Mexican Fare From Blanco Tacos + Tequila Just Hit the Galleria Area - Eater Houston

"Blanco Tacos + Tequila a new modern Mexican eatery from the group behind North Italia just debuted near the Galleria. The Fox Restaurant Concepts project opened right on schedule this week at 5115 Westheimer Road, Suite C2520. It’s the first Texas outpost for the Arizona-based brand, which operates several Blanco Tacos + Tequilas in its home state and one in Southern California. Blanco’s menu features approachable offerings of tacos, burritos, bowls, enchiladas, and fajitas. Some standout dishes include a hamachi and watermelon ceviche with cucumber, avocado, jalapeño, dried pomegranate seed, and salted pistachios; Blanco’s riff on traditional elotes with ancho chile, lime, mayo, cilantro, and cotija cheese; plus short rib or fried shrimp tacos with pickled onion, jalapeño, guacamole and chipotle aioli; and wagyu carne asada fajitas with tomatillo soy marinade. There’s also a lengthy list of beer, wine, tequila, sangria, margaritas and cocktails like the Oaxacan Shandy with pineapple, blood orange liqueur, blanco tequila, mexican beer, and cilantro; or the Ginger Spice Paloma with grapefruit, Azuñia tequila, ginger, and sparkling grapefruit soda." - Alaena Hostetter

Absolute awesome gem! Excellent service. Every morsel scrumptious and the drinks delectable. Decor was beautiful and we will definitely return. Parking is minimal for a lot however it is the Galleria area and to be expected.

The enticing atmosphere reeled me in and the Tex-Mex inspired menu had my taste buds ready to experience some new flavors. The Rose Bonita Margarita was well spiked with tequila, but presentation and unique flavors were minimal. The guacamole impressed and the thin tortilla chips paired well. Grilled Avocado Tacos were okay, while the rice and black beans provided the entree with additional flavor.

One spot I didn’t know about, and I can say it’s a great Mexican restaurant in Galleria! When I went to this location I wasn’t expecting much, but I gotta admit that it changed my mind as soon as I tasted their chips, salsa and queso. I had the Carne Asada bowl and gotta say it has a great flavor! The charro beans and the rice had a homemade taste, the guac had a great taste, and the meat had a strong flavor and I really liked it! I’d say they’re like the homemade version of Chipotle, and don’t get me wrong, I really love chipotle. Congrats to the staff who work there and I’m definitely coming back.

5/5/25 EDIT: I was fortunate enough to be able to return and have a much much better experience - almost unrecognizable the difference. I came on cinco de mayo also, which is a busy day to return. I was personally called to confirm my reservation - seated immediately, and didn’t even wait before the server came to take my drink order. Service was phenomenal!!! We had the watermelon margs (sooo good) and chicken taquitos to start - these were my all time fav. We then ordered the shrimp and chicken fajitas…I will say the only downfall to my visit was portion sizes for price. Each fajita is around $30 and they don’t give you much meat at all….or sides to build. The rice is also just not my cup of tea. The last lack of star was for food to price ratio alone - but this place did a total 180° in my book and I am much more likely to return. Thanks again so much for the new experience!!! ———————————————- This was probably one of the worst taco experiences I’ve ever had. Would you believe this meal cost $50? It was for their “Eat drink HTX” deal too…an overly dressed Caesar salad and only two shrimp tacos with about 3 little pieces of shrimp each. The rice was disgusting and the salsa couldn’t even be a saving grace. The tacos were super messy too with a ton of liquid that came out and ruined the plate and my shirt. They also put the entire cilantro stem in which sucked. The service was also extremely terrible. I almost got up from the bar after 15 minutes of him and nobody else even greeting me…mind you there was only one other person at the bar and they already had their food. I wish I had bc this all around was a terrible experience. As I left I warned waiting customers. Not sure where the rating came from.

Located in the heart of the galleria Houston, wait it’s actually attached the Houston Galleria mall on the Westheimer Street side with free parking and valet parking for $12. Went there for happy hours- All day Tuesday. They have out door and indoor seating but weather and maybe staffing availability. Happy hour definitely worth it. Tanneka was my server at the bar and she was amazing.

Blanco Cocina + Cantina at the Galleria in Houston is a fantastic spot for flavorful food and refreshing drinks. The cheese crisps with short rib machaca were the highlight—rich, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The portion was generous enough to easily feed two people, making it a great dish to share. it also had a large scoop of guacamole and was served with salsa on the side. To pair with the meal, the frozen grapefruit Paloma was a standout. Tangy, refreshing, and smooth, it was the perfect complement to the hearty flavors. I’ve eaten here several times in the past three months as I am in and out of Houston too often it seems. I started with a margarita, but I always ask the bartender to sweeten it up with some agave since their house mix is a little sour. Other highlights on the menu would be the short rib, Machico nachos and the short rib Machaca street tacos! Yes, the short rib is amazing. You should definitely try it. With its vibrant ambiance, friendly service, and creative menu, Blanco Cocina + Cantina is a must-visit for anyone craving bold and satisfying Mexican cuisine! This restaurant being in the galleria tends to get jammed up with traffic so if you’re staying at a hotel nearby, I would suggest walking to this restaurant. The parking is obnoxious and drivers impatient. Beyond the parking, this is definitely one of my favorite Catina’s to head up when staying in Houston. It’s truly affordable. The food quality is amazing. And it’s beyond Tex-Mex.

I went for Restaurants week and it was awesome! The drinks were amazing and the food was delicious. I got the shrimp tacks and tamale, both were very flavorful! The parking however was HORRIFIC! The parking garage was full so I ended up parking valet, which I didn't mind. It was $13 and they do take card. I didn't like the high traffic in the area, but it is the Galleria, so I guess it's to be expected. Oh and one more thing. The chips and salsa were soooo good!!

Google
Nice place at “The Mall”, Galleria Houston is what it is. Tucked in on the end of the mall in a convenient place to valet park. Took a little while to get us seated even with reservations. Younger staff that was a maybe a little overwhelmed with a a restaurant that was not really that busy. However, the flavors of the Shrimp Tacos and the Vegetarian Enchiladas were very tasty. We did the Eat Drink TX Charity meal for $25./meal. Portions were bigger than expected and more than enough food. We’ll be back, nice place for Friday Night Mexican Food and a walk at the mall.

Yelp
What a perfect spot for a meal before a Zack Bryan concert. Clean, quick to be seated, the food is very good. The shrimp enchiladas with the green sauce is next level. Service is on point. Dinner for 3.5 105 cocunuts

Yelp
This place was so much more fire than I expected! Being located at the Galleria had me slightly skeptical because I've had some places there and they looked nice with bland food. That was not the case at all here. For me this place truly hit in every area and as I write this review I find myself thinking I need to plan a return trip. You can enter in either from outside or from inside of the mall. As this was the only reason I came I entered in from outside. Coming in the interior design is really nice. The earthy colors are nice and you get a great pop from the colored wall that has a neon sign reading "Te Amo Tequila". There is an open kitchen view that separates from the dining area by a large glass wall. I love open kitchens because it lets me know that the restaurant feels confident in their cleanliness to allow guests to view it. Plus it's nice to see the different things in the kitchen. I remember that just seeing the bright yellow and green of lemons and limes in the kitchen added to the look of the restaurant to me. There wasn't anyone at the front when I came in and a group was in front of me. I had a reservation and once I did speak to someone I was soon seated and waiting for the date I was meeting. The waiter was cool and I believe was helpful when I finish did start going through the menu. Of course the table came with complimentary chips and salsa and I am happy to say that it was a really good salsa. Oftentimes at some places the salsa with the chips can be a letdown, but it was not here. I'm not one for alcohol with my meals but I decided to get a margarita. I got the Smashed Strawberry & Mandarin and it came in looking great and tasted amazing! Combined with the chips and salsa this meal was shaping up to be great! Continuing on with the meal we had the Chicken Taquitos for a starter and I think they came out with or after my main dish but it was no problem. By themselves the taquitos were great white the Chipotle-Avocado Salsa they were YES! Now a chimichanga is my absolute favorite dish of all time, but not everywhere does it justice, so I'm often hesitant to order it at new places. I saw it on the menu and had to go back and forth a few times before I pulled the trigger and order the Chicken Tinga Chimichanga. And when I tell you it hit the mark, I mean it HIT THE MARK! It didn't come in a cheese and gravy sauce as most chnimis I've had have come but it didn't matter because this one was banging. When I eat, I eats, so I'm not usually one to eat less than half my food but I legit only ate maybe half, if that, of my chimichanga. It came with pico de gallo, guacamole sour cream, rice and beans, and they were all light delicious and paired well with the chimi. I mean this so seriously, as I write and look at the photos of the meal I had, I want to go back ASAP so bad! The biggest problem is that I enjoyed everything I had so much that I want all of it again but then again, if all of that was so good then I'm sure there are other delicious treats on the menu. Blanco I shall be back!

Yelp
Pretty good Tex Mex place. The queso was great, enjoyed the chicken fajitas, and the tres leches was delicious too. For some reason the rice that came with the fajita fixens was really amazing and I wish I got more of that. I feel like I was looking for something more traditional and less high end for the Tex Mex, but this was the best rated spot in this part of Houston and I did enjoy it. Not mind-blowing, but very good. And he app, fajitas, and tres leches were part of a 3 for $30 menu that I do highly recommend. Do attend.

Yelp
Still have the same sentiments as I had posted about before. I still think it's a beautiful Mexican restaurant at the Galleria. Great for happy hour, Taco Tuesday, or dinner. I love their nachos, chicken pastor tacos, and frozen margaritas.

Yelp
I always enjoy my lunches at Blanco. Got to have a great margarita on the patio, for our one cool morning this past week. Tried some different drinks and they were great. Our waiter was fantastic and the food was spot on.

Yelp
Stopped here with a colleague for a quick lunch close to the hotel and it was inside the Galleria Mall on the first floor on the NW corner. It was pretty easy to find and we didn't have to go outside to get there. The queso was one of the best queso's that I've had. It had a nice mix of pico, sour cream, and guac with it and was just velvety delicious. They were a little slow with the chip refill which is dumb. If you bring chips and salsa out, then someone orders queso, then bring more chips! Service in general wasn't great. It wasn't overly busy either, it was just difficult to get drink refills which were needed after flying all morning. Having the glass FULL of ice didn't help either. I hate that! I ordered the Chimichanga "Sam Style" which came with a crispy taco too, something I usually try to do at a Mexican restaurant. The taco was just ok with run of the mill ingredients and a shell that "shattered" when you took a bite. (Why did you take a bite of my taco anyway? For Shame) The Chicken Tinga was definitely Texas sized and would have been plenty on its own. I think I ate about half of it partially because I was full and partially because the inside was a mushy mess. I was hoping for some sign of chicken pieces, but it was just kinda porridge like. I'd probably go here again just for the queso. I didn't have any drinks, but I'd probably get one with the queso next time too. And I'd make sure I had time to kill as well... Don't go in a rush!

Yelp
First time at this restaurant and the food and drinks did not disappoint at all. I got the frozen coconut margarita and it was so delicious, I got a second round. I also got the mango margarita, but it was not as good as the coconut one. For my meal, I ordered the short rib machaca burrito. The burrito was delicious and the rice with corn was out of this world. It had a hint of coconut, which I truly enjoyed. The service was really good. Our waiter was attentive and friendly.

Yelp
Maybe an off day for Blanco's but I do look for consistency when I dine at my favorites! I brought my friends for an impromptu tacos and margaritas night but was disappointed with the $70 pitcher margarita we ordered and service was slow as well. The nachos with short ribs were perfect! It was crunchy nachos with all the fresh yummy toppings and beef short rib for an extra few dollars! The food was great as well. We shared the tiger shrimp with spicy garlic butter sauce and added carne and some rice... The first margarita pitcher we ordered was the mango stand but it just tasted too sour with almost No alcohol. Then we ordered the strawberry smash margarita but it was flat and not tasteful at all. When we were placing our order, I specifically requested the tiger shrimp and add the carne as an extra portion but on the receipt it was reversed and the server added the carne as the main which was $2 extra and then added the shrimp as the add on... the transparency would have been a nice courtesy. Either way, a bit disappointed but will continue to come

Yelp
Food and drinks were top notch, all the way down to the rice. Super flavorful. And our waitress was pretty cool as well. The place is beautiful too! Nice small group celebration dinner spot or little date night.

Yelp
Blanco has a few things going for it: First, the service was impeccable. Our server was on-the-ball, super friendly, and was ready to help us at a moment's notice. Second, the Raging Burro drink is incredible and could be very dangerous if you don't take your time and pay attention to the drink. However, for the food, it's only ok. The street corn appetizer was probably the best thing we had. Clearly chips and salsa don't count, but they were also okay. The chips were either not salted or extremely salty - it was very odd. As for the entrees, everyone reported their food was "fine" - for a Tex Mex joint in Texas, I'm not sure that is very solid. The Short Rib was definitely fine, but the rice was very, very salty and almost buttery - which was odd. The rice 100% brought down the meal. If you're in the Galleria, drop by for a drink and some salsa, for sure.

Yelp
The ambiance was really nice and it wasn't that busy for a Friday around 6 PM. Our waiter, Jacobi was very accommodating and made the experience all the better. In terms of the food I recommend the carne asada tacos, short rib tacos, queso, and chips and salsa. I will definitely be back for this fine dining Mexican food.

Yelp
The food came out quickly and was very fresh. I'm not a fan of short ribs, but these were well seasoned with the nachos and burrito. Our server Asia was very nice and attentive. The vibe was nice and I thoroughly enjoyed the nice breeze. My husband loves this place. Came all the way from Louisiana for a meal.

Yelp
The food is good and ceviche is outstanding good portion and the price affordable. Nice place to be with family and friends

Yelp
This was my first stop in Houston. I was starving and craving texmex fresh off the plane. I believe this is a chain restaurant but I went in blindly as it smelled delicious and the drinks looked good. Also, an outside bar? Yes please. The food was pretty good. I ate the entire cheese crisp thingy because it's such a thin crust and the short rib was braised to perfection. My drink was good too! I didn't get a photo. We stayed for a couple hours chatting and nipping at our dishes and chips and salsa. Not sure I'd visit again since I'm not a local but I can tell it's a vibe at night for those who do live in the area.

Yelp
I was in town for my besties bachelorette party! We had just finished hot yoga and we were starving BUT I was craving tacos! So she brought me to this place and listen! It was deeeeliiiish!! We sat outside at the bar. The weather was good. Our waiter was very pleasant and attentive. They had happy hour going on so we were able to snag some happy hour prices on food & drinks OVERALL... you guys definitely get a 5/5 from me cause i enjoyed EVERYTHING!! Thank you!

Yelp
The aesthetic of so cute and vibrant and they had the game on in the back service was nice. Our server was so kind and friendly. And didn't even turn her nose up when I had to send my food back. I got the fish tacos, and I wasn't really impressed, the fish was ok but the slaw, I guess...i was expecting maybe some creaminess or acid or something, but it was just really crunchy cabbage. And my taste buds couldn't fake the funk. On a brighter note, the mango ceviche was delicious and my lunch date loved the salad and the tortilla soup. The Fresca was so refreshing and can't forget the comp chips and salsa that was the right amount of chunky. Not sure if I'll be back but it's cool for a before/after shopping meal.

Yelp
First time having dinner at this Tex-Mex restaurant and had awesome experience. Keep in mind this is more of an upscale establishment and not your typical Tex-mex where they overload you with food; it's more smaller portions but enough per person. I had leftovers but depends on your appetite. So I'm giving 5 stars for the fresh quality and seasoning of food and it taste good. Also, the service and waitress were great! For starters we tried the warm queso which I must admit was lighter than most and not as cheesy. It was almost like a cream based sauce texture. I wasn't sure I'd liked it at first, but the flavors were good and came through. It's not your typical Mexican queso that I'm used to but it had a good flavor. For dinner I enjoyed the steak tacos and grilled street corn which was good and the meat was super tender as I ordered it cooked medium. My friends had the chicken fajitas and braised short rib bowl which was equally full of flavor and delicious. Ambiance was warm and not to loud. Bar area is nice and I like that they have a outdoor patio as well with TVs to watch sports. I will definitely go back to try more entrees and happy hour menu. Almost forgot to mention that the 1800 Margarita is the business...they have experienced bartenders in the house for sure. Hopefully, I'll have the same experience and consistency with the food to keep this high rating. Nice place to go for coupes date night or GNO!

Yelp
Best Tex-Mex in Texas! Okay, I get it, everywhere in Texas has amazing Tex-Mex, but Blanco was our choice for our trip and it was an amazing night of amazing food. The queso, the margs everything was so good! Be careful here, leaving on a full stomach comes quick. The outdoor seating while enjoying margs made for a great night.

Yelp
Located in the Galleria, Blanco Cocina and Cantina is perfect for pre/post shopping. We split the Chopped Chicken Salad and the Tiger Shrimp Fajita. Both were flavorful. While the shrimp dish came with five large shrimp, they were deliciously prepared and accompanied by rice, beans, corn, and tomatoes. The salad was topped with the skinniest of shoestring sweet potato fries, and the quinoa and dressing made for a delicious combo. Quality Mexican food in a fun and lively setting.

Yelp
Just to start, the name listed on Yelp is deceiving because the storefront is Blanco - Tacos & Tequila. Hopefully you get that change to drive your customers to the correct place! Came here for date night. Super short wait for a Saturday evening. Plenty of space but still a small and intimate location. We sat in a booth along the side entry where you would come in from the galleria mall. Thankfully the mall was closed at the time so there wasn't much traffic coming and going past us. We started off with sangria and margaritas with the cheese crisps and all were highly recommended and very good. The cheese crisps definitely have a kick to them but if you like spicy, you will be just fine. I wasn't crazy hungry, came more for the drinks and to get out but we also had the street corn on the cop and some fish tacos (not pictured). My date enjoyed the corn so much! I have braces so I only had a couple and they were very good! The fish tacos though, YUMMY! With the cilantro green sauce for added flavor. Would definitely get again. Service was outstanding. Love the open front concept kitchen. Bathrooms were clean and so cute and it's a great date night spot. Would return.

Yelp
Wanted to love this place, but didn't. It was truly just "okay" especially compared to other TexMex restaurants in the area. Pros: Ambiance and vibe, along with decor. The place is cute. Service was good, not excellent, but definitely good. The drinks were our favorite part - happy hour margs and agua frescas are A+ and this saved the experience for us. Salsa was good too, served cold as opposed to the typical warm salsa you find in Houston. Cons: The "warm queso" comes out cold. Lacks flavor. The meat on top wasn't great either. Disappointing. The chimichanga also came out barely warm. I think the fajitas only came out hot because they are on a sizzling platter. Shrimp was a bit overcooked for my taste, but that may be just personal preference. They are a good size and had good flavor overall! The chimichanga was a bit disappointing, lots of dough, much less filling.. and again, the temperature made it seem not very fresh. Should have come out much hotter, especially because it was served well after I received my fajitas. Server wasn't super on top of chip/salsa and water refills, I appreciate that at a mexican place and while he was nice, he didn't come by too often. I'd say avoid if you're looking for great mexican in Houston, but if you need a happy hour marg and are in The Galleria, go for it and sit at the bar!

Yelp
In town for an Astros game and while walking the mall, hungry hits the kids. This place had amazing reviews so bee line! The atmosphere is relaxing and chill. Music was loud but still conversational. Started with skinny margaritas for the Monday speciWe ordered 3 bowls and an order of ground beef tacos. The skinny margarita is so good! And cute! Service was super fast and super nice!! Only thing that keeps this place from a 5 is no sweet tea (this is Tx), the chips/salsa were eh, and maybe a tad more meat in the bowls, otherwise LOVED this place!!

Yelp
New to Houston and found this spot on Yelp. It's located in the galleria. The interior is super cute and a nice after work spot to grab drinks. The elote was not like a typical elote. Like they tried to spice up the recipe When the recipe was fine as is. My chicken fajitas were good. Would not get nor recommend the rice. I'd return for a drink but not the food.

Yelp
Great venue and central location to meet my friends for a quick bite and very tasty drinks. The nachos appetizer was more than enough for group of three.

Yelp
This review is based a part of seven at dinner time. Pros: Food is great. Loved the shrimp fajita especially the grilled jalapeno. The appetizer was great. Great ambience. Cool place to have drinks and watch sports as well. Con's: Drinks took a long time to come out Not very generous on Salsa sauce. Our waiter was great but the rest of the waitstaff -- food runner, bus person, etc not so much. Not cheap, the Galleria tax .

Yelp
For starters, the chips and salsa are excellent. That is always a quick barometer check for the attention to detail of a Mexican restaurant. We came for drinks and appetizers and were very pleased. She had nachos and said they were the best restaurant nachos in memory. Housemade chips covered in refried black beans. The critical detail is that Blanco used *both* shredded cheese and melted queso. It's truly a game changer for the piled nachos. The guacamole was tasty. Not much more to say there. I asked for any extra salsas and they brought out a tomatillo sauce and ancho one. Both were excellent additions to the meal. The drinks were tasty, even though a bit pricey. Our waitress, Jazz, was amazing. She was both friendly and informative. She's an asset to the company.

Yelp
Love love this place! Their ceviche is amazing! The skinny margarita is most refreshing! Had the nachos with brisket, yummy!! Jose was the best! Looking forward to our next trip to Houston to dine at Blanco!

Yelp
Food was delicious and service attentive. They heeded my request for unsalted chips. Parking for free or valet out front or can park in the mall deck.

Yelp
If you're in the Houston Galleria area, try this gem restaurant, Blanco Cocina. They serve fresh food and delicious drinks. Hands down, Alex makes the best skinny margaritas. The restaurant manager, Jake make his rounds and delivers food to ensure customers happiness. Highly recommended.

Yelp
After a day of shopping I'm glad we bumped into blanco for dinner Sunday night. Have to admit the menu from the outside did not seem all too impressive, assuming it's another run of the mill Tex Mex place. But even though not a huge menu it had solid options (including a large selection of tequilas and drinks) Second thing to notice was the cool ambiance set with the decor of an upscale tropical Mexican restaurant. Service though, out of the park, Logan was attentive friendly and quick to get us anything we needed. Only room for improvement would be the portion sizes, had the tiger shrimp fajitas, would like to see the traditional rice as a side along with the beans, flour tortillas were ok, tiny bit of guac, which could be improved to push this into an easy 5 star Tex Mex place. Overall do recommend blanco, even if your not in the mall already for a good Tex Mex meal.

Yelp
Let me start first by saying the service was amazing. Kayla was our server & she was on top of it. She was fast and attentive. My food was good although they really didn't give me that much meat. My bf paid $25 for the fajita plate and this is what I got. I kind of expected more considering the price. Other then that everything else was great.

Yelp
Awesome food and drinks! They served chips and salsa once my friend and I sat down. The chips are fresh and crispy. The salsa was spicy and flavorful. We ordered the spicy mango ceviche for appetizer, grilled avocado taco (house made tortilla), and grilled shrimp taco (house made tortilla). Definitely had to have margaritas when we were here. We had the mango stand, and smashed strawberry & mandarin. The spicy mango ceviche was spicy and flavorful. The portion was perfect for two to share. The house made tacos were awesome. One big bite into the taco, different flavors were bursting inside my mouth. It was so good. The margaritas were great with the food. Just perfect. The alcohol was so good. I will definitely be back again for the great food and drinks!

Yelp
I really like this place. I think their spicy pineapple margaritas is one of the better cocktails in Houston. Almost every dish I've had has been good. The service is solid as well. The vibe is laid back tacos shop/ Tex-mex place.

Yelp
This place is super cute for date night, hanging out with your girls. The customer service is A1 and you definitely get good amount of food for what you pay for.

Yelp
Located on the first floor (Westheimer and Sage) side of the mall, this place isn't too hard to find. My wife and I came in for a casual Friday Date Night. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. The service here was excellent. Our waitress, Asia, took care of us and even made the perfect recommendations. We shared an order of the Carne Asada Fajita with an extra order of the veggies, guacamole, beans and cheese. While the portions look small, it's very filling and very tasty. The meat was nice and juicy, sizzling on the hot plate with the diced onions, bell peppers jalapeño and lime. After placing them onto the tortilla with all the trimmings it was a very satisfying savory taste. However if you added more of the sauce from the hot plate it became too salty, so don't get to "saucy". Anyway, we finished our date with the Flan. It was nice and soft, perfectly caramelized with an array of blackberries and strawberries, topped with a homemade vanilla bean whipping. I can definitely recommend this if you just want a delicious treat. Overall, this place was good. I will definitely come back to try other things on their menu.

Yelp
I went here for a Saturday date night. This restaurant is super cute and trendy. They have a gorgeous wall and pretty decorations. Off the bat, I was freezing cold though. I was uncomfortably cold the whole dinner and left earlier than I would've otherwise. They give you chips and red salsa. The salsa is pretty good, a little bit spicy but their chips are overly salted and cold. I did not enjoy the chips. We got the "warm queso". It was okay, flavor lacked a bit, was good enough for me to eat it. For drinks I ordered the frozen Paloma it's really good and I'd recommend it. I also got the coconut mojito and that I would not recommend, at all. For some reason it tasted like straight up lime juice, I sent it back and got another Paloma. For my main, I got cheese enchiladas. It comes with beans and rice. If you're from Texas you're probably well-versed in your tex-mex. It can go either one of two ways, really good or very disappointing. Safe to say this place was the latter. Their food is not good, overly salted wet rag taste and smell. Granted the portions were good, my food was hot and well plated but the food is not good enough for me to ever go back. They also didn't have pickled jalapeños. The flan was also okay. My server was Jazz. She's sweet and an awesome server, we requested a lot she was on it. The ambience is there. The music was radio pop music, which I don't prefer for a Mexican restaurant but that's fine. Their drinks are good but you could go somewhere else with good drinks AND good food!

Yelp
I enjoyed this place. Stopped in for lunch and had a roasted sweet potato bowl. Delicious. I loved the salsa and chips and the service was great. One of the better casual eating options in the gallaria. Cute place. Wish I would have been able to try a marg.

Yelp
A really nice place when staying or visiting the Galleria area. I was staying at the hotel. Ext door, short walk. Service was ok, maybe short of staff, but slow Food was very good and came out quickly. Portion size of the apps left a little bit to be desired. We ordered the ceviche. Margaritas were very tasty but overpriced. Go with the pitcher in a group. One of those places, hard to hear on a group setting.

Yelp
Good food, good service, nice ambiance. I think the rice they serve on the side is something special. Had the chicken pastor tacos with pineapple which was something I never had before and so delicious.

Yelp
Since I was in Houston for a business trip, I was in the mood to try some Mexican food while here. I'm glad I came here. Excellent, quick service, and the interior and overall vibe of the restaurant is quite cool. The tacos tasted fresh and delicious. I will say though that I found the prices just a tad bit on the higher side. That's just me, though. Otherwise, I'd eat here again.

Yelp
Had the queso with beef for appetizer and it was very good. I also had the combination plate and it was a large serving and delicious. The strawberry margarita was a bit of a disappointment- it was a muddled drink versus the traditional margarita. It was a bit spicy as well for some reason. The wait staff was average, nothing exceptional. Plenty of mall parking and valet available.

Yelp
This place is a great spot in the Galleria. The restaurant has a good chilled ambiance and it was perfect for our team meeting. The food was delicious - the chicken fajitas and enchiladas were great. One person in our party tried the chicken chimichanga and didn't think it was anything special.

Yelp
Let me start of by saying I saw this restaurant and bar through a page on Instagram and it was saved on our list for a couple weeks now. Finally the day came where we booked a reservation to finally check this place out and we were so excited to! All the pictures we saw were fantastic and reading other reviews I was expecting really good food. SERVICE: I want to be begin this with service because our server JAZZ was phenomenal!!! If the review was solely based on customer service I would give it 6 stars. She was so knowledgeable about every single thing on the menu and even helped us decide drinks that would fit our requests exactly. She was great with us. Got all of our orders right and out to us in a timely manner. The way she describes the dishes makes you really have a mental picture before you even get the food and it was almost exact to how she described it. If you do plan on going here I highly suggest asking for Jazz. She is great overall even with just engaging with you. As soon as we sat down and she came over to talk to us it felt like we already were friends before. She gives off a friendly and approachable energy so that was really nice to experience. FOOD: we got grilled shrimp tacos (wasn't able to get a picture), cheese enchiladas, and a burrito for our main course. I do have to say everything looked picture perfect when it arrived. Now the taste is something we need to discuss. Starting off the with the free chips and salsa they serve. The amount of salt that were on the chips just overpowered the salsa and the flavor of the chips. For it to balance out you had to drown the chip with salsa and that is something that should not need to be done. The black beans I got were also very salty as well. Overall the meals were good it was just the lack of measuring salt that ruined the taste of the meals for me personally. It may not be an all the time thing as you know there are different chefs that have different way to make it but when I went our meals were overpowered with salt that really took away the flavor of everything we ate. The rice was the best part for me about the meal. They have the best rice I have had in a long time. The rice was cooked perfectly and buttered. It was amazing. I would come back and get 2 sides of rice to sub the beans. I am personally not a fan of the texture of flan but the party I was with did let me know that the flan was good and the fruits complimented the dessert well! DRINKS: The first two drinks we ordered were really good. We got a frozen Paloma and the The Spicy Skinny. Those tasted really good! Very flavorful and yummy! Then we got a coconut mojito, I am not sure what happened but there was too much lime juice and it basically was just a sour drink to us. We were not a fan and had it returned and got a second Frozen Paloma as a replacement. They were happy to get it replaced so we were happy and grateful for that. AMBIANCE: The place is attached to the galleria with parking right in front. We were lucky enough to get it right in front of the restaurant but I know on a really busy night at the Galleria it might be tough to get parking right in front. Parking is free, there is also valet as well. When entering it is dim lighting so it sets almost a date night or night out with friends vibe. Not a fancy type of restaurant which is something we like. There is a cool led fixture in the middle back wall which compliments the atmosphere of the restaurant. CONCLUSION: I did enjoy my time at Blanco especially with the service that was given to us. Jazz saved the night honestly. I would love to come back another time to give it a second try to see if the over salting situation would be a one time thing so I can give a better review on the taste and quality of the food but until then this is a not recommend for me but as always it is my personal opinion and that it may not reflect the experience you have if you choose to go.

Yelp
I've been looking for thee Mexican spot, here it is. The fajitas were delicious! The meat was juicy and coated in its own unique sauce. The decor is very modern and the service was great. This place is attached to the Galleria, which is a pro & con. I will be back!

Yelp
I'm back home in LA, and I keep thinking about this place. It's such a vibe: margarita window with seats at the bar to watch the game; indoor-outdoor seating; attentive staff. All sort of options for alcohol: margaritas are delicious. Strong but unassuming so it sneaks up on you. Chips and salsa are good. I had the shrimp fajitas and it really was warming to my soul. Such a great place to go and hang with friends and have great conversation. Also valet is right now door at the galleria. We made a reservations but tons of walk ins popped up and were seated right away.

Yelp
Very chill environment. Went during happy hour and was pleased with all the food and drink items.
