"Blind Barber already exists in a bunch of other cities, but this is its first location in Philly. The Center City spot is a barbershop during the day, but turns into a speakeasy at night, with bars on two floors that serve cocktails and snacks like grilled cheese. It might sound kitschy, but it’s also really fun - especially on a night when you want to go out out. It’s a club without the sticky floors and strobe lights, and as much as you want to hate it, you’ll probably find yourself here late-night often." - Sydney McElwee

I went to this place last week with my friend. We were looking for a new place to go dancing, so we walked around downtown and stumbled upon this speakeasy. It was my first time at a speakeasy, and it was really cool to see how the barbershop transformed into a clubby vibe area just by going behind one door. Based on my experience, I might come back, but I'm not too sure. I will say this place is great, depending on the kind of vibe you're into. The crowd was diverse, with people ranging from their 20s to probably in their 50s. The dance floor was quite small and got crowded quickly, so if you're not a fan of tight spaces, this may not be the place for you. Also, the area didn't have many fans, and the fans they had were small, so it got really hot and sweaty very quickly. The people were literally sticking together because of the sweat, and it was gross. However, if you didn't feel like being on the dance floor, there was a bar and lounge area to explore. Overall, the people were friendly, and the music was good. The DJ played a mix of music from the 90s and some current hits, so there was something for everyone. It's a spot to check out, especially if you're into 90s and diverse music selections and want to experience a speakeasy. I recommend bringing a small fan next time to enhance the overall experience, as it got really hot and smelly due to the lack of ventilation.

The whole appeal for this club is that you can get in for free. I’ve been going to blind barber for 3 years and now it’s $10 entry fee. Trust and believe don’t waste your time to go. when they are quick to kick ppl out. During SIPS you had to pay. COOL. But now there’s an entry fee? Clubs start getting some hype and don’t know how to act. Remember where you came from.

Very cool atmosphere and concept of speakeasy. You enter a barber shop that has a back door. The drinks were okay, I got the gin with Prosecco one and gosh it had a lot of alcohol in it. Old fashion came with cherry 😃 You can even dance there and I love it.

Great place! Super cool how the bar is hidden in the back. The place had a decent amount of space and a couple different bars to choose from if you’re less into the dancing and loudness of the music upstairs. The vibes were great though

Just had my first barber appt after a long seduction, which started with a speakeasy visit a few weeks ago. Made some new friends in Richie the manager, with his excellent hospitality, and Phalla, my barber... She's a perfectionist as a technician. Go see this girl for all of your grooming needs...What a fantastic experience all-around! I shall return.

A group of friends and I went to Blind Barber on 8/17 for a fun night out. We went straight upstairs and the vibe was off due to the abundance of creepy old men. My friends and I decided to leave, and as we were waiting for a ride, the security yelled at us to get out, while simultaneously allowing other people to stay inside. It was pouring rain, and I asked the one man if we could please go back into the bar while we wait for an uber, and he forced us out into the rain. As I was shoved along to the door, I asked the other security guard if we could please stay inside. He laughed at me, told me to shut up, and proceeded to kick me and my two friends out into the pouring rain. Overall, the concept of blind barber is cool, but there are plenty of other speakeasies like Ranstead Room, Midnight and the Wicked, etc. that have a much classier vibe and feel safer to be at if you are a young woman.

Fun "speakeasy" style location located at the far end of a functioning barber shop. Drinks were very yummy, service and menu options could have been more on point. The only food available during our visit were empanadas that could not be purchased at the bar.
