The Rosedale and Atticus Have Closed in Platt Park | Eater Denver

"Located on South Downing Street in West Wash Park and housed in the former Handlebar Tavern space, this third restaurant from the group blends elements of its siblings into a neighborhood gathering spot featuring pizza, oysters, and shuffleboard. It effectively combines pub and bistro offerings and has been presented as the destination for customers being redirected from the recently closed nearby spots, continuing the site’s tradition of casual, community-focused dining and entertainment." - Josie Sexton

Really enjoyed this place from the atmosphere to the food it was all quite good. The service could have been better. Our server didnt check in that much at all, and she never once refilled our waters. The cheese board was fresh with lots of variety, and the Brussels and Mussels were delicious. The portions were very generous as well. Definitely a good find for lunch didn't even have to wait to be seated. They also have their own little parking lot which was really nice and convenient.

I loved the place! Another visit with bRUNch running group, and another great one! While we stayed on the patio, the interior was very climatic, I would be very happy to come back just to experience it fully. The staff was friendly and helpful. We have tried the pork belly toast and fig&pig gluten free pizza. The toast was way less greasy than expected, of course super rich, but amazingingly tasty. The gf pizza has the type of crust I see all over Colorado (I'd like to learn who provides it! Edit: it's Sweet Escape Pastries), and it's the good one, with characteristic smooth finish and kinda gooey inside. If you had it before, you know what I'm talking about. It's definitely the way to go if a restaurant doesn't prepare it themselves, always happy to see it. Overall, a good visit!

Google
Such a fun find! We came for brunch and it was all delicious! There is a bottomless mimosa we cannot wait to come back for! The Blackbird sandwich and Morning After were both great!

I was served dead muscles. When ordering I asked for a "fizzy bird" the server mentioned they were out of the flavor I wanted. I had no problem getting a different flavor but when trying to do so she suggested a blueberry lemonade drink. I politely corrected her and again confirmed the flavor I wanted after multiple mix ups. 30 minutes later in a dead bar I received the drink she suggested that i corrected her about when ordering, five minutes late my food. It took a while to even get a water and all tho I did not touch the wrong drink I was served and just asked for a sprite instead, I was still charged for it. Majority of the muscles were dead on my plate. I've never had such a bad experience somewhere before.

This place hasn’t had good food for years. I come in every 2 years and today I tried again. Mutant chicken. The wings are a train wreck. Beyond being chewy and feeling microwaved, you might get wings that look normal plus some mutants. Not a spot you want to come get wings. And 2 years ago the other dishes I tried had similar results. And I live literally 300’ away from this place. Ok beers and wine.

I'm a fan of the daily happy hour. The personal cheese pizza is a good deal and super tasty. Also have some decent prices on a few cocktails. We ordered a spring salad off the normal menu and was a bit disappointed with that. Overall the ingredients were not super fresh. Update 10/13: Stopped by for a Saturday brunch and had a great experience. The eggs benedict (and the potatoes that came with it) were delicious. Everyone else at the table also enjoyed their food. The breakfast old fashioned missed the mark for my taste buds - the red-hot cinnamon flavor was too overbearing. But, the bottomless mimosas for $15 were a killer deal.

As two people who have worked in the service industry most of our lives, my partner and I don't leave bad reviews unwarranted, but this is one of the worst dining experiences we've had in Denver (both born and raised here). We're big fans of Angelo's but wanted to try somewhere with a wider range of foods that still had oysters, and Blackbird had all day happy hour on Monday, so lunch there seemed perfect! It...was not. -server was very nice, but got me what I assume was a boozy lemonade? When I ordered a hard tea that they had on tap -she was going to replace my partners captain and coke with Jack Daniel's since she couldn't find captain. One is a rum, one is whiskey. -none of our order was written down, which isn't terribly odd, but I ordered a dozen oysters and got muscles and fries instead. I let the server know, no biggie. She took the muscles back and then it took 20mins to get the oysters out after we'd waited 30mins for our starters and another 20 for the wrong order. Great quality oysters, but every one was FULL of bits of shell to the point where it was hard to eat them at all safely. -despite all these issues, (even with the manager appearing to have been there) nothing on our bill was comped. Which we never ever expect or ask for, but considering the number of mistakes, even just the drink being taken off would've made sense. We ended up paying over $100, not including the 20% tip that we still gave regardless of our experience because we understand it's a tough industry. On top of all this, my partner and I now have food poisoning a couple hours after eating here, without having eaten anywhere since lunch. Y'all... don't go here. It's not worth it.

Google
Great spot for happy hour all day on Monday. 1.50 East coast oysters on the menu. When I visited only the bartender was waiting tables and she had it all under control. Very good service and great food. I also got a free appetizer for joining the rewards program. Which if you have read my reviews most have rewards mentioned.

Yelp
I came here with a friend for a cocktail and if I recall the ambiance was nice, the service was good, friendly staff and the bar was not too busy so it wasn't super loud and we were able to catch up and enjoy a decent conversation. The cocktails were great! We did not have a chance to try the menu, but overall had a decent experience here and would come back again due to the location being super convenient to the Washington Park area!

Yelp
The ambience and beer is fine. Do not go here if you want to eat anything. Had a horrible experience here on Friday night. Only about 15 people in there when we arrived at 7 on a Friday night. Should have been the first clue Ordered 2 beers. That went well. This is a good place is you want to get beer but eat before you go Ordered mussels and fish and chips. About 10 minutes after we ordered, server told us fish and chips were all gone. Switched to a sandwich About 30 minutes later still no food, and now only 10 people in whole place. Food took another 15 minutes. Sandwich was fine but mussels were awful. Broth had zero taste, they were minuscule with no flavour and fries were soggy. Find somewhere else to eat your meal: it literally took so long I joked they were door dashing it to me from another restaurant

Yelp
This seems like a decent place to go for happy hour, but the menu is miniscule and choicea where limited. They have one burger and it's a breakfast burger served with home fries. Not really a lot of home fries either, not nearly as much as you would get with regular fries. They asked how I wanted it cooked even though they cook them all the same. I ordered rare. Mine was closer to medium well than it was to medium rare. That's always disappointing especially because it didn't come out very fast and would have been faster if it had been cooked rare. I wouldn't order a burger here next time. I'd give them a chance for happy hour since there's literally nothing else nearby, but only if I was in the area. I wouldn't come here if you're just hungry.

Yelp
This place has been such an unfortunate Covid casualty. The menu has shrunk, the food went from being amazing to now awful, the service is under staffed and inattentive, and the parking lot is still atrocious. Used to love this place but unfortunately think it's way past its prime.

Yelp
Blackbird has gone through many evolutions over the last year. When I started coming for a monthly meeting it was a really good experience. We were always in the private room and we had the same server monthly. They took really great care of us. Things started changing once the restaurant hired a new chef. The menu kept getting smaller and smaller with many of our group's favorites being cut from the menu including the steak salad and steak frites. There are some really good things on the existing menu, but I always feel like I'm longing for some of the previous items. Another recurrent issue has been the restaurant being out of items despite knowing they're going to have larger parties that fairly consistently order the same things every month. For example, last month when our group met, the restaurant was out of ketchup, brussels sprouts, and soup. It also was not realized until after many of us had already placed orders, so we had to have the server come back around and revise our orders. Another example of troubling service was back in October when I waited over an hour for a pizza when the rest of our table had already gotten food. We also never got a part of our order which apparently the server never entered, so at least we were not charged for it, but we waited for so long wondering when it was coming. It's so hard to write such a critical review because I absolutely love some of the food items at Blackbird, but it's a lot of the other aspects of the dining experience that make the experience so frustrating. If you find yourself at Blackbird, I recommend ordering the BBJ burger with brussels sprouts. I also think the pizza crust is so delicious. The fig and pig pizza is by far one of my favorite pizzas. Unfortunately, I don't think I will find myself dining her as frequently though.

Yelp
Sigh, I wish I could rate this neighborhood spot better because it is such a great location and the food is decent. However, I have been here two times for brunch (once in 2022 and just this month) and both experiences were very disappointing from start to finish. In this most recent experience, we were a group of about six and it was 15 minutes before we were seated, another 15 before drink and food orders were taken, and then we waited. And waited. We were offered mimosas and shots while we waited, but honestly, we were just hungry and wanted food. Maybe some bread or something while we waited? We finally received our food almost 2 hours after we arrived. Some orders were incorrect and much of the food was cold. For the food that was warm, it was actually quite good (one additional star for the food!). The owners apologized several times and said it was never like that, but my previous visit two ears prior was almost identical. Also didn't love being called "kids" as a group of women. So, not sure what is going on staffing wise, but clearly something needs to be resolved front of house because brunch should not last three hours (unless you want it to!).

Yelp
Blackbird Public House has taken an absolute nose dive in the past few months. What started as a great neighborhood spot has fallen into the trap of significantly raising prices while the quality and portion of food significantly declines. It started with the loss of their signature steak salad, which was exceptional. The server (who was new) explained that the chef (who was new) was looking to reduce costs and the steak salad was too expensive to produce. I could add steak to an existing salad for $8, though (at last visit it was now an absolutely ridiculous $12 to add). I've experimented with adding different proteins to salads at exorbitant costs and just can't make any combination worth the price. The salads themselves are in the $15+ range and probably cost $3 to make. They will serve salads with 1/3 of the ingredients advertised and still charge full price. I wasn't informed there would be adjustments, it just came out with almost nothing on it. Please see the photo of the salmon salad, which was mixed greens, 1/3 of an apple, a two strawberries, and a sprinkling of cheese plus $7 for salmon, making this a mid $20 salad. The cost value just isn't there. If I hadn't added salmon, it would have been nowhere near a full meal and I honestly can't believe they had the gall to serve it. Adding protein, especially at an upcharge, should not change the quality of the salad itself. Next time I visited I tried their salmon because I couldn't stomach paying over $20 for eight bites of lettuce again, and on the salmon salad I found the salmon was cooked well. I also landed on the salmon after switching from my original order of a burger once they informed me they were out of ketchup (?!?!), brussel sprouts, and soup ("we haven't had soup for weeks..."). So salmon it was, except they actually originally told me they were out of salmon but once she went to the kitchen to check they ended up still having some. I can't remember how much this was but somewhere near $20. It was swimming in butter, had two cherry tomatoes haphazardly thrown in, was incredibly dry and overcooked (ordered medium rare), and the zoodles were soggy after sitting in their butter bath. Another disappointment. Lastly, every single time I come here (monthly) there are different servers with the exception of one bartender. Everyone is always new and doesn't know what's going on, and the staff turnover indicates a bigger issue. Even with the service industry the way it is, it's abnormal. We came for a monthly meeting on a Tuesday, and despite bringing in 15-20 people worth of business on what is historically a restaurant's slowest night, they always acted inconvenienced that we were there (minus the long-term bartender, who was an absolute delight). I am so glad that we have moved our meeting elsewhere, as none of us could really support spending more and more money each month when they raised their prices for declining food and service. I can't imagine they will last much longer under the current philosophy.

Yelp
Fantastic salmon benedict along with wonderfully seasoned potatoes adorned my side of the table last Saturday as the snow was coming down. While it was cold and snowy outside, why on earth would you seat us immediately without wind shot of the entrance each time the door opened?! The entire restaurant was empty. The emo hostess decided it would be a good idea to even wait after 10am to open the doors. No eye contact, no conversation, no service. Just seated us and walked back to the other side of the bar and played on your phone. Service was slightly better but why did you let our breakfast sit in the pickup window for almost 10 minutes while you kept walking past it even after making eye contact with us? Many missed opportunities that morning really. If you're going north on Downing it is pretty easy to miss the turn in. From the experience we had I'm probably doing you a favor with my experience too. Hey, at least enjoy the single pic I took and find another restaurant that serves a similar dish.

Yelp
Fairly large lunch menu, but the preparation was a little off. Our table started off with the brussel sprouts, which were slightly underdone and a little too oily. the main course, the quinoa bowl was good but the dressing wasn't as flavorful as we would have likes. The bar itself was cute and our server was kind and attentive despite being the only one on for lunch.

Yelp
You can make bad food at home and it'll still be better (and far less expensive) than Blackbird. There's no reason the food should be so bad here. The location is great, the space is big, the ambiance is fine. But it's impossibly bad food. If you order chicken, it will be dry. The burger and fries? Worst I've ever had in my life. I wish I was exaggerating. The only safe bet is the pizza and I'd rate it a 5 out of 10. Our food also took way too long to be served given how quiet it was, and when it arrived half of it was cold. Save your money and your time and go somewhere else.

Yelp
Restaurant smelled like sewage. Outside no ambience. Great location but what happened??

Yelp
Love the idea and location of this place (and they have a parking lot!!) but the experience has been lackluster both times I've been. The first time was for pizza and the food was great with decent service but music was too loud. The second time was for brunch after winning a contest on instagram. We got there after they opened, waited at the door and the woman who later was bartending, seemed pissed off people decided to come in that day. Our server wasn't too great either, he was going through the motions and we had to ask for refills, condiments, the check, etc. We saw our food ready in the window and he continued to dive up butter into ramekins while we just sat waiting and watching to see how long it would take. Sadly enough, the food wasn't worth the wait. The avocado Benedict seemed like it was just slopped together, potatoes were unseasoned and it was just about one of the saddest brunches I've ever had (spoiler, I've had a lot of brunches). The manager who helped comp our meal due to the instagram contest was super personable and helpful so that was the one plus of our brunch. As fun as this place seems, that will be the last time I'll be visiting Blackbird.

Yelp
Great service and decent food. We came at an off-time on a weekend (around 3pm or so) and there was very limited staff, but they were doing the best they could. Food was pretty slow to come out but we shared some pizzas which were hot and the toppings were good. Appreciate that there is a parking lot and not just street parking (there is that too)

Kathy A.

Yelp
We were a party of 4. They were not very busy; over half the tables were empty. And yet, we waited over 45 minutes before our food arrived. And when we were finally served, several orders were incorrect. Most of the food was cold! The waitress apologized and said she was the only server working. No one ever came back to ask how our meals were. Meanwhile, two men who worked there (and seated people and brought water) spent 90% of their time sitting at the bar, drinking, laughing, and watching TV.

Yelp
Went here for brunch. I will say the cocktails are nice and fast. I think it's to distract from everything else. It's the slowest service I have ever experienced, even when the restaurant was so empty. We arrived at 10am with a reservation for 8 adults, 3 children. The table was set for 8 - no worries, easy fix. They did seem very confused though. They were quick to offer drinks - our entire party was not there yet (5/8 adults there on time or within 5m). After our party arrived (admittedly 15 & 20m late), it took another 20 minutes for them to come back around to the table. I need to reiterate - it was not busy. There were 2 other tables. There was, upon opening, I think 1 waitress, and the owner, who both were checking in. Around 11, I believe another waitress was added to staff. When the waitress checked in for drinks 20m after our last people arrived, we declared "awesome. We're ready to order food" and placed more drink orders + food. The food took over an hour to come out. The drinks obviously came out rapidly as I believe it's how they manage. At 45m we asked for a time estimate and were told we were the next ticket. At this point, there were 3 other groups in the restaurant. We are all very patient and nice, because over 1/2 of us have worked in the service industry, but y'all - come on. When the food came out, the salmon had multiple bones and scales, the children's fruit cup had seeds in the cherries (we told the owner about this and he took the feedback very genially), and the food was generally not that good. Not awful, just very meh. It also came without any of the dressings, syrup, etc that were on the menu- we had to make an additional ask for that. Overall, for brunch, if you have excessive amounts of time for incredibly meh food, decent cocktails, and god awful service, give it a go.

Ana S.

Yelp
This is the best place to enjoy a casual or elevated meal in Denver! The food is exceptional, staff friendly and attentive and drinks are excellent. Must add it to the list!

Vladymir S.

Yelp
Came in for a beer and something light to eat. Oysters and soup were good. Staff was friendly and attentive. Good service and ambiance will come back again.

Yelp
Service is really slow if you are eating. We live in the neighborhood and walked in here one night. There was one other table in the restaurant occupied and a few people at the bar. We ordered two burgers and it took almost 40 minutes. Just the other night we decided to try ordeing delivery. Waited over an hour for them to prepare two burgers right off the menu. We canceled the order. Not a good experience.
google avatar

Yelp
This. Is a roach egg...in our pizza box. I don't know what else to tell you. This is absolutely disgusting. This used to be one of our favorite places to eat, but looks like we won't ever come here again. This is the third time we've ordered from them where they messed up our order as well. This was supposed to be a New Yorker pizza but as you can see, it's missing basil and other ingredients.

Yelp
Super busy day here! CSU basketball and our poor waitress was RUNNING! She did a great job. Great spot for sports wow! Lots of seating and really great prices on beer. The food was good, upscale from just regular bar food.
google avatar

Bridget T.

Yelp
We came here for a private event this weekend and had a great time. They were able to accommodate us in a private, larger space without charging for it and serve buffet style. Garrett was a pleasure to work with and the server was great too! Will be back next year for another event!
google avatar

Marissa F.

Yelp
So we went last week for the CSU game. My friend did some research and this is one of the only places she found that plays the games/have watch parties.. my friends showed up and the bartender had 0 clue that this was happening. The restaurant was dead minus the back room - where the CSU watch party was- was like half full. Service was basically non existent.. the two owners were floating around saying hi- advertised their green and gold jalepeno poppers- but when we asked them for anything - they sent the 1 server for the area over and it took a good half an hour any time for her to show up. We even flagged her down ourselves multiple times and she would say yeah I'll be right there and then disappear for a while.... We ordered the breakfast pizza and while I love to see a breakfast pizza on a menu, and overall the toppings were good, the bottom was like too flour-y/chalky. We'll probably give it another chance cuz we like to watch the CSU games with our friends. Just hoping service improves

Yelp
So I admit it....I am a happy hour slut...you got great drinks and bites I'm there! Blackbird Public House has an awesome Happy hour with a great menu and great prices. Throw in a parking lot on prem and I'm in love. Great ambiance with plenty of space to dine, drink or catch a game on the screen. Great Service...super quick, got everyone's orders right, and was always back to check on us. Food and cocktails were very good. Loved the HH Marg, their pizzas, and mussels. Def come and check them out

Yelp
Came here for happy hour and enjoyed the dark and stormys, pizza fries and Brussels! Friendly service and fun time.

Yelp
Do NOT come here. They will double charge you and not return repeated phone calls to fix it. Food and drinks are fine. Nothing special.

Dafne G.

Yelp
The moment we walked in it was empty and quiet. The food was definitely not worth the price, we ordered the wings and they had an off taste, did not taste like chicken plus a little undercooked. The pizza flavor was okay but not great i can definitely get better tasting pizza from dominos. All the sauces were watered down and flavorless. The server was nice but the hosted would not let us order drinks when she sat us down. The server forgot things i had asked for.(he only had two tables)
google avatar

Kenny C.

Yelp
Great service, super delicious food, and warm ambiance at the dining room - this place has the best chicken wing on EARTH. We came here for the happy hour - ordered 2 dozen of super fresh oyster, 2 pizza, calamari, and a mountain of Chicken wings. All foods are fantastic and super delicious - Family had a great time here, and we will return to this place.

Yelp
I drive by this place almost everyday on my wat home from work. I was looking forward to trying this place. My son and I came on Friday 8/2/2024 around 6:30 PM. The woman who greeted us at the door was ok. I told her that we would like to order to go. She gave me one menu so I handed it to my son. I went to the table close to the door and picked up the other munu. She disappeared and we did not see her again. A very nice server asked us if we were being helped and I told her that we were ready to order. This is what we ordered: Pork Belly bites, Steak Frites, the Grilled Pork Chop and Carrot ake. I have never been so disappointed! I didn't mind that there wasn't any Chocolate Cake or Cheesecake, the server told us that there was a party lasst night and the pastry chef hadn't baked any more. I spent a total of $86.21 on food that was not good. Here is why the food was not good: 1. How do you burn pork belly? Our bites were half burnt and half ok. There was no flavor. No salt no pepper nothing. I had to use my own sauce to eat it. 2. The Steak Frites was ok. My son didn't think there was much flavor, and wasn't surprised once seeing the pork belly. The side salad that came with it, the dressing was just oil. I ate that but used my own dressing. 3. The grilled pork was raw! The gnocchi was under cooked and mushy! The sauce on the gnocchi was just oil and there was too much and had no flavor. I didn't even eat it. I took pictures because raw pork is a health and safety issue! The grill marks on the pork chop was so faint, I knew before I cut into it, it was going to be raw. 4. The carrot cake slice was so small and dry. I'm guessing leftover from the party the other night and no one wanted to put plactic wrap on it to keep it fresh. I am glad that the chocolate cake and cheese cake were out. Overall we were treated really poorly, and we don't understand why. The server that took our to go order was nice but that's the only good that came from this visit. No way was any of this food worh the $86!

Diane ..

Yelp
Went there this evening. There were a few other tables when we arrived but then patrons started arriving to a back room party, and we soon noticed trays of drinks and food going to the back room. Our server, who was extremely nice, took our drinks orders, which seemed to take a long time. When they arrived, she took our food orders, simple sandwiches. Well, almost an hour later they arrived. She apologized profusely a few times and someone from the back (chef?) came to apologize as well, and they did give us a round of drinks for free. And the food was lukewarm,'which made you wonder how long they had sat there. But the explanation for the delays was silly...the back room party arrived 45 minutes early so their food orders superseded ours? By the time we quickly ate our food and left (7pm, mind you), there was nobody and I mean nobody in the restaurant other than the big party in the back. If you can't handle a party and regular patrons then there's a problem

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were in the mood to go out for a little date night. I was looking up places near us and remembered blackbird public house was not to far. I had been once before for a drink at the bar but hadn't had the food. We're both from New York City so we can be pretty judgmental with restaurants but this place was perfection. Our waitress Audra was so friendly and very attentive. We ordered the wings for an appetizer with jalepeno gold honey garlic sauce and they were epic! As well as a buffalo chicken pizza to split and it was also very good!! We are excited to go back and try other things on the menu! Everything around us that people ordered also looked delicious! I'm also an educator and I hear they do discounts on Fridays for teachers!

Yelp
Four of us went to dinner at Blackbird Public House. Fortunately, we arrived early enough to take advantage of happy hour oysters. They were a delicious starter. The smoked fried chicken was very good, as was the southwest quinoa bowl. They offer a great selection of beers. The service was great.

I absolutely love the wings here they are one of my favorites. But what I also love are the gluten-free options. From pizza that is fluffy to burgers to salads. The food is consistently great. I took a friend here last night and he loved everything he had. The ambiance is fun and welcoming and the service was great. Two girls were running the restaurant and I never felt like we waited long and they were both very attentive. This is one of my favorite neighborhood spots. You have to try their Happy Hour, it is a heck of a deal.

Yelp
Great breakfast here today. We had a breakfast burger and standard breakfast. The eggs were very fresh and cooked perfectly. The candies bacon on the burger was tasty, while the standard breakfast bacon was a bit tough. Also a Virgin Mary has a lot going on, very good. The mimosa was also. The service and atmosphere was the star. Everyone working well together in a well-maintained restaurant. Looking forward to trying the oysters on our next visit.

Yelp
I had such a positive experience here last week. Everything from appetizers to the dessert was absolutely fantastic. To add on to that my bartenders Lena and Reid were nothing but incredible. Would definitely be coming back in the near future.

Yelp
Hands-down the worst restaurant in the area. The menu was supposedly "revamped" by a new chef who recently took over, but it's almost exactly the same as the old stuff they served prior. The food itself is mediocre at best across the board and extremely overpriced for the quality. The icing on the cake is the seriously terrible service. I've gotten to-go orders about 4 or 5 times, and they either forget the ranch, "accidentally" give you five wings instead of the six you paid for, or screw up the order and keep you waiting an extra 15-30 minutes longer than you planned. Maybe a good place to grab a quick beer, but an easy skip otherwise.

Yelp
Made a reservation for Thanksgiving Dinner, Garrett called us the day before to confirm our reservation and to make sure we knew it was a thanksgiving feast and that nothing could be ordered from the menu- we were thrilled that's exactly what we were looking for. Showed up for our reservation only to be told that there was no thanksgiving food left- could only get pizza. WTF! How do you not make enough food when you have reservations ( it was only 5pm) and if you run out why wouldn't you let us know before we headed to your restaurant. When we got there it wasn't busy - maybe 4 tables were seated. Such a disappointment.

Yelp
Why is this place not packed??? The food is fabulous, the wait staff is fantastic, and the atmosphere is lovely. And I didn't even mention the bottomless mimosas! Staffing issues - not lack of patrons - seems to be the issue at this time (10/9/21). How unfortunate. Nathan was our wait staff at first. He was personable and knowledgeable. Madonna brought us our food and cashed us out. She was pleasant and efficient. Our food was made to order, took a little extra time, and was delicious. Husband had the basic breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast. I had this, too, but with 2 eggs over easy (they were over hard), gluten free bread, and fruit (thinly sliced apple slices) instead of hash browns. We both agreed that all was delicious (even if my eggs were prepared incorrectly). Young niece had waffles, bacon, and fruit. She loved it all. Mom niece had salmon poached eggs, gluten free bread and hash browns. Again, both enjoyed their meals. She and I had the mimosas (hers was a bottomless grapefruit and I only had one cranberry mimosa). The total bill was $108 - $17 for the bottomless grapefruit mimosa and $2 extra for each of us getting the gluten free bread. It was also more expensive for á la carte items for young niece. It was worth it. Didn't need lunch since this breakfast filled us up!

Yelp
Went to lunch with my young daughter. Server was pretty...odd throughout, like asking for our order twice after we had already given it to her, and was rude when I politely told her (twice) that we had already ordered, but not a huge deal. My daughter got a cheeseburger when she had ordered a hamburger. We asked the server to fix it, which she did, but then pointed to the parmesan fries that she ordered and said, "just so you know, those have cheese on them." We confirmed that we did, and she said, "okay, since you made a huge deal about cheese on your burger I just wanted to make sure you knew that parmesan was cheese. I don't get why you would want cheese there but not there." This was all really pretty mean and directed at my daughter. I have liked Blackbird for a long time, but we won't be back if they are going to bully children for their own mistakes.

Yelp
Lena was amazing! Fast and friendly! Great timing and she even offered help picking out something on the menu. Her drinks were amazing. She was running the bar and tables at the same time. Way to be! Thank you Blackbird!!

Yelp
We went for dinner Saturday 2/1 and the food was amazing. However, the service could have been better. We sat at the bar for 15 minutes with no one asking if we wanted another drink or to clear our plates. We had to ask the bartender for our tab to close out since no one checked back with us.

Yelp
I took my family there for my birthday. We had an outstanding dinner! Service was excellent, and food was great! My wife had the French dip, which she said was the best she has ever had; and she loves the French dip sandwich! I had the 8 oz steak, and it was actually cooked to a medium rare, not medium trying to be medium rare. All of our meals tasted great, and the GM Garrett Ladd was so nice along with all of the wait staff! Go there if you can!

Yelp
Wowww Blackbird was delicious!! They have so many options to choose from -- everything from soups/salads/sandwiches to seafood to pizza. They also offer a large variety of drink selections and have great happy hour deals! The staff was friendly but seemed very busy. Definitely will be returning!!

Yelp
We were very underwhelmed. We were greeted by a hostess and seated and it took a very long time to get water, menus, etc. We finally ordered some drinks which were okay. Our server was so uninterested that we had to go 'find her' on several occasions to get food, condiments or refills of water. It was sad. The food: we ordered a pizza with only 1/2 to have the prosciutto. Of course the order was delivered incorrectly and there was prosciutto on both halves; so one of us was unable to eat. BTW the pizza was tasty but undercooked according to those who ate. The server shrugged ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Mussels and Fries: this dish was good. However, the sauce (garlic, white wine) was a bit tart and no condiments were served like horseradish or cocktail sauce. Disappointing. No bread was served as it was "an extra charge". Oysters: I was told these were fine. No issues there. Shrimp tacos were also fine although I don't prefer corn tortillas [and my fault for not asking in advance]. I think the coup de grâce was the bill. There were two prices -- one for credit card ($5 extra) and one for cash ($5 less). I asked about a debit card and was told that is a "credit card" which it is not. In many states, having a cash price is illegal. Shame shame shame.

Yelp
The waitress was super friendly! We started coming here for book club and had about 20 ladies. They had us in a private area and the service and food was great. Can't wait to try more of the menu!

Yelp
If you haven't been to Blackbird Public House, HURRY UP! Their happy hour is to die for! I was flabbergasted that this place wasn't packed (great for COVID times when you have to have reservations everywhere) because it was incredible. Their happy hour menu was incredibly delicious and A STEAL price wise We got the calamari ($7), 1/2lb mussels ($5), and $25 for a bottle of wine + pizza or charcuterie board. Incredible deals and all the food is exactly how I would want it. White wine and garlic mussels, crispy calamari with lemon and marinara, and the board had jam and mustard. I cannot rave about this place enough. Everyone should go! Happy hour: 3-6PM everyday + all day happy hour on Mondays

Yelp
Very simple. The red headed bartender was extremely rude. Food was average. The place smelled like a sewer

Yelp
Let me first start off by saying I loved the outdoor and interior design of this restaurant! They've got a fun aesthetic going for them, and the service was great. However, when I went for dinner, my pizza was very subpar, and didn't match the trendy but classy vibe I got from the decor. Drinks were okay, pretty standard for most Denver establishments. I saw that they're more popular for brunch, so I might be back to give them another shot!

Yelp
Blackbird Public House was an experience! Everyone there were so pleasant and amazing to converse with! Marley was out server and she was amazing at making sure everything well presented and that we had everything on our plates with amazing service. She made us want to stay longer and enjoy our time, we didn't feel rushed to leave. We also met with one of the owners Peter and he was very kind and sophisticated. He really topped our experience there to ensure we had the best ex we could have at their restauran. On top of the amazing dinning experience, the food was amazing. For appetizers we got oysters and the calamari. The oysters were amazing. For the calamari it was perfectly cooked not chewy, and the sauce roped it off. The for dinner we tried the wings and the steak. The flavor on the wings was fantastic and cooked perfectly. The steak came with fries, salad and a house dressing. The fries were amazing we had to order an extra order. As for the steaks I would get it a half cooked down then usually what you like, but Marley suggested that and I didn't listen. The server always knows the food better than we do. Then for desert we went with the chocolate chip cookie. It was perfectly cooked, they were huge and fluffy and filled with chocolate. They looked like they were my grandmas cookies! Overall my experience was amazing.
