Blind Tiger Asheville (Asheville, North Carolina) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Whether it’s a hidden gem or simply a gem is up for debate, but Asheville, North Carolina is one of the most pleasant destinations in the American South — known for its modest size, its artistic and creative culture, and its spectacular natural surroundings. The same things that attract travelers presumably attracted Lark Hotels, the Northeastern boutique-hotel group behind the Blind Tiger guest houses. And Blind Tiger Asheville is true to form: a beautifully restored 19th-century Queen Anne–style house in Chestnut Hill, a few blocks to the north of downtown, transformed into a stylish 14-room guest house that makes a point of blending in to the local community." - Tablet Hotels

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Blind Tiger Asheville – Beautiful, Cozy, & Unique Stay (With a Few Things to Know Before You Go) #travelreview #Asheville #BlindTiger We had a surprisingly comfortable and peaceful stay at the Blind Tiger in Asheville! After driving 6 hours through traffic and construction, we arrived a little after 7pm — tired, hungry, and so ready to relax. The property has a charming, historic feel, and once we got settled in, the room itself was super cozy, quiet, stylish, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and beautiful, and the whole space felt clean, inviting, and thoughtfully decorated. A couple of things future guests may want to know ahead of time: Because we arrived after dark, it was difficult to spot the small signs showing where to park. We hadn’t received instructions before our drive (they were emailed just a few hours prior while we were on the road), so we weren’t aware of how to access the property. After checking in, we had to walk back down to the car, up a hill, through a stone path, and then up two flights of stairs to reach our room. My husband has a knee issue, so carrying luggage that far and uphill in the dark would’ve been a struggle — thankfully we had small backpacks we could manage. Once inside, though, everything shifted in the best way. The house was quiet, other guests were already tucked in, and the space felt warm and relaxing. The room itself was spacious and beautifully designed, the bed was beyond comfortable, and we truly slept so well after a long day of travel. The staff member we met at check-in was very kind and welcoming too. Overall, this is a lovely, historic place with tons of character — just be aware of the parking, stairs, and arrival setup if mobility or late check-ins are a concern. Once you’re in and settled, it’s a wonderfully cozy and restful stay! 💛✨ #HotelReview #HotelReviewer #NC #AshevilleNC Blind Tiger Asheville

If you like quirky charm that’s also super and cozy and comfortable, Blind Tiger Asheville is a must! The bedrooms are tidy with comfortable beds and updated bathrooms. Ours had a lovely soaking tub. The common areas were charming and the light breakfast and snacks were nice to have as an option. Although, for a truly substantial breakfast you need to go elsewhere. There are walkable dining options nearby and downtown is just a short car ride away. You could also walk if the weather is nice and you’re feeling ambitious. Overall great place in a fantastic location!

If a rundown vintage flop house is your style, you'll love this. It's not mine. And while I love unique experiences, I moved to another hotel within 2 hours of arrival. Beware, there is no elevator, and lots of stairs with no railing. With large bags, definitely a challenge. Also, if you rely on roller bags, the gravel drive isn't conducive. The epic view was in the bathroom, not someplace you'd normally hang out. All other views impaired by grimy windows and charming old school phone wires. I'd be delighted to share photos, but that option isn't shown here.

The Blind Tiger is not like anywhere. I’ve stayed before in Asheville. I have stayed at the Hyatt downtown when there was one available, and some other nice places. I found this place through the Hyatt when I was searching for accommodations where I could use my points. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly, and there were some nice community rooms and the grounds are beautiful. The room was very nice. I stayed in the Eden. It very accessible and I had a handicap parking space right next to the ramp that went to the room. Since I use a cane, it made things easy for me to get my suitcase and computer bag in.

With a Michelin Key, I had high expectations. The common spaces take the cake here. Very thoughtfully designed, with fireplaces blazing and music playing during "open" hours. Complimentary breakfast items (like granola bars, yogurt, fruit, bagels), coffee, snacks, and games cabinet are accessible to every guest. And the staff are all very friendly.||However, the rooms were a 3 for us. The bed was too soft (we both left with back pain), which I recognize is a personal preference, so that wasn't taken into consideration in my overall review. The nature of an old house means light seeps through the door cracks, everything creaks, and the window AC unit tries it's hardest but can't really property distribute air flow through the room. Our sink was also in the bedroom and our fireplace didn't work. ||All of these things I could have chalked up to 'quirks' of a reimagined Asheville estate, but the lack of in-room amenities was a big bummer for us. No TV (which makes sense because of noise concerns), no amenities (no coffee, snacks, or anything in room), and no wine or beer on property, anywhere, not even for purchase downstairs, made it impossible to actually enjoy the property. We would have loved to come back and buy a bottle of wine and read by the fireplace, but again, no option for that. Seemed like a silly oversight at a 4-star hotel. And yes, there were robes in the closet, but I need coffee to function (like many), so that meant having to put on clothes and shoes before going downstairs to get coffee. ||Overall, the design of the hotel is charming and quirky, I just expected more from a Michelin Key holding, 4-star hotel, in a competitive hospitality city like Asheville.

Google
such a comfortable and exquisitely well designed place to stay while I enjoyed the delights of Asheville. The room was immaculately clean, everything was fresh, and the free snacks in the parlor were much appreciated. The team is doing a great job. Please keep it up.

I recently went to Asheville to see how the recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene were going and to spend money at local businesses. ||I was going to stay at my normal chain hotel, but a friend suggested I stay at the Blind Tiger, a boutique hotel. I had never heard of it, but liked what I saw online. I can say online pictures don’t do this place justice. ||||The ambience and vibe is top notch and it is only matched by the staff. Carolyn and Erica were so welcoming, gave a great tour of the building, and made sure they gave business suggestions depending on what I wanted to see, eat or do in the city. They even sent text messages to make sure everything was good with my stay. Also, a part I love was there were no television in the room.|| ||I also learned the building is on the national register of historic places. Plus the hotel is one of the first hotels awarded a key in the newly created Michelin Key guide for hotels. I suggest a stay here when visiting Asheville or if you need to just get away and catch a vibe.

Yelp
stayed here for a quick little weekend reset and it was a lovely choice. We will be back! We actually got to check out two different rooms - one in the main house and one in the carriage house, because of a mixup in our booking (we got in late and didn't mind :)). A note to all- be sure to remember it's an old house with lots of steps for your luggage. First room (Krauss) had a larger separate seating area. Whoever designed and decorated this place did an incredible job sourcing high quality and condition beautiful vintage pieces. Everything was a vibe, while maintaining historical quirky charm and adding modern amenities. We moved over to the Five Points room the second night which was in the carriage house. It had a gorgeous fireplace and the bathtub we were excited to take advantage of! Text service was kind, quick and responsible. Everything was maintained great. We can't wait to come back and stay here again. Great location and close to downtown.

Yelp
Loved this place & its quirkiness. You definitely need to notice the fine print which I may not have fully but isn't a true B&B. However, there are plenty of free breakfast continental items and specialty coffees and teas for your enjoyment. Self service what you want and how ever much you want. Snacks and drinks always available. Saw a staff member 1 time in almost a 2 days; however, the modern & convenient text service works fantastic!! I did have to use & got immediate responses. So you feel like it's your home practically. The bed was super comfy and loved the room. Sink was in the room outside the bathroom which was added quirkiness, but it did have slow backup so we couldn't run the sink hardly. That was only hiccup which wasn't a big deal. You are fairly close to things and definitely short drives to others. Would definitely come back!! And a great price!! Free parking!!

Yelp
We decided last minute to stay the night in Asheville. This spot was a great value and not far from many restaurants and shops. We stayed on a Monday night and were the only ones in the main house. They did a great job with this place. Check in was easy and the employee was still there and gave us a tour and showed us to our room. The one room on the main floor had many mirrors so I asked if it was haunted. They said no and we never heard or saw anything that it was. The house was typical for an old home, floors were definitely not level. They have great snacks to offer. There were games to watch play. We played dominoes. They offer sound machines but the individual a/c units in each room are probably enough. Our room had a sitting room, bedroom and separate bathroom. Unfortunately I missed taking some pics here but recommend staying here.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend and really enjoyed our stay! The property is so quaint, beautiful, and well-maintained. Our room was very comfortable and the bed was one of the best we've had at a hotel. Complimentary snacks and drinks was a lovely touch and breakfast in the morning was convenient. The breakfast options are limited but served our purposes as we had early mornings. The location is great and the property is just a few minutes from downtown Asheville. We highly recommend staying here and would stay here again if traveling to Asheville!

Yelp
I loved everything about it! Cute with a Lord of the Rings cosplay kind of vibe. If you need a tv to fall asleep better bring a noise machine. Fortunately I was able to get nearly blackout drunk every night in Asheville so no worries there

Yelp
We had an excellent experience at the Blind Tiger. We switched from another hotel after sleeping poorly for 2 nights. The Blind Tiger staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and quiet and we slept great. Soft pillows, a sitting area, a dining table and beautiful bathroom. We will look for a Lark hotel in the future.

Yelp
Holli, so sorry, but there are no excuses for the condition of the property. If you all knew that the weather was going to be bad and that your heaters or furnace might not be adequate, then why did you wait until xmas eve to send someone out to buy space heaters? Lights that need to be changed in rooms and inedible small buffet breakfast is not a historic event issue. Especially when we paid over $400 a night which we were not given back for that night when we were aroused from the room we booked to a room that showed the walls had been painted around fixtures and paintings haphazardly. My standards are higher at that price. I hope you can take a realistic look at the property and either have the new owners fix the place up or lower your prices. We will not be coming back. And we were not alone in our experience. Good luck.
