Blankita Review - Tottenham - London - The Infatuation

"Blankita is a bustling hub on the corner of Seven Sisters serving home-cooked Colombian food that’s as warming in winter as it is satisfying in summer. Stews, soups, frijoles, and empanadas are all on the menu and it’s virtually impossible to leave the easygoing indoor-outdoor setup without lazily rubbing your stomach. Grilled steak or pork with rice and plantain is a standard, but beef tongue is one of the standout dishes. Blankita’s version is covered in a fruity and mildly spiced yellow sauce, slowly cooked with stodgy and starchy potatoes, and sweet onions in there as well. The star, though, is the meat. A careless whisper could break the pink strands down and a mouthful alongside rice, plantain, and a dollop of Blankita’s sharp red chilli salsa will have you humming with happiness." - Jake Missing

This place is delish fresh tasty, large portions , really good price. I go every week for sancocho the tangy soup with slow cooked beef and plantain cassava and potatoes. It’s the best in the area!

This restaurant provides a satisfying dining experience. The interior is clean and tastefully decorated. Food is served hot and well presented. Portion sizes are generous and filling. The staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable for the quality offered. Overall it’s a good choice for dining out.

Words can’t really express how much I love and appreciate this restaurant. I lived in the area for four years now and this is without a doubt my favourite place to eat in the whole city. Either you’re passing by or you have time to stop, La Blankita is always ready to offer the best homemade soup you can find in London and from an Italian point of view that says a lot! The SANCOCHO is now a threat for me, a self love dish that I love to enjoy from time to time and it never disappoints. It’s the closest thing to a mama’s soup that you’ll find and it’s warmer enough to fill up your heart as well as your tummy. The personal there is lovely, you can see the passion for food and costumer service in their smiles which is something that can never be underestimated. I wish to give a big round of applause for this amazing place!

We went in just after noon on a Saturday. A few friends were hoping to have the breakfast so when we found out it had just stopped we decided to go elsewhere. However, they kindly said they would do the breakfast for us. I had the menu del dia. A few items weren't available. Regardless, the food was tasty! Big portions, fair price. My main came before my starter but otherwise the service was good and I'll definitely be returning.

A no thrills restaurant but what felt like a genuine taste of Colombia. Had a meal combo starting with an amazing fish soup. My friends had the seafood soup, also nice but I personally preferred the fish (salmon) soup (just a matter of personal taste). The soup comes in quite a big bowl, so go with an empty stomach! Followed by a main meal of rice, grilled meat of your choice, fried plantain, a very small helping of salad and home-made sugar cane juice or drink of choice. Background Colombian music and Colombian customers are regular (a good sign). It's not an area that would come to mind when considering where to eat, but I was invited by friends, and I am glad I went. A nice little find. Customer service came with limited English today. I'm not sure if it is always like that (but we had a Spanish speaking friend, which helped). However, the menu is self-explanatory, and all allergy info was available on the wall. It's definitely worth a visit. Customer service is not too bad (not friendly or unfriendly). They were keen for us to leave once we finished eating and originally wanted the 3 of us to sit on a small table for two, but we stood our ground and overcame any resistance and enjoyed our experience overall. Combo is around £14 each. Not bad at all! It is not a Michelin style meal but definitely not a disappointment. I really enjoyed.

Extraordinary service, delicious food. We'll definitely try to come back. Was a shame not to have more time to enjoy the location on our way back to Stansted.

It was my first time there and although I enjoyed the food Service was rather slow and it appeared that a table got served before the table I was on and they had arrived later
