DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE! I wish I had seen the other reviews before I purchased furniture from here, as there is a clear pattern with how things are handled. I purchased a coffee table in Sept 2024 and a chair in November 2024. It’s now June 2025 and I haven’t received either piece. My designer and I followed up multiple times for months, both by phone and email. Our phone calls were avoided and not returned, and we had to send multiple emails before getting a response. We got vague promises of a furniture delivery without a date or any specifics, after we pressed repeatedly. Finally, after being fed up from the run around, I filed a claim with my credit card company in May 2025. Nina is still dragging her feet with her responses to them and I’ve yet to see any refund for what was an expensive table. I am left wondering if this store ever intended to deliver the furniture or if it’s simply some sort of scam or Ponzi scheme. Avoid at all costs.

Horrible customer service. We ordered furniture back in September 2024 and they still haven’t arrived (it’s April now). Nina ignores emails and phone calls. This store is a scam. Do not give her any business. Everything is extremely over priced and she doesn’t care about her customers. UPDATE: I still don’t have my couch. Please do not waste your time and money with this scammer. She has had an excuse to delay our couch delivery every single week. She also changed our couch style entirely in February “if we want it to come by next week.” Next week from that point turned to 3 months later… so September 2024 til May 2025 still no couch. BE WARNED. New update: the couch arrived end of may 2025. And it was not the couch we ordered. We had to change the order, and email, call, ask her many times a week to deliver the couch. So no we are not pleased. Do not order from here.

Same Story. ABSOLUTE SCAM ARTISTS!!! Ordered a mirror last October which never arrived. Unreturned emails, voicemails, phone calls, etc., and have yet to see a refund of $1200. It has been 8 months.

DO NOT ORDER FROM BLACK ROOSTER operating in Leslieville and The Well. We ordered a light fixture that required shipping from the US. The item had to be paid in advance and delivery was promised within 3 weeks. After 3 months of chasing the owner, Nina, for a delivery timeline we asked for a refund. It took a further three weeks to process a cancellation, yet Nina allegedly failed to process the refund through their pay system. In the interim we filed a dispute with Visa as we didn’t trust the retailer would come through with the refund. Turns out we were correct. Visa provided us a refund, but Nina was disputing the refund as she claims we picked up the light fixture when we initially paid for it, which was a complete lie. Many other customers have similar experiences. We would give them no stars if we could.

DO NOT BUY from here. I wish I had seen these reviews before buying. Like so many others before me I ordered something that never arrived. I made the purchase for 2 framed prints in store while on a trip in September and it’s now April. Nina has ghosted me. I have called and emailed with no response and no refund.

Update: The money has now been refunded. I am owed $1202 and have been chasing Nina, the owner, for two months to get my money. Here's the backstory: I bought one light in October 2023 and two in April 2024...they never arrived, and in November 2024 I finally cancelled my orders (she lied and lied about when they would arrive, but never met any of her promises). She has also lied to me several times about when my refunds would arrive, so I'm left with no choice but to contact the BBB and write yet another bad review. I have called more than 20 times, left several emails and even went into the store (twice in one day), but nothing...she's always got an excuse. Her "system" says it cancelled one of the refunds (!?) and that the other was processed, which is false since I have no refund. She said she would e-transfer me money last night...never happened. She said she would contact the payment processing system (Stripe Inc.) on Saturday....also never happened.

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE. Ordered a light from them an the suggestion of my designers. It's been 5 months now and I still do not have this light fixture despite Nina Black (the owner) assuring me that it's arrived and awaiting tracking information on 3 different occasions. She then admitted that it was back ordered and would arrive in November. November came and went. Finally she says they've received it and are awaiting on tracking info.... this was only after I again asked about the light... No proactive correspondence, but more importantly NO LIGHT.

Over 100 days waiting for a bench to be delivered, tons of excuses. Took my money and no product delivered. I’ve asked repeatedly for this to be cancelled and my money returned. Contacting my credit card company today and the Better Business Bureau, and lawyers if need be. Please respond and refund my money.
