Really nice spot to get coffee! I tried the Pistachio Latte and it was very very good. They have a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating and I wasn’t able to ask for the password but it looks like they did have wifi. Drinks came out on a reasonable amount of time despite the amount of people in the shop at the time. Great place.

Matcha is rich and flavorful, not sweetened (unless you ask of course), they don’t charge you extra for plant milk (HOORAY!), and honestly really fair pricing. The store has the vibe of an LA matcha store. The con is the veryyyy long line to get in.

It’s my favorite café to get matcha, especially their strawberry shortcake matcha. The service is always very friendly, and the ambiance is great too. Karen and Ramses are always so kind and welcoming!

This cute little coffee shop is a gem! The staff at Blank Street are some of the friendliest around—always quick with your drink and always smiling. Their pastries are delicious! I try not to order one of everything but in my head I am always like one of those, and one of those, etc… There's plenty of space to sit, whether you're working, meeting a friend, or just relaxing. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but not unreasonable for the quality and vibe. The place was very clean. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

A great spot with excellent coffee and friendly staff! I spent an entire day working here and thoroughly enjoyed the cozy and welcoming atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to get things done or just relax with a good cup of coffee. Highly recommended!

I absolutely love blank street. Honestly made a day trip to DC because I was craving their matcha. They always have the best specialty / seasonal flavors. I ordered the banana bread matcha with oat milk because I had heard good things and it was delicious! I'm not a chugger usually but this matcha was gone in a blink. The line was not super long when I went and the cashier was friendly and fast with taking my order. The matcha is on the sweeter side, so if you like that it's perfect for you. One thing though is the more I drank the matcha, the less flavor it had - which may be attributed to the ice melting or my taste buds just getting used to the flavor haha. Still good though! Seating inside is limited but there were some people studying and chatting. It is a little cramped and loud so I wouldn't recommend studying here but a coffee hangout would be cute here!

I am a huge matcha snob and ever since I've started to make my own matcha from home, I'm extremely picky when it comes to ordering matcha. I've heard blank street was the best matcha in the DMV, and so I went to go try it! Unfortunately, I was super disappointed. If this is how matcha tastes in the DMV I am speechless. The matcha itself is batched (which is fine if taken care of properly... meaning that it should be sitting in a bucket of ice). Same with all the other milks that were sitting on the counter. I understand if you go through milk quickly, but it was a but off putting seeing both the matcha and milk just resting on the counter even when it was slow when I went. The flavor of drinks were so overwhelming with artificial taste. I got the banana matcha and a carrot cake matcha. All I could taste was artificial vanilla and cinnamon. There was no matcha flavor at all. They also didn't have a matcha latte option that wasn't over glorified with artificial flavors! I wish that there was just a regular matcha latte I could have enjoyed where I was able to taste the matcha and wasn't a vanilla milk sugary drink. When you order it is also defaulted at 100% sweeteness which is ridiculously sweet. Should have option to adjust or they should ask if that's okay.

Other reviews mentioned that the servers here are no nonsense - and they're quite right. Don't expect a warm or friendly greeting or order intake. Baristas are efficient (though sometimes not very accurate). They made me a matcha instead of an iced coffee and had to remake it. I had an iced daydream latte with whole milk and it was fine. Chocolate croissant was good but I don't think they're made in house.

I come here with my coworkers about once a week since it's a short walk from our office. Blank Street's matcha is the perfect afternoon treat to get me through the afternoon. I enjoy trying their new seasonal flavors, but me and my friends' go-to is the strawberry shortcake matcha. It is divine! I will say that sometimes the drinks are hit or miss based on who's working that day--we can usually tell when someone is new. Drinks are on the pricier side but I look forward to getting them so much that the price doesn't matter to me. I tried the Banana Bread matcha that launched yesterday, and was pretty disappointed with it, I didn't taste banana at all. Will be back soon to try the carrot cake matcha!

The service was okay. Two employees walked by the register, looked at me, ignored me, and went to the back. One of them came back and took my order. The interior is small and the trash was overflowing at the door. I ordered an iced pistachio latte with no opportunity to select my milk preference. The beverage had no pistachio taste. It was just an iced coffee. So many better coffee shops options in DC, you gotta stand out.

Salted pistachio matcha was delicioussss. Perfect amount of sweet but not overbearing. I usually go for classic matches because the seasonal flavors are a lot but this was perfect. I would absolutely recommend and get it again This location is cozy, small and tucked away. The service was fast for a weekend and we were in and out in no time

Got a rocky road latte and a strawberry shortcake matcha for pick up order through the Blank Street Coffee mobile app. The rocky road latte at 50% sweetness was still sweet. The strawberry shortcake matcha was extremely sweet. I don't think anyone should be drinking something like this in one sitting. As far as the flavors, both were massively disappointing. I would recommend the rocky road latte more than the strawberry shortcake one. Many businesses are so hyped up about matcha these days, but I don't think there are many placed that make matcha right. They both tasted very artificial. The service was quick and pick up was easy. It was quite busy inside when I went on a Sunday. Small space with limited seating as it is more meant for pick up and go.

This was my first time visiting a Blank Street Coffee. First thing I noticed was that the music was slappin'. Rhianna was playing, convos flowing and the smell of coffee made this place catch my interest as soon as I walked in. Listen-the Daydream Latte is the way to go! It is absolutely delicious. I wish there was a Blank Street location closer to me. Until then, I have to figure out how to semi-replicate this latte. It's full of flavor. The cinnamon adds a nice touch. I loved the latte so much I had ti let the barista know.

I tried their carrot cake matcha and blueberry matcha but I've had better to be honest... the flavor is very subtle that it mainly tasted like milk. Not sure if it was cause it was super busy and the quality wasn't the best but I would've thought the hype would be real. There is also an app to order ahead and it seemed user friendly.

This is a cute little cafe and it was packed when I stopped by! I tried the strawberry shortcake matcha while the matcha flavor is subtle, the drink itself is delicious! If you are looking for authentic matcha drink, this might not be the best choice but if you want something fruity and refreshing, definitely give it a try! FYI the stawrberry shortcake matcha is a limited time flavor so not sure how long it will be available!

This inside was cute with a great location but the Matcha tasted like milk. I was very disappointed... I expected so much more. The service was good and they were nice and patient but sadly as a true matcha drinker I can't say that I'll be back.

I stopped by last week in the afternoon to do some work at a cafe. Initially, I wasn't sure if there would be a lot of space since it's on/close to GW campus, but it turned out to not be an issue in the summer. The interior, in general, was pretty minimal with a few small tables, one large communal table and some sofa seating. ICED DAYDREAM LATTE (SMALL) - 5.50 This is their signature latte with vanilla bean, honey, and cinnamon syrup mixed with milk and an espresso shot. I thought it was a bit too sweet for me and slightly artificial. I didn't end up finishing it, but it was alright to sip on occasionally while I was getting work done. Overall, the latte was OK, and I would get something else if I returned.

The cookies and cream matcha latte is SUCH A TREAT. It tastes like a milkshake but still has that earthy matcha flavor, and it already comes with oat milk! I could get this a million times and never get sick of it.

My recent visit to Blank Street Coffee offered a mixed but overall insightful experience. I tried two distinct drinks: the Rocky Road Latte and the Strawberry Shortcake Matcha. The Strawberry Shortcake Matcha was too sweet at 100% sugar; I recommend customizing sweetness to 50% or less for a better flavor. The Rocky Road Latte was grainy due to many nuts, so it's not recommended for those who prefer smooth drinks. The cafe itself was cute but very crowded during my pickup. In the future, I'll customize drink sweetness to 50% or less.

Cannot believe they have a Blank Street here! So many sweet matcha drinks and it's very minimal in terms of cafe style. Good matcha drinks (although keep in mind that they are pretty sweet). Great location for catching up with friends and plenty of space to do work. My favorite is the strawberry shortcake, but make sure to mix it up consistently as the syrup tends to clump together. Nice staff and very busy!

I went to Blank Street for a quick drink after an appointment nearby. I've heard great things about their matcha but I had to try it myself. I ordered the Iced Daydream Matcha, which is honey and cinnamon syrup with oat milk and Ceremonial Matcha over ice. I loved this drink! The syrup and oat milk gave the drink a cereal milk type of flavor which paired well with the bitterness of the matcha. I wish there was a Blank Street a little closer to me so I could go more frequently.

I love blank street's marchas and their strawberry shortcake matcha is no exception. I don't know how but it tastes so much like the strawberry shortcake dessert. It's creamy, fruity and sweet. A perfect drink for a warm spring day!

You gotta love a Blank Street Matcha! This West End location is the perfect place to catch up with a friend or get some work done. Beautiful, clean and a good amount of seating considering the size of the store. My friend and I got the Banana Bread and Blueberry matchas - both bursting with flavor and blended perfectly. The matcha is smooth and does not loose its original taste to the flavoring. So unique and aesthetically pleasing! The service was speedy and very welcoming. Will definitely be back to try a new latte or iced matcha!

I've visited this spot once before and really enjoyed the drink I had, but unfortunately, the location near my job closed. Recently, I saw the viral Strawberries & Cream Matcha on TikTok and knew I had to try it for myself. When I stopped by this location--connected to a hotel--I found out they were out of matcha, so I went with the Strawberries & Cream Latte instead. Honestly, I wasn't disappointed at all! The latte was delicious, and I'd give it a solid 8 out of 10. The service was great, and I appreciated that there were tables and seating available if you wanted to hang out or get some work done. I'll definitely be back soon to try the matcha!

This place is soo busy and understandably so. One of the best matcha places I have had. I got the blueberry matcha and my friend got the Strawberry Shortcake matcha...both were amazing. the strawberry one was more on the sweeter side, blueberry was a subtle taste in a good way. good balance between blueberry and matcha

We came here for the Banana Bread Matcha. The small location was crowded; however, we found a small side table along the side wall to enjoy our beverage before going to our next destination. Though crowded, the ordering process was easy. Since we learned about this drink on social media, we sought the staff member's opinion about the drink. He highly recommended it. Just when I thought matcha could not get any better, this drink proved me wrong. After we ordered, we waited for our drinks to be ready. This was one of the best matcha drinks that I have tasted thus far. The banana flavor masked the matcha's bitterness, but in a good way. The beverage was limited edition, so fortunately we tried it before the season ended.

saw everyone & their mother with a matcha with from blank street - it's was good but nothing to wait in a long line for (no line at this location when i went). they change their offerings seasonal for both matcha + espresso, i got the strawberry shortcake which seems to be an evergreen offer. it was sweet & delicious!

The hours on Yelp said would be open at 7 am. I went by at 7:30 am on a Friday morning. Not open. Other coffee places like the bakery next door was open so ended up going there. Not sure why if pure coffee place isn't open in the morning.

I needed an afternoon pick me up. Stopped by to try their strawberry shortcake matcha. I agree with the other reviews that the matcha is not very strong, but the drink is delicious. Service was great. Good amount of seating to get some work done.

The coffee here was great. The space itself is definitely made for you to take your drinks to go... There's not really any place to sit down. The baristas were extremely friendly, and they even complimented me on my earrings which gave me an extra little pep in my step. Pricing is standard.

I prefer light roast coffee and there does not appear to be a local roaster in this area. Many places have their house brands but roasting is not on site. I found Blank Street drip coffee to be the best of the bunch.

I really only come to Blank Street for the special/seasonal flavors, not necessarily because the coffee or matcha stands out. The shop has a decent amount of seating inside and two small tables outside. The baristas are always friendly and will answer any questions you have patiently. I've had the strawberries and cream latte, which was perfectly sweet and all the flavors complemented each other well. More recently, I tried the banana bread matcha and it's an absolute 10/10. It has all the key flavors of banana bread and the matcha they use is a nice base for all their specialty flavors as it's not too strong. I love the creativity with these different flavors and would recommend Blank Street for those!

Great coffee, TERRIBLE service. There is ALWAYS a long line despite the plethora of baristas who seem to just aimlessly stand around. Save yourself the headache Starbucks is 3 blocks away on 24th & M. I hate writing negative reviews but something's got to give. There's a reason why they don't have google reviews. I had to create an account to write this one. Do better blank street. Hire people who operate with a sense of urgency. May I suggest your employees drink some coffee because they move like they need some.

Cozy, little place next to Hyatt, makes it convenient! The food is average, service is good and fast!

Stopped by this location for a desperately needed matcha and they didn't disappoint! I got the blueberry matcha and while it was a tad too sweet for me, my friend loved it. I also tried a sip of their strawberries and cream latte, and that was absolutely delicious. I found this to be the perfect level of sweetness without overpowering the espresso. Bonus points as well since they made 2 free matchas! While it's not the best matcha I've ever had, it certainly hit the spot. Inside, it's rather small, but the seating is nicely spaced out and it looks like a great spot to do a bit of light work (several people had their laptops out). They also have some outdoor seating as well, and given the beautiful weather today, I sat outside to enjoy the sunshine. The tables are the cutest shade of green. Overall, it's nice.

They wouldn't even allow me to order anything because they stopped taking orders at the person in front of me. There were pastries left (as you can see) and so many drinks (milk, coffee, matcha) were left too. It's not sold out and the door isn't closed when it closes at 6pm. I arrived around 5:48pm. Fake news and terrible service.

When I was waiting for my drinks one of their employees took out their trash where they prepare and make the drinks. This is gross on so many levels. First, the girl couldn't get the bag out so she asked for help. Three different employees touched the trash and trash bag in between making drinks for costumers. And then proceeded to continue making drinks without washing their hands!! This is a direct violation of health code. According to working in food and the CDC that can spread food borne illness. That same employee's underwear was also showing the entire time she was working. I prefer not to see people's undergarments while I'm getting food or drinks. Why did I have time to see all of this? Because they also forgot to make my two drinks. And I waited 30 minutes for one matcha and one daydream latte. When I reminded them it took them under a minute to give me the drink. Which confirms they forgot to make the drink. However, they showed me the ticket was right there by the barista. The employees were unkind, rude, and did not care about their costumers. The two drinks I received were good. I liked the latte better than the matcha. I would not return to this store due to the unsanitary habits and clear violation of health code.

Blank street gave a pick me up. It's been a long day and I need my coffee. This small place is cute. The iced americano hit the spot. Double shot of espresso over ice. The expresso was rich and flavorful. The staff are outgoing and friendly.

drink was great, employees were rude both days i went and it was the same two girls. one of them didnt greet me, didnt ask what id like, nothing. Just stared at me and after i ordered she didnt say a word just walked away. they also turned people out at around 4:50 the first day and the second day i got there at around 4:45 and the doors were locked and the side was open so i went it and asked if i could order and they said they were closed so i showed that it says they are actually open until 5 and there was 15 more minutes and she said we are closed. Highly disappointed in the staff.

If you like sullen, almost rude order takers, in correct coffee orders and probably day old croissants you have found your kind of place. Walked in, no other customers and 2 people working behind the counter. Stood behind the register and she just continued to play with it. Never look d up or acknowledged us with a 'Be right with you' smile. Ordered 2 coffees, one regular and one light. The light order came almost black. Had to go back to ask for more cream. No napkins in sight and no sugars on the counter. NO TIP.

I understand that they were busy. Staff was too busy and missed my order. Not even a small apology or seemed to care that I waited over 30 minutes for my order...

I rarely have issues here but today they really messed up my matcha order and it's kind of disappointing since the strawberry shortcake matcha is good when made right. I did see her make the mistake of prepping a small and then she corrected by putting it into a bigger cup but then I realized after I left she just filled the rest of the cup with oat milk so now I'm drinking oat milk with a hint of matcha and zero strawberry taste. Sad.

The cutest little local coffee shop caught my eye because it was tucked away and had a welcome vibe. We stopped in to try something new and were not disappointed. The daydream latte was divine with notes of cinnamon and honey. Service was 100% awesome from a very friendly barista who is a student at Georgetown. She was patient as explains the menu as she could tell we have never visited. Would definitely visit again when shopping in the city!

Great space and great staff. Staying at the local Hilton District and we had espresso and lattes here every morning. Adjacent to a nice hotel lobby and inside there is ample light and seating. Will definitely visit again!

REVIEW FOR 14th ST LOCATION: A $7 coffee that is 1/3 foam is laughable. Very disappointed in quality. I understand the price of coffee in dc is high but the least you can do is make it respectfully. Also 1 guy working on a Sunday morning?

This is a very cozy hole-in-the-wall coffee shop that is hard to spot from the street. That being said, I was super glad to have found it. Their coffee actually tastes good and not acidic like other chains. They have a small menu that focuses on some classics and just a handful of specialty drinks. Everything I've tried has been excellent, and is far more affordable than what you'd pay for inferior beverages at most other shops in the city. Big plus that the baristas provide great service too! Also, they have a really exceptional "Regulars" program that actually provides you with crazy value... if you're lucky enough to get off the waitlist for it! Glad to call this my new go-to spot for caffeine.
