Excellent food! The atmosphere was very nice. We had the chicken fried chicken, BLT Tacos & fish tacos. We highly recommend the fish tacos! We did have an issue with a piece of fabric in a taco but our server took care of the issue and discounted the item. We will definitely eat here again while in the D.C. area!

Google
Great lunch here! Very casual American cuisine. Their salads are always fresh and not saturated in dressing, so all the flavors shine through. The pretzel bites were warm and the cheese sauce had a nice depth! The fries were served hot and crispy.

Google
My chicken salad was really good!! Husband ordered meatloaf and was not impressed. I ate his Brussels sprouts, and they were delicious!!Service would have been 5 stars, but I noticed I was charged for something I didn’t order. For a restaurant, the atmosphere was great, but the music from their bar was way too loud and carried over. I would come back to this restaurant…

Google
Had a great time at Black Finn! Their crab cakes were absolutely yummy—packed with flavor and just the right amount of crisp. I paired them with my favorite Blue Moon, and it was the perfect combo for a relaxing meal. The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable, and the service was great too. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to for good food and good vibes!

Google
I'm actually very impressed with the food here. Some of these big bar/restaurants in the area are huge misses. But I've had two different meals at Blackfinn and both have been really delicious. I had the lemon chicken and most recently the fish tacos. My friend got the fried and I ordered the grilled. Both were very good but I preferred the fried slightly more. The restaurant is a great place for a happy hour, too. The service has always been very friendly and attentive. So great job Blackfinn! Keep it up.

Google
The cuisine was exceptional. We ordered the Cali Burger and the Bourbon Street Burger; both burgers were flavorful and cooked to perfection. The sauce on the Bourbon Burger complemented the burger nicely. The deviled eggs and Ying Yang shrimp were delicious and full of flavor. The beverages were enjoyable, especially during happy hour. Our server, Bradley, provided outstanding service.

Google
Met friends for happy hour and a meal. Nice cozy place, but pretty loud for old ears like mine. But it's a bar, can't complain. Fish and chips were very good and reasonably priced.

Samantha Feaster

Google
The house brewed light lager and red ale was excellent. The bar tenders were friendly and gave us recommendations of things to do in town. The garlic soft pretzel was soft and flavorful. Go check it out.

Yelp
When I travel I find me some cajun chicken pasta. My DC trip led me to Blackfinn and I wasn't disappointed. This is a helluva dish! Granted - to me "Cajun" and "blackened" are interchangeable and this is the blackened chicken Alfredo. Flavor is spot on and they don't go light on the noodles! Bucatini was a fun change of pace from my normal fettuccini noodle. As always - asked for a little extra spice. Didn't hit too hard but the flavor was still awesome. If you are like me and in DC - this is your spot!

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick lunch after seeing the White House on a solo trip to DC. It was a bit late in the afternoon so it was fairly dead (or maybe just seemed that way since it's a pretty huge bar/restaraunt) but I popped right up to the bar and had a beer and the Balboa sandwich. Portion was huge, the sandwich and the fries were both delicious -- definitely a winner if you're visiting DC and want a step up from the food truck fare I saw everywhere.

Yelp
I stopped in for a quick lunch during a busy work day and got exactly what I asked for and no more / no less. I ordered with the bartender and she was polite and took care of her guests (even if she kept forgetting to give peoples' cards back when they paid). The food was good for the price and the portion was good for a lunch. It was quiet for a lunch hour in the city but it is the day before a holiday and a busy day on the Hill.

Yelp
The cucumber cooler here is amazing! One of my favorite random happy hour cocktails in DC. They also have this delicious parmesan crusted pretzels that are the perfect drinking snack. If you're in the area, stop by!

Nya D.

Yelp
Today reminded me why I stopped eating here. I work directly accross the street and in the last 10 years I've have eaten here about 10 times. I thought today give it another try, but the same oh, same oh! Over priced salad with barely any toppings, flavor or salad dressing. This looked more like a side salad for the price of $19.00 which didnt even have any meat, as that was an extra $5.00. Never again!

Yelp
Phenomenal in almost every way. The food was flavorful and filling. Some places make me nervous when they serve too many different types of cuisine, but everything we had here was fantastic and properly cooked regardless of whether it was American, Asian, or Mediterranean. Our server was a polite but straightforward young man who kept us well taken care of. The only problem was that the kitchen took so long to send out our BBQ wings that we ended up cancelling them. My buffalo chicken bacon sandwich was so full of flavor, the buffalo sauce had seeped deep into the chicken and every bite was excellent. They brought me plenty of bleu cheese just as requested. Worth the stop-in if you're in DC!

Yelp
What an amazing location. The staff here are extremely welcoming. Knowledgeable about the city and its history and many attractions. Craft cocktails were prepared perfectly! Shrimp and Crab dip maybe the best in DC! A sporty, family and corporate atmosphere perfect for all occasions.
google avatar

Yelp
Came for dinner after checking out the Black Lives Matter Plaza. Food was good. I was very impressed with the shrimp and crab dip. Just wish they gave us more! lol. The crab cake did not disappoint either. Although we could have used more dipping sauce. And the sweet potato casserole was delish. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. The place was busy when we arrived but it was dinner time and happy hour so I could see why. But we had no problem getting a table.

Yelp
Great food, great service! We ordered the shrimp & crab dip -AMAZING, ORDER THIS! We had the flavorful creole burger with crispy fries-, and the with mac & quinoa-great.

Yelp
Went with friends to watch the AFC championship game. The place was absolutely packed as it's a Chiefs bar. Service was better the first hour ish we were there and then understandably got worse the busier they got. Their game day specials could have been a little better. Bud light was $6, Stella, goose island IPA and one other beer were $7. Those were the only beers on special. Note: when the bill came the budlight was listed at $7.25. Management should have ensured all game day specials were programmed correctly into the POS before such a huge event. They had a variety of food options on special. I got a half plate of totchos with chicken for $9.99. It was okay. Not amazing but not terrible. I thought it was odd the chicken was in a bbq sauce. Hardly any sour cream and no salsa. They didn't tell you what all came with it. The back half of the bar near the restrooms was at least twice as loud as the front. IMO they had the value up WAY too high. I could hear everything perfectly clear from inside the restroom. Folks were also smoking vapes (both weed and cigs) inside the bar. I get it's DC and weed is legal but it's not in a restaurant where food is served. Nobody wants to inhale your vape smoke. Also thought it was odd when the bill came there were two different prices. One if you pay cash and the other for credit. Why is this? Is this a DC thing? Restaurants should not be passing credit card fees onto customers like this if that's the reasoning.

Yelp
Came here for a group dinner to catch the game the place was super packed and with limited seating it took a while for our group to get seated because they had reservations for private party. The food was all right. The service was slow and unattended. We never got refills of any water at our table. Also took a long time for us to order and then get the bill. Just a pub to watch the game. Nothing special.
google avatar

Amit M.

Yelp
Parking: limited parking except for parking garages Food:cauliflower tots were really good and a good veggie option. lemon chicken was ok. could have been a bit more lemony but the chicken was cooked well. cheesecake was good and a great dessert to end the meal. Service:service was good and friendly Ambience: definitely that dark pub type of feel. plenty of seating and large booths

Yelp
We came here on a weeknight before a show and we had a good experience. Our server was very pleasant, although we do wish we had a little more attention, but I don't blamer her. They were very busy and had less staff than they probably should have at that time. I tried their hibiscus paloma which was good, and their peach sangria which I would recommend. The deviled eggs are funny because they were deep fried, and I wasn't a big fan, but my spouse like them. I enjoye the BLT chicken tacos. Would recommend sitting and eating here if you are in the neighborhood and looking for good bar/American food.

Yelp
Haven't reviewed in a while tbh, so take this with a grain of salt (no pun intended haha). Went to Blackfinn on a random Tuesday. I knew from the moment I walked in that it was a good vibe. It wasn't too crowded and I was easily able to find a seat at the bar. This was at 6pm and happy hour ends at 7pm. Happy hour deal is pretty solid, $2 off drafts and cocktails and some food items. As a foodie, the fries were crispy and seasoned well. Didn't get a chance to try any other food items. For cons, the bartenders were really nice but also on their cell phones for most of the time. So ordering another drink was a bit of a challenge to gain their attention. Overall, great happy hour experience and would go back again.

Yelp
A solid stop. It took a while for the previous table to be cleared, so we cleared ours and added all the things we hadn't cleared to that table. That table wasn't cleared until a few minutes after we left... However, the server was very grateful that we took care of it for him. Other than that, a pleasant experience.

Yelp
This place is fair. Super super darling wood thirty-something sports bar. Really disappointing. Women's restrooms are disgusting. Not just dirty, cold but also in a state of disrepair. Gross! service was slow. Tables floors old and dirty. French Fries were awesome. They don't make espresso martinis. Not mad about it, just think it's odd bc it's so "in" with the 30s crowd.
google avatar

Lou G.

Yelp
The cheese curds were really delicious. The Mac and cheese with pork too. Service was sub par. Our waitress must have left during our meal. Finished my beer and then my salad. A second beer would have been nice at an appropriate time. Great place for us to watch the eagles vs packers game.

Yelp
Nice pub in central DC for small and large parties. The ambiance is that of a typical Irish pub and the food is of highest quality (especially the burgers), service was also expedient but also they don't rush people to finish up - and not feeling rushed is one of the most important aspects of an Irish pub for me. Highly recommend
google avatar

Natalie C.

Yelp
Solid neighborhood sports bar with a flare. Massive and I can only imagine how great it would be on a game day or tournament (there are 20+ TVs around the bar). Wide array of items on the menu and great happy hour. For food, the Hippie Bowl was sizable and full of tons of chicken. Not much more flavor than the tomato base, but still a good dish. Highly recommend the BLT Tacos (make the chicken buffalo and swap the rice for fries...amazing). SUPER sweet staff and very attentive. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
We found this pub simply because we wanted a place to watch the KC Chiefs game. It was Christmas Eve day and they were open just for the game! The staff were friendly and very welcoming! The food is standard bar/pub food- but everything was great- we had wings, a burger and nachos. The atmosphere- especially for the game- was great. The staff is very efficient and hard working- they may have had fewer employees since it was a holiday- We will go here always when we're in town! Check it out!
google avatar

Cara L.

Yelp
Visiting for an extended weekend, looking for a place to watch the KC Chiefs game and found this incredible place!! Service was meh but they were slammed so I'll cut them some slack. Definitely could have been better. Food was flavorful and fun!! Great vibe meeting new friends and cheering with other Chiefs fans!

Yelp
My favorite is the sweet potato casserole....The food is awesome, along with the atmosphere.

Yelp
My kids and I go to the dentist up the street from this place. My daughter was at sleep away camp so my son and I had a lunch date. We were hungry and wanted somewhere to sit down to eat. We walked past this place and decided to try it. It was cool on the inside so we decide to eat outside since it was a fairly nice day. The service was AMAZING and so was the food. I absolutely love pasta so it was a no brainer that was what I was going to order. It was delicious and plentiful. My son had burger and fries which is always a safe bet when it comes to kids. He's a little foodie so I trusted his word when he said it was good.

Andrew S.

Yelp
Pretty good food. Bad service. Our waiter didn't ever come to the table, we had to keep getting ip to get him
google avatar

Yelp
Nice spot to go to before walking through the National Mall, the food is good and will fill you up. Our waitress was amazing. She was super nice and made sure we were taken care of. I got a flatbread from the apps section and it was great for lunch for just myself to eat. Plenty of sports on tv and DC themed decor!
google avatar

Lisa I.

Yelp
Their chicken sandwich with Alabama white barbecue sauce was phenomenal! A must try! Their steak salad was also amazing! I ordered the white cran sangria, and it was okay. I've had better sangria other places. I would definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Yelp
I would say if you are passing by and would like a quick beer, this is your spot. We had the intention of going here for dinner, but started with a couple drinks and appetizer. Sat at the bar but the bartenders seemed a little put off that they had to serve us, or people in general. My wife's drinks that was a twisted ice tea, tasted watered down. Order the queso dip. It was some weird runny cheese. We ended up not having dinner here and went to Stans. Glad we decided to change.

Wyatt F.

Yelp
They gave my friend the wrong food and when I asked them to replace it they never came by and gave him the right food they never refill our drinks and they never had god costumer service

Dallin B.

Yelp
Charloite 5/5 Demetri bar manager went above and beyond and was super hostile against opposite opppions.

Yelp
Food was fresh tasty and hot Had a burger and chicken wrap Decent service and good value

Yelp
To start with, the location is good right in front of the White House, and there is 2 hour street parking available, but it might be difficult to get a spot on a busy day. We got lunch here and then started our DC siteseeing. The food is average, not too great or bad. I had a hippie bowl, and my vegetarian friends had stir fry and cauliflower tots, both of which were OK. The place is kid-friendly. They have high chairs and provide papers and colors to kids to keep them entertained. However, I wasn't a fan of the food from the kids' menu. We got fish sticks and fries for our toddler. They were extremely oily and kind of tasteless, and I found a fish bone in one of the sticks. Our hostesss however was very pleasant, and food came out pretty quickly, too. Ambiance wise, it's a typical American pub bar.
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
This place has a great casual, nice vibe to it. The pork mac and cheese was some of the best Mac I've had.
google avatar

Vicki E.

Yelp
The pretzels were delicious! The eggs were interesting but bland. Our waiter was very helpful and recommended the pretzels which we really liked. Beautiful old bar close to the White House.
google avatar

Craig A.

Yelp
A fairly typical sports bar environment. The food was good, better than I expected. My son had a wrap and was very happy with it, and I had a salad with a piece of grilled chicken that was fine. The service was very prompt and attentive. Definitely recommended if you're in the mood for this type of cuisine.

Jimmy L.

Yelp
I'm came back 3 years later food is still good ,service still awesome Only draw back is the price went up. It makes sense we are right next to the White House But $30 for 8 wings and fries is wild
google avatar

Jeremy P.

Yelp
Went here twice in the past week since I'm in town and met friends here both times. First time: So the Cali burger was phenomenal. Great flavor, cooked right, good size portion. The fries were excellent as well. Service was good and friendly. We Sat in the bar area and you could tell our waitress was a bit overwhelmed w how busy it was but she did a good job handling it. Prices were good as well. Nothing crazy. Second time: the balboa was lacking punch. My friend got the same as I did and actually sent it back for the bama chicken sandwich which he said was much better. The balboa was just small and not much to it. I wasn't impressed unfortunately. Fries were still good. I'd give it a 2/5 this time. It's a neat place and seems to stay busy. In the end, I'll stick w their burgers if I come back.
google avatar

Ashley K.

Yelp
This place is just OK. I'm first timer accompanied by my colleagues and though the tuna sandwich was the highlight , it was entirely too loud to have a conversations. Also, the cauliflower tots weren't that's good. The deep fried with cheese and come with the buffalo sauce and ranch. The fries were good though and my friend enjoyed her tuna sandwich. Can't speak to parking bc I walked from the office but it's unlikely I would return. OH! And they also charge a processing fee if you pay with card. Never seen that before in DC.
google avatar

Brad A.

Yelp
Service was nice. Fair Long Island tea (not bad, not good), bartender was disinterested, food ugh. Nothing jumbo about those wings standard Sam's Club bag wings, drenched in too much sauce. The nachos - just avoid! Topped ok, big plate of chips and nothing below. Had to pay extra for something to dip all the plain chip in. I'm really being kind with my stars review I wanted to go one star. My heart is a basic bland and edible, nothing special, priced well for the location. Function food in the belly... ambiance was best thing about location! More attention to the food please!
google avatar

FrancesMary L.

Yelp
Understaffed and unprepared. We sat in the bar area, as it was open seating and less crowded than the dining room. We picked wrong. We waited 5-10 minutes for our server to greet us and take our order. Then, it was another 30-40 minutes to get our food. The kitchen staff missed a main ingredient in my husbands meal and when I asked for Parmesan cheese, the food runner didn't know what it was. We are now sitting here, having been finished with our food for 15 minutes- no water or drink refills and have not been checked on. There were even people complaining at the bar that their food was taking too long. This is no fault of the server, as he is very attentive to all of his tables and the full bar. There needs to be another 1-2 servers in this area. The manager finally came to take our plates and give us the check. On the way out, we saw the same man smoking a cigarette outside (while the wait staff needed extra help) with one of the customers who disrupted other individuals at the bar and was yelling at a staff member. They even charge a credit card processing fee... Maybe would've been a better experience if it was less busy.
google avatar

Nate T.

Yelp
They did tell us before we sat that they were understaffed. So the long waits for the drinks was understandable. The actual time the food hit the table after we ordered was fairly quick surprisingly (party of 9). The calamari was perfectly cooked and seasoned well. Waitress Krystal was pretty quick and consistent. Fumbled a few times on the check but eventually got it right. And they charge a convenience fee when you use a card which is very surprising. First time seeing that. Not a fan.
google avatar

Sonja A.

Yelp
Decent place for sporting enthusiasts. Baseball and ESPN was on every telly (except one showing ChiveTV). Took in the start of the NBA Finals after late night happy hour. Prices weren't too bad and a few select H.H. bites available ($5.99/ea or all 5 for $25). Liquor is standard and surprisingly, Tito's is on tap here. Large clean space, small patio out front. Service....meh. Our first server never announced his departure so we never got the hand off. We waited for what seemed like 30min before anyone else came to tend to us. Not sure if that's a thing here in DC?
google avatar

Jenny C.

Yelp
The cucumber cooler was strong and refreshing. Chicken fried chicken was the ultimate comfort food. Glad we stopped by!
google avatar

Joe I.

Yelp
We had a reservation and the hostess was very rude, which was a sour note to start on - hung over the whole dinner. Decent beer selection. Our server was decent but disappeared after our food was delivered. Wife and I both had the tacos which were good. One kid had the grilled cheese and liked one had the flatbread and was meh about it. I wanted another beer but our server was awol and by the time she came back we were done eating. It was fine but I don't recommend.
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
Food was good, service ok. Music way too Loud. Can't say we'd go back. Perhaps if they had less loud ambiance.
google avatar

Trevor B.

Yelp
I have been here a handful of times and I am never disappointed. My initial draw to this place is the fact that it is a KC Chiefs bar. Game days are by far the best! Lots of team spirit and decorations. They have the volume of the game up high enough that you can actually hear the game sounds and the commentary, which is nice. The food here is great too! Most recently, I ordered the Southern BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos. There was the perfect amount of ingredients to chip ratio and they were not shy about the amount of meat they provided. It had a great smoky flavor and the cheese was fantastic. The service was prompt and efficient. Super nice employees!

Sebastian R.

Yelp
bad service overall, would ignore customer and not bring condiments and/or drinks even if asked LITERALLY 5 TIMES. Food pretty good ngl except for burgers literally just beef cheese and bun... All i have to say.

Zachary H.

Yelp
This KC bar is fantastic for games. Has a great assortment of beer. Even when it was busy for the super bowl, our servers were fantastic and attentive.
google avatar

Nancy G.

Yelp
This is the best sports bar I've ever been to! They create such a fun, energized, just like you are there experience. Watching the Suoer Bowl here now....electric! GO CHIEFS!!
