We enjoy coming here for many reasons. Staff is pleasant, food is delicious, laid back vibe, & the owner is always friendly. I had the asparagus benedict and my husband had the morning skillet. The mimosas were also good. This is a true gem in the neighborhood and we will always stop by a few times a year.

I have been enjoying this place for a couple of years now, mostly for breakfast, and have never been disappointed. Nick and the crew do an outstanding job. The biggest problem I have is that every time I come here I can't decide what I want to eat. I love experimenting with building different omelets, but the breakfast tacos are difficult to resist. No matter what you choose you can't go wrong. I have only been here twice for lunch and realize I have so much more of the menu to explore. Im sure the lunch menu is every bit as good! I highly recommend giving The Blissful Banana a visit.

The Blissful Banana Cafe is a wholesome establishment. There are a few vegan options to choose from, and the services were friendly as well as professional. The vegan cusines have suitable portion sizes, and the ingredients are fresh. The only challenge is that the vegan cusines are lacking flavor; the avocado and salsa helped with the flavor a bit. The vegan cuisines will need a little enhancement. Update: Upon visiting again the second time, the vegan cuisines were spot on in flavor, and the services were welcoming and professional as the first visit. Compliments and praise to the chef on enhancing the vegan cusines flavor. This establishment is recommended to the vegan and vegetarian community.

I enjoyed the BBQ Southwest Chicken Salad; pretty damn good. They gave nice portions too. The only critique I have is the chicken could be a bit more seasoned. I also indulged in an iced pumpkin spice latte, and purchased a pumpkin and banana walnut muffins. The banana walnut was everything. The pumpkin one was not as flavorful and dry. The pumpkin spiced latte was great; packed with flavor and not overly sweet. Please stop and show this place some love.

I had a large biscuit with gravy & fried eggs. The dish was hot and pretty good. My favorite part of the meal was the homemade sausage patties that I added. They were large, slightly sweet, cooked well, and nicely-seasoned. Service was pleasant and friendly. I do have add, however, that their prices are a little high: $32.00+ for one person.

From the moment my man and I walked in, we were greeted with a warm, kind, and upbeat welcome that set the tone for an amazing experience. The coffee here is incredible—bold, strong, and full of flavor. I tried the Greek frappe with pistachio and white chocolate, and while it was on the sweeter side, it was absolutely delicious. They offer a variety of flavors to choose from, so there’s something for everyone. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was just as impressive. I ordered the “choose your own breakfast” and highly recommend the homemade sausage patties so flavorful and clearly made with quality ingredients. The potatoes were great as well seasoned perfectly, and a great addition to the meal. If we lived closer, we’d be back all the time. Great vibes, great food, and great people. We’ll definitely be returning!

Google
Avocado joke, not toast. This is the most insulting thing I've ever seen done to an avocado. I wouldn't order from this place again if it was the last restaurant on Earth. You can't even get avocado toast right—how pathetic is that? Nowhere did it say this mess would come drenched in chili flakes. My mouth is on fire, and I didn’t even make it halfway through this monstrosity. Let’s get one thing straight: it’s called toast because you’re supposed to toast the bread, not slap some sad, limp slice on a plate and call it a day. The eggs? I’m convinced they were still clucking. I’ve seen more life in a puddle. Runny doesn’t even begin to describe it, it was borderline raw. I’m literally getting nauseous just typing this while staring at what’s left on my plate. This isn’t just bad—it’s an embarrassment to food. Cooking 101 would laugh in your face!

Blissful in Orland Park: An Amazing 10-Star Experience Blissful in Orland Park truly lives up to its name. Our visit was nothing short of spectacular, deserving of an astonishing 10 stars. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a host who exuded warmth and friendliness, making us feel instantly welcome. The food at Blissful is both clean and delicious, prepared with evident care and quality. We tried the omelette, which was simply amazing, and the pancakes were absolutely delicious. What stood out even more was the impeccable service. Our server was incredibly patient and knowledgeable about the menu, expertly guiding us through the ingredients and options. She memorized our order after the first time with a smile and ensured our family was well taken care of. As someone with specific dietary needs—gluten-free, sugar-free, and carbohydrate-free—I was particularly impressed by their willingness to accommodate my modifications without hesitation. They made my meal exactly as requested, with grilled sliced tomatoes and no potatoes or pancakes, which is a rare and refreshing experience compared to other restaurants. Blissful's professional and friendly service, combined with almost no wait time and a pristine environment, makes it a true gem in Orland Park. I can't recommend it enough. For anyone seeking a delightful dining experience with exceptional food and service, Blissful is an absolute must-visit.

Yelp
I recently found myself in this area for my mom's doctor's appointment. Since I hadn't been here in years, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try a spot that's been on my list. The inside of the restaurant is charming, with a cozy coffee bar and an actual bar offering seating. The remaining tables are set up for breakfast or lunch, and we visited for breakfast. Our server was prompt, friendly, and attentive, which made the experience pleasant. Their drink menu stood out with unique offerings. One option, the Gorilla Coffee (made with mashed bananas), sounded intriguing. As I write this, I regret not trying it, but the holiday specials caught my attention. I opted for The Grinch, a peppermint matcha latte, and it was delightful. The warm, cozy flavors were perfect for the season, making it feel like a hug in a cup. For breakfast, I ordered the SECS, which featured homemade sausage. While the sausage was cooked well, it was a bit too spicy for my taste, making it slightly unenjoyable. My mom chose the sausage links, which seemed less spicy and more balanced. The biscuit accompanying the dish had a nice flavor, though it was a bit dry. The potatoes were very good though. Overall, the dish was okay but not particularly memorable. Before leaving, I grabbed a coffee to go, which was excellent. It had a rich, bold flavor that left a great impression. While I wasn't blown away by my entree, the quality of their coffee and the overall ambiance make this place worth visiting. I'd definitely recommend it for a fantastic cup of coffee, and I'm confident their other menu options are worth exploring.

Yelp
First time coming here. This place exceeded my expectations when I initially came here. Lines were out the door just to dine in here. They had a plethora of vegan options for my wife who solely comes here for their food. I settled for "Snarfs Vegan Scramble" myself and I'm not vegan and this food was incredible from start to finish! The portion size is absolutely worth your money too! Great selection of menu items I would love to come back and try. Staff here is absolutely friendly and kind. The owner even comes around and gets to greet everyone and makes sure everyone is doing okay! That's really great to see and see why this place maintains such a great rating. Really warm and inviting atmosphere! Would happily return!

Yelp
Very diverse menu....something for everyone Very vegan/vegetarian friendly The food ingredients are so fresh and the portions generous.... The service was promo, helpful and pleasant I had lunch but some women in my group had Breakfast which looked and tasted fantastic Come check it out...you won't be disappointed

Yelp
I'm obsessed with their vegan acorn squash! It's soo delicious. I typically choose roasted or crispy potatoes as my side. This meal has so much flavor, it's everything! I will admit I felt my potatoes were a little too crispy this time but still had flavor. We also ordered a couple drinks which were both good & strong. This was my 1st time actually dining in with Blissful Banana Cafe and the service was excellent. Nothing but good vibes here. There was a live musician, which was super dope. Only advice would be to based the volume off of the crowd. It was a little too loud. All in all I would definitely recommend giving them a taste

Yelp
The service was good but the food was just okay. It was missing something flavor wise. The "aioli" for the tacos wasnt good at all. What we did not like was the fact that we were charged a service charge on top of tipping. Idk if that is to pay for merchant fees or what.
google avatar

Eris T.

Yelp
The service was okay. Nothing memorable but also no red flags. The ambiance inside is not the greatest but luckily I was able to sit outside. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious and very fresh! This was my favorite item which I ordered. Unfortunately my main lunch order just missed the spot. I ordered the avocado toast. The toast was soggy and tasted like it had guacamole on top vs avocados. The flavor profile of the dish and other ingredients just didn't work.

Yelp
While visiting a friend, we decided to try a new to us place. I am so glad we did. We were greeted when we entered and sat quickly. Our server was super sweet, but it was the menu that was terrific. It had a some standards, but the variety of combinations had my head spinning trying to decide what to try. I had the cauliflower tacos. They were overstuffed. The pickled onions and salsa were delicious. On top of that, the coffee was delicious.

Yelp
I've been here quite a few times as I live in Orland but it's been a while. Probably an off day. The girl forgot to put my order in which I was wondering why it was taking so long. Then she gave me a free muffin. That was nice. Food came. Kinda only warm not hot. Wrong cheese but I still ate it it was good. It wasn't very crowded but it was a Tuesday. I'm going back hopefully better next time. If you are gluten free or health conscious this is a good place.

Yelp
Went on a weekend and was very busy, but friendly staff greeted us and sat us right away. Great variety on the menu I didn't know what to choose from! The sweet potatoe hash was a little dry for my liking. French onion soup was super flavorful and lots of herbs! Cappuccino was delicious. Portions are big! Will most certainly be back to try other menu items!!

Yelp
This place isn't too far from my grandmas house and had something to meet all of our dietary needs and preferences so it was perfect for brunch! We were seated right away, it wasn't too busy on a Monday. I got snarfs vegan scramble and an almond milk latte with marshmallow syrup. The scramble was amazing! I make a lot of tofu scramble but I don't cook a ton with chickpeas for breakfast so this was awesome! The latte was ok, I didn't taste the marshmallow at all in it. My sister got a skillet and so did my mom. My brother got the asparagus Benedict without bacon, my dad had an omelette, and my grandma had a waffle. Portions were big and filling! Everyone loved their food though! And good service too. So glad we got to come here!

Yelp
As I find myself writing this review I am not sure why I like this place so much but I do. I think it's the idea of the place, the name, the quaintness and the seeming variety on the menu for my non-meat peeps. This place won't excite pancake and steak lovers. I did not see any steak on the menu and their pancakes are fresh but not the best in taste and texture. Quality of bacon is good but too salty. I like that everything is fresh and good quality. The eggs. The potatoes I really liked. The homemade sausage was interesting and different which I tend to like things that are. They were a bit sagey and bland though. But fresh and different. Skillet ingredients were fresh. The caramel macchiato was decent. Overall, I would return. Oh. And they also have video gaming and a bar if u like that kind of thing lol.

Yelp
The online menu is at least 5 yrs old, stated by the manager. I ordered by phone , assuming the online menu pricing was correct, and was charged an extra $5 . When I talked to the manager, he said he hasn't updated the menu at all and it's from a previous owner and he hasn't gotten around to updating it. I feel that I should have been offered the online price, but I WAS NOT. I am very disappointed in Blissful Banana's blasé attitude.

Yelp
Delightful little grandma/grandpop place with outside seating. I ordered fruit and GF pancakes with a side of bacon/turkey sausage. Fruit was very sweet and fresh and made for a nice healthy appetizer while I waited for breakfast. The pancakes were large and had a nice texture for gf. I didn't really care for the turkey sausage patties as they were a tad bland but the bacon was very good. I would eat here again and would like to try more items on the menu.

Yelp
Cute restaurant, great service. I had a traditional breakfast, which was very good. My two friends had lunch. One had a salad and the other had a chicken salad sandwich. They said everything was delicious.

Mary B.

Yelp
Went to have breakfast after getting hair done nextdoor. Very disappointed for a 20.00 omelette with so called melted cheese on top, very burnt white toast and coffee. Omg tasted old and burndt. The servers need better presentation. Place empty for 11am. Says it all. Never again !!!!
google avatar

Matea P.

Yelp
To be candid, I thought their Turkey Club sandwich here was absolutely excellent. Their roasted potatoes on the side were nicely seasoned - it wasn't specified on the menu but I suspect they were oven roasted and seasoned with Parmesan, garlic, and herbs (a classic way to prepare them but it's a side I never get tired of). The reason why I gave blissful banana 4 stars is due to the fact I am a recurring customer and I tried many of their menu items. Some of their pastries I had were dry and you could tell they weren't baked fresh and left out for a prolonged period of time. It's also the fact that every single time I have walked into this place, there were only a few bakery items to select from (usually a couple of different muffins and cookies). When I come back, it won't be for a pastry but for their amazing sandwiches.
google avatar

Alysia C.

Yelp
I wanted to try the Gorilla coffee but was worried I wouldn't like it because I know banana can be pretty overpowering when using it to make vegan ice cream but the waitress was said she would make it for me and get me something else for no charge if I didn't like it. Turns out I loved it and drank it pretty quickly. I ordered the vegan acorn squash which was delicious I tried to recreate it at home twice and cannot get te flavor right even with using the same brand vegan chorizo so of course I will have to go back to eat more of this yummy food.

Yelp
Amazing drinks and amazing service! The staff are always so nice and it's one of my (as well as my cousin's favorite places to go for coffee! The atmosphere is so welcoming. A nice selection of food items as well. Their banana nut muffin was absolutely delicious.

Yelp
My wife recently decided to go Vegan, and we've struggled to find a spot with dishes that we both enjoy. Blissful Banana to the rescue! Amazing food and exceptional customer service...especially Melissa! BEST CHICKEN AND WAFFLES within 100 miles of Chicagoland. Sweet potato hash is . We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Want something different then your typical skillets and eggs ?? Blissful is the place for tasty different than the ordinary breakfast . The staff is always helpful with suggestions too It has a cozy coffee shop feeling that makes you want to stay and catch up with friends !!

Yelp
Great food and service. Have been here a few times and it now on our breakfast rotation for the Orland Park Area. Love the vegan and vegetarian options. Cozy atmosphere. Owner was super friendly.
google avatar

Eric K.

Yelp
This joint is yet another vegan-friendly option in Orland Park. I love the cauliflower tacos, but TBH, they don't need the sliced almonds. They usually have a good vegan special, and the banana dessert is just frozen banana, and it's delicious. They carry Palo Alto hot sauce and their in-house sauce, and it's a good one! Patio is nice in the summer! Stop in and grab a great meal! Good joint to go to if you have vegan friends or if you are the vegan friend.

Yelp
This was the third time I have been here and will now be my last. Service was great. Food, not so much. Ordered the Cuban Benedict. The meat was too well done, seems like it wasn't fresh and may have been from the previous day. I was with a dear friend so I didn't want to make a fuss. I just put this place on "THE LIST", and we know that once you are on "THE LIST", it's hard to get off of it. So long Blissful Banana. Wasted my money... However, the coffee was excellent.

Tony D.

Yelp
Food is always good and excellent service. Very pleasant people. A very comfortable atmosphere.

Yelp
Awesome coffee and many delicious food options to meet many different types of diets (vegan gluten free) . Family owned and operated and comfortable environment!!!! So glad to have them in Orland !!!

Yelp
My dog and I love this place! We walk from our house and enjoy the beautiful patio. Staff is great, love the owner! Such a nice guy. Breakfast tacos are my go to!

Karen W.

Yelp
Had really bad service! Visited Blissful Banana recently for lunch with a friend. The waitress was rude and at times inappropriate. She brought a to-go container for my friend but I had to request one. We were not asked whether or not we wanted desert. I ordered a cookie and was given a small gluten-free cookie; I had ordered/eaten half a sandwich earlier that was not gluten-free so I could not understand why this option was given. When I requested a "regular" cookie in its place, the waitress returned with a cookie that was at least three times larger. The cookie broke in half as a result of her tossing it on the table. My friend asked the waitress to explain the service fee that was on both our bills. The waitress initially implied it was related to the gratuity but when we pressed her, her English language skills became a problem. Since the negative attitude was only directed at me and not my white friend, I wondered if race was part of the problem.

Yelp
I honestly feel cheated, my experience was not like other Yelpers on here. The hour and the meal, was not supposed to go down like this. My boyfriend and I have been talking about coming here for months now. We've been on a whole food plant based diet for a month and were breaking the diet for "Blissful Banana." All the Pros: We sat right away late morning / early afternoon on Saturday * Clean * Masks worn by servers and staff * Cute little random coffee mugs * Great black coffee * Our server was super sweet * I dont even like pancakes but his peanutbutter banana pancakes were the best thing we ate * Menu options look AMAZING! "Chef-driven restaurant" WITH a Mission Statement ~ impressive, or.... Cons: I am addressing the chef: - Who leaves bay leaves (not one, but two) in the cold boxed "Cuban" rice that I was served?! What if a child ate that not knowing its inedible - serious choking hazard. My cauliflower tacos were cold and the tortilla was barely pliable. I asked for a side of red salsa to hydrate and bring the tacos to life; well, the salsa made me sick to my stomach the entire day. There were white unknown chunks (NOT fresh garlic, unfortunately) in the ramekin of salsa, and there was an acid flavor, much like that of expired salsa. The cold portobello mushroom burger had zero flavor, not even salt - stacked with non-chef-quality, non-uniform chunks of red onion. (I'm hung up on "chef-driven") He also got an avocado toast dish with seasoned chickpeas and half burnt potatoes on top that we did not care for. The tomatoes in my side salad and on my portobello burger were old and gritty. Zero pride taken in your execution. You have a Mission Statement posted on the wall!! Our kind server disappeared. It took approx. 20 mins after the meal was finished, plates to the edge of the table, to -NOT- get our check at which point I proceeded to the register. $70 for this!! Blissful Banana -- the potential of your business and concept is off the chart, especially for the area, and with plant-based options thankfully gaining popularity. This was really bad, and from an establishment that cares about special diets and allergies, it's a shame.

Shaunda B.

Yelp
The skillets are great. I enjoyed a private event where the food was delicious. Visit and enjoy

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by the menu and space... family owned restaurant in a small strip mall filled with the neighborhood women catching up over a cuppa or eating healthy. The menu has variety and we liked the hearty potato soup however my cauliflower tacos lacked in taste, my friends butternut spaghetti lacked flavor. Definitely a dieters paradise with the sparingly used cooking oils. May comeback again if in the area and try their meat dishes and the slot machines....Lol!
google avatar

Cicely A.

Yelp
I went for Sunday brunch and it was a really cute spot; very spacious. We were seated right away. Our waitress was very courteous and explained and answered questions we had due to it being our first visit. We ordered omelettes and French toasts. The potatoes were divine and a nice touch of fresh shaved Parmesan. I tried the Greek Frappe. My waitress was very nice to adjust the taste by providing additional milk and flavoring. My cousin and I sat for over two hours talking and enjoying the ambience. Will return as the food was delicious! Great service. Added bonus, they have cocktails as well!

Yelp
we showed up twice, 2 days in a row bc we heard their frozen banana was something to behold. the first day we were told we couldn't eat there as they stopped taking orders at 2:30. they close at 3PM. it was 2:40. the next day we entered the restaurant at 2:30 bc my friend is handicapped we were slow to get to the door. we were met at the door and told we'd be unable to enter as it was 2:30!!!!!!! even after seeing my friend's walker and her difficulty walking. It was clear that they did not want us in their facility. I could not believe it. I pointed out to them that it was 2:30. They said they stop taking orders at 2:30. The lack of customer service and/or concern was staggering. It was extremely insultIng.

Yelp
First breakfast out in the new home town and it was very good. Service was excellent and had nice conversation with the manager. I would recommend.

Yelp
Very spacious and inviting cafe . Gorilla coffee is my go to drink . It looks so good with the chocolate stripes down the inside of the glass and the whip cream on top . Discovered the Nacho Jams , best I've ever had . Always consistently good menu items . Servers are pleasant and work hard to please .
google avatar

Diana M.

Yelp
Their hot drinks are pretty good. The food options are ok. I got the avocado toast and eggs and honestly if I made it at home, it would've tasted better and costed cheaper. I think if I do go back it'll only be for their hot drinks.

Ryan C.

Yelp
this place is my absolute most favorite. i've been coming here often for years. everything on their menu is so delicious and service is always great! the inside too is so aesthetically pleasing and super nice. i 100% recommend!

Yelp
Great breakfast spot.. it's in a strip mall.. but don't be discouraged the food was outstanding, best coffee in town and some very yummy baked goods! Service was excellent as well as the restaurant itself.

Yelp
Nice little cafe a couple of storefronts down from Mario Tricoci on 94th Avenue - so keep in mind you can visit before or after any Tricoci appointment. The BB Cafe was a nice stopover for a bite to eat. This restaurant works at preparing healthy meals and does a pretty good job of it. Laid out with just a few outdoor seats, the interior is large, open, and airy - and is a series of rooms as you walk toward the back. While they have a full bar, right now BB Cafe seems mostly a breakfast/brunch kind of place with a slowly-growing dinner selection. This place has been here as BB Cafe since 2012, but has just changed ownership this year. In 2012 it started out with great reviews, but service and quality soon dropped and it fell off as a destination. The new owner is trying to breath life and interest back into BB Cafe. While most dining happens in the large front room, the smaller room way in the back is more like a quieter Starbucks kind of place where you can plug your laptop in and linger in comfy chairs and even eat whatever you ordered off the menu ... room is also available for parties. The place even has a few video gaming machines. For eats, the new owner is ever expanding the offerings. You can pretty much arrange a regular breakfast of eggs, pancakes, bacon, and toast ... or you can have avocado toast or a breakfast crunch wrap. Nice array of sandwiches. Overall lots of choices, including some vegetarian stuff, some vegan. Now it is also a cafe ... and they have nice coffees and selections and add-ins to personalize it; nice selection of teas and drinks. To build more of a dinner following the new owner is also starting to arrange for live music on weekends - which would make it more of a destination place. Prices here are a bit higher than you might be used to (for example, a $12 hamburger) but the owner isn't competing with the Lume's or Culver's of the world ... he is establishing his own brand identity of healthy eating. Not really a kid-friendly menu, but lots of stuff for adults. Give it a try.

Yelp
Fresh and creative dishes. Attentive staff. Great place for breakfast, lunch or brunch. Love the outdoor seating options!

Yelp
Went there for breakfast yesterday morning. The 4 of had the SECS breakfast sandwich, breakfast tacos, cinnamon bun pancakes (special) and soft scramble sandwich. All were wonderful, especially the cinnamon bun pancakes, and HUGE portions. Service was fast and friendly. A great way to start your day. Can't wait to go back!!

Yelp
great drinks and breakfast options! my friend and i both loved what we got (I got the breakfast tacos) and we also liked our blueberry lattes as well

Yelp
I tried their breakfast tacos, it's great! And surprised they can make out of season peppermint mocha!

JoAnn G.

Yelp
I can't say enough about this place. The food is delicious and the servers are friendly and efficient. It's an especially great place for our family which includes Vegans. We also appreciate that the patio is dog friendly. It's becoming our go to place for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Give it a try. You won't be sorry.

Yelp
Love the ambiance, but the cauliflower tacos I ordered were completely subpar. They were not fresh at all. I'd def go again though to try another dish if I'm ever in the area.

Yelp
Every time I go here there is no talking at the table because we're all enjoying our food so much They have great well thought out vegan options!

Yelp
The food never disappoints I've come here a million times, the owner is also very nice and attentive to guests.
