Went vineyard hopping on my birthday. Pulling up to the vineyard was delightful. So beautiful. We sat at the bar and ordered flights from a very nice petite woman. We really enjoyed conversing with her. After serving our flights she disappeared. We didn’t realize it at first. There was a new face behind the bar but she did not approach us or make eye contact. Is she our new server? We asked her for a glass of water and got the vibe we were inconveniencing her. My husband observed, “maybe she’s having a bad day.” We never did see our original hostess again. Seems it would have been a good idea to communicate who we should continue to order from. It was pretty odd. Otherwise, we enjoyed the wine. Bonus, you get to take home a wine glass 🍷 for free from the flight..

We had a delightful stay here July 31, 2025! The chef, John, is amazing! He prepared a gourmet breakfast, hors d’oeuvres, and the authentic Italian cuisine at the Bistro. We loved the wines and Tasting Room and enjoyed 2 complimentary flights of wine. Our room was very comfortable and luxurious. It was a beautiful farm and hotel. I highly recommend it.

Google
We did a cooking class with Chef John, as well as a flight sampling. As far as the tasting, the staff kept honing in further and further on our tastes preferences, offering additional samples, until we settled on two wines we couldn’t leave without, but hadn’t initially chosen in our flight. As far as the cooking class - What a fun atmosphere and experience! The cooking class was phenomenal! Chef John is so personable and talented. It’s a laid back environment with hands on experience, but one where you can really ask questions and gain insight. We had a great, friendly group of participants. It was fun getting to know others and hearing about their cooking experience, both at home and with Chef John. It was our first cooking class, which initially seemed a bit intimidating, however Chef John put us at ease very quickly, setting the atmosphere for the next 4 hours. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend doing this experience and are looking forward to doing more in the future!

Google
love the atmosphere and the wine we take a walk around the farm to see the horses and the goats. the cocktails are good also. Large selections and options. We have a lot of favorites Delighted which is a rose, red house red, bedazzled sparkling wine great for mamosas, the reislings are great also

Stumbled on this place looking for the Tesla charger. Found it and then stayed for the delicious pizza and lovely scenery, beautiful place, excellent service and atmosphere, absolutely loved it!

Google
Beautiful location. Wine tasted good. Really would like to recommend this place, but can't do it. The Bistro Polaris starters/plates/dishes are, let's say, very bugie, with the exception of the pizza. Pizza was good and plenty. We ordered the Veggie Crudite (see pic) for $9 with hummus to start with. We got a total of 8 very thin slices of celery, pepper and two halves of a tiny radish with 2 tbsp of hummus. The entrée-size salads were overpriced as well. The place is labeled as kid-friendly, but has no kid friendly food, no playground. We hoped the goats would make up for it, but no. The goat feed vending machine ($$) was empty. And don't pet the goats. Again, beautiful place, you can hop from the bistro to the tasting room, etc. But plan for another meal and ice cream stop afterwards. Hope they will review their strategy and make this more inviting to come back.

We just stayed at the inn for the weekend and had the best time! Comfortable room, great breakfast, beautiful grounds. We rented e-bikes and the process was as easy as just letting them know and they had it arranged for us. The property is located close to the bike path and offered for a fantastic day! I would definitely go back!

Google
5 Stars – A Perfect Wedding at Black Star Farms We just got married at Black Star Farms, and it was truly everything we dreamed of and more. The venue is absolutely stunning—set against the beautiful backdrop of Northern Michigan, it offered the perfect mix of elegance, charm, and natural beauty. From the very beginning, the staff was incredible. Every single person we worked with went above and beyond to make sure our day was flawless. They were professional, organized, kind, and genuinely excited to help bring our vision to life. We never felt like just another wedding—they made it feel personal and special every step of the way. Everything exceeded our expectations—from the planning process to the ceremony and reception. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the venue, the food, and the overall experience. If you're considering Black Star Farms for your wedding, do it. You won't regret it. Thank you to the entire team for making our day so magical! — Eric & Brittany

Yelp
My friends and I took a goat yoga class followed by a beverage on the patio. The farm was darling, the yoga was fun (and very relaxing), and the drinks were great! I was pregnant at the time and did not have any wine, but they had a good selection of non-alcoholic beverages as well.

Yelp
Even tho it was raining, it was an absolute beautiful property! Our friend had stayed on the property so she knew about all the little things to check out. The Barrel room is reserved for guests staying there- but since we popped in, they do servings until 6 but the best part is they also serve cocktails. I can't lie, the main room was open and full of light, we sat next to the cozy fireplace, took our orders to the bartender and had a great time! Recommend the chai latte bourbon... served very boozy but if you wait 8-10 min for the cube to dissolve a little, it is PERFECT! Enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning to see more of the horses, beautiful vineyard and setting!

Yelp
I knew I wanted to visit one winery while in the area recently, and found Black Star Farms on Yelp which was perfect as it was on our way to Hop Lot, which was also on our list. We were greeted right upon walking up to the wine tasting area (they also have a separate restaurant) and they went over the tastings and how it worked. The service was wonderful and I felt really welcomed. The grounds were pretty and we liked watching some horses while we sat on the shaded patio. The wine I tried was good, I'm no connoisseur though. I didn't try any that I would've wanted to buy, but I'm glad we checked this spot out.

Yelp
Beautiful location with rows and rows of greenery. The hotel is enormous and would be awesome to try sometime. The indoor tasting room is beautiful and so is the outdoor area. Plenty to choose from.

Yelp
A beautiful setting, good wine, and good snacks. My husband and I stopped at Black Star Farms on our way through to Traverse City. We were seated outside immediately on a Saturday around 4 PM. We each got a flight of wine - they have so many great wines to choose from! - and we also ordered a cheese dip & crackers to split (perfect pairing for the wine!). We had a great experience up until we needed to get the check. No one ever stopped by at our table again, so we had to go up to the bar to ask. Then, we waited another 10 minutes before going back up to the bar to ask again and they sent us inside. It was a strange experience being tossed around from the bar to the interior - definitely some work to do on the checkout process! After we checked out, we walked around the grounds a bit, looking at the horses and goats on-site. Overall, good spot, but service needs some work.

Yelp
I love BSF! the wine is fabulous, the staff is amazing. Employees from both tasting rooms are always cheerful. You truly feel like a part of the "family" when you come in.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place bigger marks, but given the other places we went to while on a wine trip in Northern Michigan, this was our least favorite. I remember coming here many years ago and it wasn't bad.. but this time around, it was so chaotic and just terrible service and lackluster wine. It feels like their popularity has gotten to the best of them. I don't know that I'd re-visit this place. We also had lunch at the cafe next door before our tasting and even that was kind of lackluster. They do have a few vegetarian options, but the southwestern bowl I ordered was so dry and didn't have much flavor. Not sure it was worth the money for it.

Yelp
This is a wonderful winery. The ambience and decor of the place is very classy, but comfortable. The service we received was very friendly and they were very helpful to any and all questions. We did not have any food there but the wine and beverages that we did have were really good! I would highly recommend doing the caramel apple mimosa. It is an apple flavored mimosa with caramel around the rim and it was delicious. The drive into the winery was scenic and you pass a wonderful, cascading Vineyard. There were other activities going on nearby. There is an eatery on the property, however, we did not partake as we had eaten prior. If you're looking for a new winery to go to, I would definitely recommend this place, if you order a flight of wine or bourbon you will get a keepsake glass to take home. There are other things that are available not listed on the flight menu. Definitely ask around as I missed a pumpkin old fashioned, which might happen before the end of the season!

Yelp
Just bought a bottle of their wine but the grounds are beautiful with a tasting area, restaurant, cafe an equestrian area and acres and acres of grape vines. Dog friendly area outside.
google avatar

Brad V.

Yelp
Poor system - line to check in for seated tasting, and then you get to wait in a long line to pay for your tastings of over-priced average wine. One bottle is $17 here but $14 at Meijer. Over 25 people in line, one register. Zero efficiency. Waste of time. There are so many more wineries in the area that don't take themselves as seriously and care more about the customer experience.

Yelp
Disclaimer: This is a review by someone who doesn't drink alcohol because she's allergic! Read on for a review of the vibes, ambiance, and non-alcoholic options (if any)! Two years ago, my friends and I visited the Black Star on Old Mission peninsula, which environment-wise isn't all that remarkable. Just one building sort of nestled into a forest. When we visited Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay though, which I'm guessing is their main location, I was completely floored just driving in! Rolling hills, rows & rows of vinyard vines, and almost a campus/estate filled with gorgeous buildings, stables, & tasting rooms! I was IMPRESSED! While I can't speak to the wine they serve, it has to be good, because my friends were dying to do a tasting at Black Star Farms again after we had done the one two years ago. The wine definitely left an impression on them & this time around, I was really happy to be able to roam the grounds as they wine tasted! Black Star Farms Suttons Bay has such a large property for anyone to check out. They have a little garden patch where they sell goodies from & you can walk behind the stables a bit to say hi to the horses they have as well, although you can't get close to them or pet them by any means. There's a gorgeous inn & banquet hall as well, which were all closed while I was there on a weekday, but I'm sure when there's an event happening, everything is super lively here. All in all, it was gorgeous & wonderful and I would love to come back here just for the vibes! To top it all off, Black Star Farms actually sells a couple non-alcoholic options! Sparkling white grape juice & raspberry grape juice by the bottle that they make themselves & they provide DD's with it as well during tastings, which is a big plus in my book! I bought a bottle to take home with me & I can't wait for the next special occasion in my life to drink it! :)

Yelp
Attended QuinTango diner event. Everything first class. Wine and meal were to the highest standard. QuinTango program was outstanding. Natural setting with facilities and staff everything you would expect.

Yelp
***Dog Friendly on the lawn*** What a beautiful way to spend a summer afternoon! There is a large selection of dry wines with plenty of sweet wines too. There is a wide variety of seating locations across the campus depending on your preference. We came with a dog, and they were able to to easily accommodate us on the lawn of the tasting room. The members of my group all got a wine sampling and the spirit sampling. This is the best was to try the vast selections of wines. The cherry lemonade was so refreshing. Our favorite wines were the rosé, artisan red, sparking Riesling. Favorite spirits included the 10 year apple brandy and spirit of the vineyard red grappa.

Tim F.

Yelp
BSF is one of our all time favorite wineries. they have a huge library of wine to pick from, they have kind for everyone. But more so it is truly a family. we just love everyone that works at both sides. Quinn, Tom, Nick and the rest at the OMP are amazing. The staff on the Suttons bay side Chris, Jill, Erika and their wine master Lee are all the best as well. We LOVE coming up and having a glass or three and talk to everyone there. just top notch place!! oh let's not forget that amazing Inn!!! We highly recommend checking them out. have a glass and get to know them you won't regret it!!

Yelp
Another of my favorite spots of this whole trip. Today was our best day weather wise and wineries were definitely the way to go! The remarkable beauty of this spot can not be described completely in words and can not be properly captured by photos. We tried. But you really do have to come and see this for yourself. We decided on a few flights to share and then also did a spirit tasting. The spirit tasting also came with a free glass. So duh. Of course we want the glasses! The wine was fantastic. The spirits were... Strong for me. But we still enjoyed them. This is a spot everyone should visit.

Yelp
Picturesque location with rolling hills, stables, and a stately manor house. You'd be hard pressed to find a better place to sip. As for the wines, we were 1 for 6 and that one was actually a hard cider. Our picks lacked depth but maybe we picked wrong. The Apple Cherry Hard Cider was a home run. It was beautiful and had a robust ripe cherry finish which is the perfect summer drink in the land of cherries. We bought two bottles and the one we brought home didn't sing with an apple bouquet as much as the tasting sample did but it was still very good. The other wines were lack luster. We loved the complimentary glass and thought it a nice way to commemorate the day. The rest of the flight was served from plastic, which diminished the experience. The lunchable style charcuterie also felt low budget. This may have been scaled down due to staffing constraints. Everything tasted okay. Overall- loved the location.

Yelp
Is a beautiful winery/distillery and luxury Inn that provides services for meetings, events, farm-to-table dining and horseback riding. Black Star is located 20 miles north of Traverse City MI along scenic M-22. We stopped in for a wine tasting which cost $7 per person. The $7's buys you a sample of five different wines. There are options to upgrade during the tasting (to full glass) and after the tasting the winery gives you a stemless wine glass as a gift. A bottle of wine costs anywhere from $11.50-$95. We really enjoyed the Cherry desert wine and purchased a bottle to take home for $18. If we had more time at the 160 acre property we would have explored some of their hiking trails.
google avatar

Zachary P.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite places to go. My wife's family regularly visits the Traverse City area, and this is one of the definite spots to visit. The wine is outstanding, and very reasonably priced. If anyone visits the area, we usually request some wine to be brought back from here. There have a very expansive grounds with walking trails and the ability to see some farm animals too, which we didn't have time for at our last visit, but makes this a little more appealing if you have kids. This will continue to be one of our regular spots.
google avatar

Yelp
Very very pretty and nice ambience! We loved the late harvest Riesling and the beauty sitting at the patio to taste. Taste is a bit costly for only three tasting -$12. Try the artisan crackers lentil sea salt. They are great! Enjoy your time and don't rush.
google avatar

Tammy M.

Yelp
Nothing special, seating on the patio, flights of wine. You do get a glass when ordering a flight. We also asked for water and we got it but no ice, which would have been nice on this hot day. We stopped on a bike ride and won't make a special trip back here but it's ok for an impromptu visit.

Abby G.

Yelp
Wine is amazing view is amazing staff is amazing! Very comfortable environment for people who never wine tasted before! Made it simple for hubby and father in law

Paul Mueller ..

Yelp
In addition to some very well made and enjoyable wines, the grounds look fabulous. The staff is friendly and help to understand what is very important to the customer
google avatar

Kacy G.

Yelp
It unfortunate for the other wineries that this was the first stop on the Leelanou Wine/Bike Trail because it set a high bar. Beautiful property; delicious sav blanc; kind and knowledgeable staff. I could've sat in the Adirondack chair drinking flights all day, but alas... other wineries awaited.
google avatar

Ernie H.

Yelp
Gorgeous - it's out of a postcard only your in it. Pictures can't quite capture the experience of walking the grounds. Part of consuming is vision and this one is perfect. The wine and whiskey is almost secondary. It helps that according to this pedestrian tongue, the wines are good. The Pinot noir comes down smooth with a warm afterglow once it travels down your throat. The late harvest Riesling is suberb - fruity crisp refreshing without being too sweet. The flights are $9 each - it's worth it - just sitting there, sipping, tasting and being part of your Hallmark movie moment. I deeply apologize my phone can't take pics
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
Amazing views and delicious wine! Such an amazing fall weekend to come. A three pour wine flight for only $13 and a glass as a souvenir! Many wines to choose from and food to pick from if you would like. Sprit flights and full glasses available as well. Would love to come back again!

Ashley P.

Yelp
We were sat and sat there forever and were not helped. As soon as we got up to leave they cleared our table. Where was the service while we were there instead of after we left? Not okay.
google avatar

Patrick B.

Yelp
If you are looking for quality wines in the TC area, do not miss Black Star. The wines were spectacular and the dry selection makes you forget you are in MI. The brandy and ciders were pretty great too. Staff was friendly and took the time to walk you through the menu. Patio and tasting room we're clean and spacious so you didn't feel overcrowded. Don't miss this stop.
google avatar

Josh C.

Yelp
The best Inn to stay when your touring Michigan's wine country. If you enjoy farm to table breakfast, and hors d'oeuvres served at happy hour everyday. This might be the place for you. The hospitality at the Inn is 5/5! And if you want an even elevated level of luxury I highly recommend a private wine tasting.

Barbara S.

Yelp
First the good: The property is beautiful and the rooms look very nice. Now the bad: 1) Fruit flies in the room. A lot of them. When we spoke to the manager, he said that there wasn't anything that they could do because there is a lot of fruit in the area. Really?? At $500.00 a night, you need to figure out a way to fix this problem, or at least warn your guests. We never would have stayed at the hotel if we knew that our room was going to be infested with bugs. 2) The hotel does not have any elevators and doesn't mention that on their website. If you can't climb stairs, don't stay at this hotel. 3)The rooms are noisy. The white sound machine should have been a tip-off. 4) Old tvs Luxury prices with subpar service.

Yelp
Visiting from Las Vegas. Grew up in Michigan and have not been to Black Star in about 7 years. I have RAVED about this place to my husband and when we were finally able to travel to Michigan, I was so excited to take him here! The wine is incredible! HOWEVER, the service we received was less than desirable. Long haired brunette was incredibly rude, short, and unwelcoming and the 3 people working outside wanted to talk more to themselves than to other patrons. This has been a bucket list item to come back here, and let me say, I left more disappointed from coming here than I would have not coming here at all. I felt like such an inconvenience to the staff when I am spending money to enjoy it! Quite baffling really. Do better. Especially for patrons spending their hard earned money to pick your venue over others.

Hayley S.

Yelp
Beautiful property, highly recommend stopping in here for brunch/dinner. Food was delicious!

Emma P.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our visit to Black Star Farms!! The wine was amazing and the employees/experience was even more amazing! We talked with Marshall and he was so genuine, friendly, and helpful. We wish we lived closer so we could come here more often! 1000000/10, highly recommend

Yelp
Came here due to posting about the restaurant, unfortunately it was too early in the season for it and the distillery to be open. The drive in is beautiful - horses and vineyards surround as you drive down into the inn/ winery/ stable area. You can park closer to the wine tasting area but we opted (not knowing) to take a stroll. It's not far at all- so no whining (pun intended) from me. Fortunately there ARE cheese and crackers for purchase in the wine room- and tasty ones. They matched well with our samples and someone (like ME) May have purchased some vino to go! The Oakes Chardonnay, the gamay noir (never had one and delightful), and a bubbly rose that was refreshing (names delightful of course). The interior is warm and inviting, centered around a semi circular bar with the wine surrounding it. There is an outside tasting area but not many people out there want sure if it was open. Small seating area on deck that had lots of sun the day that we were there. Also I may like he emblem a bit- as you may have noticed with the photos.
google avatar

Yelp
Skip the brunches-- we went for Easter brunch. The food seems to be prepackaged from GFS or Costco. All the pastries were from one of the big box/reheat stores. Whether the eggs were fresh or not, they tasted powdered. The eggs Benedict, which was their focus, looked like it may have been made in house. Here's a tip: go to a restaurant for Easter brunch or Mothers Day Brunch. Easter brunch at Black Star Farms was underwhelming because it all tasted like it was just repackaged from GFS. TC has amazing dining options, pick one!

Yelp
Of the four wineries I visited on Leelanau, Black Star had my favorite tasting room. ...however... They do the lame winery thing of charging you money to buy a glass, which you get to keep. Maybe that's a novelty to some people, but I already have more wine glasses than I know what to do with. I'd rather pay less and not waste the glass. Anyway, you pay $7 and you get to taste five wines. They also offer three different flights if you'd prefer to stay within a certain genre. The absolute standout wine here is the 2015 Arcturos Late Harvest Riesling. I'm normally not a big riesling guy, but this stuff was phenomenal. If you believe their description, it has "rich apricot, pear and honeysuckle notes." It went down very smoothly with little acidity. At $17.50/bottle, it's very affordable. Of the four wineries I visited on Leelanau, Black Star had the most consistent quality from wine to wine. Lots of TC wineries have one or two really fine bottles, but everything I tasted at Black Star was worth drinking. Black Star Farms had a large tasting room with multiple stations. Even though multiple bachelorette parties were roaring through, it never felt cramped or rowdy. This would be a five-star affair if not for the silly glass surcharge. Why not make it optional?

Yelp
Absolutely enchanting! The inn is gorgeous, we stayed in the Atlas room. It has the most beautiful bathroom and overlooks the front landscape. The grounds are beautiful! You can hike several (on property) trails, walk amongst the grapes on the hillside, view the horses, see the vegetable garden, peek at the casks of wine in the hillside cellar, enjoy their wines and spirits in the beautiful tasting room, sit on the front or back porch, and enjoy complimentary happy hour every night while tasting wines and snacking on plates of small bites. The staff is incredibly friendly, efficient, and attends to your every whim. Breakfast is included and will delight even the most experienced foodie. Chef John is a treasure! Mitchell and David are fantastic! Very highly recommend this place. There is so much to do and see in the surrounding area!

Yelp
A beautiful winery in the lovely Sutton Bay Area of Traverse City. The 2 hour tour was informative and fun..then got 6 tastings. The pours were nice and big and you get the wine glass...always a plus. Blackstar wines are so affordable...I bought two bottles of their yummy late harvest Riesling to take home. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

Yelp
Spent the night at black star farms bed and breakfast. This review is more for the bed and breakfast than the winery. Sean was awesome, enjoyed getting to know him, and he was great at happy hour. The place was really nice, the 4 stars are because furnace in the room turned on and off all night keeping us awake. The shower also had hardly any water volume. Without these two issues that they will probably fix they are a five star place. The chef Jon? Made a great breakfast and was great to talk to. I would go back without a moments notice and wish I could have given five stars. We did stop in to the winery to do a taste test, and it was good, I wish I remembered the lady's name that helped us she was awesome. It was slow season of course so we were about the only ones there. Beautiful place.

Yelp
If you're doing wine tasting in the greater Traverse City area, make sure you put Black Star Farms on your list. As soon as you drive into the property, you see some of the gorgeous vineyard on a sprawling hill, and then you come around the corner to find the Inn, which is breathtaking. It looks like it could be a 200 year old plantation in the south, but the owner informed us it was finished in '97. As you continue down the driveway, there are horse stable, a distillery and cafe, and then the wine tasting building. All of it together makes for a stunning setting to sit and enjoy some good Michigan wine. The wine itself is very reasonably priced, and the dry reds are surprisingly tasty for Michigan grown grapes. My favorite was the Cab Franc, and then also really enjoyed the Chardonnay. After we tasted wine we wandered over to the distillery for a couple of cocktails, and I can confirm they make a mean manhattan. We didn't eat any food at the cafe, but it looked amazing. My favorite part about the whole experience was the staff. From the bar tender and GM at the wine tasting building, to our server at the distillery, and finally the owner, who stopped by our table and chatted with us for about 30 minutes while we asked her questions about the history and how things were going during the pandemic. Make sure you don't miss this one!

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! Everyone is so knowledgeable and friendly. The wine is delicious. Definitely somewhere I could sit all day. The wine club benefits are also great. Thank you Chris for taking care of us. Highly recommend Black Star Farms as your first stop on your wine drinking tour. :)

Yelp
Definitely a place to stop by if your in this area. Driving up is impressive with the beautiful vineyard and colonial mansion on site. Their flight tasting of three wines was only $9 and wine was tasty. We went home with a couple of bottles from here too. Place is dog friendly which was a plus for us since we had the pooch. Wine was served in plastic glasses and you had to self order by turning your sheet in. Great place to visit.
google avatar

Oliver V.

Yelp
Remarkable grounds, a beautiful inn and my favorite tasting room in the region. Did I mention that the wine is kick ass too? So good and lots of variety too. I also like that the property is more protected from elements because I found that the other wineries can get kind of windy when you taste outside. Anyway, also had lunch at the cafe and the Reuben was on point. They serve wine at the cafe (of course) but also local spirits. And don't forget to check out the famous Leelanau cheese shop down the road. Become a wine club member after one tasting so definitely coming back!

K K.

Yelp
Four stars is about right. Stayed in the Lyra, only room available when I booked. Clean small and modern but no view from Lyra. Just a place to sleep. The breakfasts were 5 stars. Delicious, right sized portions. The wines we sampled while there were not for us but the tasting comes free with the reservation. The on-site trail system is good for hiking and running. They could use a simple fitness room for days with poor weather when one cannot exercise outside. The avg age of clientele had to be 70. I would stay here again but pick a different room.

Yelp
My husband and I was staying in Traverse City and wanted to go to a couple of wineries. Read the reviews and thought we would check it out. This would be the second winery we visited that day. You can spend a day here. Besides the winery, they have a restaurant to dine in and a hotel/inn. As we entered the driveway, you go through their beautiful acres of vineyards. All I saw was gorgeous green landscapes. Then comes the farm. WOW!!! Horses, beautiful barn and buildings. I can already tell this is going to be a great experience. There are signs that will guide you to where you need to get to. I wanted to do the tasting. It is $5.00 for 5 tastings of your choice of Dry White Wine and Dry Red Wine. They also have a reserve tasting which is 2 for $5.00. I did just the 5 tastings which was all dry red wine. This is what I chose from the list: -2012 BSF Pinot Noir: Cherry and hints of cedar with cocoa & vanilla rose -2011 Arcturos Pinot Noir: Bright berry nose touched with spicy oak. -2011 Vintners Select: Rich dark fruit flavors and a hint of cocoa & spice. -2011 Arcturos Cabernet Franc: Raspberry & Blackberry with herbal spicy oak. - Red house Red: Fruit driven with layered flavors and hints of oak. My favorite was the BSF Pinot Noir, Arcturos Cabernet Franc, and Vintners Select. I ended up getting a bottle of the 2012 BSF Pinot Noir for $11.25. Besides wine, they also sell chocolates, nuts, gifts, t-shirts and more. This is a must visit. Employees are very friendly, knowledgeable and take pride in their jobs. Love it here!

Yelp
Got the private tour for two people and it was led by Kim. She was very nice and knowledgeable about everything. Answered our questions and even took some pictures for us. The price included a flight of 3 for each of us, including a sparkling wine sample while in the aging cellar. They do sell their wine in bottles for a pretty good price which is always a plus. Overall a great experience and would love to have stayed in their inn to get the whole experience !

Yelp
We loved our visit to Black Star Farms! We did wine flights and then had lunch after in their restaurant on the property. The tasting room is doing a great job of making sure that they're keeping guests safe. I was very impressed with the selection of wine and we enjoyed everything that we tasted. My favorite was the Chardonnay and my husband's was the Be Dazzled, which is a sparkling brut. I would also recommend their restaurant if you need a bite to eat!

Yelp
I enjoyed our visit to Black Star Farms! I was impressed by the safety and health concerns for the staff and patrons during CO -VID 19. The staff wore masks, sanitized areas thoroughly where patrons would sit. We sat on the patio in the corner which was perfect since it was just my husband and me. They give you a sheet to mark which wines you want for your tasting. You then go up and give it to their wine stewards who pour your flight and bring it to the table. My husband was the DD for the day so they gave him a free tasting of the sparkling raspberry juice which he said was delicious and we bought a bottle of. Okay where do I begin with the wines. I loved most of them. I was talking to my husband about one that I didn't care for and one of the wine stewards overheard me ( I didn't know she heard me). She came around the bar and said "I over heard you saying you didn't like this one. What didn't you like about it? I think you are like me and I think you would like this one better." She then poured me a small glass and gave it to me. I indeed liked it a lot. So impressed with their knowledge of the wines and customer service. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
Black Star Farms is great because you can taste either wines or spirits- they make everything! I always opt for the spirits tasting just to mix things up from all the other wineries. The prices are a little steep, but that's to be expected when you go to a bigger destination winery like this.

Yelp
Received a gift of sparkling wine from Black Star Farms. Was horrified to see a beer cap enclosure! Please don't use a beer cap on a sparkling wine.
