Been going to this place for years, and will continue to do so every year. It’s a great trip and activity to do with your workers, family or friends. The staff is extremely helpful and nice which made everything go smoothly for myself and my team. We already look forward to retuning back, and some of our youth workers will be returning on their own just because of how much fun we all had

It was wonderful. The experience was interesting at first because one of the employees at the front does not have a personality that is pleasant. In fact the way I saw her engaging with one family was so disturbing that I stepped in to pay for the small bikes for the two young children. However, the employee by the name of Dyshey Smiley is beyond amazing. If the administration has any understanding of good business they will make sure that Dyshey is in a position of leader ship so that she can train the other employees on how to engage with customers to ensure the best possible experience. She is simply magnificent!

My friends and I rented one surrey and two duo pedal cars. This was so fun! We enjoyed racing around the island. It's a great workout. Did a “6” person surrey w 3 adults and 1 kid, was a fun way to see the island. We weren’t in great biking shape but still got around ok 👍. Easy check in and check out, nice staff.

I enjoyed biking around Governor's Island. However, the bike I was provided was well worn and shortly due for the scrap yard. When I made my reservation I wasn't given the two hour option, and was required to book for an entire day.

We rented a trolley for 2. Rusty chain and really slow. We had to get out and walk with it to be able to reach the place back and return it on time to only pay for half an hour. And the person in charge was thinking about charging us 1 hour because we were over for 1 minute. 🤨 Not the first time we rented here, but it'll be the last.

The people here are the nicest around! Everyone was super helpful, we got nice cruisers and enjoyed the path around the island. The cruiser is free for an hour 9-12 on weekdays during this season. Above and beyond friendly folks working here!

Great place in the island to rent the surrey for an hour

Considering that they are the only bike rental shop on Governor's Island (other than Citi Bike), I thought the staff was very friendly, helpful and the bikes were pretty well maintained. Very large selection of bikes and they also offer helmets. Regular bikes come with a 3 gear shift and a basket in front. I was excited to learn that I could come here and bike all day if I wanted to, without having to run into people on their cell phones all the time! Definitely looking forward to coming back again.

Its a lot of fun coming to governors island for biking since there are no car traffic, you can bring your own, hop on the ferry or rent one here. Its about $20 per bike per hour I believe, you can also get other type such as those family trolley which is actually ALOT of work since you can't just glide and need to be constantly peddling, good thing we didn't get it :P there are also those go kart looking ones which is the same since you have to keep peddling. The staffs were friendly and helpful, we came early so there weren't much line, when we returned it it was BUSY.

Ok, while I understand the service that they provide for the island and yes, this is a luxury one could easily skip there are a few issues I had. The price is OUTRAGEOUS. $50/hour for a large surrey, with other prices coming out around 60, 40,30 per hour! That is complete robbery right there. Getting past the prices please be aware that they charge a fee for not using cash which they do not disclose well. There is also tax included so the price you are charged will be more than what they tell you upfront. They also round UP time if you happen to return earlier. i.e. I returned my bikes about 8 minutes early as noted on my return slip and was charged the full hour. That isn't a problem in and of itself but what do they do if one were to be a few minutes late? What about if the late return is due to a long line at the return station as could happen in the late afternoon? Perhaps someone can comment on this. The company makes no mention of a policy of time forgiveness.

I had a great experience renting a Small Surrey carriage to tour Governors Island. The Island is small so even though we didn't know how long we'd have the rental for, we had already seen everything we wanted to see by the time our time was approaching the 1 hour mark. When we were picking up the carriage they explained the charges accrue either by the half hour or hour, and told us the rates. They were totally fair and accurate with pricing and marking the time of our rental. Plus everyone working there was extremely nice and friendly, I was really impressed with their customer service. The carriage was very comfortable, and we were even able to fit our 45 lbs dog in the front basket. 100% recommend doing this if you do not bring your own bike to Governors Island. I should also add that I do not know how to ride a bicycle and I was able to peddle the surrey carriage with no problems.

This was my first time dealing with Blazing Saddles. It was a Saturday at 9am. Everyone there seemed pleasant and helpful. I was the only customer but by the looks of it, they got busier as the day went on especially with the surreys. I paid $21 cash for the 3 speed bicycle and was given a tag that is to be returned along with the bike. I chose them over Citi Bike because their bikes are of better quality plus there's no fear that the main docking station near the pier is going to be full. The bike ran smoothly and survived the crumbling road on the east side of the island.

Best way to get around the island is most definitely by riding a bike. You will get a good workout in by riding up hills and making those turns! They have a single seater all the way up to a 4 seater, everyone basically can get in on the fun.

Iman! You are the best! Everyone at the Governors island location were so nice and friendly. Man, I really appreciate how great the employees are here and I hope they get lots of credit for how fast and friendly each one of them are, I wish I had a business so I could steal all of these employees away! Biking is the best way to enjoy Governors Island!

Blazing saddles is a rip off. They offer a free hour on weekdays, but didn't tell us that if you go over the one hour they don't give you a free hour. So essentially we paid $40 for 30 minutes of riding. They need to be more transparent with their pricing. We even spoke with the manager and he said "well, that's a lesson for all of us." That's the worst customer service I've seen from a manager. We're paying cash, so you can do what works best. Just use the citibikes on the island instead. Blazing saddles isn't worth your time. The bikes were rusted out anyway.

Great place to rent bikes on Governor's Island. Also the only place. The staff were friendly and helpful. They have a large selection of bikes including surveys. Riding a bike around the island is a great way to see everything.

We did not have a good experience. First they used two of my credit cards claiming problems with both. They tyen ended up writing my cc down "later ". In the end I was charged on both credit cards and not sure about the state of my now written down credit card number in their records. Second, one of our bikes got a flat tire half way in to the ride. My wife rode ahead to tell the stand at 39th street where she was subsequently told rudely "call the number on the brochure thats why.we gave you one". When I called the number, the office told me that there was no way.for.them to come get the bike and.I should just walk it the 15 blocks to the 39th street stand. Back at the stand they would not credit any money. Saying that they had 3 tire repairs that day and they have to charge what they charge. Its too bad since it was a nice bike ride on comfortable bikes but the customer experience was not satisfactory.

The staff were so adorable and helpful. I love the cold water sales, the sweet Irish accents of the kids, and the primo bikes. They're the best i've ever cruised. Can't wait to go back for another fun afternoon

Me and my girl had an excellent day out with the blazing saddles bikes. Bikes were good quality, moderate pricing and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Especially Bryan was great and helped us both before and after the rental to get the paperwork done. Would recommend anyone looking for a great day out and exploring NYC from a different perspective to go for Blazing Saddles!

Great bikes but poor service. Also when crowded, the staff gives confusing information. Even though the bikes are free for one hour from 10 - 12. They charge you for insurance unless you mark 'No' on the box. Staff did not tell anyone so this can be where they make their money during the free time. Be careful.
