I went to Bloom Bar on Sunday Jan 4, 2026. I made a reservation via Open Table. I was excited to eat there due to the great reviews on the food and how good the customer service was.
My reservation was for 7:45 pm and I believe I got there at 8 PM. The restaurant wasn't busy when I got there, but the food took forever to come out. I ordered three things: the egg rolls, Berbere chicken, and puff puffs. Each item took about 30 minutes. The most disappointing meal was the puff puff:
4 tiny fried dough balls that took thirty minutes to come out.
I had a very disappointing experience at Bloom Bar in Atlanta. The puff puff I ordered was lukewarm and severely overpriced. While the chicken and egg rolls were good, they weren’t enough to redeem the overall experience.
Although the young lady who served me was polite, service was lacking throughout my visit. I was drinking water and never received a refill. My food also took an unusually long time to come out, and no explanation was offered. At one point, a table of two young women who arrived after me received their meals before I did, which added to the frustration.
Bloom Bar charges premium prices, but the service does not align with that expectation. My total came to $75, and a 20% gratuity was automatically added. While I understand that the gratuity goes directly to the server, in this instance, the service did not warrant a 20% tip. Based on the experience, I would have given 10–15%.
This was my first time dining here, and it will be my last. I do not recommend Bloom Bar for in-house dining. Be cautious about what you order, as some items are not worth the price or the wait. Overall, the experience was disappointing.
