"On the theory that there are enough rustic, woodsy old lodges in coastal British Columbia, the Black Rock Oceanfront Resort opted for a more contemporary approach; they hired a big-time modern design firm, the Vancouver/Seattle–based VIA Architecture. It’s a decision that would have to be judged a success; the result is a hotel that’s not just stylish and comfortable, but quite close to the cutting edge in terms of sustainability." - Mark Fedeli

We have traveled quite extensively over the years but I have to say that the Black Rock Resort is one of the nicest Our one bedroom ocean front room was beautiful ! The view was breathtaking. The suite was spotless, perfectly arranged cooking utensils in the drawers, wide variety of pots and pans, and especially the stainless steel French press! ||But what raises any resort from good to great is always the staff.... From the greeting by the front door man, to the front desk staff who worked diligently to coordinate an early check-in for my husband who was unwell to the housekeeping person who wished us well as we departed! You all made the difference! We will be back!

Black Rock Oceanfront is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at in Canada, It is upscale and luxurious. It is located within walking distance of the Trans Pacific hiking trail and the Lighthouse. It has a heated outdoor pool.and a hot tub overlooking the ocean, as well as a fitness room. There are two oceanfront restaurants. They offer the same menu. One is more formal while the other has a casual bar-like feel. The food is very good although pricey, like most places in Ucluelet and Tofino. Our room at the lodge was large. It had a spectacular view of Big Beach and the ocean from the balcony, which was large enough for more than 2 people to sit at. However, you could see and hear your neighbours enjoying their balconies too. There was a large, ultra-modern bathroom with a separate rainfall shower. There was also a 2-person bathtub located next to a covered glass window. If you uncover that window during daylight, you could see the ocean across the room and balcony.I prefer Ucluelet because it's quieter than Tofino, and would definitely stay at Black Rock Oceanfront again in a heartbeat.

Google
Truly gorgeous view from our room and the room itself was so beautiful with lots of amenities. The kitchen within our room was definitely a bonus, so we could cook fresh crabs from the market. There was no free breakfast, but the restaurant food was delicious. For the price we got, Black Rock was definitely worth it!

The staff at Black Rock were friendly and took customer service / satisfaction to the next level. Any questions or requests were handled instantly and the food was perfect. They catered to our family of 5 seamlessly. The only small thing was not having both hot tubs up and running!

We didn't stay here, we just had dinner at Currents on our first night. Gorgeous views. Several food options for all budgets. The lobby had two super interesting, large, drift wood sculpture tree houses that were interactive. Fun for the kids.... and adults. We also had brunch here. Highly recommend

Amazing views! Friendly and helpful staff - Cora at the front desk was always smiling, very accommodating to our requests, and helpful in making our stay as comfortable as possible! Fantastic spa too - Maria was very informative and professional. I highly recommend the black rock massage. The lounge and restaurant have stunning views and very flavorful dishes at a reasonable cost. I was on a weekend trip with my daughter, but I will definitely go back with my spouse! Thank you for the perfect getaway.

Google
Pros: the location is great, food is amazing and the service and staff are awesome too. Getting here was easy. Almost like a private resort. Lots of parking. Rooms are spacious. Bathroom is nice and clean. Views are great. In room air conditioner so personal cooling.. probably great for summer. Cons: I am giving 3 stars because of the room right on top of the pool and the hot tub. I called up reservation and booked the room and request a water view room but unfortunately we were not able to enjoy the view 100% as we had to keep the blinds half closed as people standing and using the pool downstairs were able to look inside our room and when we go to the balcony to have a coffee it was awkward seeing so many people watching you. I stayed in room 210. Hotel staff offered a different room after I complained but it was outside the main building and no elevator access and would have been difficult with a small baby and pram.I took pictures when people left the pool and hot tub.

We recently held our wedding at the Black Rock, and everything was handled so wonderfully by the staff there. Everything went seamlessly and the communication was great. The food was exquisite and the cake was gorgeous. All of our guests raved about it!

Yelp
Gorgeous views and nice large room with balcony ocean and tree scenery. Close to town and beaches. Unfortunately the hot tubs weren't working the days I was there and that was frustrating. Staff were pleasant. No housekeeping unless you request it. The food was just okay, bring your own as there's a frig and microwave in the room. The cocktail drinks were great. Overall a nice experience especially if you can get a deal on the rates.

Yelp
This review is for the Black Rock Restaurant located inside of the Black rock resort, which is stunning. The ambience, view and service were great but that's where everything good ends. The primary adjective I would use to describe their food is DRY. Everything is very overpriced and the quality was terrible. we started with the bread which was DRY & bland and a strange combination of apricot with a red pepper butter blend and olive oil. The stone fruit sour cocktail was average. Wine list was mostly all BC wines and not that exciting. For our mains we had the butter poached halibut but somehow it was very DRY. I mean what a shame to ruin a perfectly beautiful piece of fish! It was accompanied by some overcooked vegetables and Farro however they proceeded to dump a vat of (local) Serrano infused sauce over the dish which completely ruined it. It was so spicy that it completely overpowered the fish and destroyed the taste of the entire dish. I removed my fish and vegetables and sent the rest of the plate back to the kitchen. My husband tried one morsel of it on his tongue and declared it on fire and in edible. My husband's mole chicken was also... you guessed it, DRY. The only thing he enjoyed were his glazed carrots and they were over cooked. If you're going to charge $47 for the Halibut and $39 for the chicken and $7 dollars for your crappy bread, it should be good.we were not impressed and would never recommend this restaurant even though it has a lovely ambience. Note: your chef needs to go back to cooking school & have others taste the sauces before they send them out!

Yelp
Helloooo from Canada, eh! Yeah yeah I know I'm not Canadian. We are up here at the Black Rock for some anniversary hijinks. The resort is very nice and the views of the ocean are stellar. Rugged coastline abounds. The resort is fancy. Has all the amenities one might expect with the exception of actual room service. There are two restaurants here on the property and you can order and bring back to your room yourself. We are in a suite on the northwest corner and it's awesome. There's a main room, small kitchen, and large bedroom. The bathroom has a soaking tub looking out onto the ocean. There is a semi private deck off the suite. I say semi private because if there were guests in the rooms around us we would see and hear them no problem. They ask you not request housekeeping services every day during your stay due to staffing. That's fine with us. We had some dinner from one of the restaurants. Big Beach Lounge I think it was called. It was decent but I thought my portion of Cavatelli and Boulagnese was a little skimpy. A portion about the size of my fist. I was hoping for more but it was good. This place has a spa and pool with hot tubs. My bride will take advantage of the spa. We're off to sight see on this rugged Vancouver Island coast!!

Yelp
This review is only for the lounge - Seriously had FOMO at @blackrockresort lounge. I actually ordered the fish and chips for dinner that night and watched my BIL Rave about the chowder one side of me, and my mom slurping away happily on the other side. And I thought I could do with out it but my sis said I wouldn't be happy unless I had it. So I did. And I'm happy about it. One of the best chowders I've ever had. Super flavourful, lots of substance. Yum. Service was really good too! Great atmosphere.

Yelp
Restaurant is a bit wishy washy for dinner, the view is AMAZING. We had a okay meal there with some weird fanfare from the kitchen trying pretty hard to "wow" you. The servers were freaking awesome, really good, but I must say that if I wanted to return, I would go for breakfast instead of dinner, as it was really good, lots of "benny" choices that were really yummy

Mark M.

Yelp
Nice, somewhat upscale spot that has an unbeatable location over the ocean and the rocks, but just needs a little bit of an update to justify the $375+ price tags - the simplest giveaway being the clock radios with an Apple dock connector that was discontinued over 10 years ago. Similarly, the pool and hot tubs are great once you figure out how to get to them, but the size and scale make this a bit of stretch to call it a 'resort'. On the flip side - nothing but great experiences in every interaction with the front desk and wait staff, and the food at both Currents and the Big Beach Lounge for breakfast and dinner was a pleasant upgrade from other places we'd tried in the area.

Yelp
Love this resort so much! It's stunning - perched on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. The design is great, the rooms are reasonably priced - pricey but I think it's always worth it. We look forward to our stay here every year - it's fun in the summer and in the winter for storm watching and cozy vibes. The restaurant is tasty, and the spa is so relaxing. What's better than a hot tub overlooking the wild Pacific Ocean with eagles flying overhead?

Kate M.

Yelp
I really love staying at Black Rock when I visit Ucluelet. It sits right on the edge of the pacific ocean and the views are vast and beautiful. In the winter season, you'll see breathtaking waves and in the summer you'll get some killer sunsets! I've stayed at this resort twice now and both experiences have been great! This time we stayed in the main building and the rooms are a good size for two. Huge bathrooms and the bathtub was awesome, nice and deep and filled quickly. A bonus! Candles would have been a nice feature or even a dim light over the bathtub. There was also alittle kitchenette in the room too and toaster oven in case you wanted to have a meal in the room versus going out. I always like it when a room has some form of a kitchen to put leftovers, wine etc! Feels like more of an apartment than a hotel. Their hotel robes are wonderful, thick and warm and they have a toasty fireplace you can turn on for the winter months. The bed was great and so comfy! I had some of the best sleeps here. It's also quite quiet between rooms. I could hear people who were loud in the hallway but never heard people next to us. The lounge downstairs in the lobby is more casual whereas the restaurant is fine dining and more expensive. We ate at the lounge the first night because they had live music which was fun. The food was better than the last time I ate here so that was a nice surprise. We got the seafood chowder and fried chicken, both tasty! A couple areas of improvement to give this a five star would be an upgrade on the overall service and perhaps a room upgrade and the pool/hot tub needs help. Everything is very self serve from driving into the lot (no concierge or valet) or luggage assistance that you'd probably expect from a five star resort experience. The bathroom was one of my favourite features in the room but the sliding glass window doesn't provide enough privacy or soundproofing. I feel badly for all the new couples who realize their bathroom has a big ol window in it haha. The hot tub and pool area is super small which is wild to me because the landscape is so stunning you wanna feel like you can almost touch it. I would redo the pool and hot tub to be an infinity style (of course it may not be possible at all due to what it's built on) but man I feel like that's a missed opportunity. Covid also makes it difficult because the hot tubs are small so people would legit wait on the chairs staring at you around the hot tub till you got out - not the most relaxing experience. The hot tubs felt like they'd be the size you'd have in your backyard but not the size to accommodate hotel stays. The pool is also tiny and needs an upgrade. I'd almost suggest removing it altogether and just building out more hot tub space or so like a cold plunge kind of spa type pool experience. Overall it's a solid hotel and I would recommend staying here if you find yourself in Ucluelet! If you go to Tofino, stay at the Wickaninnish Inn - that is a five star experience!

Jenn C.

Yelp
Location is stunning. The room was very nice, EXCEPT, and this is a big except, there was a window in the wall between the bathroom and the bedroom. WHY? The window did not close all the way and there was about a 1 inch gap between the sliding windows so there was no privacy. You can hear everything in the bathroom from the bedroom. Such a weird feature. The shower was amazing - rain shower with excellent pressure. Bed was comfortable. Our fireplace didn't work but they fixed that for us as soon as we asked. Wish they had a good option for coffee and a quick breakfast. Currents was expensive. It would have been excellent if they had an onsite cafe like Roar at Hotel Zed where guests could grab a quick coffee and scone in the morning. Would recommend and overall it was a great experience.

Yelp
My wife and I travel the world and experience upscale and modest restaurants and lounges everywhere. We dropped into the Big Beach Bar & Lounge for a casual dinner and drink. We were understandably unable to get into the main restaurant, last minute. The view from the lounge is stunning. There were no tables with the view, so we were placed at a corner table. We immediately asked if we could sit at the bar which only had 3 people at it. There were at least 6 other open stools. The bar tender simply shook his head "no". Guess he thought he was too busy. So we proceeded to order a drink and dinner from the table. The waitress took our order, delivered the drinks and food and never checked on us again. We would have ordered another drink, but thought better of giving this place more of our money. We walked out and characterize this place as pretentious. Come on. For those prices, at least try to earn it. Find somewhere else to go is my advise.

Yelp
I loved this getaway from Seattle for a long weekend. Beautiful view from our room, great service and what a fantastic spa they have! Drift spa was my absolute favorite. The Perfect Storm was perfect in every way. I was pampered for a little over 3 bours without rushing. They were professional, attentive and lovely. I fell asleep during the hot stone massage it was so good! I'm leaving out a star because of the lack of good food in the resort and around the area. The Float lounge is great, the rest left little to be desired. All in all a great stay!

Rebecca B.

Yelp
Beautiful room clean spacious and the scenery is like nothing you have ever seen on the west coast The food was subpar for the expense and menu was incredibly limited the service was not friendly at all must be a morale issue front desk amazing Servers in the lounge not great but overall beautiful hotel

Matthew F.

Yelp
This place was so bad that after the long ride from Victoria, we didn't stay. First impressions were that the lobby smelled like wet dog. Sometimes lobbies aren't the best indicators of a hotel so we proceed to the front desk. Staff there aren't particularly friendly, but we get our key card and are pointed to the luggage carts. Not exactly the service you expect for $450 a night, but fine, we'll go grab our bags. The room. We open the door to a giant wave of vinegar smell. Like, burn your eyes levels. I immediately go to the balcony door and open it. Then go to the bedroom balcony door and open that one and it fell off the hinges. Seriously, the top of the door fell right into my hands. It's also then that realize that the carpet on the floor is filthy (Photo attached). My wife being the more diplomatic of the two of us goes to lobby to ask about the smell and the door. They said they clean with vinegar and dismiss that concern and send maintenance to look at the door. A dirty guy shows up and says that they knew the door was broken and that they were waiting on a hinge. He demonstrated how to open the door without it falling off and leaves. Not at all good enough. Not for $150 a night, but certainly not $450 a night. Now it's my turn to go back to the front desk where the same guy apathetically offers me an upgrade to a "premium room". This room isn't much cleaner, a worse view and has a stale smell. The furniture is damaged and old. This is where they ran out of chances. I got on the phone and started calling other places. We settled on Pacific Sands in Tofino. While not a luxury spa resort, they at least had extremely courteous staff, and well kept clean rooms that are seconds from the beach. And for well over $100 less per night. While Black Rock returned our deposit, they did charge us a $20 service fee and made little attempt to apologize on the way out. This is a resort that has plain given up. Their standards are gone and their staff doesn't care. Save some money and go with a place that actually wants your business.

Yelp
I've stayed in my fair share of CAD$350+ hotels, and this could have been good, but fell way short. Rooms (2/5) : modern style, but super dark at night. Bathrooms are spacious, but quality is 3 star type hotel. The worst thing? Ground floor rooms have thin blinds that you can see through. This means anyone at night walking past can see into your room. No privacy at all. And in the mornings, there's no way to block light and it gets super bright early. Security (0/5): I was horrified one evening to come back to my room and find that the door handle could open, without a key. When I asked the manager at the front desk, no apology, just an offer to fix. Which took 30 mins to action after being promised in 5 mins. When I asked what caused it, he said it was a common bug. If the key card is left too long in the spot by housekeeping, the lock resets itself and leaves it open. This is a HUGE RISK and management indifference is shocking. Frankly I count myself lucky nothing was stolen in the afternoon after housekeeping. Breakfast (3/5): only opens at 8am. So if you are planning early excursions from Tofino, forget about breakfast as it is too late. It should really open at 7am like most other hotels. Otherwise, the a la carte breakfast is actually pretty good. Restaurant : super busy, so needs booking in advance at least a week. Swimming Pool (1/5) : tiny, just a plunge pool. For this price point and a "resort and spa", this is shocking. WiFi (4/5) : decent speed. Showers (5/5) : good pressure and nice hot water. Beds (3/5) : good nights sleep. They are the firm kind, so depends on your sleeping preference whether it works. However, housekeeping forgot to make the bed one day. They cleaned the rest of the room, but left the bed. Very weird. Why 1 star? I'm usually forgiving if management make the effort once serious issues are raised. But in this case management doesn't care. It is a common theme with many other reviews of this resort. And this is unforgivable when the rooms are 350+ a night. If management had dealt with my issue seriously, my review would have been much higher.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed at Blackrock Resort during a weekend in October. I would say that our stay was alright, but leading up to our stay was beyond a headache. Also, this resort is a very long drive from Tofino. I do not recommend staying here if majority of your time and nights will be in Tofino.  Overall, I have stayed at several other resorts at Vancouver Island, and do not recommend this resort unless you are in an absolute pinch to book something close to Tofino. The rest is my experience of my stay and booking with resort which is lengthy. Originally, my boyfriend was making the booking and corresponding with reservations, but due to his job he was unable to continue discussions so I picked up from where he left off. The representative that my boyfriend spoke to mentioned an ocean view room, but when I called back this was unavailable. Instead I was offered a partial ocean view suite, but on the same day, a different representative called and left me a voicemail that they have an ocean view suite available. This was extremely confusing since we already went ahead and took the partial ocean view suite. The room booking aside, the worst experience was the spa. My boyfriend managed to hold a booking until end of day, and when I called the spa, the spa representative was extremely rude and short in her answers. I understand due to COVID there are several restrictions, but I was just inquiring since it seemed that this resort was different. The spa representative was extremely rude and ended up hanging up on me abruptly. I ended up calling back and speaking to the Front Desk Supervisor, Jordana, who was extremely apologetic and helpful. She was able to clarify the confusion regarding the room and make the spa booking on our behalf. She did ask what else she can do to make it right, but I did not feel the position was mine to ask for what is needed, instead, something should have been extended to us. I would like to highlight that we did receive complimentary drink vouchers.

Melissa D.

Yelp
Room was okay nothing to brag about. The bathroom was nice with a beautiful stand up shower and soaker tub. Nice view from our room balcony can't complain about that but..... NO A/C! Seriously at 300+ a night and there is no air conditioning. Called down to ask how to turn it on and was told no A/C there is a fan in your closet. Something you dont even think to ask because honestly at that price point you would assume that the rooms would have air conditioning. We were here for a wedding and some of the other guests in our party had dirty rooms when they checked in(ours was not). Dirty counters in the kitchenette old food left in the fridge from the last guest. Dirty sheets on the bed. This was not my experience or it would have been been no more than 1 star. The food was really good in my opinion the breakfast buffet was really yummy but the server did forget about us. We asked for coffee when we were seated and were brought empty cups. We then got up to go to the buffet. When we came back still no coffee or even water on the table. We were just about finished breakfast when we finally were able to get the attention of a sever and get coffee. It was then she relized nobody had served us and still had to go get cream and sugar. Also if you bring your dog make sure you bring poop pick up bags from your room as the stations on the resort with poop bags were empty the entire time we were there. In conclusion I overpaid for a decent room but the veiw and food made up for it I suppose. I would love to come back to uclulet in the future but will not be staying at the black rock again.

Ethel D.

Yelp
If I could make this into my permanent home - I would! There's a serenity watching waves burst and clash upon the black jagged rocks. Water forming tall towers above the horizon, to ultimately cease when it reached it's peak. We could sit there forever, watching from our balcony and nothing mattered; at the edge of the earth, where ocean met sky. My partner and I are in love with everything this resort offers. I'm not a poet, but damn, this place sure made me want to be. Tip: Get the ocean view. I'm personally not the type to highlight accommodations on my trips, however my decision to invest a bit more exceeded my expectations.

Ken P.

Yelp
We did not stay here. We hung out at the float bar and lounge. The view was phenomenal!! The food was ok. Drinks were on point. Our server, Jeff, was outstanding. He was attentive, but not too much. He was incredibly friendly and enjoyable to chat with. He truly loves his community and it shows. Thanks Jeff! We will hit you up when we get back to this beautiful town.

Jeff S.

Yelp
Views get an A+. Sleep with the door open and soak in that crashing surf. It's why you came here. Not run like a typical resort, so don't expect bellhops, valets, concierge, room service, a pool, etc. The coffee shop closes early afternoon. There's no convenience store. The attention to detail isn't the highest, probably due to a small staff due to a small local population. And it seems like not the ideal place for hyperactive kids. But if you want some solitude and an AMAZING location it can't be beat.

Joe L.

Yelp
Black Rock is an absolutely gem of a boutique contemporary resort hidden off the main drag of Ucluelet by the ocean within short driving distance to the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. It's secluded location offers dramatic and gorgeous view of the Pacific waves pounding on the black volcanic rocks around the bay and the surge channel. The hotel has a restaurant, a lounge, a wine cellar, a small ballroom, a plunge pool and a hot tub. The best feature of the hotel for me was the room we had. The appointment was clean-lined with a rich and warm colour scheme. Our balcony has an awesome view of both the ocean and the forest. The window opens both sideway and inward. The feature I love most is the service opening above the headboard and standalone 2-person soaker tub. You can enjoy the view outside or your favourite shows on the flatscreen TV above the fireplace in the room while taking a bath after spending a day on the beach or hiking on the trails in the national park. After a hot bath, you can hop into the extremely spacious slate-tiled shower with a rain shower head to cool off Our room was also equipped with a DVD player and a smaller kitchen with conventional / microwave oven and a small fridge complete with cutlery and other utensils for making your own late night snacks. The regular rate is over $300 / night but it is a perfect place for a special occasion.

Rick L.

Yelp
Save your money! I'll give you the bad and then share the good. Do you remember the old adage - it's the little things that make the difference. Black Rock is case in point. I'm not a prude but I expect more for $480 a night. Firstly, the staff is very inexperienced and it shows. From the bellhop, to the front desk to the specialty staff - far far far below par. Poor communication, poor response to questions and service at a level acceptable to a teenager. Remember the little things......they did try...? They put postcards in the room (excellent idea) but they don't post the card for you not even sell stamps. This is a fail. No courtesy phone charger, no late checkout and no real care to detail. The room was under whelming, blah. Given the potential for amazing West Coast scenery, they picked a crappy spot. No beach, sea weed invasion and poor use of form and function for a resort hotel. The pool/hot tub is abysmal. Probably couldn't get more than 6 guests in the tub at once. The maintenance was clearly lacking. Tubs weren't ready for a 10 am opening. They were luke warm, one was out of service and the other had 'scum' around the edges. We were the first ones in for the day and it was gross. Get this, Sunday morning, getting ready to checkout and the coffee shop was closed. Closed I tell you! How can a coffee shop in a Resort Hotel be closed, especially on a weekend?????? There was some good though... The bed was very comfortable and the rain shower was great! We won't be back, we'd rather tent in the rain rather than endure the lack of service, care and attention we received at Black Rock. Flush this one from your bucket list.

Tasha D.

Yelp
I assure you, this is what heaven must be like. The sweetest, most helpful staff Who are genuinely happy! This makes a difference. The room blew my mind. I have never stayed in such a beautiful place. You are surrounded by nature. Tall trees, right on the wild Pacífic trail, Rocky shores, the sounds of the Pacífic... It could not have been any better. The room. Dios mio. A super comfy bed with lush pillows and duvet, two chairs and a little table in front of the TV and fire place, a bathroom with a big soaker tub, window to see the fire place, giant rain shower, HEATED STONE FLOORS, robes, towels, and really great soaps and natural shampoos that left my hair and skin feeling super healthy and soft. And the freaking view!!!!! We had breakfast on the balcony listening to the waves. They left a blanket on the chairs and extra pillows for máximum comfort. I read the wild life photography book while seated out there, completely absorbed in the moment while my husband went to get us scones from a local café. I wish we had more time there to check out the spa. They have some natural products for sale. They also have a restaurant, gym, hot tubs, and pool!! I loved the room and the views. I hope we have the opportunity to return here!! I thoroughly recommend a visit. :)

Yelp
Overall: 3.5 This is my first time in Ucluelet and I was hoping this hotel was worth the drive over and the price. Overall I am left content. The room we got had an ocean view which was inconveniently blocked by a few trees. Not the biggest hassle, but ocean view costs extra, and honestly it was a letdown. The room itself was pretty good, the kitchen was stocked with cutlery and plates, the room was tidy and the bathroom was good. However, my only nitpick about the bathroom is that the sink and the sink table is too low. When I get ready, I have to crouch down to the vanity mirror which is hard. The restaurants at the hotel aren't that amazing, you can check out my reviews of both restaurants on my profile. The hotel is really pricey and is probably good for tourists visiting Canada for the first time. But for me, a citizen of Vancouver, Canada, is left feeling a little bit ripped off. Tofino and Ucluelet are great touristy towns, great for weddings and such, but the towns heavily rely on tourists to keep funds going, so everything is a little more expensive. I may come back but not soon.

Yelp
I stayed here as a party of 3, in a 1 bedroom trail suite. We stayed here during COVID-19 times, so this review takes that into account. First impressions are quite nice, with big windows offering views of the water and lots of natural light. Layout wasn't crowded, and the bed and pull out couch were made for us and comfortable. The bathroom? In a word, palatial. We had a nice deck with sufficient seating, and a dining room table in the living space. The carpet inside reminded me of indoor/outdoor carpet. Some of the pavers on the balcony and entrance way were loose and shifted when you stepped on them. When planning our trip, we brought enough food to prepare our meals in the room, as we'd been assured that there was cooking facilities we could use. Yes, there was cooking facilities, but I wouldn't say people try to cook here very often. The two burner cook top struggled to boil a pot of water. It was the first time we'd seen a combination microwave and oven. We found it a little small and complicated, but functional in the end. There was a small dishwasher as well, which did the job. Some basic items were missing, like a colander, baking dish, lids for some of the pots, and one of our small pans was deformed and almost melted. Truthfully, it reminded me of something you'd find in a garage sale. With some creative improvising, we were able to salvage our meals without incident. Bedding was quite inviting, but after an evening with the doors open (this was July), we found ourselves a bit chilly. There were no spare blankets left in the room, and the pull out bed only had a thin coverlet. We went to start the fireplace to warm things up, but found that the pilot light was out. Luckily, we are veterans when it comes to fixing this sort of thing, so the fire saved that night. As our stay continued, the absence of some things became more glaring. There was no stock of toilet paper, leaving only 1 roll for three people for two nights. We had to call the front desk to request more toilet paper. There were only two dishwasher pucks, which would have made sense if the dishwasher was big, but it was too small for some of the pots. In addition, there was no washing tray to aid in drying dishes washed by hand. The room lacked tea and sugar, and the documentation suggested that if we wanted these things we'd have to ask the front desk. Robes were provided for the room, but only two were provided when it was made clear that there'd be three guests. We did not have much interaction with staff, but those that we did meet seemed nice enough. We did not go to the restaurant or the spa, and some of the other amenities were closed due to COVID-19. Wrap up: Luxurious resort and nice property, but lacking some hospitable touches. It doesn't feel great when you have to ask for things you should have been provided with in the first place. Limited cooking facilities; you'll have to tailor your cooking appropriately or eat out a lot. Small but consistent signs of wear throughout the property. Missed Opportunities: Either provide air conditioning, or provide screens on all windows. We didn't like having to choose between an open screen door or getting eaten by mosquitos. Some outdoor options, like barbecues, might have been nice for patios. Improve your cooking utensils and facilities; beautiful rooms like this should have a beautiful, well appointed kitchen.

Yelp
Views to die for. Location is perfect. Right on the Pacific Trail but has a secluded feel. Second time here. Pub was great. Good food and service. Luxury all the way. Only complaints were 1. bed sheets weren't changed even though out stay was over 3 days. 2. Amenities weren't replenished sometimes (face cloths, towels, soap, toilet paper) . 3. Fridge had some damage. Still kept things cold, but shelves and freezer door were broken. 4. Kitchen tap would not pour cold water no matter how long we let it run.

Yelp
My highest recommendation~! An absolutely gorgeous resort, situated on one of the most beautiful spots. My wife and I were treated like royalty (we're not) from the moment we walked in. Room was fantastic, views were "to-die-for", and for the experience, the rates were very fair. We'll definitely return when we're in the area! FIVE STARS!

Yelp
We also stayed at this place using Groupon, 2 nights in a one bedroom suite that came with a $50 dinner voucher and a bottle of wine. Our first night we heard bass coming from the first level (Prom night) we called the front desk and they moved us within 20 minutes. Very, very friendly staff. The modern rooms are awesome. We did have to turn the heat off in all the rooms because it gets a little warm inside...opened the windows and listened to the ocean. The kitchen has pretty much everything you need to cook. Loved the shower, I'm 6'5 and had lots of room...rain shower head, separate deep tub and heated bathroom floors. I don't want to go home.

Yelp
This is a review for the restaurant, Fetch. We ate lunch there on a Monday. I had beef linguini with Bacon - it was quite rich and delicious. My daughter had Salmon (slightly overcooked) on a salad, with fried cheese curds. I thought the fried cheese curds were weird and kind of tasteless, but I'm not cheese curd expert. The iced tea seemed to be Lipton Brisk (or something out of a fountain). (That is common in restaurants in BC, for those of you coming from the Southern US.) Our waitress disappeared after serving our meal, but we didn't mind because we enjoyed the sun and view from our patio perch. I wouldn't drive too far to go to Fetch, but it was an acceptable lunch.

Yelp
Meh, this resort was nice for the area but for the price it wasn't all that great. I really like how they had a nice kitchen with kitchen tools, I didn't like how they didn't have A/C. They had a 'pool' and their gym was a joke. The views at the resort are really amazing, beware of mosquitos. The restaurant in the hotel was okay as well, they did a decent job on our parties dishes. I expected a lot more for the price we paid.

Yelp
This resort is where stress goes to die. Seriously. Absolutely fully stacked rooms, views of crashing waves from your covered balcony, impeccable attention to detail from beginning to end, deep soaker tubs, rain showers, heated tile bathrooms, I could go on! Venture out onto the Wild Pacific Trail, which heads out in both directions from your front door. Grab a drink in the lobby. Sit in the hot tub. Take it all in! My only regret is that I was only able to stay one night. If I can help it, I'll be back!

Yelp
Wonderful room , with a wonderful view, staff were incredibly helpful as we all navigate around COVID protocols .......I can't wait to go back

Yelp
Two years ago my wife and I got married at Black Rock Resort. For our two year anniversary we stayed in Tofino for the week and decided to come to our place of marriage for a few drinks to celebrate. We drove in snowy conditions for an hour to get there for the posted 3 pm opening of the Float Lounge. When we got there there was a chalk sign saying Float Lounge opens at 5 pm today. No notification on their website of a change of hours. No notification on their instagram page. I went to the front desk to explain the situation and how much we had looked forward to celebrating and was told "Sorry, no, we open at 5 today." Nobody cared about our ruined day or the fact that we had spent thousands of dollars there getting married, just a callous indifference. Sadly we will NOT be going back for future planned anniversaries.

Yelp
We used a Groupon here which was 2 nights in a suite and a 100 dining credit and we really enjoyed our stay. Fetch restaurant was absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend having fresh oysters when visiting this part of the world. The champagne and pepper mignonette was to die for. The view from our room was breathtaking, and we happened to be there when a unreal storm hit. Watching the waves crash in front of the fireplace, with no power is definitely my idea of romantic. The only downside is that the doors to the patio are a little confusing to lock and during the night, it was literally so windy that our door blew open. We called down and they came up and fixed it immediately. I cannot wait to return!

Yelp
You walk into the foyer along black granite tiles and are immediately confronted with the amazing ocean view that you came all this way to see. The Black Rock doesn't try to dress up nature because it knows better. Rather, it presents the natural splendour and adds exquisite comforts to facilitate the experience. I took my wife here for her birthday and we couldn't have been happier. And if you're really feeling lazy, the resident restaurant, Fetch, is quite good as well. We will be back without question. Tip for the Mainlanders: you may find that booking through BC Ferries Vacations is cheaper. I also suspect that BCFV guests are treated with a little more care and attention given the importance of keeping BCFV happy.

Yelp
Black Rock Resort is absolutely Fantastic! The rooms are modern, open and spacious. All with windows that allow you to let light in and enjoy the view. I highly recommend an Ocean view, all Patios have chairs to watch the amazing ocean that surrounds the resort. The dining is fantastic, and of course you are Ocean front in the restaurant. The Trails are phenomenal - amazing views, lots to explore. Black Rock is kid and dog friendly. Our suite had an amazing bathroom, the tub was HUGE as well as the shower with the water coming from the ceiling! The King size bed was comfortable, and the pillows exquisite! Fridge & freezer space along with a convection oven/microwave and a dishwasher! The service was fantastic and the recommendation for Whale Watching through Subtidal adventures was AMAZING! Highly recommend anyone to go and stay at BlackRock a little piece of heaven. Worth the Ferry, worth the drive and worth the stay!

Yelp
This is a tough one. The rooms are beautiful. The staff are friendly and cooperative. The cleaning staff does a wonderful job, which isn't too tough if you see the pristine fixtures with which they work. BUT... They recommended me to a hair salon before a wedding, correction; a salon that appeared to be a salon, run by a very sweet lady, who had NEVER done hair in her entire life. It was absolutely awful. I was there for over an hour and a half for a 30 minute job. I only paid her as she really did try, but upon reflection I should have left her nothing. And I didn't walk out because I had already spent so much time there that I wanted to leave with a "semblance" of a hairdo. She told me she had lent out her regular tools for a wedding. You have got to be kidding me, right? And THIS from an alleged five star hotel? I don't think so. What kind of hotel recommends a shady business??? I called to let the front desk manager know, and she basically laughed, told me she'd take note of my tip, and recommended that I try their breakfast with "average" reviews I might add. I just don't think that the staff is very well trained, and sadly, this entire experience dampened my experience at the hotel. If I'm going to pay over $350 a night (for a room with only a partial view) I don't expect them to "mess up" on whom they recommend. Very disappointed in how the hotel handled it, too.

Yelp
You will not find a nicer place on Vancouver Island, I am sure. Way out on the edge of the Pacific Rim, in tiny little Ucluelet, sits the world-class Black Rock resort. The ocean waves are ferocious, crashing against the volcanic rock that sits just above the surface, and the views are stunning. It was raining like mad when we visited, but in no way did this diminish our experience. Bonus points for having extra-large showers AND heated tile floors in the bathroom. We can't wait to get back there, even though the drive from Seattle was long.

Yelp
We stayed at this place on a Groupon that my boyfriend had purchased for 2 nights in a one bedroom suite that came with a 50$ dinner voucher and a bottle of wine. It turned out to be an absolutely stunning place! Having been born and raised on the island, it never occurred to me to vacation here. What? A hotel in Ucluelet?! Three years ago I'd have balked at the very idea of spending money to stay somewhere I could drive to in an hour, let alone a place with few amenities or nightlife, at that! But alas! My mind has been changed since moving to Vancouver and the day-long trek to the west coast beckons me in a way I never thought possible. Every room has a view or at least a partial view. It is beautiful and calming, service is fantastic. I simply adore this resort and could have stayed there another night with no objections. The rooms are enormous and have kitchenettes with Miele appliances and gas fireplace. The bathroom - with a view through the bedroom to the ocean!- seems somehow eerily larger than the tiny suburban suite I call home. The restaurant, Fetch, has cuisine that rivals Vancouver's most stellar fine dining establishments. With a view of the ocean, you simply can't go wrong. For those of you who have stayed at the Wickanninish Inn, this place easily rivals it in many aspects and based on price alone, it easily surpasses it. I always feel as though I need to justify the lack of a fifth star. So here goes. It's not on a sandy beach. In fact, there isn't much for beaches in Ucluelet necessitating a trip to Tofino (Which one should do anyway, simply for the beaches if nothing else). Also, the windows and patio doors in our suite were dreadfully difficult to open. I suppose this is not a dire issue, but it was a real fight! For such a nice resort, it should not have been such a headache.

Yelp
This place was really hard to leave. The rooms were cozy and well equipped. The staff was beyond professional. The view was rugged and gorgeous, just like it should be. And the spa experience was lovely. The food at the pub however was hit or miss. I had beet soup that was great, and my husband had a burger he described as a "hockey puck." The hot tubs were nice and hot but the lighting could have been a bit more romantic. Having said all of that, it was so hard to check out of our cozy suite that we almost stayed an extra night...if we hadn't had work to go back to, we would have for sure. Thanks for a romantic and cozy getaway by the wild ocean.

Yelp
A beautiful resort with an amazing view. As all the other reviews say, it's in a beautiful secluded location, and perfect for those that want to get away from it all, do some wonderful outdoors activities (hiking, surfing, swimming if you like it cold, kayaking, etc). Service is friendly and professional, and I agree that the bathrooms were FANTASTIC: rainhead showers with instant INSTANT hot water and big soaker tubs and heated tile floors in the bathroom and a small kitchenette for those who don't want to eat out every meal. The only improvements: would like to have the opportunity to have a pay-per-movie, though it did have a DVD player if you have your own, and the option for room service would be nice. Loved it and hope to be back soon.

Yelp
I went here for the Easter long weekend in 2014, and I cant say a bad word about this place... Well maybe one bad word but it was rectified immediately. When we first arrived we were given a room in the North side of the building with not much of a view. So we went down to see of we could upgrade and they gave us the most beautiful suite! The view was stunning! We grabbed some tofino beer and just enjoyed the view from both the living room and the bedroom for a healthy portion of the trip. The staff was amazing, the spa was so relaxing, the walks around the resort were phenomenal... This place far exceeded my expectations. At first I was disappointed that we couldn't find a place in tofino, but this place put those concerns to rest instantly. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant, but we did order room service which was pretty good. One night we made an amazing oyster meal in the little kitchenette. Planning in going back again in the fall!

Yelp
Recently my husband and I eloped at the Black Rock Inn and Resort. We had a beautiful suite with a perfect view of the Ocean. Our balcony provided the perfect spot for our vows, considering the rain made a beach ceremony less attractive. The hotel provided us with witnesses and gave us impeccable front-desk service (chocolates in our room congratulating us), however the rooms and facilities seemed to be less than "up to snuff". Our mini fridge first froze everything then stopped working entirely - meaning that flowers and cake and other food items were spoiled and left a bad smell in the room. The cleaning staff did not make up our room when the sign given asking for this service was left on the door for over 7 hours, and when we called to ask for this to be done it was still only partially complete (no coffee or tea left even though we were out, towels still left on the floor, no vacuuming, garbage not removed etc). The hot tubs were both not working in the spa area and the smoke alarm kept going off in the middle of the night with a battery-low indicator. I enjoyed my stay, but it seems as if a hotel that is considered the second best place to stay in BC would have done a better job at keeping their facilities maintained.

Yelp
Fantastic views, stunning design, the room was amazing, and we were on a reasonably priced winter deal. Exactly what a boutique hotel should be.

Yelp
After thinking a lot about it, my impression of the Black Rock is that it maybe used to be top notch, but for whatever reason (new management, hard times, etc.) it has slipped quite a bit. The whole place just seemed like one big dichotomy. Gorgeous, secluded, quiet location. AMAZING scenery. The rooms were spacious with floor to ceiling windows and great amenities. The design and decor were a huge part of why we booked; we weren't disappointed with any of that. In short, the aesthetic was pretty fantastic. However, it was the execution in service that really fell short. Over and over again, we found ourselves very confused about the lack of attentiveness or care (and sometimes even complete absence) by the staff. There were no valets, doorman, bellman, or concierge (which surprised us), and the front desk attendents were usually less than enthusiastic. While they were pleasant, and, other than the morning we checked out, not overtly rude, there was a professional quality that was lacking. The staff just seemed to kind of lounge around, almost as if the manager was gone on vacation or something. It was just odd and very off-putting. I used to work in a very nice hotel in Portland (The Benson), so I have a pretty good idea of what good hotel service is suppose to look and feel like. I normally make sure I have small bills on me to tip, but I didn't have to worry about that once our entire stay.. there literally wasn't anyone around to tip. The first thing we noticed when we opened the door to our room (top floor, double king suite) was the temperature. It was HOT. Immediately we tried to figure out how to turn on the A/C only to find out (after calling down to the front desk) that THERE WASN'T ANY. The whole time we were there this baffled us. How could a hotel that represented itself this luxuriously not have air conditioning? Even more than that, though, was the obvious lack of anticipation of our arrival. At the very least I would have expected windows to be opened, maybe some fans put going, so that the ocean breeze could cool our room somewhat. We had to ask for fans. Another really huge disappointing thing was the mosquitos. Now, I understand those little buggers always find a way to get in one way or another, but this was bad. The main doors to the hotel lobby were wide open when we arrived... and this trend continued the whole time we were there, which was funny since all the locals we talked to in town told us how bad the bugs were that time of year. Why would a nice hotel not try to mitigate that for their guests?! I've traveled a lot in 3rd world countries where sleeping with a mosquito net is required, and stayed in hotels with LESS mosquitos. This was BAD. At check-in we made reservations at the on-site restaurant, Fetch, for last evening. After experiencing such bland service during the first four days, we canceled our reservations and drove up the coast that evening and had dinner at an AMAZING place in Tofino called "Wolf in the Fog." HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Earlier in the week we had dinner at the hotel restaurant at the Long Beach Lodge Resort. The difference in service the moment we walked in was palpable, making us kind of regret staying at the Black Rock. Also highly recommend. Finally, our last evening there, the suite next to ours was occupied by a large group of young guys (we guessed wedding party) that were very loud all night despite our multiple phone calls down to the desk. At check-out the next morning, when we said something, the young lady checking us out actually laughed out loud and then offered a mild apology. We left quickly. All in all, I feel like we really gave the Black Rock a realistic fair shake. We stayed 5 days, which tells me that this wasn't just a fluke. My guess? Poor management. I get that Ucluelet is a secluded, salt of the earth, small beach town community, but the Black Rock doesn't market itself as a homey, relaxed B&B. It's (supposedly) a high-end, luxury resort. Unfortunately, this just isn't the case. If they can up their game in this area, I'd go back in a heartbeat. Until then, I'll book elsewhere.

Yelp
Had a great trip! We arrived and they couldn't find our reservation in the system - the staff were wonderful at accommodating us though! We got a nice room and dinner reservations in the hotel's restaurant since all the restaurants in the area were closed. Mustafa really went out of his way to make our stay exceptional. We really appreciate it! I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone I know.

Yelp
My husband and I just returned from a vacation to Vancouver/Vancouver Island. We stayed at the Black Rock Oceanfront Resort for 3 nights, and really loved it. I do think that it was a little overpriced, as some parts of the resort looked a little rundown, but overall, we thought it was gorgeous. The setting couldn't be more perfect. The resort overlooks a rocky beach, and there is a trail head for the Wild Pacific Trail just steps away. We were just in awe of the beauty of the area. Here are my thoughts on a couple specific areas: Our room: We stayed in a room with a king bed overlooking the rain forest. My main gripe with Black Rock, and the reason I docked it a star, was that there is no a/c. I realize that this is standard for many places in the Pacific Northwest, but...our room was so damn stuffy! We left the balcony door open for a few hours one night, but I got so many bug bites that we didn't do it again. Otherwise, I loved the room. The bathroom was amaaaaaazing. The big soaker tub, the rain shower shower head, the heated floor tiles...ahhhhhh. The location: Like I said, it was gorgeous. However, we did drive to Tofino one night, and I think next time I would prefer to stay there. Not because I didn't enjoy Black Rock, but just because there is more to do. The town is bigger, there are waaaaay more restaurants, more beaches, trails, etc. Ucluelet is nice, but is not geared towards tourists, which is fine. The lounge/restaurant: We ate breakfast in the restaurant, Fetch, twice. The first time I had two eggs over medium (cooked perfectly), toast, potatoes, and fruit. Delicious! The fruit actually included blueberries, cherries, and pineapple, as well as the standard grapes, honeydew, etc. Everything was great. The second time I had a green smoothie, which is really just green juice, and the chocolate chip pancakes. They were just ok. Not bad, not great. Thinner than I like my pancakes to be. We didn't eat lunch or dinner there at all, since there weren't really any great vegetarian options. I thought the drinks in the lounge were good. I had pinot grigio and pinot gris, and the prices seemed really reasonable, although that may be because I live in Chicago and routinely pay $9-10 per drink. The staff: They COULD NOT have been nicer. We never needed help with anything other than getting an extra fan and pillow, but every time we walked past the front desk, the staff there said good morning/afternoon/evening. Every time we walked past a housekeeper they said hello/have a nice day. The servers in the lounge and restaurant were falling over themselves to help us. We stopped at the front desk a few time to ask questions about the area/restaurants/the trail, etc. and they were so friendly and thorough. Loved it! The spa: I got a massage from Heather at Black Rock's Drift spa. Mmmmmm. I did a 45-minute back massage for $90 and added on a 15-minute scalp massage for $30. A little pricey, but it was overall very good. I thought the scalp massage would be more like what my hair dresser does when she shampoos my hair before a cut, which I loooove, but it was different. She kind of cradled my head and rubbed it and also pressed on some pressure points. Didn't feel bad, but was definitely not what I was expecting/hoping. Overall, it was a very nice spa experience. It was quiet, serene, and smelled delicious. I know some people complained about the parking, but I didn't think it was that bad. With the ocean on one side, a national park/trail on the other, and a condo building on another, there was really no other place to put it. And why come to such an outdoorsy area where you plan on walking miles on a trail to complain about walking a few extra feet from the parking lot? Overall, it was an amazing experience. My biggest complaint was the a/c. That is the ONLY reason I would think twice about coming back!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came to the Black Rock for a romantic weekend away, and it was anything but! I can't recommend this place to anyone. Below is (a paraphrased version of) the email I sent to the manager, after she emailed me to ask how our stay was. 1) First of all, there was the problem with our check-in. The front desk was very rude to us, calling our room and demanding that we come immediately to provide a credit card for our stay (my card had become demagnetized and was not working when I checked in). We were staying in a cabin suite separate from the main building, and had already paid for our first nights stay (booked online), and were going to be coming to the main building in about an hour for our dinner reservation at Fetch. Despite this, and the fact that it was pouring rain outside, the gentleman at the front desk said he could not allow us to stay in our room unless we immediately came to the front desk and provided a valid credit card. He said this was hotel policy, and if this is true, your management team seriously needs to rethink this policy - especially since many of the rooms are not connected to the main building. Also, if it was so important, he should have asked me to provide the valid card at check-in, which he didn't. Nor did he ask us for our card when he was booking our dinner reservation after we finished eating lunch at Fetch. 2) This brings me to the problems with Fetch. We ate lunch at Fetch as soon as we arrived, but we were left standing at the front waiting for a table for about 15 minutes before anyone even ACKNOWLEDGED us. There were also about 6-8 other people waiting behind us, and servers kept coming in and out of the restaurant, but no one even stopped to ask if any of us had been helped or if we would like a table. We didn't have any other options, so we just waited...finally a hostess spoke with us after about 15 minutes, then we had to wait another 20 minutes for a table (which is fine). But after sitting down to order, we noticed there were no vegetarian options listed on the lunch menu. The waitress was able to get the kitchen to make something vegetarian...but being on the west-coast of BC with a large vegetarian population, we were shocked to find no options on the menu for those of us who don't eat fish or meat. This is the first time we have experienced this in any restaurant, anywhere. Then, when I ordered my beer (a Granville Island Winter Ale) the waitress came back to tell me it was not available. This is a seasonal winter beer, so I was surprised they already had it in stock...but then I realized your menu must have not been updated since last winter. 3) The parking situation at Blackrock is just atrocious, especially considering how often it rains on the westcoast of the island. The parking spaces are no where near the residences. We were in a detached cabin type room, and there was only 1 parking space between 4 units. 4) The cabin itself is just very poorly built. The first room we were in didn't have any heat in the bathroom, which made the tiles ice cold. I called the front desk to figure out how to turn on the heated floors, but when they sent someone from maintenance he just said, "Oh, I guess they forgot to install them in this room." We were later moved to the suite next door (as an apologetic measure from how we were treated at check-in), and although that room had the heated floors installed, they didn't work properly at all. There was about a 3 square foot area in the bathroom that got warm, but the rest of the tile was ice cold. Also, the workmanship in the rooms and the bathroom was extremely bad. Tiles were crooked, grout was sloppy, the faucet was loose and not properly secured, the cabinets in the kitchen didn't close properly. Also, our fireplace wasn't working until maintenance came to turn on the pilot light. And then, the sound on our TV stopped working. I think this was related to the fireplace. The Samsung sound bars do not work well under very hot conditions, so having the TV located right above the fireplace is a bad idea. The next day, we just left the fireplace turned off so that the TV would continue working (but it would be nice not to compromise one for the other). 5) Then finally, on our second night stay, there was a crazy party going on in the suite above us. We spoke to one of the partiers at around 10pm, she said there were about 12 people up there. They said they would keep it down...but it was very noisy until about midnight or so. I know this isn't a problem specific to the hotel, but it made our second night stay particularly uncomfortable. Overall, our experience at Blackrock was really one of the worst we have ever had. We stay at a lot of 4 and 5 star hotels and resorts, and Blackrock felt more like a $79 Best Western, with poor service.

Yelp
Just okay. Really more of a nice hotel than a resort. The service at the bar was not great, food just okay, and cocktails pretty boring. Internet was basically non-existent. There is a fog horn nearby that sounds constantly, requiring ear plugs at night to sleep. The shower in the rooms was probably the best part - great pressure. The spa was also just ok, my husband thought it was the best massage of his life but mine was just okay, with the masseuse taking many breaks and just not seeming present. I've had better pedicures for $25 at home. Oh, and the trails around the resort were amazing for running. Not a bad place to stay exactly, again, it's a beautiful spot and property, but definitely not amazing, and we will not stay here again.

Yelp
Breathtaking location, great room: love the rainfall-style shower head and the window you can open up between the bathroom and the bedroom that allows you to see the oceanfront from the sink! And we enjoyed some hot tub/pool time overlooking that view in the afternoon. Surprisingly, the staff didn't offer to help with luggage when we checked in (and for the price, I would think that service would be standard). Dinner at the resort restaurant Fetch was delicious. We had cocktails outside overlooking the water and then moved inside for our meal. Service and ambience were top notch, including an unexpected dinner guest: the bald eagle who perched at the top of a tree right next to the patio.

Yelp
Stunning views from Fetch. Staff was very friendly. Food was very good...for the most part. Lamb was so so.. Portions are quite big
