Bled Castle

At the very top, there is a restaurant that was packed with people (there were more people there than in the fortress itself). The fortress is easily accessible by car, and parking is charged.

When you first see the castle it looks quite magnificent standing on top of the rocky hill. You have a small hike with nice viewpoints and you get to the top. The castle itself doesn't have anything worth mentioning, the view is pretty and that's it. You have parking in front of the castle so you can reach it with a car also. Seems like they have medieval festival in May here so maybe then it would be better. Definitely wouldn't visit again, over priced for what it has to offer, a bit disappointed.

The view on the lake from the terrace is stunning! You have to climb 20 min from the town to the castle or go by a car, but it's worth it. The food in the restaurant is interesting, different. It's not a place where you go to a full tour belly, more like it's a place where you go to try new, brave combinations of tastes, textures, and colours.

We visited early afternoon and while there were enough people, it didn't feel crowded. We parked our car in a parking lot at the bottom of the hill and made the climb up to the castle, which is quite the workout. There was no wait to get our tickets and we started by taking in the views of Lake Bled and the iconic island. The views are definitely why you climb the hill. But was the castle worth a visit? Sorry, but no. Not for the price of an adult ticket anyway. You can get the same views from the viewpoint outside and save yourself the money. While the buildings were pretty, it's far from the best castle I've ever visited. There wasn't actually that much to see.

Beautiful castle with nice views of the lake and around Bled area. Good museum inside and ok souvenirs shops. Amazing old print machines, can do really good present like a old historical painting

Off season visit makes for fewer crowds. Challenging walk-up from several directions. Definitely lay siege to this castle, very beautiful views of the Alps, lake, and island.

Great view over the city and surroundings. The castle is very beautiful from the outside. Entrance fee is very steep though for the castle/museum. The staff at the entrance was very uninterested and a little rude. For example they did not explain there is an audio guide and how it works. The museum lacks content/notable pieces.
