Spotlight on Ireland's County Cork

"Charming 18th century barn and hayloft, just a stone's throw from the sea, with fantastic panoramic views, pretty gardens, a courtyard and a lily pond. Stylish bar and stone-walled, candlelit dining room. Starters and desserts are in buffet format, while the seasonal main courses are cooked on a wood-fired chargrill. Luxurious, modern bedrooms are dotted about the place." - The MICHELIN Guide Nordic Editorial Team

We stayed in The Loft for one night, the accommodation was perfect and the views over Dunmanus Bay were stunning. The bed was so comfortable, the robes were fluffy. It felt so cosy, like a little cottage. There was a fireplace with everything ready to light a fire. It had so many beautiful touches like a candle, milk in the fridge, a massive selection of books and shortbread biscuits. |The restaurant was an old barn which was converted. It had beautiful exposed stone walls. Every member of staff were so friendly and attentive. The pianist playing was amazing. We loved choosing our own starters and desserts. I had the monkfish for my main and it was cooked to perfection. |Overall we had such a lovely time, definitely one to remember!

We stayed for one night primarily because we had heard fab reviews about the restaurant. We were not disapointed. The service and atmosphere in the bar and restaurant were only surpassed by the quality of our meals. I had sole which was on special and it was delicious, perfectly cooked.. The welcome for pre-dinner drinks was friendly and professional, a theme which continued throughout the evening. |It was not just the restaurant however. We stayed in the loft where we experienced luxurious facilities and breakfast served to our room. Thank you for the sherry by the way!

We had a wonderful short stay at The Piggery. The cottage had everything up in need and is decorated beautifully, beds were comfortable and complimentary sherry and shortbread was provided on arrival. We had pre-dinner drinks in the courtyard before dinner as the weather was warm and sunny. Dinner was delicious from the choice of starters, our steak and stones mains and the wonderful dessert station. The atmosphere was lovely with a pianist playing all evening. Cocktails were excellent. Anne really took care of our family and was a lovely host. All in all a super stay and we can’t wait to return.

From the moment we arrived a beautifully written welcome note with our names on and directions to our room made it extra special. We were feeling tired and wanted to rest. Our room was warm and welcoming . A complimentary drink and cookies waiting for us. Plus our restaurant reservation time written on lovely paper. Everything tasteful and straightforward. No confusion or questions to ask.

Had a fabulous stay at Blairscove. The restaurant was fantastic . I am coeliac and the staff took such care of me. There was almost the same choice for me as for the other guests. The food was fantastic and the home made GF bread was delicious. I felt like I had been given a huge hug! So often eating out as a coeliac is complicated - not here. The location and the rooms are also stunning. We will be back

Blairscove is without a doubt one of the finest places to visit if you are looking for both refinement and warmth. From the moment you arrive, you step into an atmosphere where time seems to pause. The crackling fire and the grand chandelier at the center of the room create a setting that feels like another world, one you are fortunate enough to discover for the length of an evening. The welcome is impeccable, the cocktail list is rich and varied and every detail is chosen with taste and elegance. The buffet of starters is full of different tastes to enjoy, the main courses strike a perfect balance between creativity and local flavors, and the dessert buffet is the perfect sweet finale to a remarkable meal. The cocktails designed to accompany the desserts are nothing short of exceptional. Blairscove is a place not to be missed if you want to experience a magical escape, whether during a visit to West Cork or while planning a journey through Ireland.

We loved the property, the food, staff and ambience. I loved breakfast in our room the following morning - I had been sceptical so it was a lovely surprise, when the table was dressed and our pre ordered breakfast presented so tastefully. The only reason we gave it a 4 instead of 5 - we were staying in the loft, it was a warm day, we could only open some small windows partially and it was melting hot. There were fans provided but it was just blowing hot air around

I absolutely loved my self-catering stay here. The accommodation has a quirky charm that makes it truly unique. Mornings start perfectly with breakfast delivered right to your door, and there's a fantastic restaurant just across the courtyard for when you want to dine out. The small but well-equipped kitchen is ideal for self-catering, giving you great flexibility. All of this is set in a stunning location overlooking the bay — a truly beautiful and peaceful setting.
