Great food and service. I had the fish tacos and my partner had the Turkey, Bacon, Swiss sandwich. Both were fantastic and arrived at the table no more than 15 minutes after ordering. They also had a heated patio which was awesome.

Delicious burgers and fries. The fries are so crispy! I’ll definitely be coming back more than once

*Update * Still great! Had the house salad today and it was delicious! One of our favorite lunch time spots. Don't miss the seafood chowder, best and most unique I've ever had. They have cute new bowls too, my photo is from awhile ago. All their sandwiches are 🤌 you can't go wrong here. Love this place.

This was my second time here, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the BLT, and my husband got the French Dip. I have had BLT's from all over the world, and while this one wasn't my the best in the world, it was the best I've had here in WA. The only reason the BLT wasn't the best was simply due to the bacon (I'm used to English bacon). My husband had the French dip, and again, it was superb. We also got an amazing size of German chocolate cake. This is quickly becoming my favorite place to eat. A must try for anyone in the neighborhood.

This cafe was delicious! I had one of their burgers with a bacon tomato jam. I switched the cheese out for a Tillamook white cheddar. It also had carmelized onions. The taste was amazing! It came with matchstick fries. There were other sides but all with an up charge. You order at the counter and considering that, I thought the prices were a little high.

Food was okay but, Overpriced. Crowded in the dinning area.

Interesting mix of restaurant, coffee shop and bar. Food was great. Staff was helpful. Great place for a quick lunch. Lots of people where grabbing to-go.

I like this place, friendly, well lit, and good food! Atmosphere and service are lowered because the employed concept of ordering at the counter, taking a seat with a number has too much cafeteria feel for me. If I'm going out, I want full service, especially since they prompt for a tip. Additionally they expect parties to bus their own tables. These are small things but they do bug 🤔

If you need to find a "go to" restaurant in a great little neighborhood, make Blackbird your spot in Richmond Beach. So many family and friends tell us when they're in our neighborhood they stop by because it's one of their favorite places. Today I was reminded again that everything they make is fantastic. A couple of light items on their menu were some of my favorite things I've had in a while, curry chicken soup, and a goat cheese, beet, and pistachio salad. Simply can't go wrong with Blackbird.

The menu screams "comfort food, but make it fancy," and I respect that energy. I started with the seafood chowder because duh, and it was so creamy it could have solved my childhood trauma. The cocktails? Absolute bangers. I sipped a Mango Mule while my spouse had a non-alcoholic italian soda or something like that - Super tasty but I don't have space in my stomach or memory for non-alchohol substances. The vibe? Equal parts hip and "I walked here from my split-level." It's like if Capitol Hill got tired and moved north for a breather. Bonus points for a killer playlist and for having an outdoor patio even if it was too wet for us to sit at.

This is my favorite small business in the area by far! The staff is always friendly and remembers the locals because they're also part of the community. You can always count on them for a smile and great service. The food is good any time of day! Our favorite is the Saturday exclusive crème brûlée doughnuts. The salmon sandwich is a go-to for us for lunch but the rotating specials are seasonal and always fresh. My only gripe is they are closed on Sundays! They always seem the most enticing on a Sunday. Highly recommend for groups, casual lunch dates, and with the outdoor seating you can bring the pets!

Happy hour on a Monday evening. Very pleasant. Not busy. Order at the counter, so minimal service - but that's the new model, right? Things are just too damn expensive for a good restaurant to spend money on service. Sad but true. Signature cocktails were complex and tasty. Burrata appetizer was great. Mushroom quesadilla was phenomenal. We split the blue cheese burger and were super happy. Overall a really great experience...everyone was casual and friendly, not stuffy. The menu is uncomplicated and not...surprising...very good. We paid about $100

This is one of our favorite neighborhood happy hour spots. We always enjoy their RB sliders, haystack fries, beef skewers & seafood chowder. Often times, hubby and I will split the oven roasted chicken salad, which is delish with all kinds of yummy bits! If you see the German chocolate cake on their counter - that is a must try! They have other baked goods on their counter that they make in-house. Service is quick and friendly. Order at the counter and they will bring the food out to you. They have an outdoor patio, as well as indoor seating. It doesn't matter how busy they are, there always is enough seating.

Service was good at the bar! I had Burrata and the house salad that had a good dressing on it, although the salad was dressed with too much dressing. Burrata was good with the toast. Pesto was good and salty, tomatoes were fresh, the Burrata had balsamic and basil chiffonade on top.

Wish they had more than 1 vegan options. Fries were good though. Husband liked his dish.

This is a small, casual, neighborhood restaurant with a pleasant patio area. You order at the counter and then grab a table. They bring the food to you and seem to semi-serve the table from there. They have a couple good burgers and a really good Reuben. We like the fries, too. Small bar area with a small TV but it's not the place to go for the big game. Full bar and limited parking so a lot of neighborhood people just walk to it. Super friendly service.

I pass Blackbird each time I go to Richmond Beach Library, be it on foot or via car. The people coming and going from the restaurant via vehicle I have found to be considerate when I am crossing their path on the sidewalk and they are arriving/departing. This morning, Monday 22 January 2024, I decided to make Blackbird itself a stop when going to the library to find a new book to read. The parking lot was mostly full, with a few spots open further away from the restaurant. An electric sign in the window clearly communicated it was open. I opened the door to find pastries on display inside the front entrance as well as a friendly and alert counter worker. Looking over the offerings, I was happy to see an item I had spotted in photo(s) on the website of the business, croissants. They were on the larger side and looked texturally light, so I went with two. Payment was straightforward and the worker was careful in packaging the two croissants to go. They did turn out to be textually airy (fluffy) and the interior was moist and buttery. The exterior showed its layering well and was a beautiful golden brown. All around an enjoyable experience.

Cute joint. Sandwich was huge. Coffee was good. Order at the counter, find yourself a seat sort of place. Small bar in the corner. People were friendly. I wish more places were like this.

Delicious food, nice atmosphere, great service. It's a small space so you'll place your order at counter, get a number and they'll bring your food out. I cannot wait to go back and work my way through the menu!

I have visited here at least fifteen times. I have eaten breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner. The quality of the food is what makes me return. I'll break it down in meals . First, for breakfast they have a great array of quality baked goods. For weekdays, the Croque Brioche Breakfast Sandwich, that has Dijon, gruyere, egg, ham. This was a high quality sandwich, full of cheese and ham. You can get this, with a side of scones or coffee cake and be very happy. Or, the Chorizo Scramble; Roasted Poblanos, Jack Cheese, Chorizo, side of potatoes and flour tortillas is delicious. For Saturday morning,I come for the Joes Scramble, which has Italian sausage, shallot, spinach, parmesan, scrambled eggs, side of potatoes is delicious. Or, Brisket Hash which has Yukon potatoes, peppers, onion, fried egg, scallions . Get this an a mimosa and you are in brunch heaven. Moving on to lunch., I have to give a shout out to their seafood bisque. Something I order no matter the time. Rich and creamy. Sometimes more potatoes than seafood, depending on the chef. A real must have for me. Lunch, I order the incredible Salmon Sandwich. This is excellent. Grilled Coho salmon, pesto mayo, greens, tomato, onion. Really, this my favorite order here. The salmon is softly grilled, my favorite. I usually get the soup with this, not a big French fry fan. If you order this sandwich, a glass of their excellent white wine and a homemade dessert, you have an excellent meal. One tip: come on Monday, where wine is half off. I have also been here for happy hour. My favorite seafood chowder is on the list. Also had Cesar salad, mushroom quesadillas, sliders and Vietnamese beef skewers. All delicious. Their dinner choices are innovative. Had beef stroganoff, that was really good. This is an order and mostly serve yourself restaurant. If you are willing to accept this service, you will have an excellent meal.

I've been here twice within the last 7-8 months to meet friends out. Both times I had dinner (fish and chips) and they really are phenomenal. I like that this place is small with good service. There's parking (yippee) always a plus. I took home the beet and goat cheese salad and I'm happy I ordered it. It was delish! I would recommend this spot (it's mixed crowd age wise only). Mostly, senior citizens. Good solid food. Oh, I also took home a croissant - it was meh. (sorry, not sorry but go to a dedicated and celebrated French bakery for your croissants if you have the taste for one

Charming outdoor area and was in the area since our eldest was at a school related gathering nearby. They were so friendly behind the counter, the weather was beautiful so there were quite a few people sitting outside and the person behind the counter seeing me masked gently suggested I put utensils down on a table to save a spot while ordering. I had a beet salad which was good with freshly cracked pepper and its goat cheese, a latte, and their signature cookie. I loved the sublime atmosphere which was the perfect calming balance after fighting the traffic navigating between Saturday morning kids activities.

My family and I love this place. The last time which was Saturday we were very upset. Salad was way over dressed and wilted. Asked for another round of drinks but were denied because they were closing at 8PM on a Saturday night. No last call to give us a heads up. Otherwise I love this place.

We stopped by here close to closing time, but everything on the menu was still available! This is a seat yourself kind of establishment, walk up to the cashier to place your order. We ordered cocktails and dinner. I had the Christer with fresh muddled basil and fresh lime juice. My husband ordered off menu and had a French martini which was slightly dryer than expected. Food was great! I had two hearty fish tacos with guacamole and pico de gallo. My hubbie had the French dip which is served with melting Swiss cheese and a bit of horseradish accompanied by excellent thin cut fries with the perfect amount of crunch. The atmosphere is cheerful and friendly. We'll be back!

Everything we had was delicious, obviously fresh and good sized portions. Cool atmosphere, very positive energy. Open kitchen and happy staff which says a lot for the restaurant and management!

Came here after bowling just down the street but the food at the alley wasn't quite what some of the folks in my group wanted so to Blackbird we went. Quickly seated I immediately noticed how the Utensils, napkins and more is situated in the middle of the restaurant. I think that's kind of neat so if we're missing something, this is one less thing to have to call a server over for. We had light bites and beers here - Started with Pulled Pork Sliders which features 'honey molasses BBQ sauce' on Macrina buns. These were good. Mushroom quesadillas which I was tricked into eating since I like mushrooms, and these were not bad. Vegetarian friendly. Lastly the Vietnamese beef skewers which again, good and with a nice presentation. Blackbird doesn't sound like much of a name and is huddled in a parking lot with some other businesses, but this was seriously a nice cap to our hang out with good food, drinks and friendly staff. Definitely will combine it with a future similar outing.

Loved this cute cafe! My friends and I came here just in time to catch the end of happy hour which was from 3-6 on Saturday. They have some great options to choose from and literally everything sounds so good. We ended up getting an order of pulled pork sliders, beef skewers, burrata, and quesadillas. It was all delicious. I especially liked the beef skewer and the peanut slaw that it came with! You can also order beer or cocktails at the counter plus they even have a small bar you can sit at if you just want to have some drinks! The staff was very friendly here and I can tell it is popular among families as well as couples. It is a great spot if you're in the area and looking for some small bites or if you want a full meal they have a lot of great options. It is also a coffee shop during the day with espresso and pastries!

I really liked Hills Food and Wine, which is Blackbird's full service predecessor. Much of the menu is still the same but they've adapted to a cafe model where you order and pay up front, seat yourself, give yourself water, and grab your own cutlery from a stack. The staff does drop your food off at the table. While ordering, they asked if we'd like the salad and Vietnamese skewers first - yes please! Blackbird Burger and Fish/Chips to follow. Food takes about ten minutes to come to our table. The salad and skewers were on the table for less than ten seconds before they brought our mains. We hadn't even had a bite of appetizers before the table was full! That was disappointing because now our mains will be cold or we ignore the apps. We chose to eat apps first. Caesar salad was forgettable and could have been from a kit. The Vietnamese skewers were the highlight of our meal: tender, juicy and flavorful. When it came time for my burger, after three bites with no meat, I opened it up to see that the patty was an oval about half the size of the bun. It was actually quite sad. It tasted alright when everything was together, but definitely not worth the $18. The wife said her fish and chips were ok, but wished she'd tried something else. No one asked how the food was. Maybe they already knew? Sad to say that, after many visits in the past, we both agreed that this would be our last time.

Amazing food and great atmosphere! Highly recommend!! Ordering system is ideal for me as it eliminated stress on servers.

Good restaurant, lousy phone takeout service! This is a local restaurant for us, and when we eat there it's a pretty good experience; however, we often enjoy picking up the order and eating it at home and this is when Blackbird gets LOW marks from us (I'll explain). On more than 4 or 5 occasions, we have attempted to call in an order and either their phone rings and rings and rings, or there is no signal at all. ARE THEY OPEN? WHO KNOWS?!! They really need to hire a phone consultant and get a system in place that isn't so detrimental to their business. Two stars because I've had enough of this b.s.

Blackbird is a lovely looking restaurant in Richmond Beach. We recently ordered takeout but noted that the ambiance looked great for both indoor and outdoor seating for our next visit. We ordered the mushroom chicken and the salmon. Both came with mashed potatoes and veggies on the side. The chicken is a breast and partial wing, and it was cooked phenomenally--juicy, tender, flavorful. The salmon was unfortunately overcooked. And the potatoes were a bit chunky but otherwise very tasty. We also had a cup of seafood bisque to try, and it was delicious. It's quite rich with a subtly sweet sherry flavor to the soup. Our cup didn't have many seafood pieces, but the ones we tried were cooked just right. And we nabbed a slice of German chocolate cake for dessert. The chocolate flavor is not very pronounced pronounced, but it's otherwise a delightfully moist cake with a crunchy, textured filling of coconut and walnuts (I think). The staff was friendly both on the phone and in-person, and their prices are super reasonable. We will definitely be back to try some other appealing things on their menu!

What an amazing cafe. We wandered to Richmond Beach Saltwater park today because of the super low tides, and searched for a spot for takeout as we were heading home. A quick search brought us to Blackbird for their fish tacos. Without a doubt these were the best fish tacos I've ever had (the order includes 2 soft tacos). The beer battered fish was a good size portion and was crispy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The taco is served with lime slices, fresh cilantro, shredded cabbage, chipotle mayo, pico de gallo and guacamole. Beyond delicious, we'll definitely be back!! Note: The chipotle mayo is typically served on the taco and the other items are on the side, however I asked for the Chipotle mayo to be on the side as well.

Discovered this place 6 months ago, late to the party. We keep coming back. My Wife refuses to order anything except the mushroom quesadillas.

Yummy food: cinnamon rolls delish! Blackberry crisp delish! French dip delish! Raspberry lemonade delish! Rueben sandwich delish! Things to be aware of: 1) It is SUPER LOUD in here. It can be really agitating to the nervous system. And really hard to hear your lunch mate talking. I wish they would add some sound proofing to their ceiling. It would make the ambience so much more peaceful. 2) It's very crowded. Yikes! 3) You order at the counter and they bring you your food. 4) Not much parking. And DO NOT PARK next door - you will be towed.

I'm a local and have tried hard to love this place through all its iterations. However, I won't be returning. Food: the fish (fish and chips) is always greasy. I was appalled last week that the butternut squash ravioli was inedible. Desserts look good but are so sweet my teeth hurt. Ambiance: I'm going to call it ok. It is small and often crowded. Service: ok, this is where my head does a Linda Blair spin. I've always been annoyed that you do all the service (water, utensils) yet they trap you at the iPad kiosk looking for 20% tip. But here is the reason for this review. The owner (I assume) was doing three things and the new guy (I assume) was taking my order. It was slightly before dinner. But they threw a bunch of menus at me, and were babbling things that I couldn't find on the menu. At some point I asked them to tell me what they were serving right then so I could get my order in. The owner replied "was that sentence too long for you honey?" I admit my confusion, but she was rude and, frankly, doesn't know my mental capacity. Bye bye Blackbird.

We were looking for a restaurant that serves happy hour menu near us. BlackBird seems to have pretty good review and serves happy hour from 3-6pm. We showed up in the restaurant at 5:20pm and ready to order but was told happy hour ends at 5pm. I mentioned the Yelp shows happy hour menu from 3 to 6pm. The male staff was rude and made condescending remarks with smirk reply: "We have nothing to do with Yelp". I guess the rude attitude of the employee and small portion/high price result the many empty tables. We won't be returning!

We ate here on a road trip after we went to Richmond Beach. I don't write a lot of reviews but this place is really, really good. I had the best steak salad I have ever tasted. The service was good and so was the atmosphere. Highly recommend!

This cafe was a delightful surprise! A bit off the beaten track, this is a neighborhood gem. Judging by the brisk business, a lot of people must agree! The service was friendly and professional, and the menu items my friend and I ordered were delicious. I had the fish tacos (grilled, not fried), which had perfectly cooked fish and all the accoutrements you would expect. My friend had a half salad/half sandwich with a caesar and a reuben. She said the reuben was very good. We were so excited about this cafe that we've decided to meet there again!

Lovely relaxed atmosphere where you order food at the counter. Very friendly staff and good service- though a lot of it is self service e.g. pour your own drip at the bar, get your own water/cutlery etc. Good menu offerings and good food. To me not amazing for the price and size e.g watered down drip coffee but overall good experience and I'd return!

Great cafe if you're near Richmond Beach or Shoreline area. Blackbird has a nice cozy vibe when you walk in. You order at the counter and they have a self serve water/utensils station. They also offer coffee and pastries. We went for lunch and ordered the Blackbird Burger and Oven Roasted Chicken Salad. The salad had a basil vinaigrette dressing with blue cheese, raisins, almonds, and tomatoes - very tasty! The burger came with a red onion jam and came with shoestring fries. Overall a great place to catch up with friends over coffee/food. Parking is easy.

We stopped here after our first choice was closed already. Parking was almost filled up and we had a little trouble finding a spot to park our larger vehicle. Walked in and a very friendly employee said, "first time"? We said yep! I guess we looked confused LOL. She let us know the system, grab a table and water glass/utensils yourself. Over look the menu, you order at the front desk and they will bring it out to you. Food was very flavorful. I was feeling soup/vegetarian meal on the rainy day and they only had a seafood chowder so I settled for a Caesar salad. The "awesome sauce" ascendent beer was the best part IMO! My hubby and son had blue cheese type burgers and they liked them a lot. Since Sunni's burnt down we need a new local burger place. Maybe this is the one.

How I heard of this place: Our friends, who adopted us into their warm hearts when we had our first child, suggested a spot for a family dinner. This was one of the two places they recommended and boy, are we grateful that we have found a new spot to enjoy meals. Type of cuisine: American comfort food, done thoughtfully. Ambiance: Tucked away, slightly removed from a main thoroughfare in Shoreline, one can easily miss this single story establishment beside a couple of other places to eat. Outside, a large, umbrella-covered patio offers a perfect spot to enjoy a late summer or autumn meal in the sunshine. Indoors, the warmth of the wood and darker colors feel like a friendly hug. A limited number of tables and chairs are available for those wishing to dine indoors, but quickly fill up as no reservations are accepted. A small half-wall separates the bar, which consumes half of the square footage. What I ordered: Our friends started early, arriving in time to get a table before the masses descended, and enjoyed, first, the Mixed Grill Skewers ($9; $12 outside of happy hour) - Chicken, Prawns, Andouille, honey-garlic Dijon glaze, garlic toast. For our main meals, we had one order the Vietnamese Beef Skewer ($9; $12 outside of happy hour) - Flat iron steak, lemongrass marinade, roasted peanut slaw, and a Caesar Salad ($6; $9 outside of happy hour) - Hearts of romaine, traditional dressing, parmesan cheese, croutons, another ordered the RB Sliders ($8 off of the happy hour menu) - Dijon mayo, cheddar cheese, pickle, mini Macrina brioche buns, a third enjoyed the Grilled Steak Salad ($20) - Marinated flat iron steak, mixed greens, apple, tomatoes, basil vinaigrette dressing, blue cheese, croutons. For the littlest in our group, a soup fan, she enjoyed a small cup of the Seafood Chowder ($6; $8/$11 outside of happy hour) - Crab, shrimp, cod, salmon, port, cream. The next oldest ordered a Grilled Cheese Sandwich from the Kid's Menu ($9.50) served with haystack fries. For our oldest child, the R.B. Burger ($16) with Bacon ($3 additional) - 1/3-pound ground sirloin, Macrina brioche bun, Tillamook cheddar, barbeque sauce, Dijon mayo, haystack fries. For my husband, the 12oz. Grilled Ribeye, cooked to order ($38) with scotch herb butter, seasonal vegetable, Yukon gold mashed potatoes. And for me, the Roasted Beet Salad ($14) - Arugala, goat cheese, pistachios, red wine honey vinaigrette - to start, followed by the Grilled Coho Salmon ($26) served in a puddle of beurre blanc, with seasonal vegetables, and Yukon mashed potatoes. What I loved: The seafood chowder was light with hearty chunks of seafood, the salmon was perfectly crispy on the exterior, soft and flaky inside. The roasted beet salad was delightful, fresh and vibrant (more chevre would have made it even better)! The one haystack fry I was offered was perfect! Such a light crispy crunch followed by soft, doughy potato. I would have loved to try other meals, but our seating and conversation didn't allow for it on this visit. Why I loved it: The staff was very friendly, helpful and cheerful - they genuinely seemed happy to be at work, and at work at Blackbird. The space is light-filled and joyful and the food, wonderful. Cost: Average to high

Mediocre breakfast. Not bad not great. I wish I would've known there was no table service, I wouldn't have given a tip when I ordered and paid. It was all do it yourself breakfast other than the cashier dropping off the food. It was kind of difficult to carry 2 coffees on saucers outside to my table since there was a very heavy door on the way.

Favorite new brunch spot! Had the Eggs Benedict & a Bloody Mary. Definitely try the crème brûlée donuts

First and foremost, service is amazing here! Staff is incredible and food is was phenomenal! But mostly, I wanted to extend my gratitude today to all of your staff from my crew to yours for your patience. We extended our stay today (we felt that comfortable) to gather and vent about our recent situations. It was healing, both food and community-wise, and helped us to say goodbye after about 20ish years of working together! And thanks for your "staff photographer"! So kind of you all to take the time.

Egg benedict was really good. My kid really liked the breakfast plate and said the toast was really good. The blackbird burger was great. Patty was juicy, the buns tasted like croissant. The oat milk latte was excellent. Service was great. Interior was awesome. Will definitely come back.

Blackbird is a newish, hidden gem located in Shoreline's Richmond Beach neighborhood. It has been rebranded from the former Hill's. This destination is not to be confused with Blackbird in Seattle or Blackbird in Winslow/Bainbridge Island. This is definitely a welcomed sight for this Yelper and 18 year plus Shoreline resident. Snoreline, I mean Shoreline, where quality dining choices are often pretty limited. I decided to celebrate the end of the WA State pandemic restrictions by checking out their Happy Hour, which runs from 1500-1800 daily. You can sit anywhere and not be restricted to just their bar counter for Happy Hour. Glanced at their menu and specials board, placed my order at the register, you're handed a number, select where to sit, and help yourself to self serve water and flatware wrapped in a cloth napkin. Pay at the front counter at the end. Pro tip: Don't be a dork on auto pilot like me, where I sat down at a two top waiting for someone to take my order. Duh, facepalm, read the signage. Wear glasses and still clueless, lol. There are a variety of seating available: at the bar, main dining area, or outdoor patio. I opted for a two top proximate to the outdoor patio and enjoyed the pleasant breeze. Vaccinated and hopeful for culinary preC19 experiences Happy Hour choices I selected: * Dark and Stormy cocktail, $13 regular, $11 HH. Refreshing. * Cup of Seafood Chowder ($6 HH) Velvety bisque like texture, not much seafood though, and potatoes were a bit firm and underdone. Serviceable, but a pass for me. It doesn't hold a candle to the chowder from Kuzma's Fish Market in Edmonds. * Vietnamese Beef Skewers (2 for $7 HH) Flavorful and tender. The Asian inspired slaw beneath had an decent dressing, few noodle strands, peanuts, but it was just too much volume wise. I would have preferred one large, crisp Romaine leaf for color and crunch. * Richmond Beach Sliders (2 for $7 HH). Saved the best for last. Last time, I had HH sliders was at Epulo's near the Edmonds ferry terminal, which were meh. Blackbird's version, however, were hella awesome, juicy, delicious, spot on amazing! The whole composition was simply remarkable! Brought one home to The Homie and he agreed with my waxing poetic. Blackbird also has friendly host and counter staff. Clearly a badass kitchen line that respects proteins with their on point execution. Free parking in their private lot. Close to Richmond Beach Saltwater Park.. I will definitely return to check out their coffee, baked goods, and weekend breakfast/brunch items, like Joe's Special. Finally a place off the beaten path, well worth seeking out in Shoreline! Especially those sliders! Still thinking about them nearly two hours later.

We came during a busy brunch hour on a Saturday and worried how long it would take to get our food. However, our food came out to us within 10-15 minutes. We ordered the Bloody Mary, croissant sandwich and classic eggs Benedict. Everything was super tasty. Would definitely come back!

Find a seat, grab utensils and pour your own water. Interesting concept for a limited dining room but not worth the effort. Dining on the patio is probably the better choice. The food was disappointing, paired with excessive noise from the bar. Which is worse, greasy shoestring fries with what looked like leftover fish or hearing the people at the next table instead of your friends? It's a twofer that's best forgotten.

Great little restaurant with lots of good food, the parking sucks, the service is fast. Breakfast foods are great.

I really enjoyed this spot! As others have said it is rather tucked away so I drove by it and was very confused and my phone service was spotty as well. It is tucked back where it is supposed to be so don't worry you will find it and they have a nice set of dedicated parking. I had the beet salad which was delicious and quite hearty. I look forward to trying more at this place in the future and even coming for coffee and a pastry sometime. They do have outdoor seating right now which was nice on. Clear day but I wonder if it will go away as the temperatures drop. Make sure you check out the beach park if you are in the area and also apparently the pizza place in that same block is really good but I havent tried it yet!

Saturday Brunch review: good value, way more hits than misses. Mildly confusing seating and serving routine, but we worked it out. For better service, sit at the bar. Simple menu of usual suspects. My huevos rancheros featured fried crisp tortillas, which I enjoyed, but no beans, which were missed; the only protein on the plate was the overcooked fried egg (why?). Nonetheless, the roja sauce was bright and spicy and tangy, and the potatoes were accompanied with a lovely sweet pepper and onion sauté. Very tasty! My gal's croque sandwich was tasty too, and the eggs were cooked properly. There was no side accompanying the sandwich. Service is stretched thin, like it is everywhere it seems, but friendly and efficient. The portions are small, but not the flavors. The prices are very reasonable, and with coffee and a cocktail apiece we were $62.39 after a 19% tip. Excellent! Bitchin' boozy brunch on budget: accomplished. Booya. Recommended.

This really falls under "Neighborhoud Gem" type of place. You appreciate it when you go there regularly, at any point of the day or week, and have whatever is on the menu at that time. The team working there is generally pretty welcoming and cool, remembering their regular customers' favorite foods and drinks, that kind of thing. The tables are not cramped. I try to eat outside on the terrace at all times, it's a nice and sheltered corner. But the inside is nice and spacious as well. And please do keep the clockwork Violet on your menu. ~You know who ;-)

WOW! You pay ahead, give them a 20% tip and after that you are screwed! (how tacky!!!) It was my husband's birthday, we went with his brother. His brother got the steak salad that smelled so good! After several minutes of waiting for our burger and fish & chips, I told his brother to go ahead and eat. We waited several more minutes, I finally went inside and saw I saw a burger and fish & chips waiting to go. I asked when will we get served and "Cashier C" said exactly, "you'll get it when it is ready" So I went back outside and waited another long 5 minutes more. Our food was cold. For $20, I expected more than 6 bites of tasteless cold fish, at least the burger was okay but who likes cold fries????. It would have been nice to be able to all eat at the same time! What was the 20% tip for? You have to get your utensils, water and then bus your own table! This was at the top of my list for worst dining experiences ever!

So delicious! Stumbled upon this place when visiting Richmond Beach. The fish tacos were awesome, good beer selection, and friendly staff. What's not to love!

I don't want to discourage anyone from going to this place because the food is decent. And the outdoor space in the summer is a great place to go. It's just that you need to align your expectations with what you are going to get. As others have mentioned, there is no table service here. They tell you to "go pick up a menu over there", then you seat yourself, then you have to go back up to order your drinks, then you have to go back up to the counter to order your dinner, etc. etc. You pick up your own utensils, your water, and anything you need to replenish. I wouldn't have minded that as much but when you go up to the counter (again) to pay, they swing the pad around and ask for anywhere from an 18% to 25% tip. For what? Our other complaint was the place was FREEZING. We kept our coats on the whole time and got out as fast as we could once we were done with our dinner. Looks like everybody else was eating with coats on as well. (The concrete floors don't help. ) And lastly the bar was super loud when we were there; I believe the loudest people were the ones who were working at the bar.

Found ourselves in Richmond Beach area & had this cafe bookmarked to try. I had been following on FB & the food looked so good.....today we were not disappointed! Quaint & comfortable decor, clean & sleek yet in an inviting way. I wanted to hangout there & linger. At 2:15 on a sunny Tuesday, it was busy with what appeared to be locals. What a treat to have Blackbird in their neighborhood. Hubby had the delicious Reuben with ample portion of salty crispy fries (2 other tables of regulars got the Rueben too so it's a crowd pleaser). My fish tacos were delish. We resisted the dessert but I could come back just for that. The woman at the next table had the berry Cobbler w/ ice cream & she said it was yummy 'homemade'. The interior is fairly small, very bright, a nice bar that is open/adjacent to the dining area, & outdoor seating too.
