The Rosedale and Atticus Have Closed in Platt Park | Eater Denver

"Located on South Downing Street in West Wash Park and housed in the former Handlebar Tavern space, this third restaurant from the group blends elements of its siblings into a neighborhood gathering spot featuring pizza, oysters, and shuffleboard. It effectively combines pub and bistro offerings and has been presented as the destination for customers being redirected from the recently closed nearby spots, continuing the site’s tradition of casual, community-focused dining and entertainment." - Josie Sexton

Such a fun find! We came for brunch and it was all delicious! There is a bottomless mimosa we cannot wait to come back for! The Blackbird sandwich and Morning After were both great!

Really enjoyed this place from the atmosphere to the food it was all quite good. The service could have been better. Our server didnt check in that much at all, and she never once refilled our waters. The cheese board was fresh with lots of variety, and the Brussels and Mussels were delicious. The portions were very generous as well. Definitely a good find for lunch didn't even have to wait to be seated. They also have their own little parking lot which was really nice and convenient.

I loved the place! Another visit with bRUNch running group, and another great one! While we stayed on the patio, the interior was very climatic, I would be very happy to come back just to experience it fully. The staff was friendly and helpful. We have tried the pork belly toast and fig&pig gluten free pizza. The toast was way less greasy than expected, of course super rich, but amazingingly tasty. The gf pizza has the type of crust I see all over Colorado (I'd like to learn who provides it! Edit: it's Sweet Escape Pastries), and it's the good one, with characteristic smooth finish and kinda gooey inside. If you had it before, you know what I'm talking about. It's definitely the way to go if a restaurant doesn't prepare it themselves, always happy to see it. Overall, a good visit!

As two people who have worked in the service industry most of our lives, my partner and I don't leave bad reviews unwarranted, but this is one of the worst dining experiences we've had in Denver (both born and raised here). We're big fans of Angelo's but wanted to try somewhere with a wider range of foods that still had oysters, and Blackbird had all day happy hour on Monday, so lunch there seemed perfect! It...was not. -server was very nice, but got me what I assume was a boozy lemonade? When I ordered a hard tea that they had on tap -she was going to replace my partners captain and coke with Jack Daniel's since she couldn't find captain. One is a rum, one is whiskey. -none of our order was written down, which isn't terribly odd, but I ordered a dozen oysters and got muscles and fries instead. I let the server know, no biggie. She took the muscles back and then it took 20mins to get the oysters out after we'd waited 30mins for our starters and another 20 for the wrong order. Great quality oysters, but every one was FULL of bits of shell to the point where it was hard to eat them at all safely. -despite all these issues, (even with the manager appearing to have been there) nothing on our bill was comped. Which we never ever expect or ask for, but considering the number of mistakes, even just the drink being taken off would've made sense. We ended up paying over $100, not including the 20% tip that we still gave regardless of our experience because we understand it's a tough industry. On top of all this, my partner and I now have food poisoning a couple hours after eating here, without having eaten anywhere since lunch. Y'all... don't go here. It's not worth it.

I'm a fan of the daily happy hour. The personal cheese pizza is a good deal and super tasty. Also have some decent prices on a few cocktails. We ordered a spring salad off the normal menu and was a bit disappointed with that. Overall the ingredients were not super fresh. Update 10/13: Stopped by for a Saturday brunch and had a great experience. The eggs benedict (and the potatoes that came with it) were delicious. Everyone else at the table also enjoyed their food. The breakfast old fashioned missed the mark for my taste buds - the red-hot cinnamon flavor was too overbearing. But, the bottomless mimosas for $15 were a killer deal.

Unfortunately not the best experience, especially for $30-40 a person. The servers were nice people, but when it came to the food - especially the burgers - there were problems. 3 burgers of the burgers were wayyy undercooked - one was literally “cold” pink, like raw - when it was supposed to be almost well done. We couldn’t finish any of the burgers. Other food we ordered was “adequate”, but nothing better you’d get from BWW or Chilis tbh. We were also charged $9 for refills on our soft drinks, after being told it was free per refill 😕unfortunately not the best experience, at least for dining

This place hasn’t had good food for years. I come in every 2 years and today I tried again. Mutant chicken. The wings are a train wreck. Beyond being chewy and feeling microwaved, you might get wings that look normal plus some mutants. Not a spot you want to come get wings. And 2 years ago the other dishes I tried had similar results. And I live literally 300’ away from this place. Ok beers and wine.

Great service... the host spent time speaking with us about the concept and food. The food was good... I had the Alfredo while my spouse had the pulled pork sandy. We will definitely be back for the pizza!
