Really cool place and we loved the ambiance and service we got here! The food we got was so good, but I requested a hot sauce pentagram for our pizza and the sauce was way too spicy for us to eat. If you want a pentagram on your pizza, get a different sauce unless you really like the heat! The brews we tried were good, but weren’t cold, which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. They had rock painting last night as well which was a fun activity to do while we ate! Grabbed some stickers for our beer fridge and they have the coolest brewery stickers we picked up on our trip.

The macaroni and cheese was simply divine, a true comfort food that delighted the taste buds with its creamy richness and savory goodness. Each velvety bite was infused with a harmonious blend of cheeses that melted together perfectly, It was not just a meal; it was an experience, evoking cherished memories. The delightful crunch of the golden-brown topping added an irresistible contrast to the creamy interior, making every mouthful an adventure in flavor. In short, this mac and cheese was nothing short of a masterpiece,

Stopped in and couldn’t be more happy I did! CJ gave me great service with their wide selection of beers. Got the Fruit AF which was a fantastic ale and a slice of pepperoni that was huge! Definitely coming back

Google
Stopped here on the 4th. Wow what a surprise. The pizza was great NY style. Very tasty. The beer was also great. Nice death metal playing.

Google
Got a pizza with onion and jalapeno, a bunch of brews. Everything was fantastic. The pizza was so good - very fresh onion and jalapeno. You can use hot sauces that they make - the garlic red was my favorite. The bloodsucker ale is made with beets and apples, and I loved it but if you dont like beets, dont get it as the taste comes through. Because I love beets, I found this beer earthy and drinkable. Also tried the spiritual sesh (my favorite - complex and sweet), petal to the metal (tastes like spring - very floral), beer hammer (very sweet, very very strong, almost like if whiskey and mead made a baby), el colorado chile (light and garden forward), and cluster fux (light, effervescent, citrusey and cider-like). Service here was great and charming, as well as the art and music. I highly recommend for people who want a humble, genuine place and a great time. I had an exceptional time.

Google
Service was great. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The food is amazing!! Will keep going back every time I'm in Denver!!

Google
This place use to have awesome pizza. Here’s what a $8.50 slice of pizza looks like at this place now. Prices have skyrocketed and service has gone down. I asked about the $11, 2 slices and a soda lunch special and she said that’s for onion and red sauce only pizza or something useless along those lines. The bartender was way too cool for school, lol. I’ve only been here a handful of times but I’ll definitely never be back!

Google
Solid metal brewery. The pizza is always fantastic. I highly recommend the Burning Blood pizza.

Yelp
One of my new favorite breweries in Denver has an exceptional selection of beer; every one I've tried has provided a unique and memorable experience. The atmosphere is perfect for metal enthusiasts and rock fans alike. They offer a wide variety of tasty, unique beers, and I'm especially impressed by the high alcohol content across the board. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. The music is also fantastic and adds to the great vibe. Additionally, I love their little game corner! Parking is hard at least it was that day.

Yelp
Black Sky has some great food! We've only really had the pizza, but it's great! I had the Burning Blood Pizza - a "Jalapeno popper" pie, bacon, jalapeno, cheddar, mozzarella & cream cheese. My husband had The Black Sky - Pepperoni, jalapeno, mozzarella & cream cheese. Both are delicious!! He also enjoyed a citrus-infused lager - Clusterfux.

Yelp
Amazing selection of beer, not over-reliant on IPA variants! Great food as well, and metal music on the sound system.

Yelp
Probably one of our favorite beer stops we made in Denver! The staff was awesome- shoutout to Eric, the best bartender we chilled with on short trip. Metal music, thin slice pizza, and some tasty beers- what more can you ask for. We tried a lot of the beers with small tastes- broos light was solid and pretty much loved every beer we tried. The pizza was fantastic- the crust was so thin and they hook it up with the toppings. Nice to be able to get just a slice since we didn't have a fridge to bring a big pie home to. They have an outdoors, games you can play, and the music is great.

Yelp
Don't let the outside fool you. Located right across from Trade, this place features a very wide list of beers and really tasty things crust pizza. You order at the bar and then they bring you the pizza to your table. The bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. The wait for the pizza was a bit on the long side but so worth it!

Yelp
We've passed this brewery a million times, but only have been in twice. We really need to go more often. First off, you can't beat the service and friendly staff. You can tell they all enjoy coming to work. That makes a huge difference! The beers are really good. They have an excellent variety on tap for any kind of beer lover. I've actually had the food twice, and the kitchen does a fantastic job. If you have time, go for a pizza. If not, you can't go wrong with a sandwich and soup. Now, this is just a personal opinion and of course I know I was at Black Sky Brewery. But again for me, the music was a bit loud. I'm more of a classical music guy than heavy metal, although I can appreciate all kinds of music. I guess I've turned into my dad. Will I be back? Absolutely! Would I recommend Black Sky Brewery? In a heartbeat! Go check it out for yourself.

Yelp
Awesome place to grab a drink and a snack to eat! The bartenders are great! Would recommend to anyone who likes metal and booze.

Yelp
It's been years since I've been here, found my felt in the area at lunchtime and popped in. The bartender Eric was a great conversationalist and very kind about recommendations. The lunch special is 2 New York size slices and a pint for $13 which is a great deal. They have a daily meat and vegetarian slice available. The pizza was better than I remembered. I liked this place first for the metal and the ambiance. It's just comfortable if this is your jam. It reminds me of my friends basement in high school if there was a bar. I am very happy I came back and look forward to making it regular. Eric really was great, he deserves some props!

Yelp
My first stop when I arrived to Denver was this brewery. All I wanted was some good beer after a six hour drive from ABQ. I got there about an hour and a half before closing but I guess they closed early that night because they already had all the stools up and were doing their cleaning. So I left. Came back a few weeks later and it was a great experience. I got a flight of some solid beers. The bartender was great. Very friendly and even warned me about the Fear the Peach Reaper before I ordered a full pint of this spicy beer. I'm glad I only got the taster because it was spicy and would've wrecked my stomach with a full pint. The taproom had a nice vibe to it. I enjoyed my visit.

Yelp
Lovely staff & good beer! I just sat the bar to read on a Sunday, so it wasn't very busy. The music was metal, but it wasn't super loud so not disrupting at all. The pretzel was fine - nothing special, just classic yummy bread & salt!
google avatar

Emily T.

Yelp
It's an unassuming looking place from the outside, but inside is kinda dark with hard rock vibes. The service was outstanding, the beers were good, and the pizza was great. I loved their in-house hot sauce (if they sold it, I would have bought some!). A great little stop on our Denver beer tourism trip.

Yelp
Pizza. Metal. Badassery. This place has it all. Awesome staff with piping hot pizza that will make your tastebuds do cartwheels. Cj, the bartender is super friendly and has great recommendations. I had no idea what I wanted but I knew I wanted something GOOD. She recommended the Jalepeno Bacon. She said it with such conviction, I had no CHOICE but to give in to my temptations. And so... 5 minutes (not even) later. She drops this HUUUUUGE slice of pizza with equal amounts of jalapenos as it did bacon. The bacon was sizzling, the cheese was bubbling, and I immediately indulged! Their pizzas are the size of two average slices. It is a full meal! They had vendors around selling dope art, jewelry, and more. I will check more of that side out soon, but this doesn't end here. I got their Ginger Mule.. AND O M G.. it was beyond delicious. It paired so well with the pizza, I damn near wanted to slap her for making me feel so guilty from all the goodness. She told me about how she implemented this recipe at a restaurant she loved in NOLA. She brought the idea here, which is how the Mule got put on the menu. It is quite easily the best Mule I have ever had! Black Sky still has me high... on pie.

Yelp
Stopped in for some food and sips after a park cleanup in Lakewood and this place was nearby. Really glad we checked it out!! The bartender was super cool and helpful with us while choosing a tall glass of something we would enjoy. After some tastes, we both ended up with the Blackwater Berry, which is like a red wine beer. It is so good! I want it again!! To eat, I built my own pizza. Was excited to see some different ingredients like cream cheese and roast beef - so I did that along with mushrooms. It did not disappoint! I've had cream cheese on pizza before, at a place in Milwaukee where I used to live so even though it might sound weird at first, it's actually very good! (obviously, you must already like cream cheese). Looking forward to another visit to this place. It's pretty dark inside, not a lot of windows or light, which is fine for wintertime anyway! There are also some games inside to play. It has a very welcoming vibe!

Yelp
Great beer, nice service and liked the ambiance too. Wished they served pizza a little later.

Yelp
Ok, to be honest, I've been here a million times and have been holding out on a review forever because I didn't want to share, lol. This is my FAVORITE brewery in Denver. The beer is pretty good but it's the absolutely awesome atmosphere with the coolest gear your going to find. The servers and bartenders are always super friendly and knowledgeable. Metal show?! Yes! So much fun! And they also have some legit pizza!! And if you go here, you have to try the "hot beef injection". This is the weirdest most delicious and ridiculous drink. Shot of whiskey with a shot of au jus. Just do it. You'll thank me... most likely, lol
google avatar

Yelp
We went here for Harry Potter trivia, which was really fun! I was pleasantly surprised they had cocktails in addition to beer. In addition to drinks, we got a half cheese half pepperoni pizza and the garlic nubs. Both were really tasty, but the nubs were definitely a bit greasy! The music choice was quite bizarre, it would go from Frank Sinatra to Nate Dogg, to Abba, etc.

Angel P.

Yelp
Loved the beers! Very flavorful but not too heavy/hazy. There was even a watermelon flavored one. Pizza had the perfect crust and toppings were just right.

Yelp
What a Yelp find. I can sum up my entire experience at Black Sky Brewery in one word - CREATIVE. This place oozes creativity! From the moment you roll up to this slightly off the beaten path brewery, you just get a vibe that a lot of passion went into creating a cool brewery experience. The decor inside is totally rad and metal AF. I loved the anchoring wall inside the tasting room with their logo plastered like a billboard of death metal and beer. It sets the tone for a fun time. The beer is inventive and creative. I started off with the Bloodsucker which is created from baked beets. Who knew you could make beer from beets, and even more shockingly who knew it would taste so good?! There was also a beer on the menu that featured green chilies and sweet potatoes. Although I didn't try it, it just sounded so creative. I opted for their hybrid lager-IPA for my second drink. It was delightfully hoppy with a smooth finish of a lager. It's a crushable beer drinker's beer. I also ordered two slices of pizza from Black Sky Brewery. Wow was it good. The dough has a touch of sourdough flavor and there were two different types of cheese. Peep the pics, the slices are also giant! I couldn't even finish both pieces. Finally, I cannot say enough about the customer service!!! The bartender was so genuinely nice. After I ordered my first beer he said "make yourself at home," and I truly believe he meant it. He constantly came out from behind the bar to check on me and ask if I needed anything else. He brought samples too! I was blown away by his kindness and care while I was hanging at Black Sky Brewery. If I lived in Denver, Black Sky Brewery would be my go-to spot every weekend.

Yelp
Bad ass place. Super friendly. Cool vibe. Rock n roll. Great choice of beers. Fun environment

Yelp
Head bangers ball beer! PG13 reviews folks! The best thing here beside the unassuming air of this place is the Whore's milk. Fuuuuck! So good Thursday nights before we go watch Drag Race we get some dark metal and pizza and a drink. It's always an eclectic mix of patrons. Playing games. Shooting the shit or just relaxing after a hard day in the local dark metal hangout. The music selection is a bit of a push but I found a couple of songs worth listening to. Some real fringe stuff but probably right on par for the locals. The bartenders are nice but not super friendly. Just enough to keep you chowing and drinking so I guess that's ok. They have an above average food menu that slants to pizza, sandwiches and bread "stuff". Decent options for vegetarians too. As for beer, well I don't drink it but they have it. Somewhere around 25 options. Ale of Minerva and Stout of the Sorcerer...you get the feel for the naming convention here. Full bar which is where the Whore's Milk comes into the picture...its so good. Home made root beer and some other booze and ice and wow. Yummy. See pics Come chill. Drink eat. Enjoy!

Yelp
The Haze of Torment is the ideal hazy ipa. Thanks, Taco! It was delicious! Thoughts on a milkshake ipa?
google avatar

Brooke W.

Yelp
You must try their most popular rootbeer. You can grab any of their beers or homemade rootbeer to go in these awesome cans, made fresh to order. Service was on point the bartender was well versed in the beers and made great suggestions. He also had a great sense of humor (see photo). We tried three different beers all were delicious and unique. We ordered a pizza and the mac and cheese. The pizza dough was very flavorful and toppings were fresh. The mac and cheese was rich and had a great beer flavor, they used their porter today. Dip the pizza crust in the mac and cheese sauce and you will be a very happy little head banger!! We will be back for sure

Peter Y.

Yelp
Had the Gose and the pizza! Wow the pizza was great! Very thin crust and great flavor! They also have cocktails!
google avatar

Allie R.

Yelp
So happy to see Black Sky back at it. I was scared for a bit that they wouldn't open back up. We love their beer, but more importantly we love the Black Sky pizza! It's one of my favorites. Fantastic combo of pepperoni, jalapeño, and cream cheese. Seriously you can not go wrong with any of the beer or pizza here. And if you are into death metal this is the place for you.

Jake B.

Yelp
This is presented as a brutal black metal bar? Not really feelin that vibe at all. Volume on music was surprisingly low, everyone was super mellow and relaxed, tried two of their signature cocktails which sucked, then a glass of porter which actually was quite good. Didn't try anything from the kitchen... didn't see anyone eating their famous pizza either. I am giving you an extra star for the lock on your men's room toilet... good luck kicking that door in! Smoking area is picnic tables under canopies with electric heaters. Don't get too plastered and wander across the street or you might wake up with a sore bum. We'll give this place another try. Perhaps it will be more lively. Honestly, I've seen more excitement in a nursing home than this brutal black metal bar. Feel safe bringing grandma here. Everyone seemed very nice and I wasn't scairt at all... even when they killed the goat... no, wait... that's NEXT weekend.

Yelp
Fun spot for good pizza and beer. CJ behind the bar took care of me very well and was super friendly. I had the Corpse Paint pie, which hit the spot, along with a saison and an IPA.
google avatar

Stu W.

Yelp
One of a kind. Great food, even better beer, but bring your metal ears, it's not for the meager and faint!
google avatar

Austin n.

Yelp
Great spot with really good pizza and salad. The jalapeño poppers were not fried but fresh and delicious. The beer selection is also amazing. Say and spoke to Slav and one of the bartenders for a spell and they were both great. From the apps, to pizza, to beer, and service it was a great experience with delicious food.
google avatar

Dan B.

Yelp
the fuckin hazy tastes like they brewed it in an old homeless man's belly button in the middle of the hottest day of the year GREEN FUCKIN DRUID BLACK FUCKIN SKY get a whole pizza bitch not a slice

Jesse B.

Yelp
Out of town and visiting. I've had a weird day. I almost threw hands with a homeless man over NOTHING. I think he was crazy. Also got hit by a car in Boulder while I was riding a bike. Guy was super nice but this was after he hit me. Haha All this to say that Our bartender, CJ,Greeted us and had the presence of a professional. My girlfriend is a bartender, I know the troubles that come with the territory.. so I have respect for her attitude! Props. Keep her around your business
google avatar

Kelsey S.

Yelp
Pizza here was killer. We waited awhile for food but it was also a Friday night. You order from the bar for beers. Good beer selection. Cool spot to checkout.
google avatar

Taylor G.

Yelp
Super fun metal-themed bar with a great selection of beers and cocktails. They also had a great variety of vegan options including chili and pizzas! Absolutely delicious. The service was quick and friendly.

the g.

Yelp
Killer place with great music good pizza nice staff and a huge hot sauce collection by Danny Cash. The beer selection is large and always evolving with a monthly selection February being stout month. Lunch deal is a solid way to go.

Elysia F.

Yelp
I would like to start by saying the bartender, CJ was delightful, engaging and really cares about pouring you a beer you would enjoy. Her male coworker on the other hand, total opposite and then some. He refused to serve me a flight (after ordering food) because it was "too busy" on a Wednesday at 7:30pm. He then goes on a cigarette break, not getting me anything and I waited, empty handed. When he got back, he asked the woman next to me for her ID again. Constantly calling her random pet names like "Sweetie". It was odd to watch her get re-ID'd when she clearly finished a previous beer. All the creepy vibes, since she was alone. He was a total Buzzkill for the evening with a matching personality. Because of this we have no desire of returning or recommending Black Sky Brewery to anyone.
google avatar

Randy R.

Yelp
We had a sampler of several beers. Every one was week and insipid, except for a very pronounced and obnoxious citrus flavor. The music is definitely head banging metal, and it was loud. Some people can actually listen to it without getting a headache, but all we wanted to do was leave.
google avatar

Nichelle N.

Yelp
This was our second visit and I have to say, even better than the first time! The beers were awesome, pretzel was tasty for a snack split between two people, and our server was super sweet. It is a fun place, even if metal music isn't quite your jam. It's warm and welcoming for everyone! Just try it!
google avatar

Stephanie V.

Yelp
I don't know why some people give black sky a bad rap. First of all, it's one of the few breweries that serves food. It's actually pretty darn good too. I've had their pizza twice now and both times it was delicious! You can also get pizza by the slice. I've had the bbq bchicken one and cheese. I felt it was perfect amounting nt of sauce and seasonings. As for the beer, it's good in my opinion! I'm not a beer connoisseur by any means but they have a good variety for all tastes. They even have a very disgusting beer that tastes like feet. The heavy metal is definitely their shtick. The two times I've been there it wasn't blaring but you have to tolerate it. It's pretty interesting actually as it's music I wouldn't normally listen to. It's a brewery, that serves food, clean bathrooms, pinball tables, and good service! Pro tip: limited street parking.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
One of the many stops I have been eager to make since moving to Denver and happy to report it was a great success! If you love and enjoy metal music and it's atmosphere this is the place for you. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and dining. The menu is all listed as "metal items". The best thing to stick with here that you will enjoy is the pizzas IMO.
google avatar

SnowChik B.

Yelp
You might wait a while for service but it was an interesting atmosphere, good music. VERY DELICIOUS PIZZA so it was worth the wait. Like many places, they seem to be short staffed but that didn't effect the quality of the food or drink so if you have some time relax and sip a while the pizza is worth the wait!
google avatar

John A.

Yelp
Definitely a one of a kind gem - we absolutely loved it! Great beer selection, great service and the food is outstanding - especially the pizza! I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great atmosphere and a solid sense of community. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Jill A.

Yelp
For a biker bar this place is a five. For a dinner spot, 2. I would not hunt BSB out but we were in the neighborhood, hungry and it was pouring rain. Heavy metal blares all night and the characters inhabiting the place are on the rougher side. Service was swift and friendly although they messed up the order bigtime (wrong items on the pizza that my friend was allergic to). I had finished my sandwich long before we ever saw her order. Instead of comping her pizza they only offered to comp A beer. We said we were done drinking and asked if it could be a dessert instead. They said no. Wrong answer.
google avatar

Dannica M.

Yelp
Great place. Pizza is phenomenal, staff was friendly, it's always sunny was on the TV...what more could you want. Very diverse beer menu, dark and lights, some fruity.
google avatar

Gwen A.

Yelp
Yelpers recommended this place and I have to agree. The pizza, salad, and beer were on point. As other people yelped, it is a heavy metal bar. Some of the music I liked some I didn't, but none was overly loud. The staff was great. I would like to come back.
google avatar

Rafael G.

Yelp
This pizza is awesome and if you are a metal head even better! Seriously I have been to new york and chicago and the pizza is freaking good here the drinks are tasty too!
google avatar

D W.

Yelp
What a great find! I just lucked into it while lost on Santa Fe and thirsty. Cut to the chase - best pizza by far in Denver and great overall. First cheese only pizza I've ever Loved, such great tasty cheese and these guys dough is FANtastic. The meat combo was dynamite. Delicious meats and seasoning. Great beers too, and a fun friendly place though at first look it might surprise you. (Oh and very clean, too). Next time I'm getting several.
google avatar

Robert H.

Yelp
We were wondering around the area and decided to get a drink. We sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly. She made excellent drinks and they were reasonably priced. We decided to get a snack and ordered the meatball bites. She told us to add risotto which we did and I was glad we did. It took a little while to come out, but was very hot and fresh. We enjoyed the snack and the drinks. It was a neat brewery especially for the heavy metal fan. Glad we stopped in to try to.
google avatar

Jill F.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Huge, creative beer selection. Best pizza I've had in a long time!!! Homemade crust is fantastic. Pizza sauce is flavorful and delicious. We tasted 10 beers between two of us and ALL were excellent in their own way!!!
google avatar

Carolyn P.

Yelp
Ughh Black Sky... Our love-hate relationship continues like a bad high school romance. I like your beer. I don't like your disgruntled staff. I love your beer. I detest your greasy food. I really love your beer. I hate that you don't allow dogs on your patio (it's a PATIO...and it's DENVER...and it's a BREWERY...) And just like a true dysfunctional relationship, I will return to you for liquid love but continue to feel empty inside. Sigh...
google avatar

Brittany A W.

Yelp
The black sky pizza is just so delicious. Great combination of everything wonderful. A MUST try for pizza lovers everywhere. Cheap growler fills of delicious house brews. And an awesome low-key atmosphere..
