The blind barber is a modern speakeasy. As you can see by the first picture of the front of the establishment is just a barbershop. You should make reservations. I was told it gets crowded as the night goes on. We got there at 5:30 PM for drinks before going out to dinner. You literally walked through a working barbershop and into the back room. Once you go into the back room, there is a bar immediately in front of you, but you also can go upstairs to another bar. I ordered the Lawn Jawn. It was one of the best cocktail drinks I’ve had with infused jalapeño tequila! According to their menu, they had several different options for food, but when I asked the only thing they had available, was the wings. We ordered the honey jerk and the honey garlic. Both were pretty good. My recommendation is to go a little later because there might be more of a atmosphere with more people. But since we did go early, we got a seat at the bar, which was nice.

Blind Barber Philadelphia was an absolute lifesaver on our wedding day. The bouncers and bartenders are super cool here. The other night I went out with my friends from work and there was a drunk guy clearly tryna get back into the establishment. Poor bouncers were trying their best to move him from the door so other people could get in! They were so sweet and the drinks here were yummyy! Definitely a great spot to visit.

Cute concept. Been here a few times, everytime I leave thinking their drinks are overpriced, menu limited and service is just so/so. I guess when the 20% gratuity is automatically included they aren't worried about earning their tips.... improvements definitely needed in the customer service area

Let’s be honest. This isn’t a Turkish barber, so you’ve gotta temper your expectations, but my hair looked ok! I had a Manhattan, which was also good but had a lot of hair clippings floating in it.

Fun "speakeasy" style location located at the far end of a functioning barber shop. Drinks were very yummy, service and menu options could have been more on point. The only food available during our visit were empanadas that could not be purchased at the bar.

The crowd was diverse, with people ranging from their 20s to probably in their 50s. The dance floor was quite small and got crowded quickly, so if you're not a fan of tight spaces, this may not be the place for you. Also, the area didn't have many fans, and the fans they had were small, so it got really hot and sweaty very quickly. The people were literally sticking together because of the sweat, and it was gross. However, if you didn't feel like being on the dance floor, there was a bar and lounge area to explore. Overall, the people were friendly, and the music was good. The DJ played a mix of music from the 90s and some current hits, so there was something for everyone. It's a spot to check out, especially if you're into 90s and diverse music selections and want to experience a speakeasy. I recommend bringing a small fan next time to enhance the overall experience, as it got really hot and smelly due to the lack of ventilation.

Blind Barber in Philly is one of the best true speakeasies I've been to. Located right near Rittenhouse Square in a super lively area, it looks like a regular barbershop from the outside. But walk through the shop and into the back -- and boom -- you're in a whole hidden bar. It's got that classic speakeasy feel without trying too hard. Parking-wise, there's street parking nearby, but it fills up quickly, so plan ahead. When I visited, only the upstairs bar was open (the downstairs one was closed), but the vibe was still great. The space is simply decorated -- nothing over the top -- but it works. The bartender was super friendly and made the experience even better. I ordered the wings and a Diet Coke, and let me just say... those wings were phenomenal. Some of the best I've had at a bar. The staff overall was warm, helpful, and attentive. One heads-up: I tried to go the night before (Wednesday), and even though their hours said they were open late, they closed around 11 because it wasn't busy. Apparently, they sometimes close early on Wednesdays and Thursdays if the crowd isn't there. Totally understandable -- just make sure to give them a quick call before heading over on a weeknight.

Came here to check out the speakeasy. Apparently it is a barber shop in the day time but at night it turns into a hidden nightclub. The place had 10 dollar cover per person which was super annoying. When we went through the hidden room, we were greeted by a small lounge area. It had a bartender that was making drinks, limited seating around the bar, and a tv that was playing old dancing videos on YouTube with no volume. The rap music from the upstairs bar was blaring down to the bottom floor. At the top bar (when you go up the stairs), one side has a big bar with a good amount of seating around it. There are a couple of booths as well. The other side has a dance floor as well. The upstairs bar was way too loud for us so we ended up going back to the downstairs bar. I ended up getting a mocktail. They put my drink in a pretty tall glass with a ton of ice. They didn't have a name for my drink but I asked for something spicy. The bartender definitely delivered on the spice in my drink.

Go through the bottom floor barber shop, through the back door, up the stairs, and you'll find yourself in a fun little speakeasy joint to enjoy a cocktail or two. I think Philadelphia has the best speakeasies and I love a little bit of mystery as I enjoy a craft cocktail. I had this drink made from banana-infused bourbon (Howler Head) with some banana chips on top. It was delicious, therefore I highly recommend it. Yet another awesome bar to check out in the streets of downtown Philly!

I visited Blind Barber's backroom 70s inspired 'cocktail lounge' a few years ago and remember having a great time. I visited again December of 2023 and left sorely disappointed. My group and I got there around 5PM -- right around when the bar opened. We were the only ones there on a Friday during happy hour which was odd. A few more people trickled in a bit later, but it was still largely empty -- that alone should've been a warning sign. The service was OK -- our server was attentive enough but it seemed as if she was getting irritated when we were hanging onto our last round of drinks for a while and not ordering more. The bar's website claims that you can enjoy "expertly crafted cocktails" -- sadly that's far from the truth. The drinks here more closely resemble the level of drinks you'd get at a dive bar or cheap hotel lobby. They are not worth the price. The happy hour drinks were even worse. The Mule tasted like it was a tall glass of ginger beer with some ice -- no lime or vodka. The best drink here would be worth at most $10. This place has a ton of potential but sadly I can't recommend it anymore. 2/5

Ambiance Very young crowd and music selection was really good. From 90s rnb to some classics, the DJ was on point that night! It was very crowded and upstairs was very very hot, with some spots hit with AC (which is where y group and i were standing mot of the time in the crowd). Found myself spilling my drinking bumping into people but it was cool. Was a very cool retro themed spot. Clubs are only as a good as you make them and going with the right group of people is essential! Drinks The drinks hit! Avg price for one was about 10-15 which is what i pay for in the bay area but very tasty. I got a long island. Was pretty good!

One of my favorite spots whenever I visit my cousin in Philly. I'm tempted to not write a review so as to not spoil the fun of the speakeasy, but as others have already done so, I feel less bad about it. We discovered it because we happened to be standing on the street corner nearby bc the bar we were originally attempting to go to was full and we were trying to find an alternate plan. Some random person walking by us like a visiting angel told us to "check out the bar behind the barber shop" and we (very apprehensively because we thought we were being punked) went inside. The bouncer at first played like he had no idea what we were talking about and I almost melted into the floor from embarrassment but then he cracked a smile to let us know he was messing with us and we ended up in a super cool midcentury meets modern vibe.

What a fun night out with my honey! We did some touristy bar hopping in our city and this was one of our stops. The bar has a cool barbershop like aesthetic and speakeasy theme. The drinks were pretty tasty and even though I did find them a bit pricey I would still come again. Also, I felt there was a nice mix of music genres playing so the experience was most definitely inclusive. My only concern was the stickiness of the floors it felt like my shoes kept getting stuck but again it is dark and crowded in there so it is easy to spill a drink on the floor haha either way the Blind Barber was a great late night vibe.

No frills speak easy. Ground floor and upstairs seating. Two bars lots of group seating areas and small dance floor that fills fast. Dj played mix of pop and lil house. We wanted old school cause we old. Was good enough to work it off. Bridal parties and birthdays, so you've been warned.

This bar was nicely decorated and it was interesting how you walked through a barber shop. The atmosphere was very nice for a bar. My one friend had a margarita, and said it was not good unfortunately. There were not very many people when we went, but there was a long wait to get drinks.

Good vibes, good ambiance. It reminds me of the former L'Etage upstairs from Creperie Beau Monde (unfortunately now closed). Was looking forward to checking out the Blind Barber and made reservations for post dinner drinks. Coming from dinner, we had some takeout boxes. The nice security guards outside Blind Barber offered to hold on to them for us, but we decided we would just leave the food in the car to keep things easy. Meanwhile the security guards checked our bags to make sure we weren't bringing anything we shouldn't inside. We walked into the barbershop and then through the doors that led into the speakeasy. We were expecting something swanky, but when we walked in, everything about the speakeasy felt divey. We walked upstairs and tried to find an employee to check us in for our reservations, and couldn't find anyone, so we sat ourselves down at a table. After a while, a server came by to take our orders. We order a round of drinks. While the cocktails certainly sounded good on the menu, they drank very mediocre. Then around 9:30pm, the DJ came on and started playing music. It wasn't bad music but just way too loud and the bass was set wayyyyy too high. At any club, you can still hear yourselves talking, even if the music is loud. This was so loud our ears were exploding. We had to get ourselves out of there at that point. Even as we were outside, we were still disoriented from the loudness of the music.

Came here on a Saturday night during happy hour. It is a fully functional barber shop and then there's a door towards the back that opens up to the speakeasy - super cool. We had made a reservation online and they checked us in and led us to some seating up stairs once we arrived inside the bar area. There is also open seating on the main level in case you just walk in. During the time we came, there was a lot of seating available. I felt our seating was rather secluded and hid us from our waitress. She was amiss at times when we were trying to figure out what to order and figure out a few answers to questions. Of note, there is a guaranteed 20% gratuity applied to your bill so I felt she wasn't really too concerned about the level of service. We ordered some drinks, and though they're not known for their food, we tried to order a few of the vegetarian friendly items but they were discontinued or out of stock. I can understand due to supply chain issues the out of stock situation, but I found the discontinued options being listed on the menu as odd since we were working off of menus you access via a QR code (not a physical menu), so for them not to update the menu online felt cumbersome - why have items listed if you're not serving them? The service experience was rather lackluster but we did enjoy the drinks. Idk - not the best experience but it is what it was. Not sure I'll come back but maybe you'll have a better time.

Philadelphia Phillies Bryce Harper owned speakeasy in the heart of Philadelphia. The virile decor and atmosphere is complimented by snacks and inspired cocktails. The entrance, just through the barbershop, has two floors, the perfect spot for date night or a night on the town to dance and celebrate.

Cool spot but be careful, game here on a busy Saturday bartender didn't bother telling me There was added gratuity on TWO drinks and then I ended up giving cash in addition. Kind of ruined the vibe for me to be honest.

Price : $7-20 Atmosphere : speakeasy with great music cozy and intimate Food: we had the loaded Hot Dog and the pimento grill cheese and it was divine! Bartender : victor was great ! 10/10 recommend ! Music: variety of music and all of it was a vibe ! HH IS THIRSDAY TO SARURDAY FROM 5-8 pm 2nd Tuesday of the month ! It's a boom boom room ! My daughter has a friend who works here so she knew about this place. We walked here after spending time at another spot drinking with appetizers so we made it too late to get any food. The vibe is nice and their drink menu is good. We stuck with the city wide special but I would like to go back and try more. The entrance to the bar is through a working barber shop and it felt like I was transported to the 1930's when it was important in some places to hide the sale of alcohol. Great concept and cool place.

Great vibes You walk through a barber shop (yes you can actually get a hair cut lol) and through the door. Once you're through there's 2 levels to the bar. Our group was on the second floor. Good music, ambiance was nice, drinks were excellent, service was stellar (Nate is awesome!). Only thing I felt was really lacking was the food. The menu doesn't have a ton of options to choose from and what is on there, is not very good. Highly recommend the espresso martini

The Blind Barber is one of the coolest speakeasy / clubs I've ever seen in the city of Philadelphia. Lit vibes and definitely a must to check out if you're in the area ! I was extremely messed up a MULTIPLE drugs and security took a good care of me and even gave me my own private section:) No judgment here, just positive vibes and hot chicks !

The speakeasy was pretty cool, and easy to find. You walk through the barber shop and to a door in the back and find a bar. If you got reservations they'll take you up the stairs to the other sections. The atmosphere was a good mix of friends hanging out and date night. The drinks were pretty good, but the drink that really stood out to me was the espresso martini!! It had the perfect amount of coffee and it was super delicious.

This place is like a mixture of a bar and a club, the space of the service were really good. The bouncers are quite strict, we went on a Thursday night so it wasn't too busy, however, I heard that it could be difficult during the weekend. Music was good, not a lot of trendy music tho. Overall, me and my friends had a good time and would probably comeback again for some fun!

This is just for the bar, not the barbershop. Drinks are solid, if pricey, and they automatically include a "service charge." It gets suuuuper crowded on the dance floor, but if you get there early, it's a good time, especially with no cover (check out All the Cutz every third Thursday with Rebel Foster! Hip hop that'll make all us Millennials feel our age). Cute interior with a lot of mood lighting and mid-century modern furniture (I just moved, I've got furniture on my mind lol), and the speakers are *loud*. Bring music festival earplugs and save your ears.

This place could be so COOL, unfortunately it's not. We've been to several "speak-easies" and the vibe inside is always cool and the drinks are remarkable. Blind Barber has a great front and entering through the barber shop was cool but once we got in we felt like we were in a below average super loud bar with average drinks and no dress code. We had one drink and left. Bartenders were drinking with patrons ignoring the other guests very disappointed.

This place was so cool and I had a great time. You enter through the barber shop. The back door leads to a speakeasy style bar. It's a small space with tables lining the walls and a bar in the back. When you go upstairs it leads to a larger space with another bar, a DJ and dance floor and lounge style booths. Specialty cocktails are $14 each and they made them strong and delicious. They also use unique liqueurs and ingredients you don't typically see in drinks!

Good place. If you are looking for a genuine cocktail, this is not the place you are looking for. Same for if you want a quiet drink. This is a hoppin' spot! Saturday night was when I went and there was a live DJ si... Nonetheless, the 2 cocktails I had were spot on even if it was chaos there for a minute. But they are fast cocktails, not ones that the tender puts TLC into. You want a fast drink and a dance atmosphere, come here.

Nice speak easy, I enjoyed walking through the barbershop. There is a line to get in. This location has two floors, the first floor was too packed so we decided to stay on the first floor. We had a nice time. The bartender told us he didn't have change so we had to end up paying drinks on a card.

Worse barbershop ever. First time I was there, it was ok, average quality cut. Second time the guy was hitting my skull with the clipper, like pretty rough, wtf is that, like passive aggression or something lmao, I thought maybe the hair would look good at least, but no the haircut was atrocious. And this haircuts are 55 freaking dollars, just hilarious. Third time was the worst. i was driving there for 40 minutes through traffic, so I was 10 minutes late, just on the corner and they cancelled my appointment and charged me $27.50 for no reason, as some kind of cancellation fee. I dont even know where they took my credit card number from, probably they wrote it down when I was previous time and saved it in the profile without my consent, which is already violation I think, and then on top of it charge me for the appointment THEY CANCELLED. NEVER GO THERE, WORST PLACE TO GET THE HAIRCUT

Came here on a Friday night for HH with my girls. We had a reservation for 5:30 but didn't end up arriving until 7 but we're still able to snag a table. The vibe is super intimate lots of dim lighting and candles. If you don't come here for anything else come for the espresso martini. Def one of the best in the city. They have light fare menu so I would suggested eating before you come or pregaming before dinner elsewhere. We tried the Ceasar salad which was great and the caprese grilled cheese that was just okay. It gets pretty packed around 9p when the DJ arrives and it's a small night club or lounge vibe. 3 stars vs 5 due to issues with service at the top floor bar. Bartender ignored me. Took 20 mins to get a cider and a house red. Guess they didn't like the cut of my face? It happens, but it could happen to you. Seriously, it was weird. I'd said nothing to them beforehand, gave the occasional 2 finger wave, they definitely saw me. I got the cold shoulder, couldn't help feel like it was personal. I've worked as a bartender before, I get it, things get busy. It wasn't, I caught their eye between waves. Door staff were friendly, inviting, 5 star, as was the downstairs bar. Will change to a 5 star if my next visit goes well, could have been an off night for them.

The Blind Barbrr is a guaranteed good time. The drinks are good, the vibes are great, sometimes it gets a little packed in there. I recommend this place to my friends all the time. They lose a star just because the music isn't great. It's usually top 40 on repeat. The first time going there is great because you know all the music, the fourth and fifth time the music gets annoying.

New favorite place for dancing! Another great spot in philly that recently opened. This place is so cool! Who would have known there would be a lounge in a barbershop! It's hidden and it gives you speakeasy vibes. The DJ was awesome and the drink are great too! They even have a bar bites menu that I will certainly indulge in once I return! Sometimes you want to go where nobody knows your name. Specifically, a cozy lounge on Valentine's Day with your other single friends. We thought this hidden bar behind an actual, functioning barber shop would be a safe bet to not run into anyone we knew... like my friend's ex-fling... on a romantic date with their current partner. Well, all bets are off at the Blind Barber! Expect the unexpected, starting with the second you walk through the door. It may feel strange to walk into a barber shop like you own the place, greet the clients and stylists, then ask where the bar is. I guess it is a bit strange, but this bright, white, immaculate barbershop is a perfect beard for the speakeasy behind its walls.  Something you can count on is the swanky, retro atmosphere that typically comes with a hidden lounge. Lush velvet booths, black and white tiled flooring, floral wallpaper, and dim lighting are exactly what we signed up for.  Just when I was getting comfortable, Blind Barber threw me a curve-ball by making me question my sexuality. Up until now I had only considered myself sexually attracted to humans, but the apple, Manchego, Fontina, and spinach grilled cheese was a real game changer. One look at this snack and I immediately wanted it inside me. If falling in lust with a sandwich on Valentine's Day is wrong, I don't want to be right.  Here's my tip: gather your crew, see what the buzz is all about, and get faded.

My husband took me here for my birthday in the middle of the day or just as happy hour was starting. The inside is beautiful and nicely decorated after you pass the barber shop and enter the bar. The service, drinks, and food left much to be desired. They had a different menu that the one online so we used the new menu they provided and tried to place an order. They later came and told us that the menu has changed again and they don't have many of the items we ordered even though they were on the menu we just got. We were disappointed but settled on some other items. They had sat us near the farthest back end of the restaurant where no one could see us, so we had very slow service. Most of the time one of us had to go find them to hail them down. The restaurant was almost empty so not sure why we were sat so far in the corner, or why the service was so slow. The food and drinks eventually came but nothing was memorable. I don't even remember what we got. Maybe they are still recovering from the pandemic so I didn't want to give lower than three stars, but based on my one experience, they have a lot to improve on. I would go back if they had an updated menu and better drinks, and more servers.

This speakeasy really delivers! To start the barber shop entrance makes it feel like an exclusive experience! The dark ambiance makes it a great date night place for cocktails! The espresso martinis are some of the best I've had in the city. The perfect amount of vanilla and cinnamon flavor! Great service as well. Will definitely be back!

Nice little vibe downstairs and once you drink enough you can take that energy upstairs. The drinks were really good too.

Haircut I received was incredibly disappointing. Wanted to invest in a good haircut before school started and received a rushed and uneven cut with a chunky fade. Would've been better off at great clips.

As another reviewer said, this place COULD be so cool, but it doesn't cut it. As a craft cocktail enthusiast, I always seek out speakeasy style places in every city I visit. Unfortunately, due to Covid, many Philly speakeasies are currently closed. We decided to try the back room at the Blind Barber and were very disappointed. While the space is well decorated, the music is very loud playing club music, the cocktails (while priced $15) aren't any better than what you can get at a cheap dive bar. Really basic and not worth the price or the headache from the noise. The server also wasn't friendly and had an attitude. Would not recommend.

I'm hoping this 5-star review doesn't lead to overcrowding at my favorite Philly speakeasy, but I cannot praise Blind Barber enough for providing an extremely lively (and nicely air-conditioned) late-night space that provides the perfect ambience for both dancing and just hanging out. It's never been too crowded anytime I was there and there's always plenty of room to move around, as opposed to pretty much any of the other late-night venues in the city. I'll definitely be coming back often!

My partner and I love speakeasies. So when learned about this place it was a must visit. On a date we walked in and he was super confused(we're both bald) as to why we were in a barbershop. Well to say he was pleased would be an understatement. The drinks were nice and the server was cool. The only thing keeping it from a 5th start is how loud the place got. Didn't give the classic speakeasy feel. But for the surprise element, I will bring future guests here.
