Bleu Restaurant

Came here on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Ordered quite a few dishes. Food was okay. The restaurant is kind of lacking the zen feeling. Awkward... perhaps it's meant for other purposes?

If you’re thinking about going out here expect to wait in the line for hours and watch people cut ahead of you also a lot of younger people. Definitely not a good place to go out. Security needs to step up and do a better job. Not worth it.

Excellent service and food, but just one shady thing that left a sour taste in my mouth. I asked for a small side of fries. The lady who speak perfectly English brought us a plate of fries. Okay, I guess that is considered to be a small plate of fries. Anyway, she charged us $9.99 for that plate of fries while everything else a beautiful dish of fish for only $16.99 - yes, a plate of fries for $9.99 makes total sense? Hell no! It doesn't. Anyway, enough about that bad experience, my parents and husband all did have a great experience and the food (crispy fish) was extremely tasty. It doesn't help that I got a stomachache later on and I felt that it was the fried fish. Even though the fish was extremely tasty, I will have to think twice before I take my parents to the place again.

Call ahead an hour before arriving if you want the catfish. It's delicious! The filet mignon dish was really good too.

Event says “$10 before 10:30” and everyone was lined up at 9:45. The doors then don’t open until 10:30, and they proceed to charge everyone in line $20 entry fee. Horrible business practice. Musician then proceeds to go on at 12:30 and gets off the stage at 12:50. If you want to be ripped off, this is the place for you.

We were there for lunch and had the baked catfish and Vietnamese crepe. Food was good. The raw veggies that came with our food were clean and fresh. Dipping sauces were alright. Service was pretty decent, but it was not yet busy when we were there. Parking was easy and plentiful. I would come back here.

Went to the nightclub, Bought a ticket online that gave me RSVP and said if i show up before 10:30 its a 5$ entrance. Showed up at 9 with friends and they kept us waiting outside until 11 to make sure we paid the full price (30) and they made sure they let everybody in one by one so even if you show up first you wont get in. Had an argument with the ticket lady and complained how I waited in line since 9 and yet i still had to pay full price even though I had the ticket. She argued back and said pay the price, I work here, pay or the bouncer will kick you out. I even showed her the tickets and the description online but somehow she said that the tickets were void because they dont accept electronic websites even though it was advertised by them. Horrible nightclub and is just a scam for your money

Had my 50th their and Jamie was amazing. Everything was perfect. Special mention to Lola our bartender!

Wanted to give 0 star. Ordered the daily meals and one of the food portion, pho ap chao, literally got a long metal piece from a stainless steel scrubbing pad. Don't know how it gets in the food.This is so terrible.

Had our Dad's 80th birthday dinner here. The venue was super cute. Amie (Amy) was great. Recommending this venue for your next event. Lots of perks, ask for Amie (Amy). My sister was the family POC and she was extremely satisfied at the service.

I want give 0 start for this review . My parent have EBT card , came here for their dinner. Before my parent order they asked do you acept EBT here ? The guy said YES and didn't mention the machine not work . After finished their dinner , they try to pay but machine not work and the Lady work there she said before my parent come , there is some customer have a same problem , The lady asking my parent pay diffrent one and they charge fee on my parent VISa credit card . Visiting this place for the first time and it was an unexpected experience. This is not a full fledged restaurant. It's more like a night club environment but offer lunch and set menu food. The Pho AP chao - pan fried combination pho and the bun cha Hanoi where both not bad and unexpectedly good. The facility, horrible. The restrooms were filthy with broken accessories. The food area is clean and extremely large open space, with randomly placed tables to service food. If any, I would recommend the set menu they offer to go.

Food taste good like homemade makes me remember my grandma used to cook for us years ago.

Crispy fried catfish goodness. We also had fried chicken and fried calamari. The garden roll spread was so fresh. Service was quick and the place was quiet for a nice Monday night dinner.

Do NOT go here for clubbing...my friend and I got our phones stolen which apparently happens a lot here. Be careful... security guard was also very rude and aggressive which didn't help the situation :/

Best ca nuong in town! Some Saturdays may be booked for events but usually any other day you can easily get a table. They have other menu items that are really good as well. I like to bring family and friends here for special events!

4.5 stars I have yet to dine in at this restaurant but I do order their weekly meal service. It's perfect for single people who can't cook, no access to kitchen or like me, too busy. As of now, you get lunch and dinner meals for $20 daily. One meal is soup or noodle type and other is rice with veggies, soup and protein. The flavor is like my family's cooking. I have yet had a meal I didn't like. Menu rotates weekly and comes back every 3 wks. Lots of variety. You can choose which meal day you want. It's not advertised but you can opt out on soup/noodle dish for another rice meal but would have to pay a little extra. I took half star of because I wish they'd put the salad separately. People may not have anything to hold the salad to microwave the food. Portion not consistent. Some days there's not enough rice and lots of protein and some times not enough protein. However, you definitely will get full. You can't beat the price either. I hope they will continue this service for a long time.

I was here for an event, first I want to say to small menu of foods does taste good but if you are looking for service then forget it. We ordered water bottles but literally waited an hour and nothing. Had to get in line at the bar for another hour to get 5 bottles of water. Over capacity and less waitress working. If you for the event then guess this is what is expected.

Food is decent but service is terrible!!! It all comes down to poor management and this place needs to have a complete makeover.. need to retrain entire staff and management needs to learn how to run a restaurant... will definitely not coming back...

I came here about two weeks ago to see the loose cannons perform and there was a bouncer at the door checking IDs, I'm 62 years old and she checked my ID and then she proceeded to announce to everyone standing around me that I was the oldest person there that night! i've never been to a place that checks your ID and announces to everyone within 10 feet what your actual age is, it's not like I care, I was with my husband, but I think you have to be pretty unprofessional, clueless, dumb to do such a thing and then burst out laughing after she says it, just wanted to write it in a review so you can mention to the person it was an older, female, dressed kind of mannish and maybe you want to mention it to her that you don't do that!!! There are many people that would not like this!!!

Absolutely worse restaurant with worse service in all Orange County. He service has gotten worse. Poor managers. Also charging 3% for debit card transaction. 8 years of eating at this place. This will be my last.

I usually don't write a review however, I think if the owner reads my following review she will take care of her restaurant better. My husband and I went there today for 2 bun cha ha noi. The food is ok but the lettuce and mints are dirty with tiny snails on them, especially rau dap ca. If you find 1 snail it still acceptable to me cause I'm not a difficult person or hard to please. However, we found quite a few sails with different sizes on rau dap ca. the lettuce was not clean and had some dirt on them. We showed the waiter and the lady in front those snails. They just said Oh, kitchen staff has washed it carefully but we will let them know. sorry. That's it. We felt that they did not care about their customers. How could they serve dirty unwashed vegetables to their customers???? Also, the lady cashier told me if I came back next time I should remind her and she would do something to make it up for me. Why I have to come back and she will make up at that time???? Very poor service. Toi hy vong Phi Khanh se doc review nay va lam viec voi staff cua chi de phuc vu tot hon. Will never step foot here again. Service is terrible. They charge for $1 Per person for water. They also charge an extra 3% for using credit card. They automatically tack on 15% minimum tip so that they don't even have to try. If they get your order wrong they don't want to honor their mistake and expect you to pay for it. We had to press for them to remove the delta, but they insisted on charging us tax and tip on the wrong higher amount. Do not patronize a place that is so money grubbing, they will never see a dime of our money again. Will be sure to let everyone we know, never step foot in here.

We loved everything that night for my husband's 50th party how it turned out even much better than we expected on top of such short notice! We couldn't have done it without Tina Dao! Thank you, Tina! We even loved the guy who was going around picking up plates, and cups and making sure the food buffet was clean and what needed a refill. All of us talked about for weeks how amazing it was. Everyone said the food was amazingly good atcrhe party. The owner is so sweet and easy to talk to too. Thanks for a memorable 50th party Ever!

Went here around 7pm on a Wednesday, came into the restaurant...there was literally NO ONE. I felt a bit of a sketchy vibe. But then when the food come out, it was actually really good and enjoyable. I'm not sure if the waiters know English that well, because when I spoke English they did have a little hesitancy in their answer. So it would be better for Vietnamese speaker to be with you. The food was good, better than I expected. The place is just so dead, which is really weird.

Came here for the food during normal food hours, so no input on the "dancing" component of this establishment! Honestly the food quality isnt anything spectacular but it does a good enough job for a bite nearby. Don't expect sparkles and bumpin music during lunch time! Food: - Pho Filet Mignon (Large $7.99): Broth is clear and has some good flavors and they gave a decent portion of tender beef filet. There's a fair amount of MSG so expect a sizable food coma after your meal. Wasn't a memorable dish but it wasnt horrible Pros: - Never a line for lunch! - Big open space where they block out half the room so it doesn't look so huge. - Semi-quick service. Cons: - Pretty slow service so you'll need to wave them down for any refills. - I'm confused about their credit card fee situation. They said no matter how much the cost, they will charge 3% more if you use credit? Confusing. This I believe is illegal! - They barely seem to speak English to get my point across. Had to repeat myself many times. Since I work pretty close by to here I'll probably be coming back a few more times, but I'll remember to check in and bring cash!

First of all Saturday night around 9:45 pm though of going in with 7 of us to enjoy the night but the security guy's name B Mine so rude talk to me this way , We open at 10pm I said ok then when back to my car and sit look at the phone online the Bleu's website said open then I come back and ask the security guy name B Mine Your website said open then he no at 10 After that I saw he rolled his eyes , I told him don't roll your eyes on me , I said the reason I ask your because, I need bathroom badly I drove over an hour to come here,then he said you can go where else??????? So I ask him to be nice because, we came here to support your business so your boss have money to pay you, then he said we don't need your business????? Wow After all one gentleman stand next to me said to him that he saw all of ,the security guy -B Mine not nice. How ever hope the management or owner should teach the security guy how to be nice with your customers. I left the Bleu's when to Corden Blue's bar , the security guy open the door and great me with happy face . Will never be back to Bleu's sad

The pho here is so-so and the other dishes are certainly better. Their egg rolls are VERY delicious and super crunchy. Their shaken beef, pho ap chao, and banh xeo are also very good. Also, the 10% yelp check in discount is a thumbs up. The only thing is that sometimes they will be setting up for event at their night club. I went here with another family who had younger kids and some dancers were practicing (very sensuously) while we were having dinner. Maybe not the best place to take kids? But the food is pretty good!

This place is the absolute WORST. I went last night for their New Years event and I got in line at 9pm on the dot and the line to get in was very long. I saw on the eventbrite that everyone is free before 10:30pm so me and my friends thought that since we got there a whole hour and a half early that we would make it inside in time before 10:30pm but we were sooo wrong. The line went by so slow and my girl friend needed to use the bathroom really bad so we went to the front and asked the security/ bouncer if my girlfriend can use the bathroom really quick and they immediately said "nonono" in a rude tone and wouldn't want to hear what I had to say or care that my girlfriend was gonna piss her pants. They were too busy telling these group of girls that were intoxicated that they can't come in and I even saw the security put their hands on the girls and push them away. That's probably why the line was taking so long to get in. We had no choice but to get back in line and wait but when we saw a security guard at their outside patio area we asked him if my girlfriend can use the bathroom he said that the bouncers should be able to let her go in if I ask and I told him they said no and he was surprised and said I should go ask and we went back to ask and the security guard immediately said no and explained why he couldn't while this other bouncer was getting into some older guy's face literally about to fight and they were yelling back and forth and there was some pushing and commotion and I just stood there in awe. This place is so unprofessional and childish how they be treating people. We finally got to the front and got inside and we got in at 11pm. We told the lady inside at the front that we have been in line since 9pm and waited for 2 hours and if we can still be let in for free since we had the free before 10:30pm tickets on our phone and she said "no if you're not here in front of me by 10:30pm then I'm not letting you in for free" and has the audacity to tell us "that's why people get here by 8:30pm" and we were caught so off guard by her attitude and rude tone and we asked her how much is it to get in and she said "I already told you" even though she didn't and she kept saying "well I already told you" and proceeded to say that girls were $20 and guys were $30 and I got so mad. Like NO WHERE on the website or eventbrite says that price. It said after 10:30pm everyone is $10 so they're just making up their own rules at this point. The girl was so rude I can't express how much she pissed me off by her attitude and also had the audacity to rush us as our friends are trying to find cash to pay $90 for all of us to get in. It was complete bs. We got in finally and danced and went to the bar for water bc my friend was dehydrated and this bartender really tried to sell me a Costco water bottle for $5. That did it for me, like are you kidding me? You can't even put tap water in a cup and give it for free? I guess nothing is free in here. You're better off going to Mesa or heatultralounge where they have stuff under control and water is free. I went to Mesa and people were free before 10:30pm and we got in after 10:30pm and we were NOT charged because we were in line before 10:30pm so props to them. This place sucks so bad I can't even tell you how disappointed I was in everyone there being rude and stingy. Don't go here.

I'm so bored waiting for my food that I'm just going to write this review. With all of the great food in Westminster... I would not recommend this place... unless you want to wait over 40 min for your appetizer in a lonely club that is disguised as a restaurant... My family ordered a variety of dishes and it came in this order - Pho - Bun Cha Gio - Banh Xeo Lastly... - the Bleu APPETIZER sampler Usually an appetizer comes before all of the entree but not here!!! What in the world is going back on in that kitchen?! Ok. It's been 50 min and they only brought out HALF of our sampler Hahahaha omg, wut .___. It's not even good! Everything looks like it came from the freezer section from Food 4 Less. I'm so sad and disappointed. NEVER coming back.

Just adding on! Pho is in my top two list now along side Pho Nguyen Hue. I have had it at least a dozen times. Owners are great and brought out a non beef based seafood soup for my Thai Friends that they loved. I have been here on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.. Always have a good time. Food is yummy, entertainment is good, coffee (cafe sua da) is great.

Meh.... Hubby got a Groupon for a lunch here and we finally made it over. This place seems to be busy at night but quite dead otherwise. We came in an hour after it opened and were the only two there the whole time. We stood there for about five minutes or what seemed like it before we were seated. We both got an iced tea. It was quite light in color and just tasted like water. I guess I could have gotten the water for free. Room seemed fine... pretty decent looking. There was a stage for groups to play music. tables and stools for the nightclub... darker aura which I never mind. They played what seemed like elevator music during the time that we were there. We both also got the grilled chicken, soy marinated with garlic noodles and it came with veggies. The garlic noodles were fine. Not a lot of flavor but not bad. I did enjoy the taste of the soy marinated grilled chicken but my husband pointed out that it reminded him of flame broiler's chicken. Veggies had big, crinkled cut slices of carrots, broccoli, and mushroom. The carrots were a bit hard but I eat carrots raw and cooked so it didn't matter much. Broccoli was fine. Mushrooms looked like sprouts that were plucked and cooked. I never ate any like that before. We asked for the fried banana dessert. (Banana tempura with ice cream) We were told that they were out, and it was noon and they had been open for two hours. I won't ask... Waiter was friendly. He was actually the bartender but they had him come in and help for dining for the day. Food was mediocre, probably won't be back personally, but some of you may love it, especially the party people.

After years of driving by this place I stumbled across a deal on Groupon and thought I would finally give this place a try. If you look up average in the dictionary it may have a picture of this place accompanying it. As we walked in the door I was a bit surprised to see that the building is basically split into two separate sections, one for the restaurant and one for the club. As we walked in the door (approximately an hour after open) we saw that we were the only guests in the building and no one was available up front to greet anyone. After a few minutes of absent mindedly standing around looking lost we were finally greeted and taken to a table by the bartender (who was doubling as the waiter/server). He quickly took our drink order and brought it to the table. We both went with iced tea which is pretty standard for us but we were both a bit disappointed by its lack of flavor. The tea itself was large in volume but simply tasted like colored water. For our meal we both decided upon the Grilled Chicken Garlic Noodle dish. The chicken was grilled nicely and did have quite a bit of flavor and the garlic noodle accompaniment was also quite nice. The portion as a whole was filling and I even had a bit leftover to bring home. The mushrooms, broccoli and other assorted vegetables were still partially raw and did not taste like they were cooked through thoroughly. The pricing was decent for the size of the dish but the flavors overall did not mesh well as a whole. Although our waiter is primarily the bartender he did a pretty good job of serving us and keeping up with refills and checking on us throughout the meal. He was very friendly and never failed to make small talk when he saw our Groupon deal. Upon the completion of our lunch we decided to try the fried bananas with ice cream for dessert but were told that they were out. As there was no alternative we were interested in we decided that dessert would be better suited elsewhere. How you run out of a dessert so early in the afternoon with hours of service remaining is beyond me but it happens and seems to be more frequent these days which is a bit concerning. This place looks like it is trying to hard to be too many things at once. While the place seems to have a great nightlife due to the lounge and club the restaurant seems to me to take a bit of a backseat in the grand scheme. Overall this was a average experience with average food that could be gotten elsewhere and delivered more effectively. I am glad that I tried the place as it was a restaurant I have had bookmarked for awhile but I honestly do not see me coming back, but I will never say never as crazier things have happened.

My experience here was terrible. We first walk in and they are playing head banging EDM music. We get seated and they gave us our menus. We came here for the bun bo hue because it was 50% off. We also wanted canh chua and cha ca Thanh long, but they didn't have that. So we ordered a mango salad and banh xeo. They had the banh xeo but didn't have the mango salad. We then wanted bo luc lac but then they didn't have that either, and they recommended that they did have the steak and fries. So we just got that because we didn't know what they actually had at the time. Why give us menus when they didn't have anything on their menu?! Didn't even know if they had water... Our waiter that was passing out our waters actually spilled 2 cups all over my sister's back. Our bun bo hue came out first and it took 30 minutes for us to get the steak and fries and banh xeo. Everyone was already finished with their bun bo hue by the time it came out. (Bun bo hue was terrible. Super bland) We finished our lunch and asked for the bill. They charged us for the mango salad that they didn't have!

Iam in love with their food the pho is my favorite if you want yummy food and nice dinning area come here ! And the workers here super friendly and nice !

I came hungry and I left satisfied. Pro tip- bring some writing instruments to play some good ol' tic tak to while you wait for the delicious food.

Bleu restaurant was such a good dining experience. The group I went with just got back a couple weeks ago from Vietnam and this place really tasted like we were back there! We had the egg rolls and chicken as an appetizer. The shrimp salad was amazing! My friend let me try the spicy soup and wow!!!! I had the garlic rice , salad, and salmon. It was prepared beautifully. Great service! And clean :)

If you like to eat while dining in within a reasonable timeframe then stay clear of Bleu. Not only has the food gone downhill lately, it took over an hour to get any of our orders. My kids were starving by the time they got their meals. Luckily, they were kept busy drawing on the white paper they lay over the tables. So if you're not too hungry then show up and sit down; you'll have your order in an hour.

Ca Nuong Crispy Fish is excellent and good price. We love it and keep coming back all times

Hanh was extremely helpful in setting up the cake table as well as the music for our event. My Mom and her guests were truly impressed with the quality of your food. We ordered papaya shrimp salad, salt and pepper calamari and grilled fish....Highly recommend these dishes because of the raving reviews from the Viet elderly "Best Cook" Moms. Thank you Hanh for taking great care of our guests as well as ensuring the flow of the food! We are truly thankful to Bleu Restaurant for helping us in celebrating my Mom :)

My aunt invited my mother and I. Ordered the pho ap cho, the banh xeo, and the bun bo hue. It's all good. Nothing amazing but good. The service is pretty vicious though. Near horrible. We had to get their attention more than once to ask for various things. Would come back if invited but wouldn't come back on my own.

Came in for dinner with the family and ordered the ca noung as we didn't even know they served it here. We were pleasantly surprised on how crispy the skin came and meaty the fish was. Not only super delicious it was at a great value for such a low price. Defintely, would eat again!

I ordered grill fish and it was deep fry fish. so upsetting! The fish was so dry, very little veggies. 3% if you pay by credit card. Wont be back!

Bún bò hu t hn v thng đu, a couple slice non flavor beef + tiny chewy pork hock and msg soup. A plate of cut green salad and bean sprout. This is worst than instant bún bò hu. 4 oz grill galic salmont for $12, same green salad (toping with fish sause) . Low quality salmont, breaking apart, no flavor at all. The only good is the rice came with it. Please stop advertise non sense on the radio, you guy should learn how to cook and serve the real food.

Man oh man, we went out for a break (10 minutes max) after a beer, came back, management took our seats away from the bar, expect us to eat the food that we ordered (haven't touch) STANDING! So we asked them "where's our seat?" Their respond "Sorry, but you can't sit here anymore" Me "why you set the stools here, let us sit here, took our food order then expect us to eat standing up?" "WHAT THE FUCK?" And I've never ever cuss like this! But this should be expected in this SHITTY Place!! We heard people got shot here awhile ago. My husband and I were fearful we may lose our life coming here, but who would expect we lose our seats instead.... On a positive note, we consider ourself lucky, we made it out ALIVE! . My sister wanted to meet for lunch at Bleu. I wasn't so thrilled as it has only 3-star rating. I was pleasantly surprise that the food was quite good and the price was reasonable too. The cha gio is authentic. The bun cha is better than Ha Noi Avenue. The banh xeo is good and not greasy like other places. The green mango with grilled shrimp salad is very good; the dressing is just right, not too sweet or too sour, very well balanced. The plus point is the lettuce and herbs are dry and not soaking wet like many restaurants out there. Also they give a lot of herbs. Usually I ask for more but not at Bleu. Service is efficient. We got our food in reasonable time. I definitely will return to try other dishes.

"Are you sure you want to eat there for dinner tonight? Whose idea was it? Why do you want to eat there while there are plenty of Vietnamese restaurants in the OC?" I was very skeptical. I've driven by this place so many times in the past five years after I moved to the OC and every time I wondered why this place hasn't gone out of business yet. I am not saying I am pessimistic, but every time I passed by during the day or even at night, there was not many cars outside. Mmmm... but last time we dined there, it seemed that they were still in business. My friend's aunt talks about this place million times and their delicious food. I can't believe that old Vietnamese people actually eat here. Is it a club? Is it a bar lounge? Is it a restaurant? I am confused. In my mind, the food tastes so bad that I believe that they should rename it Bleu Dancing and Restaurant. Come to dance, not to eat. So, we ordered pho, bun thit nuong cha gio, grilled salmon rice, and steak. I didn't try the latter two dishes, so I can only tell you about the first two. My pho broth was so bland that I had to dump in a lot of hoisin sauce. The noodles were overcooked, it stuck on to each other and compiled into a big chunk. Being a Vietnamese restaurant and serving pho on the menu, they totally disregard the other kind of greens besides basil leaves and sprouts. I was so disappointed. I did not finish my pho and had to stuff myself with sushi afterwards. On the other hand, the boyfriend loved his bun thit nuong cha gio (charcoal grilled pork and egg roll vermicelli). He described the egg roll as home made fresh, crunchy, and delicious filling. Still being confused after I dined there last week, but one thing I know for sure I won't be coming back here for a Vietnamese food fix in the future.
