I have been doing business with the Blacksmiths Depot for a number of years now, as an amateur smith. Each transaction has been smooth and efficient, with great communication from Cathy Kayne and her team, fast shipping, and quality merchandise. Blacksmiths depot will always have my business as long as its doors are open. Whenever I have a question or need guidance in purchasing they are quick to answer the phone and seem to genuinely enjoy taking my questions and giving me guidance. I am a (mostly until recently) self taught smith. I started in a mixed media/fabrication heavy sculpture studio. There was an anvil and forge there that was collecting dust in a corner. I dusted it off one day started forging and fell in love with blacksmithing. Because of this I had no idea what equipment I needed let alone what was available. Every metal artist I knew recommended using blacksmiths depot and ever since then I have routinely called in for advice on what to purchase. They have always been eager to take my questions in a non judgmental and genuine fashion. At this point they are my main source for hand tools I don’t want to make and equipment like vises I don’t feel like hunting down in vintage tool sales. I would recommend them to anyone because they are a genuine small business that serves people who love the same thing they do and have in no way become jaded in dealing with inexperienced people such as myself. Also they send me cool stickers and other swag randomly with my purchases which a nice bonus.

Absolutely the best blacksmith supply in the southeast. Great stock of quality goods and their prices are reasonable. You can find cheaper stuff online but the quality is not even close. Kane & Sons also has a catalogue and a nice website. All of the family members are quite knowledgable but I especially enjoy talking to the dad. He has a vast knowledge and has lots of stories. Call ahead to make sure their open and bring some treats for the dogs. They bark but don't bite.
