Blank Street Coffee

It’s my favorite café to get matcha, especially their strawberry shortcake matcha. The service is always very friendly, and the ambiance is great too. Karen and Ramses are always so kind and welcoming!

This cute little coffee shop is a gem! The staff at Blank Street are some of the friendliest around—always quick with your drink and always smiling. Their pastries are delicious! I try not to order one of everything but in my head I am always like one of those, and one of those, etc… There's plenty of space to sit, whether you're working, meeting a friend, or just relaxing. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but not unreasonable for the quality and vibe. The place was very clean. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

Really nice spot to get coffee! I tried the Pistachio Latte and it was very very good. They have a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating and I wasn’t able to ask for the password but it looks like they did have wifi. Drinks came out on a reasonable amount of time despite the amount of people in the shop at the time. Great place.

Shoutout to Ramses and Ritsika!! The entire team so friendly and helpful in deciding what we should order. I always enjoy their matcha and am excited for their new winter flavors 👀 (great music too!!!)

Matcha is rich and flavorful, not sweetened (unless you ask of course), they don’t charge you extra for plant milk (HOORAY!), and honestly really fair pricing. The store has the vibe of an LA matcha store. The con is the veryyyy long line to get in.

This coffee shop was across the street from the hotel i was staying at and decided to try it out as i saw they had a few matcha options. I got the cookies and cream and the strawberry cake. Both of them were absolutely delicious.

Blank Street coffee is a great find in DC. Fast friendly service. Daniel, Maggie, Saskia and Kayla were awesome. Best artisanal drinks and sandwich’s ever. This is a cute little cafe and it was packed when I stopped by! I tried the strawberry shortcake matcha while the matcha flavor is subtle, the drink itself is delicious! If you are looking for authentic matcha drink, this might not be the best choice but if you want something fruity and refreshing, definitely give it a try! FYI the stawrberry shortcake matcha is a limited time flavor so not sure how long it will be available!

My recent visit to Blank Street Coffee offered a mixed but overall insightful experience. I tried two distinct drinks: the Rocky Road Latte and the Strawberry Shortcake Matcha. The Strawberry Shortcake Matcha was too sweet at 100% sugar; I recommend customizing sweetness to 50% or less for a better flavor. The Rocky Road Latte was grainy due to many nuts, so it's not recommended for those who prefer smooth drinks. The cafe itself was cute but very crowded during my pickup. In the future, I'll customize drink sweetness to 50% or less.

Got a rocky road latte and a strawberry shortcake matcha for pick up order through the Blank Street Coffee mobile app. The rocky road latte at 50% sweetness was still sweet. The strawberry shortcake matcha was extremely sweet. I don't think anyone should be drinking something like this in one sitting. As far as the flavors, both were massively disappointing. I would recommend the rocky road latte more than the strawberry shortcake one. Many businesses are so hyped up about matcha these days, but I don't think there are many placed that make matcha right. They both tasted very artificial. The service was quick and pick up was easy. It was quite busy inside when I went on a Sunday. Small space with limited seating as it is more meant for pick up and go.

The cookies and cream matcha latte is SUCH A TREAT. It tastes like a milkshake but still has that earthy matcha flavor, and it already comes with oat milk! I could get this a million times and never get sick of it.

Cannot believe they have a Blank Street here! So many sweet matcha drinks and it's very minimal in terms of cafe style. Good matcha drinks (although keep in mind that they are pretty sweet). Great location for catching up with friends and plenty of space to do work. My favorite is the strawberry shortcake, but make sure to mix it up consistently as the syrup tends to clump together. Nice staff and very busy!

Yum! Simple but delicious. My first strawberry latte and you can't go wrong. Aesthetic and reasonably priced. Left me wishing we had a Blank Street at home.

I love blank street's marchas and their strawberry shortcake matcha is no exception. I don't know how but it tastes so much like the strawberry shortcake dessert. It's creamy, fruity and sweet. A perfect drink for a warm spring day!

I've visited this spot once before and really enjoyed the drink I had, but unfortunately, the location near my job closed. Recently, I saw the viral Strawberries & Cream Matcha on TikTok and knew I had to try it for myself. When I stopped by this location--connected to a hotel--I found out they were out of matcha, so I went with the Strawberries & Cream Latte instead. Honestly, I wasn't disappointed at all! The latte was delicious, and I'd give it a solid 8 out of 10. The service was great, and I appreciated that there were tables and seating available if you wanted to hang out or get some work done. I'll definitely be back soon to try the matcha!

I needed an afternoon pick me up. Stopped by to try their strawberry shortcake matcha. I agree with the other reviews that the matcha is not very strong, but the drink is delicious. Service was great. Good amount of seating to get some work done.

This place is soo busy and understandably so. One of the best matcha places I have had. I got the blueberry matcha and my friend got the Strawberry Shortcake matcha...both were amazing. the strawberry one was more on the sweeter side, blueberry was a subtle taste in a good way. good balance between blueberry and matcha

You gotta love a Blank Street Matcha! This West End location is the perfect place to catch up with a friend or get some work done. Beautiful, clean and a good amount of seating considering the size of the store. My friend and I got the Banana Bread and Blueberry matchas - both bursting with flavor and blended perfectly. The matcha is smooth and does not loose its original taste to the flavoring. So unique and aesthetically pleasing! The service was speedy and very welcoming. Will definitely be back to try a new latte or iced matcha!

They wouldn't even allow me to order anything because they stopped taking orders at the person in front of me. There were pastries left (as you can see) and so many drinks (milk, coffee, matcha) were left too. It's not sold out and the door isn't closed when it closes at 6pm. I arrived around 5:48pm. Fake news and terrible service.

We came here for the Banana Bread Matcha. The small location was crowded; however, we found a small side table along the side wall to enjoy our beverage before going to our next destination. Though crowded, the ordering process was easy. Since we learned about this drink on social media, we sought the staff member's opinion about the drink. He highly recommended it. Just when I thought matcha could not get any better, this drink proved me wrong. After we ordered, we waited for our drinks to be ready. This was one of the best matcha drinks that I have tasted thus far. The banana flavor masked the matcha's bitterness, but in a good way. The beverage was limited edition, so fortunately we tried it before the season ended.

The hours on Yelp said would be open at 7 am. I went by at 7:30 am on a Friday morning. Not open. Other coffee places like the bakery next door was open so ended up going there. Not sure why if pure coffee place isn't open in the morning.

Blank street gave a pick me up. It's been a long day and I need my coffee. This small place is cute. The iced americano hit the spot. Double shot of espresso over ice. The expresso was rich and flavorful. The staff are outgoing and friendly.

The coffee here was great. The space itself is definitely made for you to take your drinks to go... There's not really any place to sit down. The baristas were extremely friendly, and they even complimented me on my earrings which gave me an extra little pep in my step. Pricing is standard.

I really only come to Blank Street for the special/seasonal flavors, not necessarily because the coffee or matcha stands out. The shop has a decent amount of seating inside and two small tables outside. The baristas are always friendly and will answer any questions you have patiently. I've had the strawberries and cream latte, which was perfectly sweet and all the flavors complemented each other well. More recently, I tried the banana bread matcha and it's an absolute 10/10. It has all the key flavors of banana bread and the matcha they use is a nice base for all their specialty flavors as it's not too strong. I love the creativity with these different flavors and would recommend Blank Street for those!

Great matcha! Can be busy during peak hours. Matcha isn't too sweet and has great flavour. Staff is kind and helpful. Space is small so can get crowded

Stopped by this location for a desperately needed matcha and they didn't disappoint! I got the blueberry matcha and while it was a tad too sweet for me, my friend loved it. I also tried a sip of their strawberries and cream latte, and that was absolutely delicious. I found this to be the perfect level of sweetness without overpowering the espresso. Bonus points as well since they made 2 free matchas! While it's not the best matcha I've ever had, it certainly hit the spot. Inside, it's rather small, but the seating is nicely spaced out and it looks like a great spot to do a bit of light work (several people had their laptops out). They also have some outdoor seating as well, and given the beautiful weather today, I sat outside to enjoy the sunshine. The tables are the cutest shade of green. Overall, it's nice.

If you like sullen, almost rude order takers, in correct coffee orders and probably day old croissants you have found your kind of place. Walked in, no other customers and 2 people working behind the counter. Stood behind the register and she just continued to play with it. Never look d up or acknowledged us with a 'Be right with you' smile. Ordered 2 coffees, one regular and one light. The light order came almost black. Had to go back to ask for more cream. No napkins in sight and no sugars on the counter. NO TIP.

I understand that they were busy. Staff was too busy and missed my order. Not even a small apology or seemed to care that I waited over 30 minutes for my order...

I rarely have issues here but today they really messed up my matcha order and it's kind of disappointing since the strawberry shortcake matcha is good when made right. I did see her make the mistake of prepping a small and then she corrected by putting it into a bigger cup but then I realized after I left she just filled the rest of the cup with oat milk so now I'm drinking oat milk with a hint of matcha and zero strawberry taste. Sad.

The cutest little local coffee shop caught my eye because it was tucked away and had a welcome vibe. We stopped in to try something new and were not disappointed. The daydream latte was divine with notes of cinnamon and honey. Service was 100% awesome from a very friendly barista who is a student at Georgetown. She was patient as explains the menu as she could tell we have never visited. Would definitely visit again when shopping in the city!

Ordered the egg white wrap with turkey, spinach, and pepper-jack cheese via DoorDash and it was phenomenal. Whoever is assembling the wraps today please keep them! Give them a raise at that. The strawberry and crème latte is also delicious.

Great space and great staff. Staying at the local Hilton District and we had espresso and lattes here every morning. Adjacent to a nice hotel lobby and inside there is ample light and seating. Will definitely visit again!

REVIEW FOR 14th ST LOCATION: A $7 coffee that is 1/3 foam is laughable. Very disappointed in quality. I understand the price of coffee in dc is high but the least you can do is make it respectfully. Also 1 guy working on a Sunday morning?

This is a very cozy hole-in-the-wall coffee shop that is hard to spot from the street. That being said, I was super glad to have found it. Their coffee actually tastes good and not acidic like other chains. They have a small menu that focuses on some classics and just a handful of specialty drinks. Everything I've tried has been excellent, and is far more affordable than what you'd pay for inferior beverages at most other shops in the city. Big plus that the baristas provide great service too! Also, they have a really exceptional "Regulars" program that actually provides you with crazy value... if you're lucky enough to get off the waitlist for it! Glad to call this my new go-to spot for caffeine.
