We visited Montreal and decided to dine at Blandino Brasserie Italian restaurant, located in the Hilton Hotel on Decarie Blvd. Given its 4.1-star rating, we had high expectations for a great and delicious meal.
Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to those expectations. The restaurant had recently changed its menu, and the new options weren’t particularly appealing.
We ordered the Chicken Parmesan and Spaghetti with Pesto Sauce. While the pasta and sauce were flavorful and well-prepared, the chicken was cold in the middle, which was quite disappointing. It seemed as though it had been pre-cooked and improperly reheated.
On a positive note, the service was great. The waitress was friendly, responsive, and answered our questions about the menu. When we mentioned the issue with the Chicken Parmesan, they took it back to the kitchen and reheated it. However, by the time it was returned, the pasta had gone cold, making the overall meal less enjoyable.
At the end of our meal, we chose not to add a tip to the bill because of the food quality. The waitress asked if we were unhappy with the service. We made it clear that our dissatisfaction was solely with the food. So, we did tip the waitress in cash to thank her for the great service.
Having traveled to various countries and dined at many restaurants, this experience was one of the most disappointing ones. While the service was commendable, the food quality did not meet our expectations. We will not be returning and do not recommend this restaurant to others.
