Portland’s 2019 Restaurant and Bar Closings | Eater Portland

"Black Rock Coffee confirmed it would close its Pearl District location in late February, with the team saying they were honored to serve the Pearl but needed to close that spot while other locations remain open around the region." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Google
The cashier in the coffee shop, she was very friendly and helpful. But in the other day, the cashier at the drive-thru window, he seemed not to pay much attention on the drive-thru customer. It gave me the different feeling and experience of the customer service from different team members. The chocolate croissant tasted great but the breakfast burrito was quite soggy inside. The coffee drinks were always good.

Google
I love the black rock coffee bar, it was my first time there and such a wonderful experience. I really enjoyed the egg nog latte if your in to the holiday spirit grab you an egg nog latte. If you need a small but quick bite to eat I recommend the egg bites with bacon and spinach is so good. I was told by one of the employees that loved these egg bites. If your looking for quiet, relaxing place this is a great spot.

Google
The chocolate croissant was fresh and delicious—flaky with just the right amount of sweetness. However, I wasn’t too impressed with the hot chai tea latte. The flavor fell a little flat for my taste. Cute spot overall, though!

Went to this place for the first time today. It’s across the highway from my job and I needed a coffee treat. The have a selection of coffee and energy drinks and they do have some breakfast items but I didn’t get any food this go around. The inside atmosphere was really nice and they also have a drive through. I really like the vibes and the drink I got was delicious so I will definitely be going back there to try other drinks.

Google
My Fedex guy recommended Black Rock Coffee and I'm so glad he did. Coffee (Iced caramel blonde) was incredible. Service was crazy fast. Workers were chill and easy to chat with. Atmosphere is awesome.

My sister and I went to get coffee at this place about two weeks ago and I really enjoyed the experience. The drink was super refreshing and delicious. It wasn’t heavy nor was it watered down absolutely no aftertaste whatsoever which is a big win in my book because I tried to like Dutch Bros but I couldn’t get over the heavy aftertaste. The sweet level was a lil much to my liking but my sister told me to get it half sweet and I did that it was perfect easy to drink no after taste I didn’t feel extra wired like I do after some coffee experiences. The customer service is A1 the location is easy get in and out of. The point system that they have is very easy to use which is really nice nowadays you have to Jump through a million hoops and questions to get a profile at other places. Keep doing your thing Black Rock Coffee Bar I will be back!

Google
Kind of shocked they are a 4.3 right now because I’ve had nothing short of an excellent experience! I’ve been several times since I live close in the neighborhood. I usually go through the drive thru. I have gone in once and it was bigger than I expected. I didn’t visit the restroom so cannot comment on that. Prices are reasonable and the drinks are always consistent. The staff seems genuine and is chill. Never had any of the food so can’t comment on that either.

Google
Honestly this is one of the best coffee franchises I have ever been to! I’m hooked at this point. They have great consistency, customer service and fair prices. Their coffee quality is also top tier and they seem to have cold foam perfectly down packed. I love the strawberry cold foam on top of any of my drinks, and their beverages are not overly sweet like 7 brew and dutch bros. Highly recommend to anyone who may be skeptical!

Yelp
On my way back to Houston I knew I'd need an extra boost to get through the morning drive. Black Rock Coffee Bar was less than 1mile away from where I stayed so decided to give it a try. I ordered the iced caramel blonde and a blueberry muffin. 5/5 iced caramel blonde 1/5 blueberry muffin. Service was great!

Yelp
It's a cute coffeeshop with indoors and drive thru available. They have cool drink options like Oreo chiller and Mexican mocha. The Mexican mocha was delicious and they have an app for rewards if I lived closer I would get it. They all iced and hot, with all your milk alternatives as well.

Yelp
Great coffee and service. The blondie is a good one!. Want to try their Egg bites - my favorite breakfast item

Yelp
I daw this new place pop up so I had to stop by and check it out, I opted for the caramel blondie chiller it was to my surprise really good! Not super sweet not too much coffee it was a great mix altogether. There whipped cream was a little to thick for my liking so I guess I would want a lesser amt of that but other than that definitely visiting again chick who helped me was friendly and patient with me as I took time to figure out what I really wanted to try out.

Yelp
Yelp 100 Challenge 2023 #69 Black Rock Coffee Bar has 29 Texas locations with a McKinney coffee shop opening soon. Store Hours are from 5am - 7pm. During my visit, I went through the drive thru and ordered a large iced caramel blondie. Their Caramel Blondie is one of their signature drinks and it has a sweet and creamy deliciousness taste. Customer Service The young lady taking my order was patient and kind and she informed me that this location has only been open for about two weeks. Everything is brand-new and it is very inviting. During this visit, I did not go inside but it looked cozy and clean from the drive thru window. With the great service I received, I would gladly return when in the area. :) Menu Items - Served Iced, Hot, or Blended Favorites - Caramel Blondie - Irish Coffee - Caramel Mocha - Mexican Mocha - Black Out - Jack Hammer Classic - Drip Coffee - Latte/ Capp - Americano - Cold Brew - Mocha - Breve - White Mocha Coffeeless - Hot Chocolate - Hot Tea - Matcha Latte - Chai Tea Latte - Shaken Iced Tea - Italian Soda - Sparkling Soda infused with your choice of flavor And a secret menu that can be found on their website. All in all, a delectable large iced caramel blondie.

Yelp
Customer service at this place is phenomenal! I would have posted a picture but it was gone by the time I got back to the office.

Yelp
First time at a Black Rock Coffee, but I've seen them around town. In a way, it reminds me of Starbucks.. they even have their own version of "frappucinos". The price point seemed similar too. $5 ish for a matcha chiller (their version of a frappe). No complaints... tried the mango smoothie too, which was ok. I've tried the Costco mango smoothie and I think Black Rock's mango taste isn't as strong, which is a good thing. I don't think I would order a mango smoothie myself though. There were plenty of tables open, but maybe because it's just recently opened and not many people know about it. You can order online and they have a rewards program too..

Yelp
Drink was more sugar/milk than coffee. Tasted water down and too sweet. Ambiance is OK, just standard coffee shop nothing great. Service was fine.

Yelp
This morning I went to Black Rock Coffee. The coffee I ordered was so hot that it scalded my tongue. I still am dealing with a lot of pain. None of the servers seemed upset about this. I will never Ho there again.

Taylor T.

Yelp
My first time trying Black Rock and I must say the BEST part about My visit was encountering, Kaleb at the McKinney location. Very pleasant and professional young man. Thank you for helping me choose a drink. More importantly, Thank You for spreading your joy and light. A returning customer, Taylor (I'm sorry if I spelled your name wrong)

Yelp
Their breakfast burritos are the size of my penis and very tasty, they have a lot in common. The worker wouldn't suck it tho.

Enorsita T.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying the drinks are good, I have came 5x in total, throughout the day. The reason why I am giving them a 2 star is because 90% of the employees have attitudes. They definitely don't give you that welcome vibe that you want from them. If you forget something they give you a snobby look. If you want the same taste in drinks and also options go to Dutch Bros, they at least act like they want you there.

Aimey W.

Yelp
I'm not a coffee bar kind of person, to me coffee is coffee and all the complex frills that comes along with a Starbuck's coffee is annoying. However, I gave Black Rock Coffee Bar and try and it was AMAZING! I simply ordered the Americano - and it was delicious: full-bodied, bold, rich and yet smooth. Not to mention the service was delightful, almost a neighborhood friendliness that Starbucks often lacks. I highly recommend Black Rock Coffee.

Kenzie M.

Yelp
really rude service. almost completely out of all pastries at 9am on a saturday... the one muffin they had left my friend asked for it to be warmed and they took the next few minutes to not warm it and then say we never asked. also gave attitude when we declined to tip. worst black rock i've ever been to by far and definitley couldn't be paid to go back.
