Black Rock Coffee Bar

This was my first time at Black Rock Coffee. I ordered a shaken espresso which contains milk and coffee with cold foam on top. The espresso and milk were definitely not shaken and I barely had cold foam that felt just like soapy water. I’ve seen photos of mobile orders on these reviews of how the cold foam should look. The espresso was very bitter as well which makes me think it was sitting for a while before they mixed it. Do Better guys! You have the staff. You can do it.

Do not expect your mobile order to be ready. There are some very rude snotty girls that work there and you have to wait in a giant line to get your mobile order. They don’t have it ready. I like the coffee, which is why I kept returning but today I’m done.. going back to Dutch bros. If I have to wait for my order, at least I will be treated kindly.

Quick and Easy! I created a mobile order in the app (so effortless), scheduled it right before work, picked it up through the drive thru. No issues whatsoever. I just told the staff my name and that i have a pick up order. Honestly, I always do mobile orders to track the points. I’m not a coffee drinker so I stacked up on all the additives. I like the Medium Blended White Mocha, did not disappoint. I’ll try their Matcha next time. I went at 5:45am and there were two people in front of me but did not take longer than 1 minute each car. Staff was friendly and location looked clean. Also, you get a one-time free drink 30 days after you sign up and on your birthday!

Great coffee spot here in Arizona! We discovered this spot through our daughter in law, who was looking for coffee spots for our son on his birthday trip. Staff here is friendly and quick, which is essential because this place gets busy really fast! Food was great as well as our drinks.

Really nice space with lots of different areas to sit and enjoy the space and your coffee. Drive thru part of this location. Lots of people were working but orders took quite a long time to come out. I found the coffee itself to be similar to Starbucks (which I really dislike). If you are a Starbucks fan this may be a shop for you. Plenty of parking.

Seriously, we couldn't get a cup of decaf coffee because they've "cleaned their equipment for night?!" Based on Google hours, they close at 8pm & we walked in at 6:10pm. To add to it, the cashier with red hair (Ariana) acted incredibly put out by our presence. If you don't want to work on a Friday night, this might not be the job for you. Can't say we'll be back. Disappointing...

Had a nice experience at Black Rock coffee this morning. Big bright coffee shop with good coffee and friendly staff. Was a little cool out so garage style doors were closed but would probably be great when they can open them. Good spot to meet clients and friends or just use their quick wifi and get work done. This is right off the 101 so a good spot for meeting people across town.

I make my coffee at home but I didn't have a chance to Saturday. So I stopped by here Saturday morning on the way to the dealership. I was instructed to drive up to the window to order and it was a good thing to. Cause I had no clue what to get. The gal at the window suggested a drip coffee since that's what I'm used to at home. I grind my own beans, brew in a moka pot, and use heavy cream and stevia. Unfortunately BRC doesn't have heavy cream so I asked for a small splash of half & half. The coffee was pretty good and I got the biggest cup I could get Was it as good at mine at home? No. But it worked in a pinch and wasn't too expensive ($5.08) Staff was great though! If I'm in the area and need a coffee.. I'll come back here again

The strawberry smoothie tastes like a fresh blended strawberry. Not tart. I like the strawberry and the mango smoothies. It's hard to say which one I like the best. I usually alternate between getting one versus the other. They have different flavored syrups that can be added to many of their drink types for an additional cost. The fizz style drink is a fizzy carbonated soda water with an added syrup. I see lots of Black Rock stores opening up in the valley. They do have indoor seating unlike some other drink establishments. They sometimes have specials during their grand opening. Some locations offer free drinks the first day. Service was quick. Was not very busy when I went.

This place really needs a better system. We visited during a busy Sunday morning, so i understand it was quite hectic. However, the spot to pick up orders is the same spot where they take orders, making it confusing where the line is and where people are waiting to pick up their drink. They got our order pretty messed up and overcharged us for a large Nitro cold brew and gave us a medium, plus one wrong sandwich and one cold sandwich.

PPS Please turn the music down For years I didn't like this chain and recently something switched and I enjoy all of their products now. The toaster pastry is amazing. P.S. Glad they updated their chairs

My first time here. I signed up for the rewards program and got a free medium vanilla latte with coconut milk. I needed a light snack so I purchased the gluten free marshmallow crisp. It was so delicious, fluffy and chewy. The staff was very friendly and worked quickly. I drank my coffee at the venue. The music was pleasant and not too loud. I will definitely be back, especially now that I'm a rewards member.

Stopped by for a fuel energy drink on Saturday afternoon and the line was about 7 cars long. I ordered one large iced blue lagoon. Waited about 15 minutes in the drive thru and it was finally my turn. The worker seemed flustered and wasn't friendly as I approached the window. She asked me for my number for reward points and handed me my drink. I drove off and finally took a sip while on the freeway. My fuel drink seemed to not have any fuel in it.. it was very sugary and did not have the fizz that the fuel drinks usually have.. I ended up throwing the drink away as it was way too sweet. :(

I love Black Rock. Great coffee, smoothies, and energy drinks. My favorite is the Mexican Mocha with oat milk. Try it and let me know what you think. Also has a drive thru which in Arizona is a PLUS!! This location has excellent staff working there with great service.

GREATEST EXPERIENCE EVER wow the service was amazing so fast and the workers so literally so sweet. The coffee is a 10/10 as well of course.

I have no complaints about the coffee drink I typically order, which is a "iced mocha latte" I have consistently gotten great drinks made at this location. The reason I am writing this review is regarding the extremely POOR SERVICE I recently experienced from no one other than the manager "Loren" when I addressed a billing "APPLE PAY" issue (a DUPLICATE payment billed) for one latte.) I discovered the billing error after reviewing my bank statement; contacted the bank to dispute it__the bank advised me to contact the merchant first, to allow them the opportunity to correct their error. Although it was a small $5.73 purchase; it's the principle! I was certainly shocked by the unethical, unprofessional demeanor I received from the manager (Loren.) I had also previously emailed this BLACK ROCK location per the advice of my bank; but received NO REPLY. I physically returned to BR expecting them to provide a "complimentary" credit drink for the payment error. But, the NON-business savvy manager decided not to accept or fairly resolve a minor issue. Foolishly, over a small sales transaction__THEY LOST ME AS A REPEAT CUSTOMER! I must now proceed to dispute and reverse the charge through my bank. smh

I come here every morning this is my favorite spot because of all the workers they're so great always make my day way better

Came to Black Rock mid day for an Americano while I have a virtual meeting. Love the coffee and the atmosphere, but Black Rock is clearly not for meetings. It's like a hybrid between Dutch bros and a night club. Music was on point, primarily hip hop, but loud and lots of F bombs dropped in the background. Seems to me more weekend appropriate vs Tuesday at 2pm appropriate.

Walked up to the counter to order. Stood there for what seemed like forever with two employees right in front of me. I was never even acknowledged. Ended up leaving without a drink. Parking is a pain.

This place is amazing and the staff are amazing especially bre she always polite and in a great mood for early am!!!

every time i come here everybody's so nice and uplifting, the vibes are there, laney is super nice and has 11/10 customer service, thanks black rock :)

Me and my friend walked in to this location and wanted to order some coffees but we were ignored for multiple minutes before anyone acknowledged us at the register. All employees were very focused on the drive through only and we stood there for over 5 minutes until an employee who had just ended her shift barged in between my friend and I who were having a conversation, forcing us to move for her while she took her sweet time and grabbed straws for her drinks. No "excuse me" and no respect. We walked out without purchasing anything and will not be returning. Don't waste your money.

I go to this Black Rock out of convenience because it is close to my house. Some days it's great, the service is great and my drink is good. But whenever I order a drink, it's like flipping a coin on whether or not I will get what I asked for. I usually order a tea with sugar free strawberry syrup and sometimes I get something that isn't what I ordered. My drink will be made with sugar free raspberry syrup instead. I have never ordered the sf raspberry, but one night I ordered my usual and decided to speak up about it and what the employee told me (he was super chill about it) was that the sf raspberry syrup and sf strawberry were swapped. Evidently, this keeps happening because I keep getting the wrong flavor in my tea every now and then (more often than I should). The other day, I got a green iced tea with sf watermelon, and it was really good, so I ordered it again today and I ended up getting a green iced tea with sf raspberry. I mean come on. And, to make things worse, the person who was on bar making the drinks had her hands LITERALLY in the cup as she was filling them with ice. That's unsanitary and should not be happening at all. This employee must not know or simply doesn't care. Either way, that's disgusting and completely unacceptable.

Coffee was good to go! Service was excellent and fast. I'm not sure how the inside was but I would assume it had a good atmosphere. I used the drive thru and could only speak on my experience with that. Overall experience was great! I'd recommend it!

The coffee tasted burnt, and they gave me the wrong milk. Gross. I'll stick to Starbucks

Love the delicious food items here, as well as the choices of drinks available. Great service! The ambiance here is awesome & comforting. Very nicely decorated & always clean.

I didn't know this place existed, till someone with whom I had a business meeting, suggested we meet here. I ordered Egg Nog Latte. It tasted like it had liquor in it, which I don't like. I think they forgot the whipped cream on the top too. For the price almost $8, I would rather buy food at Randy's, where I wanted to meet, but it wasn't half way, but even further north for me. I am giving 4 stars instead of 3 because the guy who prepared my Egg Nog Latte was so cheerful about me requesting -0- ice, and accommodating me because I want to buy the drink, not the ice, and I told him I drink so slooooowwwwly, that the ice would water down the drink so much, it wouldn't be worth paying almost $8 for water. He was willing to not put ice at all. But when I order a boba tea at Bosa Donuts, they insist on putting half a glass of ice, and say I have to pay 50 cents if I want less ice. But Black Rock didn't charge me extra for -0- ice, cos it DOES cost them more money to put -0- ice. Even three days later, I was still enjoying and sipping my drink, which I pour on a little ice, and finish it before the ice dilutes the drink. This place is really busy when we met at 9:30 am Friday, Nov 10, 2023.

I paid $1.30 more to have the extra large only to find when I open the cup. It was far from being even close to being filled probably 3 inches away from the top. I didn't pay extra money just to have a bigger glass dollar 30 not a big deal but when the toll of the drink comes to almost 9 dollars, it should be full or close to full would've been acceptable. It was closer to half that it was fully full.

Drive thru is unusually slow I just was in the drive thru for 15 minutes with only 3 cars in front of me they are extremely unorganized

While heading for a hike we wanted to stop at a local stop for coffee. We were excited to find one right around the corner with a drive through. We ordered and were served very quickly. We had coffees and teas and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Would stop back again while in the area.

Excellent pit stop for coffee, with lots of varieties, efficient & friendly service, and reasonably priced! We stopped here on our way for a day trip to Tucson. We both had a large something for the road. Glad someone gave Starbucks some competition!

First time there, ordered a small coffee and drive off only to find that it was only three quarters of the way full, however customer service in the drive thru was above average.

This came highly recommended by my stepdaughter who is rather obsessed with all things caffenation. I just got a black coffee, and honestly, it was really good. If a black coffee can taste good, I imagine all the concoctions have even more flavor. I can see now why she needs a small IRA each week to support her habit, but it's good overall. Seems like another version of starbucks. Would drive through again.

This black rock coffee is located right off of the 101 freeway. Whenever I'm in the mood for a sweet drink I know I can come here. Be satisfied with their caramel. Blondie blended chiller. Staff is always friendly and well. Sometimes there's a way it is never as bad as Dutch brothers. I have tried their bakers before and they were OK but I would stick with their sweet drinks. It's nice to have another coffee alternative to Starbucks, Dutch brothers, and Dunkin' Donuts. I prefer black rocks, caramel blended drinks, Starbucks. The caramel is fresh and doesn't have the artificial taste that Starbucks drinks always have for me.

Discovered Black Rock on our trip and ended up going every day we were there. Coffee was amazing!

I tried this place because of the reviews. I'm confused. I got the regular drip coffee. Tasteless. No kick. Dirty place. By the windows where the countertop chairs are the floor was filthy. Bathroom was filthier.

I come to this location about every 3 weeks to make an order of 8-10 drinks for my office. They are usually very quick, considering they have other drinks to make and it's a big order, but I never mind waiting. I would say the longest I've usually waited is maybe 10 minutes. This morning I waited a whopping 50 minutes for my drinks to be made, with such attitude from one staff member. As soon as I said I had a larger order, she took my order a little annoyed, and said "yeah give us a few minutes." After 40 minutes of waiting, watching the drive through pass by, everyone else in the lobby getting their drinks, I kindly asked if it had been started. The lady then gave me a rude look and said "I don't know." Then after another 10 minutes she snapped at me saying "your order is ready" while pointing at the drinks. Have another rude look and turned her back. It was just really unfortunate, I stated it's okay to take their time and even when I asked if it was ready, I was not rude and not rushing them. Just wanted an estimate after 40 minutes of waiting.

Fabulous atmosphere - love getting to hang here and chat with friends!! Really recommend this place!

I've been on a coffee kick recently and Black Rock's new fall menu sounded delicious so off I went to get some drive thru coffee! I had the iced pumpkin blondie, medium size. There was only one car in front of me and while ordering was fast, for some reason it took a looooong time for them to make just a single drink for that customer. But, finally it was my turn to pay and my drink was ready and waiting for me at the window! The pumpkin blondie was very good! It was a well balanced amount of sweetness, flavoring, and milk. The coffee was very smooth. It was light and refreshing. While it's convenient this location is so close to the 101, it can be a little tricky traffic wise if you're going to turn left to when you leave as a result since there is so much traffic due to the freeway.

Shocked at how the young lady was dressed with tight short shorts and her you should not allow employees to come to work looking so sloppy. The two people were slow and the guy was busy with his cell phone! I'm a regular at another popular coffee spot and I've never seen a heavy person with FAT BUNS HANGING OUT OF HER TOO SMALL SHORTS! Gross! You should have some ground rules for clothing but she may be a manager! Service was very slow because of cell phones. Customer was not numero #1

I have passed by this location so many times and never knew it existed. It wasn't until I did a pickup for doordash that I discovered it. Decided to go back with a friend who also didn't know it existed. It's a standalone building with its own parking and drive-thru lane. Originally, I just wanted hot tea, but I didn't see that as an option so I had the green matcha latte. There are four sizes to choose from. I was not prepared lol. It was good, but way too sweet for me. Not sure if you can adjust the sweetness level? We ended up sitting outside as it was a nice day. No outlets outside that I saw, but I didn't look that hard. Would definitely go back if you need a place to chat and/or work remotely.

My mobile order said ready in 15 minutes. Went over and it took another 20 minutes. First time I asked the young man he said "he's working on it right now". 10 minutes later asked again and the same young guy says "he's making it right now". 20 minutes later told one of the girls my plight and finally got my 2 drinks. They prioritize their drive-thru and mobile orders get screwed. As a male pains me to say it but they need to put one of the females in charge, they were multi-tasking and getting things done while this young guy was lying to every customer that came up with a mobile order. Literally told every mobile customer "they're making it right now". Obviously not a Harvard college applicant. Recommend going through the drive-thru so they can't ignore your order.

I pulled up at 6:50 for a coffee. Google said closed at 7. The door said closed at 7. The open sign was still on. Two young ladies were behind the counter and the doors were locked. I asked through the glass door and she mouthed "we are closed". I pointed to the open sign and she said "It won't turn off" while shrugging. I purposely drove to this location knowing it was still supposed to be open upon arrival based on GPS.

I was extremely disappointed at the service I received at this location! I had ordered several beverages along with food items and when I asked for a bag (because I only have two arms!) the gal behind the counter looked at me quizzically and muttered they were not permitted to give bags even though there were about 10 of them already open on the counter. She begrudgingly gave me one after all. Seriously people? I was delivering part of my order to another person who would be carrying a small child so obviously a bag was needed! All I have to say is, think before you speak! I won't be returning any time soon!

I'm a huge fan of black rock. I love the iced vanilla latte and appreciate how friendly the staff is. Their pricing is great compared to some other shops and I find it to be quality coffee.

Ok so - let me preface I know this is a chain and usually my collections and reviews tend to focus around the private (smaller) mom and pop little coffee shops.... But this place warrants an exception. First of all I love their menu it's always changing slightly but keeps all the familiar favorites... I don't think their prices are unreasonable and considering other locations I think it's a good value for what you're getting.. Let's talk about the real reason 5 stars is here tho - they hit the big three for me. Coffee, yup yum... price, fine.... environment/ambience.... I have no idea where they are hiring their people from but everybody else should do the same, I have driven through dozen(s) of times and have always come across somebody courteous, attentive, and smiling.... Literally after driving through the drive-through my day is just better because of a pleasant interaction. Inside it gets even better, the atmosphere is welcoming, the staff has always been patient even when I'm deliberating on trying something new and I have no idea if they're faking it or not but everyone seems like they love working there.. I will tell you this is a pretty consistent stop for me just because I know the experience will be good and even if there's a mistake with the order they will fix it immediately.. bravo....

Coffee is decent, but waiting in a drive through for 30 minutes for a medium coffee with 3 people in line so far! Probably be about 45-1 hour before I can even pay! Plenty of time to catch up on phone calls, work, and other things you would otherwise be doing in the comfort of your office or home. I'd suggest coming with something akin to a police cruiser computer setup if you want to frequent this location during your lunch break. Would have been two stars but im still waiting past an hour. No discount, apology for wait or even conversation! Only telling me a tip is optional and when I clicked no tip, she went totally mute, handed me my coffee without looking. Im not expecting much from high school baristas getting paid minimum wage, I understand the plight, but c'mon.

I had gotten an ice caramel blondie and i added oat milk it was a 10/10 . hubby got a mai tai frozen fuel and he said it was amazing. we went thru the drive thru and the worker was very kind and we got our drinks very fast ! can't wait to get it again on our next vacation!

Found a new coffee spot that can take my money! It was thanks to Uber Eats that I found Black Rock Coffee and its been true love since then. But now I dropped Uber Eats and show up myself. My goto is the Caramel Truffle, I have tried it hot, tried to iced and love it both! Its creamy, sweet and has the perfect hit of caffeine. Now I am working my way through the menu to try out everything they got. If you haven't been, go give them a try!

Visited this cute little coffee shop in a trip to Arizona and I absolutely loved it! Not like the usual Dunkin or Starbucks were used to in the East Coast. The pastries all looked so fresh and the a chocolate croissant was super good! The lattes were also pretty strong and they had very interesting flavors. Definitely would recommend.

It's black rock. There you have it. A solid cup of coffee, less chatter than Dutch Bros. If you want coffee, quickly, you will not be disappointed

I decided to try again ..... and I have seen much improvement!!!!!! I wanted to stay loyal to this location and I am happy to see they are double checking order and doing a great job in smiling way to early in the morning lol ... :)
