"Adam Blackman and David Cruz's eponymous shop occupies a space that once was a gay nightclub (it was in American Gigolo if you'd like to see it in its former incarnation), which just gives credence to the concept that you never know where you might find treasure. They have impeccable taste and a curatorial sensibility which makes this one of LA's more inspirational home goods shops. "

Awesome place. Adam is particularly cool to speak with of the owners. And Phillip is a genius of a salesperson / curator. Enjoy our time here. Wife loves the place — what a great candle scent even. Unique objects worthy of checking out!

Yelp
Furniture pieces that have to be seen to be believed. Unusual works for the wall -- paintings and beautiful mirrors with unusual provenance. African cultural pieces. French bureaus. Antique military pieces that are particularly cool. Americana pieces scattered in as well. The collection is impressive. We visit to see what they have and chat with the friendly staff. Adam and David have been written up in the NY Times they are very well known in the interior decoration world. I do hope to see more of the unusual museum quality pieces they carry at times. It is a pleasure to see what they come up with and we wish them continued success.

Yelp
Furnishings at a level that is without peer in L.A. An amazing mix of Studio Furniture made by contemporary artists, and unique pieces from the 20th century. Last time I was in I saw a huge armoire by Carlo Bugatti, that was in a class of its own. I also love the "Deliquescent" console table. It would be perfect if I ever moved into the Casa Milà. I've always been treated really well when I visit. I feel free to wander, but get excellent information if I ask a question about a piece.

Yelp
Unique doesn't begin to describe the depth of stuff I see each visit...things I never knew existed. Friendliness without being pushy.

Yelp
Last time I was in Blackman Cruz there was a huge Eadweard Muybridge print that was larger than any of his work I had ever seen. Museum worthy. This time, in their new digs, there were important artifacts of daily life of any sentient modernist: a disco ball with independently articulated mirrored lenses (the mirror ball looked like a Greek cross divided in thirds where each element spun in the opposite direction of the adjoining mirrors.) Imagine how light fills any place lucky enough to have such a thing. The owners are charming. I was with my friend, Kelly Lasser. On Saturdays, they have drawing salons with their friends complete with life models. There were tiaras from lost debutantes. And, a sterling grasshopper together with African headdresses. Heaven.

Yelp
Okay, years in the design business, and an Art aficionado, I love the thriving design scene here in LA. It truly runs the gamut giving way to any whim or conviction that could ever cross the mind...and then there is Blackman Cruz. With an open mind and a true thirst for seeing things in a new light, I thrill at the very chance to take a couple of hours and indulge my senses by enjoying a stroll around in any one of the many wonderful Design Pockets here in Los Angeles. I always come away with a positive, whether it's something old, new, borrowed, or blue, it's fun to take it all in. And then there is Blackman Cruz. Rock Star Stuff. The Bomb artistic sick ill over the rainbow intelligent thoughtful humorous substantial tactile catwalk of source for the few who can see past everybody else. Thank you from the bottom of my heART.

Yelp
for unique furniture and accessories, this place cannot be beat. the boys at BC have a certain aesthetic that reflects sophisticated ruin, and i really love it. The cast metal octopus tentacle floor lamp? GORGEOUS. looks great in my house, btw. Cast Sisyphus bookends? fantastic, vaguely homoerotic, perfect for the living room bookshelves. the Pompeiian phallic wind chime? hmmm. Might look nice in my garden, but possibly a wee bit too gay, even for me. variety of 19th and 20th century furniture; a wide range of interesting objets d'art, and the fantastic lamps and furniture from the BC studio.

Yelp
This place is simply awesome. These guys are the ultimate tastemakers and way ahead of their time. I would pay to enter this store it is so much fun. They're the one's who started this concept and continue to be leaders in their field

Yelp
This store is unparalleled anywhere! Incredible furniture, antiques, art and home decor. Electic mix of contemporary and vintage. They are able to manufacture and/or tweak most designs to suit your specific needs. Prices are deservedly stratospheric and you should not be shopping here if your are not looking for a truly magnificent and unique piece...price is an afterthought. That said, it is great just to go for a walk through and take in this amazing environment.

Yelp
Better than shopping the flea market in Paris , curating completed. A journey of true treasures, and some will surprise you. Collections of curiousties with euphoric effect. Best if you don't talk and just look around and let it soak in. Highlight of my visit GL

Yelp
Beautiful gallery to wander through, the owners have a keen eye for the unusual and gorgeous foundrey work. I love the new space and then stroll down to Susan Fenigers's Street restaurant.
