Google
I’ve been having Blackseed bagels since Nolita days. And that was the only location. This is by far the best location. They are consistent. My bagels are always perfectly toasted. Eggs perfectly done. Never overcooked. Staff is friendly and they take their time making the bagels despite the rush. You see them delicately making everything to perfection instead of throwing on whatever. They also use really local high quality dairy milks for their coffee. Which a lot of spots stopped doing.

I never thought I would ever crave anything besides a bacon, egg and cheese… until I had Black Seed. I ordered from here for the first time and got the pastrami, egg and cheese with spicy mayo on an everything bagel to go. It came wrapped in the cutest packaging and everything was secure. The moment I took a bite, I was completely satisfied. I even had to slow down because it was that good and I didn’t want to get indigestion 😭. Now, the only con is that I ordered via Uber Eats and it came to a total of $18.33, which is expensive for a breakfast sandwich. But honestly, I didn’t regret a single bite 😭. I definitely recommend Black Seed. If you can go in person, I’d suggest that to avoid the extra fees.

Google
Divine Montreal-style bagels. My top choice was the Classic 2.0, opted to sub the pastrami-spiced salmon for regular salmon. It’s worth the $15 you’ll pay. Loved the pickled green tomato. My friend enjoyed a gluten-free plain bagel and hot honey butter. The restaurant is just counter space and a little tight.

Google
Had an amazing bagel, the Classic 2.0. The pastrami salmon is to die for and paired with the scallion cream cheese, I died and went to heaven. The pickled green tomato was a little much but I just picked it off (I know for the future to 86 it). Will be back for sure. Also, the young lady handing out orders wished everyone a great day. It wasn't a canned statement, she changed it up and sounded very sincere. It was an excellent touch to the day

Google
I live across the street and was excited to make this my new breakfast spot. I’ve been about 6 times and every time it’s disappointing, from them being out of ingredients like bacon for a sandwich, to not toasting a bagel/getting an order completely wrong. I tried one more time today and got a plain bagel with veggie cream cheese. It tasted fine but spending $6 for a smaller than average bagel did not feel good. My bagel was made and wrapped and put on the counter, along with another order. The woman calling out order numbers was engaged in what sounded like a non-work-related, friendly conversation with her coworker. After trying to get their attention to no avail, I grabbed my bagel and left. Last time I will go or suggest it to anyone. I’ll be at the Dunkin’ Donuts a block away where I’ve only ever experienced quality, value, and good customer service.

Google
Very good bagel and flavors. Like that they aren’t huge so they’re perfect for bagel sandwiches

Google
What a Great little corner bagel shoppe Brooklyn. I stayed at the hotel upstairs for a few days and was greatly relieved after trying Blackseed downstairs. Extremely soft bagels mixed with a great cream cheese was exactly what I wanted and exactly what I got. When I walked in I was instantly greeted by a few staff. (Nice, that touch seemed to be lacking recently in other shops) Dominic and rest of the crew were outstanding. Tomorrow I need to protect by bagel by putting lox on it….

Lana P.

Google
This place has the BEST bagels in Brooklyn!. Perfect texture/ flavor, and always fresh. Every time I come here I leave happy. Love this bagel spot so much it’s my favorite!

Yelp
Fresh, light, delish, what a good, quick breakfast should be. The lightly smoked Turkey, Egg & Cheese on an Oat Bagel, divine. The Turkey had a kiss of smoke, not overpowering and fresh. It DIDN'T taste "processed". Pleasantly surprised. The classic BEC (Bacon, Egg & Cheese) on an Everything Bagel, was every bit scrumptious. The bacon tasted fresh & lightly cured, again, NOT processed. Only issue of concern was a mild, white Cheddar used versus the Sharp flavor of a yellow, more robust one. Both sandwiches needed an little oomph from the cheese and the Sharp/Extra Sharp would've been perfect. At a minimum, should've been offered. Overall, great way to start the day.

Yelp
Potentially the most polarizing bagels in NYC. I have only heard either glowing or terrible reviews of Black Seed Bagels, so I was eager to try them myself. They do a unique rendition of Montreal style bagels, which are smaller and chewier than New York bagels, and baked in a wood-burning oven. This shop in Downtown Brooklyn is small, with limited bar seating. The staff were friendly and efficient, and packed my bagels to go with care. I thoroughly enjoyed the "Classic 2.0" which features deeply savory pastrami lox, juicy heirloom tomatoes, red onion, and plenty of scallion cream cheese. The Everything bagel was just okay. I did not mind the density, but it was on the dry side and lacking flavor. The AB&J (house made almond butter and raspberry preserves), had the potential to be great. But alas, the Plain bagel I ordered it on was grocery store quality, and tasted stale. I would not come back here.
google avatar

Renee E.

Yelp
Solid 3.5 stars. Bagels and schmear are on point, but the lox could be better. Coffee? Not great.

Susan K.

Yelp
Bagels excellent. Staff efficient. Bagels are smaller but sandwiches were great. Clean establishment.
google avatar

Yelp
Love the bagels + they give you a good amount of cream cheese. The Bushwick Black Tea is excellent. Friendly and fast service. Clean atmosphere and short wait - seating is available for waiting.

Yelp
The service at the ordering counter was friendly unfortunately, our bagel sandwich experience was not. 7 other people with numbers after us got their order first. After we inquired about it, the guy said they were making it and then proceeded do begin fulfilling the order. We took the order to Brooklyn Bridge Park to enjoy our brunch with a nice view and realized that out of the 4 bagel sandwiches we ordered, two had issues. One has no bacon despite having ordered it with bacon and the other was inedible because of how burned it was. It was completely charred. The other two were fine but were not standouts. The ham was not spoiled but it wasn't great tasting ham. Overall, I am disappointed in our experience and my mom was left without a bagel to eat because hers was the charred bagel.

Yelp
I've walked past this location many times with the mental note to stop in and check them out. It wasn't until a friend was in town visiting recently that I finally made my way there. It's a tight location but there is some seating and during the warm months there is more seating outdoors. The service and food was good. And I love that they have plain and everything gluten free bagels. I enjoyed the boca breakfast sandwich on a gluten free everything bagel with a hibiscus elderberry ice tea. I'd got back and bring out of town guests for tea/coffee and bagels.
google avatar

Angela Y.

Yelp
Workers are nice, good amount of options, pretty quick service, and indoor seating - it's just the bagels are a little lacking. The bagel itself isn't a thick fluffy New York bagel but a thinner kind, and my egg sandwich needed more flavor.
google avatar

Coco P.

Yelp
They feed you like one of the family and treat their customers with kindness and great care!
google avatar

Matthew M.

Yelp
Bagels are bad (dry and small), the sandwiches are rushed, employees are overworked. Save your money and go to Court St. bagels or Smith st. Bagels instead.
google avatar

Meredith F.

Yelp
Classic salmon bagel sandwich - SO GOOD! A must try when in BK! They have everything!

Yelp
I recently got in an argument with some of my friends about breakfast sandwiches. There were very strong opinions about what sort of meat is the best, what condiments should be used, what bread it should be on...all the things. We discussed scrapple, for Pete's sake. During this heated discussion, one of my friends said, in a hilariously inappropriate way that I choose not to repeat here, that the BEC (bacon egg and cheese) from Black Seed is excellent. I live right down the street from this Black Seed location, so I decided to investigate. For science. I can report that the BEC at Black Seed is in fact excellent. It definitely hits the spot, especially when I am horrifically hungover, which happens from time to time. Overall, I like Black Seed bagels. They are good bagels. I have to admit though, I don't see myself coming in on a regular basis, despite living down the street. Because down the street is in Brooklyn. There are lots of good bagels, and lots of good BECs. And I'm finding it hard to overlook the fact that this BEC is $12 (with tax and tip), and just about everywhere else is around half that. So, good bagels and sandwiches, but the value proposition is a little off.

KJ W.

Yelp
Pretty nice bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich however I felt like the bagel was a bit dry. Service was friendly and quick.

Yelp
We tried Black Seed when it was on Court Street and weren't blown away. Thought we would try again as this location is much closer to home. First - great location, friendly staff, and cute spot in general. We grabbed a bag of the Stumptown Black Seed blend coffee beans - very tasty. As far as the bagels, they are solidly OK. I listened to an interview with a lady who makes them, their background, reasoning, ratio between NYC and Montreal style. That made me want to try again. We grabbed 4 everything bagels and brought them home to (lightly) toast and prepare with all the fixins (lox, tomato, red onion, caper, cream cheese.) As I understand it, these bagels are intentionally created as a sandwich. As such, they are OK! I think that if I could get a fresh bagel, it could have some real potential. However, they taste like day-old bagels at any local shop where you are actually eating fresh bagels. They are not to be compared to a fresh, NYC bagel - warm and not needing a toast. I asked when they were MADE when I picked them up. The lady said she didn't know exactly - "overnight." My thoughts on it being next to a hotel are mixed. On one hand, someone from out of town might enjoy theM. I'm sure they are better than the average midwest or grocery bagel. But if that's the only bagel a visitor tries in the city, then that person is missing out. (And would find my pretentious view of the best bagel in the world to be even more annoying.) - note, I am originally from the Midwest- Anyway, in conclusion, 3 stars is not bad - A-ok! If you want a bagel sandwich, you won't be angry. But if you are looking for a fresh bagel, probably not the best spot.

Yelp
Efficient AF. That's my takeaway from Black Seed. Place an online order, pick up from the entrance on Schermerhorn (around the corner). No lines, no need to worry if they'll forget your tofu scallion CC, tomato etc because your order was not clearly understood. That all said, and this is personal preference because the bagel and CC were perfectly prepared, I found it rather tasteless. Maybe it was just me? I appreciated the texture of the fluffy CC, but it was lacking something. I'm just more of an Ess-a-Bagel, Bagelsmith or David's fan, I suppose. Eh, New Yorkers and their damn bagels. Don't listen to me.
google avatar

Mystique L.

Yelp
Great service, fresh bagels and amazing coffee....a must visit breakfast spot. Ordered bagels to go no problem.
google avatar

Russ S.

Yelp
Meh. The bagel was extremely greasy, my bacon, egg, and cheese had a little strip of fatty bacon, and the egg was still mostly uncooked. Who puts a runny egg on a bagel sandwich? And the cook was rude. If I can't understand whose name you are calling out you might give the wrong order to the patron, which is what happened here. Drew or Russ? Pretty far apart, you'd think. Absolutely not a do again. Not anywhere in NYC where bagels are normally art!

Katherine M.

Yelp
I go in once in a long while when the moment arises that I'm already home. Also too tired and away from the bagel stores like the ones I grew up with in NY. The kind from the old days that have fresh and warm bagels in the morning. Tasty and well toasted if requested. Fast service since it is a bagel store. This is none of that. This is fine for the hotel guests who probably don't venture out for a bagel since it's more convenient to go downstairs. I won't ever go back. Let the hotel guests indulge in this less than and I will go to the NY bagel stores of old.

Yelp
Great food options!!!! Great vibe!!!!! Lovely and helpful staff who are friendly and boost my spirits!!!
google avatar

Erika N.

Yelp
Sadly, very ok bagels, especially for the price. I asked for the bagel to come toasted and it was not toasted, and it didn't taste very fresh, like a day old bagel. Asked for no onions, there were onions. And the lox and tomato didn't taste very fresh either. They did give a lot of cream cheese which probably had the best flavor of anything in the sandwich. Wouldn't order from here again.

Yelp
This Black Seed Bagels location has some outside sitting area (summer time only). There are 4 or 5 tables outside. So, those tables are usually occupied by people who are not customers of the cafe. People don't even purchase a cup of coffee and just sit down at the tables. And management of the place don't do anything about it. Note that the bagel at this place costs about $15-20. Today I bought a bagel and wanted to spend about 20 minutes (part of my lunch time) at the table outside. ALL tables were occupied by people who did have food from the place. I told the cashier about it. The cashier was polite, friendly and responsive. He went outside and nicely asked people who finished/ didn't want to have food from the place to move from the tables...nothing changed. They kept sitting as they were. Of course, he didn't ask them the second time. So, I payed $18 for a bagel and I had to go and find a place to have that bagel. Also note that it's IMPOSIBLE to stay and have food INSIDE because of FOOD SMELL. They don't have a good fan and they bake bagels right there. Imagine that smell of bread and everything bagel topping baked! I understand that it's popular to be ultra tolerant, understanding and polite (LOL) but I'm not giving my money and time to the place who don't care about their customers and care more about by passers. There are plenty of lunch places around where I can buy food and actually have food at the table!

Yelp
I was holding out before reviewing this place as I wanted to give them an opportunity to redeem themselves. First two times I came here, the bagels were burnt. Seriously guys, it's a bagel shop, don't burn the bagels! But since it had just opened, I refrained from giving a bad review. My boyfriend loves coming here and getting the pastrami or Turkey and all the fancy bagels, where I'm just a cream cheese kinda gal. Which is why I get pissed when the bagels are burnt. Anyway! The last few times I've been here, I ordered the Boca, and let me tell you, this bagel is the business! So delicious and tasty and not too messy to eat, which is tough when you're throwing fried eggs in the mix. So they've redeemed themselves with the Boca. However, as other people have pointed out, the prices here border on outrageous. It's just bagels. Service is friendly though!
google avatar

Calli B.

Yelp
They took 20 minutes to hand me a container of cream cheese then gave me the wrong 3 out of 4 bagels. Are they ok over there? They seem to barely be functioning.
google avatar

Manan D.

Yelp
Gave this place a try as I moved into the neighborhood. It's nothing super special but it hit the spot and tasted good. Reminds me of La Bagel which I used to frequent before when I lived near it - a little overpriced but satisfying. Both are a bit too salty and don't have the freshest bagels, but are perfectly fine for just a morning bagel. And if you see my picture there is a lot of bacon which I always appreciate. The place was super empty inside which I guess worked out for faster service compared to some places I've seen with lines wrapping around the block. But it is a bit sad given how spacious it is indoors.
google avatar

Jacqueline C.

Yelp
The Classic 2.0 was a scrumptious start to my morning. I thoroughly enjoyed the unique twist on this lox bagel, featuring pickled onions and tomatoes that added a deliciously balanced tang. Thanks Black Seed!
google avatar

Sherrie W.

Yelp
Fast paced bagel and coffee shop in downtown Brooklyn, we got a cold brew coffee, a cappuccino and an everything bagel for just under $12. The coffees were fine but the bagel was really hard. It's good for a cup of coffee, but stick to the neighborhood places for bagels.
google avatar

Rachael M.

Yelp
The staff was nice and I got my bagel very fast. I'm glad they have multiple types of vegan cream cheeses and the labeling is very clear, but the bagel sandwich itself was just okay. A solid bagel if you want it, but other NYC bagels are softer and larger than these, which I prefer.
google avatar

Ray N.

Yelp
I usually don't like New York bagels, but these were great. Came back and got a dozen to go.
google avatar

Mandy C.

Yelp
Not great. The first place I've been to in NY where I would prob never go again. We got two bagels that cost $24 dollar in total! The BOCA was flimsy and did not hold up as a sandwich. I am eating with a fork as we speak. We asked for a bagel with just salmon and cream cheese and for some reason, they said no even though the bagels aren't pre-made. Makes no sense. Not worth trying.
google avatar

Sha-Meka F.

Yelp
I saw this spot on the walk by coming from the cleaners. Going to my car parked so far away. First time in there, extremely clean. Very organized. You order the food in the front, get your receipt and pick your food up on the side. The sandwich was delicious. Bagels were fresh and plenty of turkey on there as well. I love bagels, I would definitely go back.
google avatar

Sydney L.

Yelp
Live in the neighborhood so figured I'd give a new bagel a shot! Absolutely not a great bagel. Not even a decent bagel in my opinion. If you told me you got this bagel for $1 from a food cart I wouldn't be surprised. Incredibly expensive for a tiny no frills bagel. Everything bagel has no everything season on it. I believe the hallmark of a great bagel is it doesn't need to be toasted...I would definitely get this bagel toasted as cold it just isn't very nice. The scallion cream cheese was good though. If you're visiting from out of town walk over to Court St for a far superior bagel.

Jen S.

Yelp
Ordered a toasted bagel. Got an untoasted bagel. Otherwise bagel seemed okay. Restaurant very corporate and sanitary.
google avatar

Stephanie Y.

Yelp
Quick spot to grab bagels - they're fluffy and not dense. I get a cinnamon raisin with vegetable cream cheese which is ~$6. They're generous with the cream cheese and it comes out quickly but it's still quite a bit for a bagel + cream cheese. Would still swing by after a workout at many of the nearby spots for a quick bite.
google avatar

Genise G.

Yelp
The absolute best Customer Service and great bagels just the right size and very filling. One of my favorite places to have a Bagel
google avatar

Caroline L.

Yelp
Have been coming to grab a bagel after hitting the gym. Love that you can order in advance and that it is almost always ready before the pick up time. A typical new york bagel, it is large but fluffy with a good bite on the outside. I've been getting a blt avocado. The bacon has been on point, the veggies fresh and delicious. The scallion scream cheese with their lox pastrami is on point. So why 5 stars to start? I've been here maybe 6 times now and have tried almost their entire menu. Add in that it's next to my wonderful gym and there's almost no wait for everything and we've got a winning combo for my mornings.
google avatar

Rob Y.

Yelp
Decent bagel place. Very, very busy. Even online orders you'll have a nice long wait. Seems to me they need more equipment back there. All that staff back there with one griddle and oven can't be it.
google avatar

Anjelica K.

Yelp
Will not pick up the phone when it comes to delivery issues. Redirects you to third party partner even though it's not Doordash's fault. DoorDash had assigned a driver and when they got there, my food was not ready (30 mins in) and they had to keep waiting so they let go of that Driver to assign him to more efficient orders. We have now been waiting for 80 MINUTES (and counting) because Black Seed did not prepare our food. It's unfortunate that neither the Williamsburg or Bushwick locations deliver to our location in Fort Greene cause we are subject to this bs smh We're huge fans of Black Seed but avoid this location on delivery if you can

Yelp
Ok after receiving a $50 gift card from corporate for the bolt in my bagel i went back and got a multigrain everything bacon egg and cheese with avocado (it's really the only place for this type of sandwich around my work now unfortunately, since all the deli's are terrible now). The bacon was delicious the bagel had much better structure and flavor (probably the multigrain) and the egg was well cooked. Avocado was well ripened and fresh. Item was ready when I went for my pickup time and the atmosphere was cozy.
google avatar

Kendra H.

Yelp
Although it looked promising, worst gluten free bagel I've ever had. I literally had to spit it out. They only get 2 stars for having the option but I do not recommend.

Pedro C.

Yelp
Bagels are awesome! Great tasting salmon and warm bagel! Coffee is also good too, fresh and flavory.
google avatar

Gene B.

Yelp
They sell Yesterdays bagels on Saturday morning. Would have given 1 star if the rest of the local options weren't worse. Seriously guys, you can't sell cold day old bagels in Brooklyn and call yourselves a bagel shop. Step it up.
google avatar

Honey D.

Yelp
Incredible bagels! Best gluten free bagels in NY. Creative specialty bagel combos. Try the garlic confit cream cheese with cherry tomatoes. I can't wait to take my out of towners here!

Molie G.

Yelp
Rude staff and overpriced, nothing special food. Get your bagels literally anywhere else in Brooklyn

M And J.

Yelp
The coffee is all good the food is all right but the customer service is horrible! Every time I come in to order the employees act like they are being bothered and have attitudes

Kelsey F.

Yelp
I've heard mixed things about Black Seed but decided to try it myself since the sandwiches sound so good. Ordered a turkey ruben but received ham, a tiny bit of cheese and like 3 pieces of kraut. They didn't put any Russian dressing on it (best part of a Ruben IMO!). The turkey and avocado sandwich that we also ordered was better but in both cases I asked for toasted bagels and neither were toasted at all. We also did both GF bagels and they were super chewy, maybe they would've been better if they had been toasted. FYI, if you're also GF, Pio has hands down the best GF bagels in all of NYC! Would eat here again in a pinch but otherwise probably won't bother.
google avatar

Kurt N.

Yelp
Pretty solid NYC bagels. Good enough that if I'm staying in the neighborhood it is where I bring them back west from.
google avatar

Eliot B.

Yelp
Wow these are some truly fantastic Bagels!!!! AAA++++ This definitely about to become a regular stop for this guy . Yummmmmmm

Heidi V.

Yelp
Excellent coffee and fast pick up service. Glad I ordered ahead to have it ready when I arrived.

Matt S.

Yelp
Sunday morning, super rude people at the front and making the bagels. Didn't encounter one friendly person. Great work, keep it up! Location in Brooklyn
