Bliss 46 Bistro

I loved everything I had! The winter salad and pork chop were wonderfully balanced and flavored. Onion soup and coq au vin were also very tasty. Even the bread was served warm and crusty! I do like my food on the saltier side and I thought everything was great 😅 so keep in mind if you have a milder palette.

This was one of the best meals I’ve had in Sunnyside, no frills classic French cooking, whoever is working in that kitchen deserves a million dollars for the work they do!!! We had the duck, lobster ravioli, escargot, and bread pudding, everything was fantastic

I has been here 3 times in 1 month the price is unbelievable and the food r excellent.. service is outstanding, choices of wines,small but cozy reminds me of European vibe.. Will keep coming back

Surprisingly, this is such a nice small French restaurant. My friend moved into the neighborhood, and I was helping her organized stuff in her apartment and after that go out to eat. This restaurant will be on one of my favorite places now. Food is great even it isn't much interior decoration. My favorite menus are mussels, escargot, lamb chop, Pan seared Red Snapper. During busy hours the food can be slow, but I can wait for a delicious food and get to spend time with my friend.

Great neighborhood french restaurant! I've lived in the area for years and have walked past bliss bistro hundreds of times. Idk why it took me so long to come but I'm so happy I finally did! Maricel was phenomenal and the food was amazing! I loved my wine and the service was spot on! Will definitely be returning sooner than later, thank you again!

I visited this restaurant with my mom and was truly impressed. The food was delicious and prepared with such care, and the place has a warm, peaceful atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable right away. It’s a simple spot, but it has a special charm. I would definitely return. Thank you to Marcos and his family for taking such good care of us.

Delicious food with nice presentation and great service. Tried the mussels and quinoa salad for appetizers, and steak with spinach as my main dish. Will definitely be back!

I really don't understand why we have walked by this place so many times and never dined here. This week we decided to eat here. In a neighborhood that offers pizza, tacos, fast food burgers and pubs coming here was just very refreshing. It is a small French bistro with great service. They have live music on the weekends. A person on a guitar singing random songs. We thought the whole atmosphere was actually very cozy. They have a very nice menu plus offer a great selection of seafood and steaks. We started with the mussels and for dinner we had their salmon, truffle mashed potatoes with asparagus. Hanger steak dinner with mashed potatoes and and another one with fries. I have to say that everything was cooked perfectly. Another thing, after we made our order they brought us warm bread (we didn't have to ask for it) which we really enjoyed. For desert we shared a creme brulee. Their prices for dinner was so ridiculously reasonable. This is really a great neighborhood restaurant.

Perfect little Bistro tucked away in Sunnyside, with excellent food and reasonable prices. I came here for their Too Good To Go deal before, and with the "Reataurant week of the sides" going on now (i.e. $35 for a 3-course meal), I had to come back and dine in with some friends. We ordered the steamed mussles for our appetizer (and got the Escargots off-menu), then tried the salmon and ravioli for our mains, and finally the lava cake with ice cream for dessert. Everything was excellent, and reasonably priced. Some of the best salmon (perfectly cooked) that I've had in a while, and the mushroom ravioli were also really tasty. Being a bistro, there's about 15-20 seats in the entire spot, and we mostly had the place to ourselves on a chill Thursday night. Service was great, they took good care of us. Definitely recommend for anyone that wants a taste of good French cuisine out here in the Sunnyside / Woodside area.

Pretty quiet for Friday night, meaning easy to get a table. Servers were really nice. The ambience was chill with mellow french playlist for background... not fancy, this is a place to go if you wanna have french food that is not too expensive. However, i have to say my red wine chicken taste was...just alright. Didn't take my breath away. But i'll come back, I'll give other dishes on the menu a try.

Bliss 46 Bistro is a hidden gem of a French bistro is Sunnyside, Queens, just downstairs from the 7 train. Chef Esteban makes great coq Au vin, moules, steak frite and the best French onion soup. The prices are so affordable and the petite restaurant is charmingly decorated.

Very intimate little diner. We came for dinner for the restaurant lighting is dimmed. The place does look a little outdated, so a little makeover wouldn't hurt because the food is freaking amazing. The food is definitely the star of this place. Let's start with the biscuits it comes with 3 and butter. The bread is toasted and so crispy chedfs kiss baby... I got the pan seared salmon with mash patoatws w/ veggies. This was the best damn Salo I have tried in a LONGGGGG time, but the crispness and seasoning of the salmon will have knock ya mouth going crazy. The sauce pairs so well. I personally didn't like the veggies. Service is definitely is great!!!!

I found this restaurant while walking in the area. I wish I knew it sooner. The food is delicious, it is French style. I like that they offer all the vegetables I like such as Brussel Sprouts. With daily lunch specials for 20.00. It is a must have frequently.

Went with a group a while ago. Friendly service. Casual for a French bistro and right nearby the subway. Unsure of the prices exactly as they might have changed since I have been here so I am not including them outside of remembering they were very reasonable. I don't remember having a drink. They gave us some warm bread to begin. Tasty. The French Onion Soup/Gratinee Soup or a classic onion soup served with pieces of a toasted French baguette was tasty. Good base and not too light with plenty of cheese. Good version. My favorite of the main dishes was the Steak D'unglet With Pomme Frites & Haricot Vert or hanger steak with fries and green beans. The steak was cooked perfectly and the onion sauce (said d'unglet) was lightly sweet with plenty of richness. Outstanding dish. The Poulet Roti Aux Champignons with roasted chicken au jus with wild mushroom, mashed potatoes, and truffle oil was solid. I generally don't like truffle oil much but it was toned down here and the mushrooms were tender. Very tasty though the tender chicken itself could have more sauce. Also mushroom based was the Raviolis Aux Champignons or wild mushroom ravioli served with wild mushroom cream sauce. Ravioli had a good texture with plenty of mushroom. It would work as a vegetarian entree and it was fine. There's also an appetizer version of this. The Magret De Canard or seared duck breast with roasted fingerling potatoes, endive-gratinee, and red wine butter sauce is something I don't see on the menu currently. Properly prepared tender duck. Could have been a bit more tender but tasty. The Coq Au Vin listed as a classic French red wine chicken stew with bacon and mashed potatoes was solid as well. Typical version outside of it's more reasonable prices. Could have used a stronger demi but otherwise solid. For dessert, we got two. The Bread Pudding with vanilla ice cream and fruits was our preference of the two. Tasty and not too sweet with a good texture. The Creme Brulee was alright and one of the few things not cheaper than most other spots. It was fine. Overall, the bistro was solid. Not the best French food I've had but the prices were reasonable and a couple dishes in particular were outstanding. Low 4.

A total gem of a no frills French bistro with great food and service! On top of the regular menu of classic French bistro dishes, Bliss 46 also offers a list of exciting daily specials. Wine list isn't the most extensive but the bottles are priced so reasonably, making Bliss 46 a great go-to neighborhood spot. Their beurre blanc sauce which is featured in a couple of menu items is SO delicious and the red snapper from the specials menu was very fresh. Staff are friendly and the whole restaurant has a cozy, laid back vibe that welcomes many regulars. Do not let the humble appearance deter you from giving this spot a try! Bliss 46 takes food, wine and service very seriously and that shows.

This was my second time that I've been to this restaurant. The first time was years ago, so I don't remember it too well. The second time was during restaurant week. I did the prefixed menu where you get an appetizer, entree, and a dessert for $35. I got mussels in white wine sauce with garlic, shallot, and parsley as an appetizer, shrimp scampi with linguini pasta as an entree, and key lime pie (with a lot of whipped cream) as my dessert. They didn't have the dessert that I wanted, so the key lime pie was the substitute. Everything was prepared in a timely manner, and it all tasted great. The servers were very attentive and were prepared to take on any and all requests. The place itself had plenty of seating, and it was a Saturday night. Reservations aren't necessary.

Have lived 2 streets over for two years and can't believe today was my first time coming and Im blown away. Everything was delicious! We had the escargot, the French onion soup, coq au van, and steak. No misses! Incredible flavor, matched by remarkable service. It was such a nice treat to have a lovely singer performing some of my favorite songs. Can't wait to be back

I have mixed feelings about Bliss 46 Bistro. My husband and I have ordered takeout from this place before and had a decent experience. Last night was the first time we went in person, and I don't know that I would necessarily return. The food was not bad. It wasn't memorable or great, but it was okay. We were with friends and shared the charred Caesar and side of Brussels sprouts. The Caesar was good but could've used some shaved Parmesan on top. The Brussels sprouts had a decent char but were very undercooked (essentially raw). For entrees, my husband ordered the hangar steak, our friends ordered the sole and a burger, and I asked our server if she would recommend the coq au vin or the roasted chicken. She described the roasted chicken as being "more plain," so I went with the coq au vin. When the entrees came out, I was presented with the roasted chicken and noted that I had ordered the coq au vin. Rather than recognize the error, our server insisted that I ordered the roasted chicken (even though my husband and our friends also confirmed that I had ordered the coq au vin). It was not the end of the world, so I said I was fine with the roast chicken, but it was a bit off putting that I didn't get the dish I ordered and then was told I ordered the wrong dish. The server was right in that the chicken was very plain. It was juicy but could've used more seasoning. The mashed potatoes were okay but not warm (room temp). My husband liked his steak but also felt it was under seasoned and noted that the green beans were almost raw. Our friends seemed content with their entrees, or at least they didn't say otherwise. Overall it wasn't a terrible experience, but it wasn't necessarily positive either.

Really 3.8 stars Surprisingly good...we regret having waited so long to go. Very nice waitress, polite and attentive. Great service Ambience isn't bad at all. But the steak Au Poivre...very watery sauce and NOT ONE single peppercorn found. Still decent. Will be back.

Watch out! They will charge you extra on the bill if you don't pay attention, they tried to charge me double the price for the calamari, which was by the way horrible, extremely overcooked; wrong batter, soaking in oil and tiny portion. Made me nauseated afterwards. When I asked why price was different, rude lady owner couldn't even find it in their menu and just said it was a "special" dish. Sunnyside has great restaurants with great service, this is definitely not of them.

We had a delightful time at the bistro. It was not too Crowded. This is a nice place to take a date. Soft lights. The place as not fancy but the food was good. The have specials and dishes they can make make off the menu. The mussels were yummy in their own sauce. The seafood was fresh! They open pretty late.

I was very excited to go and try their prefix lunch menu, and when we got there, they were closed. So we pulled over and started yelping other restaurants in the area but before we left, we tried giving the restaurant another call. They finally answered the phone at 11:45 AM and said they were open so I guess whoever was opening was late. The restaurant was cozy, quaint, and nicely decorated with French posters and flowers. Our server was friendly, but barely spoke English, which I didn't have a problem with but if you're going to come by and ask us, "how's everything so far? ", and I tell you that the burger patty is horribly under seasoned, it's a problem when the answer is, " so everything is good so far? " I got the prefix lunch with the avocado and tomato salad, Coq Au Vin, and mango mousse for dessert. In hindsight, I should've chosen the ginger carrot soup (soup of the day). The dressing on the salad just didn't do it for me, and I'm all about the dressing. The red wine sauce for the Coq Au Vin was delicious, but the chicken really needed some salt. With just a little salt, this dish would've been excellent. The bacon and mushrooms helped carry the mashed potatoes, but not seasoned enough to carry the chicken. The mango mousse was pretty good, but not sure where it falls in French desserts. My husband opted for the Yankee burger, although he wanted the bacon-blue cheeseburger, but our server said that the Yankee burger had a bigger patty. We asked him what the burger weighed, as in 1/4lb or 1/3lb etc, he said he didn't know, but he said the Yankee burger had the biggest patty of the four on the menu. That doesn't make much sense to me since all three burgers were the same price of $16.49. And only the Bliss 46 burger was $12.39. I'm not sure why he didn't want to go ask the kitchen. The burger was assembled well and held up, but the patty was grossly under seasoned. If it didn't have all these toppings, the burger wouldn't be edible. The fries were also well-made. Again, some salt would've gone along way. It was almost like they forgot to season the meat. When I go back? Possibly if I was in the area, but I totally went out of my way this time and was disappointed. And someone really needed to empty that tiny little garbage can in the tiny little bathroom that was full from the night before.

Food was very good taste. Not salty at all. Everything was just perfect. Nice service, , comfortable and lovely place! Definitely I would love to go again!

March 2023 to April 3rd was the restaurant week in Sunnyside, Queens. Happily Bliss 46 Bistro was part of it. https://restaurant-month-2023.queenstogether.org/ This is my 2nd time eating at this restaurant. A Both of use had Moules Marinieres as appetizer. I ordered Pave de Saumon aux petit riz and my friend, Jana ordered Raviolis aux champignons as our entree. Very impressed that the salmon skin was so crunchy and the salmon meat retained its moisture. Delish! My dessert was a classic profiteroles and Jana ordered Mango Mousse. A big homerun again for this authentic French Bistro in Queens. I will return again.

I went by today with my family and it was NOT a good experience at all, the "owner " served us had a nasty attitude since the beginning, who tried to be sneaky and charge extra for an item she never specified the difference in price from reg menu, when I went to ask her about it she was arrogant and very rude. I miss the old owners who were the opposite and very kind and friendly. even if the food is ok I would never go back here also living in the same neighborhood.

This hidden gem is so good the food excellent , prices are so good service is excellent love it .

I recently dined at this spot and must say, the salmon stole the spotlight--cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The rest of the menu was equally impressive, and we particularly enjoyed the complimentary bread, a delightful start to a memorable dining experience. We also order through Ubereat and the fish is still perfect!

Just as lovely as last time. Reservation held. Asked if we wanted a specific table. How nice. BYOB as always and a fav of mine. Yummy onion soup and Caesar salad. Really good Yankee burger with smoked bacon and thin fries. I had pan seared Branzino with spinach and veggies. Absolutely delicious and not a bone in sight. Tiramisu and coffee for dessert. No more tart tatin big bummer. Their $28 3 course dinner is great for the price and actually all the prices are reasonable. Service is kind and helpful and sweet. Will be back.

Lunch time. Service is very slow (bistro means fast service), the waitress was the hostess, the cleaning person, and maybe even the cook, which justifies the delay. Not even a smile to welcome customers. The place needs remodeling but it is clean. The food is good, but unfortunately, my wife and I were sick the whole afternoon.

Wow!! What a fabulous dinner! My husband and I just had dinner, we wanted somewhere with great food , it's our 31st wedding anniversary, and we got it! The lamb chops are very tasty and done well, hanger steak was delicious. For an appetizer we had the sautéed calamari, extremely tasty, don't leave the sauce, ask for extra bread, it's amazing! We finished the night off with the bread pudding which warm and topped with ice cream and whipped cream! The waitress was so nice and courteous, we will definitely come back! Definitely!

This intimate restaurant in Sunnyside has very good food, amiable service with cloth table cloths and candles. Its ambiance is quiet and comfy.

I have been meaning to try this place for about a year, and I am delighted that we finally made it in. One quick note: they are BYOB. There are some liquor stores fairly close by, though not completely handy. So if you want wine with your dinner, plan ahead. As this is French bistro food, a glass of wine with it would be a welcome compliment. The food was completely delicious. I started with the onion gratinee soup which was very good. My friend had the carrot ginger soup and was apparently quite delighted with it as it was gone in about 90 seconds. For my entree, I had the steak d'onglet which was cooked perfectly to the temperature I requested and very tender and had a brown sauce that was remarkably delicious. My friend had the lamb shank which I tried and which was heaven. The service was friendly and efficient. The place is a little rough around the edges, but the white tablecloths set a nice tone, and the place has a warm, cozy, and inviting neighborhood feel. I will be back, and I will definitely tell my friends about this place. Highly recommended.

This place was great 2 years a go. Now terrible:( I order calamari they was SURER salty and contain lots of pepper . Tomato sauce was from the jar cheap one. Chicken soup was also extremely salty. Prefix dinner also a disappointment Salad include maximum 6 small salad leaves and 2 very thin avocado slices. Dessert not from the menu, but from local supermarket .

The food was very bland and there was only one waiter for the entire restaurant he tried his best but they are understaffed. My friend had the chicken and it was severely undercooked. The presentation of the food looks really good but we were very disappointed.

I came here with a dear friend on a weekday for dinner. We ordered the escargot (her first time!), pan seared salmon, and crevettes scampi. The escargot was in a garlic butter sauce, while delicious it was a bit too salty for the both of us. The star of the show was the pan seared salmon. WOW! This is a must order if you're here. The salmon was seared perfectly with a beautiful crispy crust. The mashed potatoes were delicious - not salty at all. The sauce it comes with is so good I wanted to lick my plate clean. The crevettes scampi was delicate and filled with lots of shrimp. I thought it was good, not too heavy. Overall, our experience here was fantastic. The service was great - the staff were so patient and friendly. I would definitely come back!

I came to this restaurant with my best friend to celebrate her birthday a few years ago. I remember the food was delicious. I told Hubby he should try the restaurant, but we never really got a chance to do it. Suddenly, one night he wanted to order something for delivery, and I mentioned this restaurant. We placed a delivery order, and Hubby was so surprised that the food was so amazing! So we decided to dine in one Saturday night. I forgot about the BYOB rule. Anyway, we had escargot and mussels for appetizers. Then I ordered chicken (poulet roti), and Hubby ordered a burger. It was the best chicken dish I've tasted for a long time. Once I heard that the French make the excellent chicken dish. Whether the Chef is French or not, I bet he went to a French culinary school or he could be French! Then a few nights after, we went back to dine with Hubby's friend. I had salmon, which I thought one of the best I've tried for a while. Hubby had the steak, and his friend had the branzino. Believe it or not, all the three entrees were amazingly perfect, perfect, perfect! Then we finished off with some nice desserts, chocolate mousse, and bread pudding! We had Daniel as our waiter one night. He was super attentive and a great waiter! We hope to try more dishes from this restaurant. Worth it!

I went to Bliss 46 for a retirement party and I was impressed. Nice service and great food. I will definitely recommend.

When a restaurant is a BYOB, it's hard already to hate the place but the best part is that they also offer a pre-fixed menu for only $19.99. WOW...like how can you beat a delightful dinner at that price especially with a three course meal. We came here with a part of 12 people so understandably the wait for our food was a bit long but I'm okay with it. When the food did finally came out, it came out right away and all the initial appetizer dishes were pipping hot. I loved my truffle ravioli but did wish there was a little bit more, though ever bite was delicious. Then after our appetizers, our entree came and I had their cod fish. The portion of my fish was huge and I loved how well it paired with the spinach and whipped potatoes. The fried shallot also added a nice additional flavor and I definitely recommend this dish. As for our dessert, it was okay. The profiteroles was a bit stale but the ice cream was yummy. As for decor, it's very cozy and romantic, especially for a neighborhood restaurant. It was dimly lite and the hung paintings just gave the restaurant an overall nice feel.

We ordered delivery from there once and it was pretty good. We decided to go in person to try it out. This was our first and last experience. 1) The "waitress" took at least 10 mins to take our order. In fairness to her, there were 6 tables there however there was an individual behind the counter that did absolutely nothing to assist, not even pour water. 2) The apps took 32 minutes to come out and still no water that I've asked for a few times. 3) The food comes an hour after the apps (the restaurant crowd thinned out by then) 4) She hands me a plate of chicken. I said I didn't order that yet she insisted I did. I explained to her that I stopped eating chicken over 15 years ago and that I always order fish. She rudely takes it back and doesn't offer a solution. 5) The red snapper dish my wife got smelled awful. It was still frozen in the center and the fish was old. We returned it immediately and asked for the check. 6) The check still had my dish's value on it and she charged us for the calamari appetizer as an entree and not for the price of the appetizer. 7) Also she had family members come in and they got service immediately. They had their food at least 20 mins before us and we got there an hour before them.

The waiter refused service. I believe based on my appearance. Discrimination and prejudice. I confirmed the restaurant.com coupon I purchased for $15 off $45 was valid in person only 2' weeks prior. I enter to sit down with coupon printed in hand. The restaurant was completely empty. The waiter made every excuse to refuse me service. I took my Business down the block My date was miserable.

Top notch bargain for the buck burgers. I won't say how much I paid because it will change over time, but it cost a little bit more than a baconator combo from the Wendy's across the street and a few bucks less than any of the gastropubs in the area. How many burgers in this price range can really wow you without *any* condiments? This one can, and it's done so consistently.

This is absolutely a date place! It's dark and quiet inside. It has an intimate setting, and my neighbor had mentioned it and how much she loved it, so then I had to try it. The vibe is for a post-college crowd, and it's BYOB. Our waitress was friendly without being overly intrusive. My husband and I came in on a Saturday night at 7:30 pm for a date night, so it was a popular spot. Some regulars at the table next to us suggested that we get the mussels...next time! The food is phenomenal, and it does take a while to be made, so it's not your place if you want something quick and fast. I found my filet de sol excellent. My husband's steak was so good. I think that the portions are fair. They serve dessert also. We had the creme brulee, and it was heavenly. Just perfectly done. The cappuccino arrives with a sugar crystal stirrer which was a nice touch. The only reason for the one star off is the spacing arrangement is tricky...we literally sat touching the chairs at the counter, so that was the only drawback. I would still recommend it for others to try and would absolutely return.

One of our favorite restaurants - food is great - Valentine's Day was a full house - long wait between courses but worth the wait ! Think they need more servers / kitchen help but still highly recommend !

This place is right off the 7 train in Sunnyside so you have NO EXCUSE for not visiting. It's really nice French-inspired food in a casual, neighborhood spot. No liquor license but hit up the liquor store 1 block away and BYOB. The snapper with risotto was absolutely delicious. I would stick with the entrees overall. I've tried a few and have never been disappointed. The burgers/sandwiches are good but why get that when you can get something great. Also, the French onion soup (if you can catch it) is so worth it!

The sleepy hood of Sunnyside is home to a number of underrated establishments, many of which don't ever get mentioned in the same frequency as its neighbors in Astoria, LIC, or the quickly gentrifying Woodside. Among the least noticed is the hood's only French establishment, Bliss 46 Bistro, aptly named after the Bliss St Station that is the 46th St stop while picking up from where the infamous Bliss Bistro of Skillman Ave (#1) left off. After his stint at Bliss as a chef, Esteban Rojas decided to do his own take on French Bistro fare after taking over the former Victoria's 11 Pizzeria and opened up shop on Thanksgiving Day close to 5 years ago. They've been the consummate intimate dinner / neighborhood date spot ever since despite being one of the less visible in the hood. Thankfully, it's less than a block away from the 46th St station on the 7 train. There is ample seating here, almost always. Of all the times I've visited, I don't think I've ever seen it truly busy. While groups galore could rule the joint, I've seen mainly couples or small parties as a majority of their patronage. The brunch hour is a good time to check this place out, though dinner is where I think they excel. The food here reminds me a bit of comfort food with a bit of French flair, minus the pretense, snobby attitude, and big city prices. Their version of Coq al Vin ($15) is somewhat bare bones; nothing more than some chicken stew over slabs of bacon and mashed potatoes, yet it's full of flavor. Their Steak D'Onglet ($19) is equally simple, a hearty sliced grilled hanger steak that is accompanied with vegetables and frites, bathing in butter. I still recommend the Canard Au Porto ($19) over all others, which is a oven roasted duck breast that has been seared in Port wine sauce and serveed with sauteed potatoes, corn, and bacon. The food does not try to anything more than what it is -- which is a solid, French based meal. Lastly, the service is fabulous. Though the vibe can be a bit slow at times, they've done a good job to keep flow of everything (food, drink, check, etc.) into a seamless experience. A side bonus: I once left my wallet here (without realizing it) and managed to come back two days later where they had saved it for me with everything in it. Terrible service waited +1 hr. for entree it never came , we left. The chicken soup was water and the best part was the bread and butter.They had no chef.

Reservations were quick and simple, service was prompt and friendly, and the food was excellent. Very cozy atmosphere with old world charm. While we were disappointed that we could not enjoy the price fixe brunch experience, we otherwise enjoyed our lamb medallion and mashed potatoes, shrimp scampi, calamari and grilled salad with medium rare steak in pepper sauce.

The food is good traditional french fare, but they could do a lot to make the ambiance more appealing. It feels much more like eating in a cafeteria than a parisian bistro. The food is pretty good, but as with most French restaurants in the city its on the pricier side compared to other cuisines. It is only a once in a while restaurant. I would come back more often if it felt cozier.
