Black Sheep Coffee – A Winter’s Tale of Mild Panic & Hot Redemption
Popped into Black Sheep Coffee for a nice light-on-the-stomach filter brew—something warm enough to remind me it’s winter, but not warm enough to remind me I’m fragile. They gave me a choice between two blends, which was both exciting and terrifying, because nothing tests your decision-making skills like coffee you haven’t met yet.
I bravely chose one… only to discover it wouldn’t fill a regular cup. Brilliant. Exactly the sort of plot twist I expect from my caffeine journeys. So I asked them to mix the two blends—feeling like a renegade barista myself—only to find the result was… not quite warm. More polite handshake than toasty hug.
But then! The barista, absolute legend, swoops in with an Americano offer—fresh, hot, and basically on fire. This cup was hotter than my life choices, and honestly, that’s all I ever ask for.
Also had the Blueberry Bakewell, which was so delicious I briefly considered proposing to it.
Staff are professional, witty, and genuinely know their customer service—not the fake politeness you sometimes get, but the “we actually care and we’ll save your coffee-related day” kind.
In short: went in cold, left caffeinated, warm, and mildly emotionally attached to the team. Highly recommended.
