A North Beach classic since 1991, famous for Baja fish tacos, seared tuna, and a rollicking, memorabilia‑filled dining room. Locally owned and proudly Corpus, it’s dinner and a scene a short stroll from the surf.

Our waitress Megan was absolutely amazing! She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome the moment we sat down. She checked on us often without being intrusive, gave great communication and always had a smile on her face. Our drinks stayed full, the food came out quickly, and she made the whole dining experience so enjoyable. You can tell she truly cares about her customers. We’ll definitely be back, this restaurant Never fails to have the best food and drinks. Every time me and my hubby come to Corpus we have to stop by. Thank you again for always taking care of us. Cheers to The Grog drink!!

Google
The Calamari is the best. I had the fried fish basket and it was delicious. My wife had the shrimp basket and she loved it. Most definitely will return when I'm back in the area. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I totally recommend this restaurant to anyone who's looking for a seafood restaurant

Once you get into town, Drive straight here and enjoy the mouth watering food and hospitality Blackbeard gives you. Honestly handsome down the best joint on the beach front! Great alcohol choices as well if you need. PS. Blackened Chicken & Shrimp will leave you speechless!

We showed up around closing time and still got great service and great food! I got the shrimp po boy while my husband got the patty melt with an extra patty. The food was delicious and came out fast. Very happy with our experience and will be eating here again! Took our family the next day and it was a different vibe in the day. I suggest going in the evening time! My mom got a burger and they burned a skull and cross bones on top which I thought was super cool.

My family and I were visiting the Aquarium and I asked someone where to get good fish…. We weren’t disappointed! The catfish fillets were perfect and their coleslaw was great. My family tried different items and all were perfectly cooked. We enjoyed our visit and our meal. Will definitely return!

My husband and I visited this quaint place on our way home from White Cap Beach in Corpus Christi. Our waitress was fantastic, she was patient, knowledgeable, courteous and very attentive. The steak my husband had was prepared perfectly. I had the fried fish combo and everything on the plate was delicious. The oysters are breaded with a light corn meal. The fish was fresh and deliciously seasoned. The shrimp were a good size and also deliciously breaded. I do recommend Black Beards.

Came from out of town, San Antonio area and found this gem by the Beach great fish and chips ,burger and fries and the buffalo wings were great but could’ve had a little bit more sauce! Blue cheese ,ranch ,tarter sauce had great flavor. This place gets packed and I believe its family owned, limited parking. The staff was great and its a must try! Out door & and Indoor seating

Drinks on point. Friendly waitress. Food was delish. Daughter loved pointing out the classic rock icons all over the building. Also took great pic's in the stocks photo op out front. We enjoyed listening to the live music play oldies. Good experience all around.

Yelp
This place was very good. I started off with some chips and salsa which was straight godsend I recommend the salsa and chips. Then I tried a queso burger which was amazing. Then I got a popcorn shrimp wrap which was very fresh. This place is awesome I recommend!

Yelp
An amazing hangout for great food and brew in Corpus Christi North Island. The service was great. Dominique did a wonderful job of walking us through the extensive menu. I started with the calamari. The very best I've ever had. Lightly breaded and lightly fried. For mains, I had the fried Mahi with onion rings while my wife had the chicken fried chicken. Both were simply the best.

Yelp
Well known Texas coastal establishment. We arrived on a Saturday evening and didn't have long of a wait. We put our name on a list and was called 20 minutes later. Our server was great... friendly and helpful. We ordered calamari, seafood queso, seafood salad, catfish basket and diablo pasta. Pros: Good service. Food was good. Shrimp was great. Not a long wait. Lively Casual Live music Cons: I prefer calamari with a mixture of rings and tentacles so the calamari was not my favorite. Food was good, not great. Lively Live music Overall, a nice visit to a local establishment with live music, drinks and good food.

Yelp
Had a good experience last month so tried it again. And again I was impressed with the food, service and the ambiance. For the price of their food and the serving size you get, it is a good deal. I got the Blackbeard's burger bunless with an iced tea. I also had a cup of the pirate stew just because of the name.lol The stew was very good with shrimp, sausage, brisket, and chicken. It was pretty spicy to me but I am a spice whimp. Others would probably find it just right. My burger came out quickly and was hot and flavorful, I will eat here again,

Yelp
Shrimp sampler with coleslaw, YUM! After a day by the pool at the Doubletree Corpus my husband walked across the parking lot to order to go. The 6 deep fried shrimp were huge & filled me up with the coleslaw. My husband enjoyed the Cajun & cold peel & eat.

Yelp
Food was okay... Service was great by everyone but my server. Kinda hectic. Lucky to have table by live band guy.... not!
google avatar

Iva S.

Yelp
Staff was friendly. I ordered the shrimp tacos. Two are plenty for one person. And fried pickles. Along with a drink. End up buying a Tshirt as well.

Yelp
Seafood was on our mind & not really knowing our way around, we picked Blackbeard's mostly because of the name. We chose well. From the purple exterior to the low ceilings to the vintage 80s (the real 80s, not what Gen Z thinks it is) vibe, we were not disappointed. Tasha is an amazing server. She helped us navigate the substantial drink menu and find the frozen margaritas! We tarted with a mango and a raspberry and ordered the seafood queso. The queso may have been the best of everything we ordered - high praise indeed. It's a regular, thick queso with plenty of crab and shrimp added, and it comes with sturdy chips. I got the Baja fish tacos and my wife ordered the shrimp poboy. The tacos - I ordered them blackened, and I'm glad I did. The pieces of fish were HUGE! Everything was fresh, and the fish was perfectly cooked. The poboy not only came with an abundance of shrimp, but the also put a little skull and crossbones brand on top of the bun. Cute! We later ordered a flight of margaritas (for dessert, let's say). You can do a whole lot worse for fresh seafood. This was a five-star experience through-and-through, and Tasha was 10 out of 10!

Yelp
The diablo shrimp pasta is amazing, everyone loves it. I think any menu item with the blackbeards flag logo next to it is an awesome choice.

Danea F.

Yelp
Wasn't sure what to expect because of the mixed reviews but, the food was delicious, the service was great from CC. We went around lunch time(12ish) and it wasn't very packed, not loud and played some good jams! I would recommend the baja tacos, tasted better than they looked on the menu!
google avatar

Alissa W.

Yelp
The food was good! I ordered onion rings as an appetizer and they were breaded really well. I got chicken alfredo for my dinner and it came with garlic bread. The pasta was delicious but the garlic bread tasted fruity for some reason. My mom ordered shrimp and it was way too much breading. The ambiance was lacking, and wasn't much peace due to shouting kids and us being placed in the back. Service was great and live music was great as well! Prices were also decent. Three people ate for only $60.

Yelp
We had the Hawaiian burger. One the best I've had. The decor was great plus it was decked out for Halloween which made it even better. I could have stayed for hours and not seen everything. So much fun and everyone was helpful and attentive. Would go back again for sure. Nothing fancy just good food , great service and fun atmosphere.

Yelp
Incredibly disappointing. The staff was not particularly attentive - we had to flag someone down to take our order. My husband's salmon special was incredibly salty and his steamed veggies were cold. The coconut shrimp on my sampler tasted exactly like the frozen shrimp I buy at HEB and pop in the air fryer. The fishtanks we sat next to were in need of a clean, which isn't super appetizing. There are just too many other good places to go; Blackbeard's isn't worth the money.
google avatar

Lisa K.

Yelp
The ambience is exactly what you would expect- a lot of things to look at ! Prices were reasonable, music was flowing, comfortable inside not too cold not too hot (very important to me now being in this HOT HUMID TEXAS weather lol). Our waiter RAY - was on the ball! You could tell he loves his job and has probably been there a while , maybe even a manger just helping out. I got the 2 combo basket with Shrimp & Fish fliet with potato salad for the side -$10.99 Plus an order of chips and salsa- $2.49. My daughter got the chicken strip basket with upgrade of onion rings (3.99$) - 9.99$ us being new to Texas we were unsure of the container that came with the chicken strips and turned out in Texas most strips are served with a gravy (and it was actually good). Over all the food was good. But lacking ANY SALT- The nice warm chips had no salt , the onion rings had no salt - new to me. The potato salad is most likely store bought and I wasn't entirely fond of it. Potatoes were way too hard. Ray did keep the refills coming. The rest of my family (too much to mention) said the same for the seasoning. NO SALT - so things tasted a little bland. As soon as we sat down it really began to fill up so I'm assuming it's a very popular place on North Shore. I'll be willing to try it again but share with someone! It was a large serving for the price so for those bigger appetites that's the place to go!

Yelp
Went there 2 nights ago. Server was Stephen. He recommended the margaritas flight to drink. So good. Had the ribeye steak. Grilled to perfection. Ambiance was superb. Enjoyed the band playing 70's music.

Emilee A.

Yelp
I asked for cheese for my burger about 2-3 times and our server (cece) refused to bring it to me, as another worker walked by we asked him and he had to bring it out. Again our server (cece) never once checked on our table as we were eating or anything until we go our check! Blackbeards has been a favorite of mine, but just very disappointing

Yelp
It's a pirate themed rock and roll restaurant and bar that's family friendly enough to bring kids. The atmosphere is fun, the music is good, and the staff look like they are having fun and care about your experience. The food is good and the drinks are tasty. It's not upscale, but it is tasty and worth a stop. Go, enjoy a little.
google avatar

Adam B.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my stop at this pirate themed restaurant. The cheese dip was actually not bad, and I'd recommend it. Service was very friendly and pleasant. It's not super fancy, but I'd come back!
google avatar

Tommy M.

Yelp
Good food but they have a long wait time for a table mine was 20 minutes don't get the fettuccine it's a scam for 10.99 it's not that much to get me full I like the idea of the restaurant it's a nice pirate themed restaurant good music good service the ambiance was loud but comforting
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
I had the chicken sandwich a couple times and it tasted great. They give you a huge chunk of chicken that's larger than the bun. The service is speedy and friendly. I also like the atmosphere. It's family friendly and there's plenty of seats.

K K.

Yelp
Not just your typical beach restaurant, yes the walls were solid brick, but a necessity to survive in this location!! The waitress was very friendly, the food came quickly and was very good. I had both shrimp and crab meat with every bite of salad, all the way to the end of my plate!! Excellent combination!

Noe J.

Yelp
Outstanding Service from Jagger at Blackbeard's in Corpus! I had an amazing experience at Blackbeard's in Corpus Christi, and a huge part of that was thanks to our incredible server, Jagger! From the moment we sat down, Jagger was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. He had great menu recommendations, kept our drinks full, and made the whole dining experience fun and enjoyable. Not only was he fast and efficient, but he also had a great personality that made us feel welcome. If you're visiting Blackbeard's, I highly recommend asking for Jagger--you won't be disappointed! 5/5 stars--will definitely be back!

Yelp
This is a really cool place! The decor is super fun and the staff was really nice. The good: The pirate seafood soup was pretty good. The seafood queso was excellent. The blackened shrimp was fantastic. The garlic shrimp was really good. The peel and eat was tasty. And the hot peel and eat shrimp were excellent. The popcorn shrimp were large with a perfect amount of breading, though a touch bland. The bad: The fried shrimp were overbreaded, too thin and bland. The charro beans were bland with just a pepper taste. The fries were bland and underdone. So in conclusion, you should definitely go here, but avoid the fried options. Everything else we had was top notch. A friend said their fish tacos were also excellent.

Veronica S.

Yelp
Service was wonderful! Food was delicious. Our table ordered popcorn shrimp, chicken tenders, bacon cheese burger and chicken fried steak. Very tasty! We also had a flight of margaritas to try various flavors and coconut was the winner!

Yelp
Visited here for dinner after a beach stop. No wait no rush. Got seated. No booth just tables and chairs. We received a high chair for our daughter. We ordered couple waters and soda. My son ordered chicken Alfredo. My husband ordered fish tacos and seafood queso. I did not know what tk order I feel there should have been more is a seafood menu and more options so I stuck with a grilled catfish and baked potato and charro beans The seafood queso came with shrimp and lump crab. It was really greasy, no shrimp in it but I did see the lump crab meat. The nacho chips they gave us were stale and hard. My sons Alfredo was way too garlicky and salty. My charro beans were hard and not cooked all the way. The waitress was super friendly and nice no complaints there at all. Wish there they a broader menu for being "on the beach" I was looking for ceviche or fresh seafood. Looks like fried was a big hit there I just wasn't looking for that. It was nice temperature inside. Parking was a bit tricky but nothing crazy. Bathrooms were nice and clean as well.

Yelp
Came for a birthday. The two gen z hostesses gave us dead fish "you're bothering us" looks when we walked in happy to be there. Buzz kill. Menus were just tossed on the table and the girl walked away without saying anything. The seafood queso could have at least been stirred before being served. It was good. Only three small shrimp in it tho and two small spoonfuls of tiny shredded crab. Waitress was very nice and attentive. My rating is simply because the bathrooms are ridiculously neglected for such a successful business. It looks like months and months of caked on fifth. Smells like sewage and disease. The toilets, floors and walls haven't been cleaned for months. Literal sh*t stains everywhere. The doors have gaps where everyone waiting to get in and guests outside the door can see straight through a 1.5" gap when you're trying to get redressed and the latch barely works. This is all simple laziness and really is hard to respect. We won't come back due to lack of pride in the business and neglecting to put guests comfort and sanitation first.

Yelp
Located right behind our hotel so grabbed a quick lunch as we got into town. Had the Top Shelf Margarita flight and the only one we enjoyed was the Patron. One I just left there as it tasted like pure alcohol. The other two I only drank cuz I paid for them. I usually like a variety of tequilas in my margaritas but not this time. Shared tacos and queso: the tacos were good. The queso was more like doctored up canned cheese. Not sure if we will return. Staff was friendly. Restaurant was cold but they were good about turning off the ceiling fan for us.

J W.

Yelp
Had a great Sunday night at Blackbeards on the Beach. Jennifer was playing piano and singing--she was fantastic and took lots of fun requests. The food was hot, tasty, and reasonably priced. I'll definitely be back when she's performing again.
google avatar

Betty H.

Yelp
Service was awful! Too long to order after getting our drinks then when we did order that took long. Food was cold and missing items. Kept hearing the cooks say hold the tickets! That should have been a sign to us from the start! Several customers got up and walked out because they were not acknowledged after being seated at their table!

Yelp
Blackbeard's has to be one of my favorite accidents yet! Located on the opposite side of the bridge from where I was staying, my goal was to go to one of those charming hole in the wall by the sea restaurants I love so much when I travel to the beach and wow did I (or should I say, Apple Maps) pick right!! Blackbeard's is the kind of joint my grandpa would take me when I was young, that lead to my parents taking me when I was a little older, which lead to me loving the vibe so much myself as an adult. The laidback service and great food (not to mention drinks) are exactly the kind of relaxing experience you want at the beach. In an even greater stroke of luck, this evening came with live entertainment in the form for Ruben Limas. Somehow a man I had never heard of before sat on a stool calmly belting out songs that pulled memories I didn't even know I had. Being serenaded to Jimmy Buffett's "A Pirate Looks At Forty" while enjoying a cold beer and the spicy pescado diablo pasta was the absolute highlight of my trip. Everyone in the place seemed so happy to be there, staff and patrons alike, and I can't wait to go back and unwind next time I find myself in town!
google avatar

Kiwi D.

Yelp
Early stop in and ordered a drink and then the app sampler. The Dynamo sauce had turned and tasted like oysters. I let the bartender know, was she took off the bill, thankfully. I was surprised it was even an additional part to the bill. The wings had a drizzle of Frank's hot sauce on them. When I was done with my appetizer and ordered another drink, they asked if I was ready for my bill. I wasn't and was going to order dinner, but at that point I figured I wasn't welcome any longer since I complained about the sauce.
google avatar

Jenna M.

Yelp
A cool spot. Friendly folks and good drink specials but the food was just ok. Not a lot do flavors and all our sides, fries/veggies came out cold. The best part was the catfish and shrimp tacos. Everything else I would pass on. Cool location but wouldn't come back.

Jrm M.

Yelp
The food was so mediocre and expensive, just a big tourist trap don't go. 40 minute wait then 40 minutes for our food. Not worth it
google avatar

Corey C.

Yelp
Loved the popcorn shrimp basket! Someone suggested that as a good menu item. Definitely stop in here if you're ever in the area. The bartender was very attentive and the food came out quickly and hot. They make their own breading this is not your normal tourist frozen seafood. Love the pirate bar look. A little off the normal path. Make your way over here!
google avatar

Nicole P.

Yelp
Excellent service! Excellent fish tacos! We flew in from DFW and were so hungry for some good fish. From the outside, we were thinking maybe not. From the moment we walked in- wow! It's a must try in corpus!
google avatar

Vicky P.

Yelp
Great food and amazing service! Ambiance was nice. I had a tortilla bowl soup with some fried mushrooms and I thought they were amazing! Later had a cup of black coffee that was phenomenal as it wasn't watery. It was pure, delicious black coffee. 10/10 would return again.
google avatar

Yelp
Skip this place! Our margs were room temp bar lime with a couple ice cubes. Appetizer was good but the mains were luke warm. Server tried her best but this place is crap.
google avatar

Sammi W.

Yelp
This was our first time to visit Blackbeards and we were incredibly impressed. All of the food we ordered was delicious and the price point was great for the amount of food, the drinks were strong and reasonably priced. The staff was helpful and very professional, we will definitely be back next summer!
google avatar

Norma Jean V.

Yelp
Looked this up on Yelp and decided to try it for the fish tacos. It's exactly as the name implies, a dank lil Pirate's restaurant with awesome food. My bro and I came in just as they opened. We got Victoria who recommended the Victoria Special, Fish tacos, Grog, and some crazy queso sauce. Dont bring the kids, this is an adult ambiance that makes one wanna go out and buy a Harley! Loved it and will def be back:)

T M.

Yelp
Excellent place a few blocks from the USS Lexington. Great atmosphere and food choices. The servers are personable and family friendly. Fish tacos are great.
google avatar

Kyle M.

Yelp
Let's start by saying service was incredibly slow. We were seated in the back corner and nobody came to get us for 15 minutes until we went to speak to someone about the service. Everyone seemed surprised that a server hadn't been assigned to our table. Waitress was very friendly but took forever to bring any food to the point that our appetizers were cancelled because our entrees came out first. My wife had to get her entree boxed up because everyone was done with eating by the time it was ready. Had to constantly keep asking for updates on the simplest things like dressing for the salad. Nothing on the bill was comped as a result of the bad service. Establishment was cramped, dark, and loud with live music (not the worst part of the experience). Not necessarily the most comfortable eating experience. I will not even get started with the amount of flies that thrive in this restaurant. Food was decent but not at all worth the hassle. Will not be returning any time soon.

Austin G.

Yelp
The food was very bad and the service too they forgot a lot of things that I had asked for on my build your own burger over all bad experienc!
google avatar

Lucy H.

Yelp
After a long day of competition we had the pleasure of relaxing to live music, delicious food, and a fun staff! Service was great and the live band made the evening a treat!
google avatar

Patsy R.

Yelp
The bartenders make this place. We were staying nearby during our vacation and ended up here daily. Super fun beachy vacation vibe. The food is excellent and they pour heavy. It was our own personal Cheers for the week. Long live Blackbeards!

Caleb U.

Yelp
Food was amazing and it was super quiet at lunch when we were there. Service was some of the best I have had. Every bit on par with some of the fanciest places I have been. Stephen was 10 stars.

Mafe M.

Yelp
Great theme and music. Food was amazing. All staff was friendly and they make sure to do their job! Megan was our waitress and she went above and beyond!! Came in here with my ESA and all staff was super pet friendly. They even gave my dog some treats. A big shoutout to Megan again. Amazing service and great food!!

Yelp
Of course we had to stop back in here on our way back home to Ft Worth. And of course the food and service was just a good as we remembered it. Our server checked on our repeatedly before and during our meal and wr never had empty glasses. We came around 11 when they first opened so we were seated right away. No yummy adult beverages this time since we had a 6 hour drive ahead of us....booooo. Hubby ordered the fish of the day, snapper, fried with french fries and a side salad. Oh, don't forget thr diablo sauce! This is a must order. Fish was flaky and hot and fries were crispy. Kid ordered the shrimp po boy with fries and said it wad soooo yummy. I ordered the chicken club wrap with a loaded bakes potato. The bacon was a little undercooked imo, but I'm one of those weirdos that likes burnt bacon.

Michael S.

Yelp
This place was enjoyable, the employees were friendly, the waitress was quick to get our order and bring the food out. The helpings were a little smaller than expected, but it tasted good. We were visiting for a weekend and went inside once and ordered take out the next day. It was a good experience.

Yelp
Good food, great music, reasonable price. Worth the 400 mile drive. Family friendly, decor is varied.
