Google
Love this place! Great for casual dinner and a beer - especially if you’re looking for a place with really good vegan and non-vegan options. The vegan pesto fries were definitely the star of the table and the sauces were perfect! Will definitely come back next time I’m in SD.

Google
Go here! One of our favorite spots in San Diego. Great pizza, recommend the Crispy Prosciutto, the dough / crust is incredible. Really nice beer selection, great atmosphere and decor, the staff are very good and friendly.

Google
4th visit. It doesn’t completely negate the previous 3 but our experience recently was fairly subpar. The pizza was burnt and the Caesar salad was straight up watery. Flavor was there but it seemed like someone skipped spinning or drying out the lettuce. Also, there is a new automatic $1.50 upcharge since it is served with a HALF of a soft boiled egg because…inflation?! I asked politely if I could have that removed but got a curt answer about how their POS system doesn’t allow for changes. Ohhhkay. Maybe you need to think about your POS system that reacts to real needs of customers. Orrr…just absorb a little bit of the cost occasionally if you want repeat customers. It is lovely the pours were only $6 🍻 so a total plus. The fries we ordered were really bland and not the best texturally. They advertise they show Wave soccer games but apparently their Apple TV was “broken;” according to an employee who just seemed mystified by my inquiry. We will probably return but I hope things get better.

Google
I come here for beer and pizza 🍕 often. They have amazing pizza. I tried almost all flavors and they were all tasty. The crust is exactly the way I wanted. I really their pesto fries as well. They also have a good selection of beer. I just found a tropical beer - Drekker Chonk- that i really liked. I’ll be returning soon.

Google
We had a team dinner at here and tried out some different types of pizzas. I really like the atmosphere at this place, so fun and their pizzas are delicious. My favorite is the mushroom one. Their pizza crust is thin and fluffy, it’s more like a Italian style pizza, also a little bit like New York Style as well. Their beers are tasty. It’s a very cute spot for friends gathering.

Felicity

Google
Great vibe, great atmosphere for a small gathering. We had live music at the time of our dinner but honestly the music was definitely too loud. I could hardly carry a conversation with the person sitting next to me. Food was good. Hazy IPA was great(forgot the name). Great spot to hang with friends, but overall food was just so so.

BLAH is a slice of heaven. They have salads, desserts and pie specials that will blow your mind. Always diverse special beers on tap and the pizza oh, the pizza, legendary.

Google
What a unique place, full of vintage items and an amazing beer can collection. We ordered pizza, and it was great; the service was super friendly, and last but not least, great beer! An eclectic, friendly, affordable spot.

Yelp
Monthly hangout with my Navy buddies, and someone picked this joint. Great beer selection from all over the country, so there is something for everyone, and the staff actually knows the beer profiles do they could make recommendations. Pizza was also good, as we tried several and enjoyed them as well as the fries. Ambiance is beer haus dungeon, service was st the counter, and prices are in line with expectation. Good joint!
google avatar

Yelp
Always a great tap list at BLAH. Fridays 12-6, they have $6 pints. They also have a few different items on their lunch menu and don't serve certain items for lunch. For example, Moules Frites is only served during dinner time. Service is always friendly. Make sure you know your table number when you go up to order food as they bring it to you. Food has never disappointed. We've gotten, pizzas, salads, fries and they've all been good. It can be a little dark inside and loud if they have live music in the evening. However, before all that, it's a great spot for a working lunch or to bring the family.

Yelp
Blind Lady Ale House delivers the perfect combo of amazing pizza and fresh salads! Their pizza is beyond delicious--the crust is perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and baked to perfection. The toppings are super fresh, and they have great options for both classic and unique flavor combinations. Every bite is packed with flavor! The salads are equally impressive--fresh, vibrant, and loaded with top-quality ingredients. They're the perfect complement to the pizza, offering a refreshing balance to the meal. The laid-back, cozy atmosphere combined with their killer beer selection makes this place a must-visit. Whether you're a pizza lover or a salad enthusiast, Blind Lady Ale House nails it every time. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I love, love this place! Have you ever walked into a place and felt like you've been there before? That's how Blind Lady Ale House feels to me, a special kind of déjà vu mixed with comfort. My first visit was a couple of years ago, and it was nothing short of magical. It was a Thursday night, my friend, knowing my love for live jazz, found this hidden gem. And it did not disappoint! We were incredibly lucky to snag a table right in front of the stage on what happened to be an open mic night. The atmosphere was electric. The universe must have been smiling on us because the musicians were phenomenal. Picture this: a drummer who could pass for Sting's twin, a keyboardist with Woody Allen's quirky charm, and a bassist who completed the trio. The music? Absolutely unreal. The kind of night where you wonder if you've accidentally walked into a secret jam session of jazz legends. And the food? The pizzas were on point, crispy yet chewy crust, and flavorful, just what you need to accompany the night. Plus, the craft beer selection is vast, with something for every palate. Blind Lady Ale House isn't just a place to grab a drink; it's where great tunes, delicious food, and a quirky, laid-back vibe all meet for a night that you'll wish you could hit the rewind button on.

Yelp
I had the pesto fries here and it was just okay. I think the fries would taste better if it was a sauce instead of the powder on the fries. The pizza was amazing! A must get if you're going to come by. Over all the ambiance was nice , chill, great happy hour spot with your friends. They also had a live band!

Yelp
Sorry for not a ton of pics you'll have to see for yourself on how awesome this place is. Look for the tiger (tiger) portrait and you'll know you're in the right place. For start's it's efficient, stand in line for ordering, trust me they are fast! Margarita pizza or mushroom will do quite fine. Usually an awesome DJ actually spinning wax on weekends. Want to watch a classic on VHS? Yup they got it, always the best. Dune,LOTR, whatever you want and guess what service so good they don't let you watch the block going to the corner for the next movie!! (The Office reference)...

Yelp
I have been here a handful of times now and am always left satisfied and excited to go back. The staff are always very helpful and sociable with great and honest recommendations. It's a darker setting on the inside but it gives the place a warm, cozy feeling. Great beer & even better food!! My most recent time, we got the Basilicata Pizza (i think it was a specialty pizza) and it was SO DELICIOUS. I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled for it on the menu next time. I've also had the Moules before and they were delectable.

Yelp
Just a review for their beer selection - which I really enjoyed! My favorite of the evening (we shared a few) was the Good Chat from Seek Brewing. It was really busy inside with a lot of people enjoying their meals, so I'd assume that it's got solid food too. Bonus points because they had fall-themed snoopy decor on the outside.

Yelp
Great place to visit with family or friends! Simple item foods and great choice of drinks. My co workers had a gathering after work and it was my first time visiting. I didn't get to really try the food but had a few drinks. Service was great and very friendly staff.

Yelp
Favorite pizza spot in San Diego. I've been going here for years, and I've found the chorizo pizza and the mountain meadow mushroom pizza as my favorites. Definitely recommend the mussels here too!!

Luke R.

Yelp
Margarita pizza on og fortnite day? Can't get better than that! Mexican coke also goes pretty hard with the pizza.

Tamara P.

Yelp
In all of two min waiting for a table - the hostess leanne and owner Dan decided to target our party and deem us questionable for the high caliber of dining experience that pizza and beer requires. I remember when this establishment opened - and will now never return. Good luck - RIP tiger tiger

Yelp
I've heard really good things about their pizza and fries, however this place is always so packed I can never get a table to eat. They also have a wide range of great beer and even ciders for non-beer drinkers. I wouldn't recommend coming here with a big group specifically on weekends. My friends and I tried to reserve a table after work on a Friday, the website does say large reservations aren't guaranteed so someone arrived earlier to get in line as well but it took almost 2 hours. I'll have to try going with a smaller group on a weekday to hopefully try the food.

Yelp
This place is great for different types of pizza and they have a great beer selection! Definitely has a good vibe inside with loud music and large tables. Great beer selection as well and staff are friendly and efficient !

Yelp
One of my favorite pizza and favorite beer spots in San Diego! All the pizza has been fantastic and I love their rotating menu. I've loved just about everything I've tried from it and nothing has ever not hit the spot. Busy times can be a bit overwhelming - it gets loud, it gets crowded, it can get pretty warm. Not necessarily a fan of weekend nights because of that but now you know to avoid then if that also isn't your thing. When I lived in the area my favorite was coming here sort of early to study/work and grab a bite and a pint. Workers are always a joy. I moved out of the area so I only get to pop in very rarely these days but when I was local they used to vegan items on the menu that blew my mind. I'm not vegan myself but I would specifically come here each week to try those items and LOVED it.

Yelp
Such good beer and pizza! 10/10 The staff was super friendly and gave me lots of samples to try to find the right beer! Super helpful!

Yelp
Somehow BLAH made their amazing pizza even better than what I remembered. Came here on a Sunday night. The place was lively, but it was still easy to find tables. We shared a Pesto Pizza with Sausage. The pizza came out in a timely manner. The crust was crispier than what I remembered, without being burnt. I loved how packed the pizza was with pesto and arugula. Super flavorful without being too salty.
google avatar

Yelp
We came for their Thursday night live Jazz music. We sat fairly close to the band and it was really loud which made it difficult to talk so you may want to get a table further away. They have a wide selection of beers but they also had a couple of cider options and wine. We got the pizza with sausage and fennel and it was really good

Katie Y.

Yelp
The best pizza in SD -- especially their Margherita! Perfect crust, yummy sauce, and tasty cheese. There are other delicious options in the county, but nothing quite so satisfying! All they need now is a vegan caesar. And they have a great vibe all the time. Please please please open up a north county location (but if not we will still make the trek back into the old neighborhood for BLAH 'za!)

Yelp
Nick, the bartender was amazing. I have been searching for a bartender whose nice and welcoming for about seven months now and sadly places haven't met up standards except for this place. I came here after a stressful Nyu mixer where there was so many AV wires I couldn't even think, after coming in contact with nick all my worries left my soul and I listened to some amazing jazz

Yelp
I might have found the perfect hangout spot. Food & Drinks: They have some fantastic pizzas but the star of the show is their Ernesto Fries. Those are some of the freshest fries I have had in a long time. A point to note is that any other fries, when doused with sauce, get soggy and soft, these fries don't, I don't know how these people achieve that. But I am so so happy that they do. Seriously good fries y'all. I loved their Salsicci pizza too, crispy base and gooey on the top. They have some good options available in pizza, ranging from your pizza joint regulars to some more personalized pies. They have a great selection of beers on tap. I tried a couple and liked them all. Ambiance: Amazing vibe. They have some good music playing and there's loads of seating. Service: The staff is very sweet to help you get seated. We waited about 15 minutes while having a beer at the bar) before we were seated. The food came out pretty quickly while still hot. So, nothing to complain about. In-all: great hangout spot for visiting with friends or a casual date night even. Parking of course is a nightmare in the area as the place has no parking of its own and you will have to find street parking.
google avatar

Heather S.

Yelp
I have been a customer here for years but have never written a review, after unfortunately having to post a few negative reviews for a couple other places I decided I should say something positive about a place I go to all the time. The staff is great Nick who is the newest member of the team is very nice and accommodating. One suggestion I do wish they had pretzels with beer cheese .
google avatar

Yelp
Combo pizza is the best, ask for a side of chili oil. Bar staff is friendly and food comes out fast

Kaylie B.

Yelp
cozy spot over in Normal heights. Service was friendly and portions were decent sized for food and drinks :)
google avatar

Yelp
This place is known for their pizza, but I have to say it was a miss for me. We got the Thanksgiving pizza which wasn't that good in my opinion. They put cheese, mashed potato, pull pork and had a side of gravy to dip your pizza in. The best part was the homemade chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The inside of the bar was pretty cool had old skate boards hanging up and old school beers can. The service was good we got seated right away and our food came out quick.

Ayla C.

Yelp
Love blind lady! Great pizzas, beer selection, and atmosphere. I also always love getting the fries here. They come with three great dipping sauces. All around fun spot with great food
google avatar

Hiral S.

Yelp
Blind lady was a past favorite and we decided to revisit it one Sunday evening, the ordering system has changed. You first pick a table and then order the food. We got a margarita pizza and then a salad. The pizza was meh - more tomato paste, less cheese and no basil. It was very different from what it used to be, the salad was also mediocre. I was really sad because this used to be one of my favorite places but not anymore.
google avatar

Martha W.

Yelp
I really like Blind Lady, as the food is good, atmosphere is fun and they usually have beer I like. On this occasion I was a bit disappointed in the selection of beer, as they didn't have a very good selection of the type of IPA I like. They had a few double IPA's and a few hazy ones but those are not my favs. The staff were not as patient as I am used to and I felt rushed to decide on one. The pizza is good, but a bit on the expensive side. Overall I do still like the place very much.

Tanishka B.

Yelp
Great beer. Great pizza. The crust was to die for. We ordered the Burrata pizza recommended by the server. Absolutely loved it
google avatar

Shawn P.

Yelp
Whoa. Finally stopped into Blind Lady Ale for a proper taste and drink. Nice selection of beer to choose from but the pizza is some of the best I've had in SD. Menu has both your pizza joint staples and 20 other flavors for you to dabble. I went with the 3 Meat as an intro to BLAH and it was delicious. Quality toppings, great sauce, and amazing crust. Well done BLAH, Well done. Cool pizza pub vibes. Will be back for sure. Highly recommend Thursday night jazz here as well
google avatar

Yelp
PIZZA HANGOUT - food, good - price, decent - service, good Interesting decor. Seems like a fitting place for ab.Normal Heights! It definitely has an 'everybody knows your name' feel to the vibe. No TVs, plenty of tables, and a good space to grab some eats and drinks over hangouts and conversation. Make sure you to ask for their lunch menu because the dinner menus are displayed but the lunch pizza can be smaller and prices are cheaper. MARGARITA PIZZA - lunch 10inch $8. The pizza Are made fresh with fresh ingredients. The crust is thin crust and baked well with a nice crispy crunch. There was something different about their sauce, it had a kick of pepper/spicy but very subtle and I really liked it! They bake in the basil as well as add fresh pizza to the top (to me that's a good Margarita). The tips of the pizza triangles sag a bit and the toppings do slide off, so either the crust is too thin for the toppings, toppings overdone, or the middle of the pizza doesn't get baked as well... Either way, be prepared to fold your pizza or hold the end before taking a bite. I didn't expect this to happen on such a small pizza but it did. Usually it bothers me but this one didn't. The pizza was still delicious. I'll need to come back and try other pizzas. Until the next review...
google avatar

Nick Y.

Yelp
I really liked this spot. The pizza was real good and the beer was great. The location is great and overall has such a good vibe. Every employee I talked with was super knowledgeable and had great beer recommendations based off what I typically like. Definitely going back soon!
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered a beer. The keg tapped halfway through the pour. The lady said I could take the half pour. But the manager (I think) grabbed it and gave it to his friend instead. So I guess friends over customers at BLAH. Unbelievable service. Snagged my damn beer from right under my nose. I've never experienced anything like it.

Yelp
Blind lady has been a part of the San diego craft beer scene for quite a while, and I'm not sure why I have never checked it out sooner. Well, better late than never right? We started with an IPA and a Saison and a glass of rosé. Wine was room, temp and kind of average, but both beers were delicious. We also had the citrus salad & it was ok, wish I had ordered the Caesar. The menu also offers charcuterie, beer nuts, Frites & moules but in my opinion You cannot come here and not order some of their delicious pizza. Since summer tomatoes are at their peak, we decided to try the tomato Burrata with basil and it did not disappoint. The crust was perfectly cooked and not too thick and the sauce was well....It tasted just like summer! Add a full ball of Burrata on top & what's not to like ? We also sampled the Salsiccia which is their house made sausage, rapini, fontina, etc. yum!! Seriously great pizza and there are at least 3 or four other ones I would like to give a try next time I'm in like mountain meadow mushroom ....walk up, order, grab a table & enjoy the chill relaxed vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here for Jazz night and it was a great way to spend an evening. They have a great beer list, I've enjoyed every beer we ordered. I didn't think I'd be impressed by the pizza (there's a lot of great pizza in this town) but it was so delicious and up there on the list with the other greats! Overall this is a fun spot to hang out, drink some craft beer and enjoy delicious eats.
google avatar

Lina N.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday night. They weren't that busy but our little pizza took forever because they burned the first one. We weren't accommodated for it but I appreciate the waitress's honesty. It has really nice vibe and good place to hangout with friends. Have a great selection of beer. However, the pizza wasn't impressive. I would come back to give their pizza another chance.
google avatar

Gem R.

Yelp
BLAH is consistently good; never fails to please. We always get the egg pizza + truffle fries, but last night we saw that they had a burrata pizza special and went for it. Love burrata, and they put a generous heaping of it on top! The fries this time came with one of 3 dipping sauces that I hadn't had. It was like, sour cream and chives, so it tasted like eating Ruffles sour cream and chive potato chips, but with Belgium frites instead! I also ordered a pretty strong and sweet stout, definitely meant for sipping, and it came with a piece of chocolate! Score! So glad they're surviving the pandemic! Go on a Thursday if you like live jazz.
google avatar

Kim T.

Yelp
I've been coming here sporadically over the last few years and they've been consistently great in beer options, food quality, and friendly service. It's a great place for a date or with group of friends. Beers are always rotating so you don't get bored of the same ol options!
google avatar

Yoli C.

Yelp
Wednesday jazz was a good time. Pizza is yummy! I wish there were more selections of food. I'd definitely come again.
google avatar

Kim P.

Yelp
Pizza, beer and good vibes - that's what you'll find at "BLAH". Their selection of beer has something for everyone - and regularly offers Pliny the Elder. The pizzas are also yummy, using fresh ingredients and delivered promptly hot out of the oven.

Yelp
We tried the spicy salami and chicken pesto pizza. I had one of the beers. The beer was good and pizza was amazing. I actually preferred the chicken pesto which is unlike me. I usually prefer more traditional style pizza. Although this is one of the pizza places where you bite the pizza and all the cheese comes off with it. I don't love that.
google avatar

Michelle W.

Yelp
Really cute spot! I appreciate the very chill vibe -- dark wood, lots of old knick-knacks decorating the walls... like their wall of beer cans! When you come in, they give you a table number, and then you order at the counter. They give you a number for your table, then you go find your table. They have plenty of beers. Ordering at the counter can get a bit messy and may have a wait because people sometimes want to ask about the beers (myself included), but the people at the register are all very friendly and happy to give samples and recommendations, so waiting isn't that big of a deal. I ordered the mushroom pizza -- this came very highly recommended. It does not disappoint. If you are into thin-crust pizzas and white pies (i.e., no tomato sauce), the mushroom pizza is delicious! Different assortment of mushrooms help to give it a nice umami flavor. I also ordered the special salad and was surprisingly pleased with it. I like how they put a lot of mix-ins into the salad that helps to give it flavor, and they tossed it with a light vinaigrette style dressing.
google avatar

Amy D.

Yelp
I adore BLAH. They always have really great beers and their pizza is fantastic. The Belgian frites are also superb. Nice music and atmosphere as well. Gotta love the $6 beers on Friday before 6pm!
google avatar

Cheyla L.

Yelp
Excellent. The pizza here is exactly what I like, thin crispy crust with a chew. The chorizo pizza is FIRE! Really enjoyed the 3 meat pizza as well. The beers were good and the live music was really fun. We'll definitely put this on our regular rotation!
google avatar

Inbar G.

Yelp
This is one of the best spots to grab a beer in normal heights, and hands down wins for my favorite pizza. It's usually busy though, so keep that in mind if you're on a a tight schedule. Fun fact is you can ask them to do half the pizza as one type and the other half as another as long as they're the same sauce base! We did the eggplant special and the salsiccia and both were great!
google avatar

Pam B.

Yelp
So many delicious pizzas! Their vegan pizza is the best I've ever had. Great beers - big selection. Fun vibe. The staff knows their stuff!
