I think Candace Q fell from the sky from the heavens and I am not the only one who thinks so. I’ve taken her class for several years and she has only gotten better as a teacher and as a person. She is soooo intelligent about the practice of yoga and does an excellent job of teaching the integrity of the poses. Also she expresses herself to the students in class with such humility and kindness. I imagine it can be tough to hold boundaries in class and give directives in such a tactful and cute way. The other day I took her class and the practice opened me up spiritually and emotionally and I had no choice but to cry tears of gratitude for everything I’ve watched her do for our community. To know Candace is to love her. To love her is a privilege to us all that we get to witness a real life angel in a human suit on earth. Thank you to Candace for your love and devotion to this practice and to your own actualization and wisdom that you gift to us. I think we should have a statue of her outside of black swan and we rub it for good luck. Thank you for always keeping my body and my spirit aligned. We love you so much and we are so grateful for you !!!!! But also just a suggestions to the studio, more social events, kids yoga, and maybe investing in your teachers more who could use a little more guidance in their education in the practice of yoga. Sometimes I’ll be in a class and the teachers will give queues that are counter intuitive to what is the body’s natural position and can be detrimental. Black Swan is a great community staple and think together, we can make it even better !!!

I have been going to all three black swan yoga Houston locations for over two years now, and the experience has been nothing short of inspiring! The instructors are very patient and encouraging, and by attending multiple classes you can see which instructors fit your pace the best. Besides being a great workout, this is also a community space where every level is welcomed and friendships can form. The donation based system is also very encouraging for people who cannot afford paying the full price in-advance each time. I love Candice Quino’s classes, she’s always got something unique in store that keeps things interesting.

I recently took my first hot yoga class at Black Swan Yoga (White Oak) & it was such a positive experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt completely at ease…the studio radiates a vibrant, welcoming energy. Even with a full class, the space felt open & comfortable. Lesley was incredibly thorough & kind, making me feel like part of the community right away, even as a first time visitor. I was a little nervous about trying hot yoga, but it turned out to be very manageable & refreshing. That was exactly what I needed during my trip to Houston. I’m already looking forward to coming back next time I’m in town.

Google
Devin is by far the best instructor at Black Swan. His classes embody the true essence of yoga—uniting body, mind, and spirit in a way that feels both grounding and uplifting. He creates a deeply spiritual atmosphere, guiding you to move with intention and breath. What truly sets him apart is his attentiveness: he takes the time to observe each student and offer thoughtful, hands-on corrections, ensuring safe alignment and deeper engagement. Every class feels like a step toward not just physical strength and flexibility, but inner clarity and balance.

Google
I love this studio! Everyone is so kind, and the instructors genuinely meet you where you are. Taking breaks and listening to your body is encouraged, but I also feel challenged in the best way. Each instructor has their unique style, but the studio's core values remain consistent, making every new class feel both exciting and grounded. I would totally recommend this studio to anyone who's a beginner in yoga or an experienced yogi looking for a fun and supportive environment.

Had a phenomenal experience during my candlelight session with Avi! Great first experience, will be coming back for his class!

Google
I absolutely love Black Swan Yoga! All three locations are fantastic—clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. The instructors are truly amazing: knowledgeable, inspiring, and supportive of every level, whether you’re a beginner or experienced yogi. The hot yoga classes are intense in the best way possible—energizing, grounding, and incredibly detoxifying. I always leave feeling refreshed, stronger, and more balanced. If you’re looking for a place to deepen your practice or just sweat it out and clear your mind, Black Swan is it. Highly recommend!

Google
I love Black Swan Yoga especially the Kirby location when I go it is not too crowded or too hot. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Leslie, Chelsea and Zen. They are AWESOME instructors.

Yelp
Black Swan Yoga is one of my favorite studios in Houston, and for good reason! Their drop-in class donation ($12) is probably the most affordable option in the city right now. I enjoy going to Black Swan--not only for the affordability but also because they often run monthly specials, which I always take advantage of. Parking can be a pain if you're going during busy times (after work), but the classes I take around 1pm, or even 4ish, I can ALWAYS find parking on the street. I try to get there 10 minutes before for space and a spot in the yoga room. The White Oak location has a small room that can fit about 60+ people. It can get a bit cramped, and you're definitely up close and personal with your neighbor, but honestly, it doesn't bother me anymore. I enjoy the classes and the community! I especially love taking classes from Jose--he's hilarious and makes every session such a blast. His classes are not only fun but also an incredible workout! Definitely check them out!

Yelp
Wow this class was packed. Maybe one or two spots open. There's a tiny parking lot and lots of cars park on the street or neighboring street. I would say it's a bit difficult to get in and out. The yoga studio is connected to a juice bar, which is so genius and convenient. A large wall of cubbies to put shoes and stuff in or bring your stuff on the perimeter of the room. Jose taught the hot yoga class. You should definitely bring a towel and yoga towel. It gets really sweaty and slippery. The flow was good, fast, consistently and challenging. I liked the tape on the floor, it outlined where you should place your mat. We used yoga blocks in our class. There's a water dispenser if you need to hydrate. Good class. Can't believe how packed it was at 11:30am on a Wednesday.

Yelp
Great Yoga. Instructors are all great. Like the vibe and it adds to the neighborhood.

Yelp
Did a class as a drop in the week after hurricane Beryl as I was staying with a friend during to power outage at home. It was just what my heart, body and soul needed. The instructor, graham, started the class with acknowledgement that it was ok to not be ok and that truly helped open my heart to the flow. He lead a great flow and I was able to get a great stretch and sweat out a lot of stress and tension. I will be back here and there! Great little welcoming yoga studio!

Yelp
WORST YOGA STUDIO I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! I have been practicing yoga for 25 years. The parking was horrible, I was 2 min late and they wouldn't let me in. I don't even live here I was visiting a friend. and then they said i could be refunded if i emailed them then they emailed and said all purchases are nonrefundable. horrible customer service. horrible parking. my friend and I ended up doing yoga in the park and you should too before coming to this scam and joke of a studio

Yelp
I was asked by friends to join them for Hot Yoga. I had never tried it and never thought I wanted to. But I was intrigued when they described the place. It was adorable! The juice bar is great too!! The even have a small fridge so you can pick up your drink after class! The class was challenging and the heat felt really good to me! The people are very kind and patient. I left feeling very cleansed!! The only con in all this is..... myself. I have never liked the slowness of Yoga. It's just my brain doesn't stop that long - it's uncomfortable to me to just lay there for as long as they want - But having said all that - I will go back

Yelp
How do you stand out in a city jam packed with yoga studios? 1.Offer outdoor donation based, open to the community classes (so it's easy to try a class) in the most influential and aesthetic spots in the city 2. Collaborate with community business owners with similar goals to have amazing DJs, and after class events 3. Attract some of the most interesting yogis in the city by offering diverse, and approachable yet challenges flows Black swan does just that. This is only a review of their outdoor community yoga (at Glassell, Ravens Tower & elsewhere), but I appreciate the fact that they provide an accessible, quality way to try a class & the opportunity to bring friends to experience an unforgettable yoga experience in the city. When friends come to town I always recommend they drop in to sample a black swan flow.

Yelp
An oldie but goodie. Drop in to take a yoga class. Grab a smoothie when you're all done. I've been común here for years, but not consistently until recently moving closer to it. I love every instructor I've had. The classes are always fun and challenging. It's also donation based. If you need a yoga mat, towel, or water, they have you covered. Namaste!!

Yelp
I went while in town for a weekend. I took the afternoon class and it was amazing. I look forward to going again.

Yelp
Out of the three I would say this is the worst location out of the 3 due to parking, lack of space and ambiance. The parking lot is tiny. There's plenty of street parking, however it is paid and its on a busy street full of bars and restaurants. So depending on when you go parking can be a challenge. I came on a random week day (30 people?) space was a slight issue during practice. I cannot imagine how it would be with 75 people there. We were having to bend arms, angle ourselves to not touch our neighbors. This also faces White Oak which is again, can have heavy foot and car traffic. Can you imagine stretching to the noise of car honks and people headed towards happy hour? I certainly cannot. These are all things out of the staff's control. The good things about this also location for me. If you're near by and lazy this is your spot! I see myself coming here because I live so close. The staff is very nice and the classes flow very well. It is a plus that this has juice land right inside. I love a good juice right after practice.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing studio. Love their classes and the prices are very reasonable!! My only issue is with COVID they still pack the classes to the capacity limit. That can be worry some for obvious reasons. Pro tip: when choosing your spot look up at the speakers and avoid the spots near them

Yelp
I have been coming to this BSY location for the past month every Saturday for Juliana's flow classes at 11:30 am. I used to frequent her classes when she taught at Revolution and have been missing her. If you're new to yoga the class may be pretty challenging. She definitely pushes you and incorporates a lot of core and strength moves which I enjoy. I'm literally dripping sweat the entire time and always feel like an accomplished warrior when the practice is over. They have several class time slots and offer beginner level yoga just make sure you check the schedule or ask. There is a JuiceLand in the shared space as well which is typically my treat/reward once class is finished. I want to take one of their candle lit classes it seems like a vibe I want in my life.

Yelp
Black Swan Yoga Houston is a great yoga studio! As others have mentioned its a donation based studio for their classes, with a recommended donation of $10-20. But I originally started coming here because of ClassPass. Parking here is hard cause the lot is small, and there is only 1 way in/out. I just recommend getting here 20 mins before your class time to make parking easier, and have enough time to get a good mat spot. The majority of classes here are heated flow classes, and the busiest times are between 5-7:30 pm as most people come to class right when they get off work. I haven't had a bad instructor here before, but my personal favorite teacher is Chase Brown. His classes are challenging, faster paced, great music, and he isn't afraid to teach something new/different like animal flow. Once you've got a good sweat in, be sure to try a freshly squeezed juice or smoothie from JuiceLand. You can order before the class if you'd like and it'll be waiting for you in their fridge right when you get out of class. Namaste!
google avatar

Heather P.

Yelp
I love BSY! The instructors, music, LED studio lighting, vibes, diverse community feel, make for the coolest yoga flow sessions. I do wish that they had studios in the suburbs, as it makes me miss living in the city. It's a plus that each class is heated, so you will definitely be challenged getting your sweat on, but feeling so accomplished afterwards! I took away a star because classes tend to get really overcrowded, and the parking at this location is not ideal at all. Be sure to get there early, or check the schedule to time yourself by getting there right after a previous class ends, in order to be able to secure a parking spot in the tiny lot and to claim your spot in the yoga room!

Yelp
This review is a bit late. I was there about a month ago and loved it. The instructor was amazing she explained the poses very well. My favorite part ks that there is no contract.. it is a donation base.. I am looking forward to go back ‍

Yelp
With my new move, I'm now searching for a new gym and yoga studio. Black Swan might not be in my hood, but I find myself in the area a few times a week for work. So I gave it a second try. As other reviews mention, it's a donation-based studio, with suggestions ranging from $10 to $20 per class. Auto-pay monthly memberships are $88. You do the math on what's a better value for you and your schedule. I fully enjoyed my two experiences there. Friendly staff, knowledgeable instructors, frequent and convenient classes, and an onsite juice bar (Juice Land). There aren't any standard locker room facilities or showers, which is an amenity I prefer. But hey, it's a donation-based studio. Cubbies are provided inside and outside the studio.

Lauren H.

Yelp
The studio is combined with a juice bar, limited space- Although it is a nice space with a large mirror. Be warned if you want some distance between others during the practice, they pack the class to full capacity. No lockers so leave phone /wallet in the car. This is donation based yoga (so $10-20 per class or $100 per month membership - also have yearly options of $970) . This is really competitive pricing !! I have paid up to $30 per drop in /$120 (minimum) membership at other studios. I have about ten years of yoga experience and would consider myself at an intermediate to advanced level. That being said, I also enjoy a flow with attention to alignment and giving time between poses to achieve full range of motion and modifications which I might find in a different style of class. Not quite the style for me (an out of shape yogi looking to start back up) and my boyfriend (a beginner in need of more in depth instruction and modifications). Overall an amazing hot yoga workout for those who have a good understanding of basic poses, vinyasas, and correct form. I really enjoyed the creative flows and structure of the class!! They don't have all the bells & whistles (cool towels, lockers, etc) but good.

Yelp
Not a fan... the class I went to there was *literally* 60 people crammed in a small room - we were packed like sardines. I was stunned. I've never been to a yoga class where the instructor has no where to walk. Yoga is supposed to be relaxing but it was hard to focus on the practice when I'm more worried about kicking the person behind me or the mirror that was 2 inches from my face. It felt like Black Swan cares more about getting as much money as they can from a class than the actual yoga experience...
google avatar

Whitney S.

Yelp
I started going to Black Swan in the Kirby location first. When I came to this location, it had exactly everything that Kirby was missing. Beautiful windows framing the room, and a level of quaintness, that every Yogi truly needs inside to find their inner chi. It's connected to Juiceland, and there is a fridge that you can order you drink ahead and find your (ordered drink in the fridge when you get out) this will save you time because 'you betcha there will be a line of sweaty people waiting for a nice cold smoothie. This is hot yoga, and it's freaking hot. You will sweat in places that you didn't even know you could sweat! I would recommend wearing as minimal as possible, and bringing your own yoga mat towel to put down. Otherwise your sweat will cause you to slip and fall on your mat. We don't need this! Lastly, my last tip to new yoga goers like myself, is don't be afraid to stop and drink some water or find your chi, it does get hot and I find that some might pass out easily... which brings me to one more tip- hydrate adequately before! HAVE FUN AND NAMASTE'.

Ana R.

Yelp
YI had an appointment on 2/10/24 at 2:30pm. I was there at exactly 2:24pm and due to the parking situation, I was not able to actually walk up to the establishment until exactly 2:27pm. On top of that I could not find the entrance to the facility solely because of the fact the instructor had already closed the door. When I finally saw where the door was, since it was my first time, I was not able to open or even talk to anyone. I was knocking and waving to someone inside and she very rudely ignored me. I find that very inconvenient and especially unprofessional for the reason that 1. I was not let known to get there any sort of early & 2. No where on your website or scheduling site did I see anything regarding this.

Bailey R.

Yelp
Tried hot yoga for the first time and wow, that was intense! But a good-intense, for sure! I was drowning in sweat by the time we were done but I feel absolutely AMAZING today! Nosa was the instructor and he was so great. He noticed that I was struggling with some of the moves and he came over and asked me if I was cramping or if there was anything specific that I needed to stretch out. I mentioned that it was my IT band that was bothering me so he found a way to incorporate that into to the class to help me out! He went above and beyond - so awesome and kind of him to do so! Thank you friend! I will definitely be back in the near future as I am beginning to incorporate yoga into my workout routines. ‍

Yelp
We go every Friday at 7:15 to be instructed by Eugenia! She's amazing! The class pushes me beyond my limits and helps me to leave so full of gratitude. We meet new people every class and the environment is great. It is also very clean. They disinfect and sanitize after each class which I have personally watched myself

Claire C.

Yelp
Black Swan Yoga is in my opinion the best yoga studio in Houston. The instructions are knowledgeable and helpful. My absolute favorite instructor is Candice her flow is sublime. I can't say enough about her sequencing, music choice and her teaching style.Cadice Thank you for all you do in class to make our week better.

Jody R.

Yelp
Jose has been a great teacher but he is a victim of his own success. His classes are so crowded the only exercise you get is trying not to hit someone next to you or be hit by them. Even 7 minutes into the class, he is asking you to scoot your mat over to get one more "donation" in the door. He has failed to alter his flows to consider a mat 1 inch away in all directions. When that crowded, you can't do a flip dog. You can't do a half moon. You can't do a wild thing. You can't do a warrior 3. You can't even goal post your arms while lying on the floor. There's too many other great teachers to waste your time and workout here.

Ariel D.

Yelp
I enjoy Black Swan Yoga very much. I love that it's donation based and doesn't require a monthly membership that you may or may not use. That feature in particular helped me tremendously during the pandemic when they offered online classes. Most of the teachers are very strong and each have their own unique style so it never gets boring. Having said that, one area I wish they would improve in is communication. I recently booked an online class and the teacher literally never got online. I sent several emails asking when I would receive a credit back for the class to no avail. Eventually I asked about it in person and a manager gave me a refund. Then today I showed up for a class to discover the doors locked and a sign saying they were closed for the day due to unforeseen circumstances. While I understand the issue was beyond their control, I wonder why they were unable to at least call people who'd booked ahead and save them the waste of driving to the studio. Additionally, they really should consider either putting a cap on the amount of people that can fit in this studio or the teachers need to be proactive about helping people move around so there's space for everyone to actually flow. The other day someone literally overlapped their mat on top of mine because it was just too crowded and people weren't budging around them to accommodate. Also this location has very limited parking so always keep that in mind when attending a class. It's best to show up early to find street parking if needed. Otherwise I like Black Swan! But truthfully I prefer the other locations to this one because of the aforementioned.

Jacquelyn M.

Yelp
Signed up for a class and I was 10 minutes late because I had to park and walk from all the police blockages on yale. I was not allowed into the class despite having paid. Very frustrating location and no update on street closures. Wish I could get my money back! Was looking forward to a great morning class. I respect the boundaries of lateness; however there should be exceptions when police are involved and a mom just wants to get into the class!!

Matt R.

Yelp
This place is so bad that it made me no longer love yoga. They do everything they can to cram as many human beings as possible into a very tight space. If you like getting kicked by the people next to you and not being able to do half of the poses because there's no space, by all means, go to black swan. If you value the spiritual side of yoga, stay away from this money grubbing chain of yoga studios.

M. H.

Yelp
If you like walking two blocks to find parking, then this is the place for you. If you like the person in the mat in front of you doing a plow pose and invade 1/3 of the way onto your mat, then this is the place for you. Also, breathing in air with 60 other people in a room that has one foot spacing between mats when filled to 40.. no thanks - whether before, DURING (i.e., NOW) or after COVID.

Yelp
Decided to give yoga another try since I know it is good for relieving stress and Black Swan is across the street from where I live. This is definitely an excellent place to take classes. It is the Bikram Style Yoga, so it is over 100 degrees in the classroom. The heat can be a little much if you are not used to it. I have done all three style classes from the beginner, flow (intermediate), and power (advanced); and I felt comfortable in each setting. The instructors are very knowledgeable and of the highest quality. They encourage you to go at your own speed and don't try to get you to do something you think pushes your abilities. The cost ranges from the $88/month unlimited classes to the pay per class. They are on the donation system, so you pay what you want. The suggested donation is $10 to $20.

Yelp
Today was my first time visiting the BSY White Oak location. I normally go to the Kirby one as this is a but smaller and the room felt a little jam packed (11:30am Lunch flow?) I thoroughly enjoyed my instructor Robin and her observer gave me some pointers and tips for alignment and posture- which I really needed to enhance my practice. Needless to say, I will be returning to many more classes using my Class Pass credits! You can also do a drop in class of $10-$20 suggested donation and grab something healthy at JuiceLand juice bar which is connected to the studio. Thank you BSY! Namaste'

Yelp
DO NOT PARK IN THE PARKING LOT!!!! Upon moving from nyc to Houston i wanted to find another awesome hot yoga studio, a friend recommended Black swan to me so I signed up. Overall the class was great BUT i went to a 10pm candlelight flow which I'm prettt positive was over capacity at one point i had a girls whole foot practically in my face and another person almost on my mat with me. Also being that it's a hot yoga class it definitely wasn't 88 degrees and I wasn't too fond of them turning on the fans during the class to cool it down because like I said it wasn't too hot to begin with. Worst of all: AVOID PARKING IN THE PARKING LOT!!! Unfortunately after the class I came outside to find my windows broken and my car broken into along with another yogi's car to the left of mine who's car was broken into as well, all of our belongings gone of course. They do have cameras but when i went inside to ask if they could check the cameras i was told that class was infamous for cars being broken into and they couldn't give me any surveillance without cops requesting them. When the cops arrived they were told to come back tomorrow to ask Juiceland for the videos. All in all, it really killed the positive vibes and any relaxing feelings i felt leaving the class. Unfortunately although i enjoyed the class, we will definitely not be returning :(

Yelp
I have been practicing yoga for 10 years. In all that time, I've only found a handful of studios that create such a sense of acceptance, community, and belonging as Black Swan Yoga does. I really appreciate the variety of classes that they provide - each instructor has their own take on hot yoga and how to get the most out of a 60min flow. I have to give a big shout out to Jose, Nosa, Nakia, and Natasha - THANK YOU GUYS! I have become a stronger, more confident and happier person since dedicating time each week to your classes.

Yelp
If racial micro aggressions were a person, it'd be the instructor Ethan. I started attending classes at BSY frequently when I first moved to Houston this summer. Out of all the classes I attended, I had nothing but positive things to say. I took a hiatus from my yoga practice and returned for the first time yesterday. I was excited until my less than satisfactory experience being checked in by Ethan. Ethan already seemed to have a palpable attitude when I hadn't pre-signed up for the course (never been an issue before). He went on to sign me up and ask for my donation. Given class was starting in two minutes I was in a bit of a rush. I offered a $5 donation using my (old) card on file. When the card did not work (as I said it likely wouldn't because I had not been in some time), I said I'd just take care of it after class. Ethan (with a rude and short tone) said he wouldn't be here after class so he'd prefer to do it now. I asked Ethan if he was the class instructor (I knew he wasn't because I'd already looked up who was teaching). He said no and so I said ok great, I'll take care of it with them then. Upset he did not get to exert authority over me he said with an more rude (and loud) tone now, "Just make sure you do then!" I calmly paused and said, I just said I'd take care of it however, correct me if I'm wrong but it's a donation right?" I said this to further illustrate that his reaction really wasn't required considering 1. It's a donation and 2. I said I'd take care of it with the instructor. The actual instructor came out to hand me a blanket for class and noticed the look of discontent on my face. She asked if I was ok and I said calmly that Ethan had been a bit rude. Rather than hearing me out Ethan raise his voice and said "NO I WAS DIRECT". I chose not to respond. Needless to say, I did not have a great class. I made my intention to let go, but it was quite hard. Ethan's comportment and lack of care and in interacting with a student is the antithesis of yoga practice. He wasn't kind at all and it ruined my yoga peacetime that night. I always donate but I chose not to after all last night. Not only did Ethan rob me of a positive yoga practice but he impacted his colleagues outcome for donations that night. I will certainly not attend any of his classes and will tell my friends the same. It's unfortunate because this is my favorite studio of the 3 but Ethan's nasty energy makes me consider if it's even worth coming back. Overall, BSY is great but nasty teachers like this impact your reputation and student retention. I hoped he will be held accountable and do the self work or understand the role privilege and identity played in our interactions. Very sad to have to write this review.

Yelp
I have been attending classes at black swan for a month now and I have enjoyed every single one. The instructors are knowledgeable and helpful. It surprised me that they make a point to greet everyone that comes into class and try to learn their name. I have been asked several times if there is anything I would specially like to work on. They are also very good about personal space, which is hard in such packed classes, but if you don't want your poses to be corrected and don't want to be touched they will respect that. Speaking of packed classes... They are always packed. No matter if it is a Monday or a Saturday. The classes are always filled to capacity so if you plan on going register online and get there early so you can get a spot. Also, so you can find parking. The parking lot is very small but there is plenty of street parking available. My favorite class so far has been Monday night with Carmen Cholopisa. She is fun and makes the experience memorable. If you are thinking of going for the first time I highly recommend taking a class with her!

Yelp
During the yoga class, I completely forgot about the outside world and reached this level of inner peace that I haven't felt in a long time.

Yelp
Nice studio, good prices, knowledgeable teachers. Music is a little loud and the space can get chaotic when classes are full. Great value for yoga in Houston!

Yelp
I fell out of my practice since moving to Houston from NYC in Aug 2017, mostly because I couldn't find a good yoga studio. Nothing felt genuine and everything felt judgmental. I even attended a class where the instructor told me he invented crow pose at that studio years before..... So after trying countless studios in the loop, I finally found the one that clicked. Black Swan Yoga is the most down to earth, friendly studio with no frills, no microphones instructors, no pretentious students...just straight up great yoga. I love that they offer beginner, flow, and power, throughout the day, every day, which makes it easy to pick a class based on what my body is telling me. Because it was donation based, I got to try a few classes first for a small price, before signing on for a membership (The unlimited month membership is $88, which is crazyyyyyy cheap). The temperature of the room is great, along with the room size. It does get packed, but it's never uncomfortable. I truly love Nosa's class. His teaching style is fun, yet challenging, and reminds me a lot of the jivamukti flow I used to practice. Only big con is the parking lot and no showers. I avoid the bad parking by showing up 25ish mins before class, staying away from the busy lot, and I can usually find street parking no problem. As for showers I will just have to live with it, and keep my practice to evening times. Since trying BSY, I have come every day. After not practicing regularly for 1.5 years, ya I'd say this place really helped me get back into yoga. Definitely try it out!

Yelp
Had the chance to try flow on a Sunday afternoon. It ended up being a really effective and challenging class that exercised muscles I don't normally work out! I was definitely sore the next day, and I felt very relaxed and accomplished after Raquel's excellently guided class. I don't do yoga often so even though this class was challenging it was super well-taught and Raquel's instructions were easy to understand/follow! My experience here was so positive that I'd really like to come more often. I really like how Black Swan is donation-based, and there are mats available to rent for $5 (though I hope next time I go there I'll have my own mat; it's more comfortable that way, especially when getting drenched in sweat during hot yoga). There are cubbies for your belongings available outside the studio room and inside the room of the class itself, jsyk. Also, for PSA for beginners out there: bring A LOT of water. And a sweat towel. And come early since the classes fill up quickly! Another awesome thing about this place is having JuiceLand right inside. After exerting yourself with yoga for an hour it's super nice to have easy access to delicious smoothies right after. Parking situation: limited/street

Yelp
Overall had a good experience here. When you are entering you'll find that the parking situation is tight so you may need to park on the street. The yoga room is infused with incense which is very relaxing. I would have liked some oils sprinkled on me throughout the workout to intensify the scent. The instructor is great and has a good workout for advanced! She could have gone around more though to assist people in the different poses. Also there was no scented towel given at the end which I miss! I liked it however bc it was less crowded then other studios. Bottom line...good yoga class that has limited on sight parking, missing some high end amenities and could have more attentive instructors but overall I would come again

Yelp
No parking. They let ppl into classes who are walk ins before ppl that actually booked.

Yelp
I was immediately greeted by the front desk. They exhibited fantastic customer service and were always smiling. I enjoy the classes and taking it with different instructors since they all teach differently and love that I get to see their perspectives on yoga. The only con is the parking which can sometimes be frustrating.

Yelp
Parking is awful, one way paths and the parking is basically a box, but only 3 sides you can park in!? You're better off street parking. I love BSY, every instructor I've had from Joe to Carmen to Alicia. They challenge you to work even harder, hold your pose longer, deepen that squat, challenge yourself into an inversion. I recommend trying their inversions workshop to get a boost in the class! You work/sweat your ass off in their classes, but it's all to deserve that Savasana at the end.

Yelp
I came here after hearing several people talk about the donation option which was appealing to me to just tryout and not have to commit if I didn't like it. So far I've been twice (on the donation system and using my class pass) and I love it! The instructors are great and everyone here is really friendly. I would highly recommend this place! The only annoying thing is that parking is limited.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING!!! I love Black Swan Yoga, the staff is super chill and very kind. There's a variety of yoga classes to take from flow to power; which is great if you want some variety in your week. I love that the rooms are heated and the ceilings are low in the practice room. Also, this studio is donation based which is great for when you're balling and you can afford to share a little extra to help support the studio vs when you're struggling and you really need some meditation to finish out the week. I'd 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
This is probably one of my favorite places to practice yoga in Houston after having tried several popular yoga studios. I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that the classes are hot yoga which I love. It wasn't clear to me that that's what I would be getting into though until I walked into my first class so I definitely suggest hydrating beforehand / bringing a large water bottle for class. I live out of town but I visit Houston frequently so I also find it to be extremely convenient that the studio is donation based so I can pay and go as I please without dealing with membership fees. The class itself was great, I forget what my instructors name was but she was super helpful with difficult poses and curated a really playful and upbeat playlist for class which was new for me in a yoga setting where typically the music is slow and instrumental. My only critique was that at times it felt like the session was being made up on the spot, there were long pauses of what we should do next or we would spend way too long on poses that only two people in the class had the stamina to perform and this was a standard level power class. Perhaps I will try a new instructor next time but overall I really enjoyed myself here.

Yelp
I really like the sessions but honestly they need to cap the amount of people on some of their sessions. It's always so packed that they can never start on time because they are making everyone be 1 cm apart (I am 3 fingers apart from the person on my left and right. Can you imagine trying to do these hard enough poses without hitting or sweating on others? I think if they could cap the number of people better this would be super worth. I had the time too type this whole review and it's 7:08 when the class is supposed to start at 7. Why? So they can squeeeze in 3 more people.

Yelp
I really love the instructors and vibe of Black Swan. I give a more detailed review of Black Swan on my review of the Kirby studio since that's my regular spot. Now that I've checked out both I think Kirby is still my choice location. The studio itself at White Oak seems a little smaller but the large windows are great. Only bad thing is people hangout and talk out front the windows so it's a tad distracting. There's only 5 little cubbies at this location too to put your things. So either share or drop your purse on the ground. I don't like taking my phone or anything into the room so I wish there was more space to leave belongings. Also, as a former Austinite, I love Juiceland. I like the whole order for after class pick ups BUT the register line for Juiceland and the check in line for yoga get mixed up and for people walking in and out it gets really crammed. Lastly, parking at this location isn't great. The lot has an odd shaped space for parking that doesn't fit that many cars and the studio is on a busy street. Best bet would be maybe parking in the neighborhood and walking over? Yoga is still great here. Check out Ethan, Austin or Jordan!

Yelp
My girlfriends and I visited Black Swan during a girls week in Houston. I was instantly attracted to the studio for also having a juice bar. We attended the 9am flow class with Cindy and our whole experience was great. My friend needed a mat and was able to rent one no problem ($5), I wanted a souvenir so I purchased a graphic tank for around $20. The studio is donation-based so the cost of the class is per the yogi, my girlfriends and I donated $10 each and I probably would have given more if I wasn't also buying some swag. The class itself was perfect, Cindy had just returned from Mexico and had brought home all the happy sunny vibes. She started our class by having us introduce ourselves to someone sitting close, which was so yogi-like and nice. My girlfriends also commented that they appreciated that warm gesture. The flow practice was just what I needed during a busy week with not a lot of therapeutic activities. Cindy was easy to follow for it being our first class at the studio and made some helpful adjustments too. The studio was cute with mirrors on two walls, a black painted brick wall and windows on the others, some green plants really gave it all the zen feels too. Five stars for the studio & for Cindy, hope we can come to practice again next time we're in Houston.
