Black Tap Brings a Slice of New York to Singapore

"From pop singer The Weeknd to actress Katie Holmes, celebrities in New York City have been flocking to Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer for towering decadent milkshakes and classic burgers. Now, a touch of Big Apple glamour has landed in Singapore with the opening of the institution’s first outpost in Asia. The 133-seat restaurant in the Marina Bay Sands serves burgers, sandwiches and, of course, over-the-top milkshakes, which are aptly-known as 'CrazyShakes.'" - Kenneth Goh

Second time coming here and it’s always a pleasant experience. Although we were late for our reservation, we waited for awhile before we were kindly ushered in by the staff. For our whole meal, we were served by the same male waiter who was very friendly and patient with our orders. The food was really good as well and we shared among three people, making it more worthwhile to try various dishes. We ended off with their signature shake which is a must first try! 😚😚 Will definitely recommend pple to come here, although reserving this place may be better since they usually have long queues.

We had a satisfying meal at Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer at Marina Bay Sands. Our group tried a variety of burgers—the Wagyu Steakhouse, Pizza Burger, Old Fashioned, and the Greg Norman. The patties were juicy and cooked just right. While the seasoning was on the milder side, the well-paired sauces brought each burger to life—especially the blue cheese sauce on the Greg Norman, which added a bold, creamy touch. We also shared a serving of the Mexican Hot Sauce Wings, which packed a nice kick without overwhelming the palate. The highlight was the blue cheese mayo dip—rich, tangy, and perfect with the wings. Portions were generous, and we were too full to try their signature CrazyShakes, but they looked amazing—we might just return next time just for those. Given the location and quality, the prices felt fair for gourmet burgers. Great spot, good food, and a fun, upbeat atmosphere! Service was prompt and friendly—definitely a spot worth visiting if you're craving a hearty, well-built burger in town.

Burgers were tasty, but I wouldn’t say it’s superb or outstanding as the other reviews point out. Meat was nicely charred and you do have a choice over how well you want the beef to be cooked. The sauces, especially the blue cheese and house buttermilk dill in the Greg Norman ($28) were harmonious. The Wagyu steakhouse burger was the favourite between me and my partner. The portions were also a work of American art too. Now for the price, it is however, underwhelming. The onion rings and fries were not particularly seasoned or flavourful. The burger themselves, while good were not exactly mindblowing or the experience you’d expect from such a popular place as this. The staff were also dealing with a high volume of guests, so even though dedicated attention was structured into their hospitality policy, they do seem stretched.

Always a good time here! I've visited a few times and it's consistently a pleasant experience. The milkshakes may not the best one but beautifully presented. The food is decent overall, and sometimes it's the simple things, like a fresh arugula salad, that really hit the spot . Chill vibe overall. Recommend making a reservation though, it can get pretty busy.

Disappointing experience last evening as honestly the food was not up to what I would expect from Black Tap and as a dining venue within the prestigious Marina Bay Sands. We were seated in the back right corner area, a rather dark space with little character nor ambiance. The service team was nice, but getting their attention to take our order and for other items while we dined was challenging. Only the back server/bus boy was super attentive and constantly on the move, a young man with a darker complexion. As for the food, my wife ordered the Impossible Burger, which she has had in many other establishments. The “meat” patty was overly salty and as a whole the burger was plain boring. I had the portobello mushroom sandwich and the mushroom was overly fried, tasting more like the oil it was fried in rather than anything mushroom. The accompanying sweet potato fries we both ordered at an extra cost with our burgers were soggy, horribly limp things, that oozed oil to the touch (see photo). After our initial order had gone in, we asked a waitress if we could add crispy onions to my wife’s Impossible Burger, we got a full order of fried onion rings instead - okay, fair enough mistake, but not what we requested. Those onion rings were okay, but so wide cut, not really enjoyable. We also ordered the brussel sprouts appetizer, they were tasty on their own, probably the best thing we ordered, but the accompanying sauce was too vinegary, not really a good compliment to the sprouts. Overall, a real disappointment considering the price we paid, location and expectations. We will not be dining here again despite being regular visitors to Singapore and Marina Bay Sands.

Black Tap at Marina Bay Sands is known for its over-the-top milkshakes and indulgent burgers, so I decided to give it a try. While the food itself was enjoyable, the overall experience felt somewhat mediocre, mostly due to the uninspiring ambiance. The open-concept seating in the mall atrium lacks warmth, and the industrial-style decor doesn’t do much to elevate the atmosphere. It feels more like a quick dining spot rather than a place where you’d want to linger. As for the food, I had the Wagyu Burger, which was solid. The patty was juicy and well-seasoned, complemented by melted cheese, crispy bacon, and fried onions, adding a nice crunch. It was definitely a satisfying burger, but nothing particularly mind-blowing. The wings were flavorful with a sticky glaze that had a nice balance of sweetness and spice. They were cooked well—crispy on the outside and tender inside. Again, they were enjoyable but didn’t stand out compared to some of the better wing places in Singapore. Now, the milkshake was exactly what you’d expect from Black Tap—big, bold, and over-the-top. It was thick, creamy, and loaded with toppings, making it a fun treat. But in all honesty, while it’s visually impressive, the actual taste is nothing extraordinary, and it leans a bit too sweet for my liking. Service was efficient and friendly, but with the mall’s bustling environment and the lack of cozy seating, it didn’t feel like a place you’d want to sit and relax. Overall, Black Tap is decent for a casual, indulgent meal, but it’s not a must-visit. The food is good but not exceptional, and the ambiance doesn’t add much to the experience. If you’re already in Marina Bay Sands and craving a big burger and shake, it’s worth a stop, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

The food was great and the atmosphere was very chill. I did feel that the burgers didn't defer much in terms of ingredients, but they were both great. The cookie milkshake we ordered was great, if a little messy. The servers were clearing our plates extremely quickly which was a little annoying at times, but everything else was great
