I walked in because I saw someone reading a book on the canopied bench outside with a coffee and they looked like the kind of afternoon I wanted to have in Melbourne. Friendly staff + great vibes + naturally sunlit cafe with plenty of seating options inside and outside. Didn’t try any of the food but the drink selection was fantastic. They had my favourite Strangelove yuzu drink

I've been there to see Salar Haghighi's photos and find out what a great place to have a nice night. Every details in this bar was exactly in a perfect sense. Trust me you won’t regret it.

I’m new to the country and I came to Black Cat with a friend. On Wednesday I was served by Ilka who was fantastic and so friendly, made us feel very welcome. I enjoyed the place so much I came back the next night where I was served by Daisy who got me involved with her friends and conversations. Abby was wonderful as well, truly made me feel so solid in the decision to move to Melbourne. Cannot recommend enough. I would love to shout out all the staff but sadly didn’t get everyone’s names. Will absolutely be making this my local.

Place is great and vibe is fun, relaxed and welcoming. Worth checking out, whether it's to have a drink and read a book or hang out with mates. Drink selection is quite limited, but the staff are legends.

Amazing & magical place for a warm tea in the arvo or an early drink. Such a beautiful ambiance for working or reading a book. It’s nice to be in a place that doesn’t shut early!

Cool, mellow vibes. Lounges and cute tables. Lovers everywhere, great spot for couples. Cocktails were great. Really enjoyable experience!

Vibey atmosphere, however was ruined by the service. Asked the bartender what beers they have and just pointed at the fridge, as if we could see. Asked if they had Corona, and was given attitude saying in a rude tone that they "don't stock mainstream beers, and they only support local brands". It's okay if they only carry local brands, but she just assumed everyone knows that. Cocktails are also pretty pricey, considering they don't do anything special to them.
