My Waterfront Ride-or-Die
Let me be clear--Blackwall Hitch isn't just a restaurant. It's my happy place. My go-to for friend catch-ups, office gossip sessions, Sunday survival brunches, or just treating myself like the coastal royalty I pretend to be. I've been coming here for years, and not once--not once--have I walked out disappointed (unless you count being full to the point of regret, which I don't).
Let's talk Sunday brunch, a.k.a. the real reason I have trust issues with other buffets. It's an all-you-can-eat extravaganza that makes you question why you ever bothered with "just a coffee" on Sundays. There's an omelette station run by wizards, a prime rib carving bar that makes you feel like you're at a medieval feast, raw oysters so fresh they whisper ocean secrets, and a waffle bar that comes with toppings, no judgment, and yes, I tried all of them.
And don't even get me started on the shrimp and grits--it's like the South gave me a warm hug and a spicy wink. Throw in cocktail shrimp, biscuits drowning in sausage gravy, and beverages that go down a little too easily (hello, mimosa refill #4), and you've got yourself a Sunday well lived.
The vibe? Coastal chic meets brunch party. Big sunny windows, live music, and a waitstaff that hustles like it's their cardio. Whether you're sipping a Bloody Mary or just soaking in the waterfront views while pretending not to eavesdrop on the next table's drama, this place delivers.
In short, Blackwall Hitch is the Beyoncé of the Alexandria waterfront. Consistently fabulous, crowd-pleasing, and always in control of the room.
