I’ve been a very loyal customer of Black Seed Café, visiting solely for their Chocolate Dubai Strawberry Cups. I’ve recommended this place to many others because they truly had the best around.
Last night, I ordered a large cup and when I got home, several of the strawberries were mushy, discolored and almost rotten-tasting, which ruined the entire cup because the juices ran through. Considering these cups are $18, I returned today with photos of the bad strawberries expecting a simple replacement.
The young lady who made my cup yesterday called someone else over, and I showed her the photos. Instead of understanding, she told me I should’ve brought the cup back (which was not possible as I purchased at 7:30pm) and even criticized my photos because it was “just three strawberries" and claimed the strawberries were fresh. She went on to say they’ve had people “scam them,” and the best she could do was a small replacement.
I do not need to drive back up there and make up lies about rotten fruit, and it’s honestly ridiculous, and irritating, when you try to support a small business and this is how they choose to handle the situation. This could have been resolved so easily, but instead they chose to lose a loyal customer, and any future recommendations, over one large cup that I had clear proof was bad.
I accepted the small replacement because of the price, but I won’t be returning.
