Best Doughnuts in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"This roadside cafe and local goods and coffee shop located inside a former general store serves a tight selection of traditional and creative doughnut flavors on the menu, including coffee bacon, lemon yuzu, plain cake doughnuts, and Boston cream on the weekends. Expect seasonal doughnut flavors, too, like peaches and cream and apples and cinnamon." - Lia Picard

Best Restaurants in Alpharetta, Georgia | Eater Atlanta

"Two things: Yes, they serve doughnuts and burgers in the same place. And yes, you can get a doughnut as a burger bun. No other questions. The fluffy yeast and butter doughnuts are rolled, cut, and fried fresh daily at the former Hardeman’s Grocery space and the patties are made from Angus beef ground in-house. The buns are baked on-site, too. Order the coffee bacon doughnut or a breakfast sandwich during their morning hours." - Alex Leo-Guerra

I'm not sure what's going on with their donuts lately. Previously, they were perfect. Nice and light/fluffy with glazes that taste fresh but aren't too sweet. They also improved their strawberry glaze recently! I normally come in every Wednesday. Last Wednesday, they were very tough and dense, almost like a stale cake donut. I came back the next day (Thursday) and they were back to normal again. I even inquired if they changed the recipe and he said they didn't so I chalked it up to an accidental batch gone wrong. This morning (the 19th) I went back again for my same order and the donuts are just as bad. Very dense and tough like a pretzel, not worth the price at all in that state. I'm not sure if it's someone different making them or if some part of the process has been changed, but I hope the issue is fixed soon!

Google
They have an AWESOME double smash burger and are located just a quarter mile from home! It's great to stop there for breakfast sandwiches and coffee as well. Friendly service to boot. Thanks!

Google
First time here. Thought we would try based great reviews. Here is our review, over priced burger, fries and Donuts. $3.75 for this Donut. If you don’t mind being gauged go for it. Best part was the outdoor setting for our one and half year old. However, the sand box was filled with water. Our first and last. Next time I’m in the mood for a good burger I’ll go to longhorn Steakhouse. Can beat the quality and price.

Google
Burgers, donuts and kids chicken and fries were all good. Quite a variety of coffee and matcha drinks too. Wish they served breakfast sandwiches last 11 am especially on Sunday because we really want those but arrived at 11:08. Porch and open space were nice for the kids - interior had cute country vibes with some items for sale like pickles, dressing, burger sauce, chocolate dip etc.

Google
I eat here with my wife quite often and each time it has been a joy to eat in and relax. It has plenty of seating inside or outside. It has a nice easy vibe and all the workers are attentive and friendly. One thing I really like is that it doesn’t take long to place your order and receive your meal. The coffee is always good and fresh. The fries are cooked just right and they are plentiful. Order a cheeseburger fixed just the way you want it and you will not be disappointed. The meat is high quality and is always cooked perfectly and not greasy. I’d rate it one of the best in the area or maybe the best. The bacon, egg, and cheese is just awesome. I love this place. And it’s family owned!

Google
I work in Milton and stopped by Bloom Roadside and tried their coffee bacon donut -- absolutely delicious! The donut itself was soft, doughy, and fresh, and the flavor combo really worked. What really stood out to me was the icing. It's not your average powdered sugar and milk glaze -- you can tell it has cream cheese in it, which gives it a richer, smoother texture and just the right amount of tang to balance the sweetness. The whole thing felt thoughtful and elevated...this ain't no Krispy Kreme donut. Highly recommend stopping in if you're a donut lover or just want to try a new cute cafe-style restaurant in the area. It will quickly become your favorite spot! I left with a half dozen to bring home to the family. I cannot wait to try the rest and go back for a burger, Daniel (the manager) was super friendly, informative and adamant that they have the best burger in town!

Google
The burgers here are great. The atmosphere is very chill and welcoming. I’ve been back a few time for lunch since I live just down the street and the burgers are always consistently delicious. They come out very fresh. You can tell the staff takes extra effort to provide a good experience. They have always brought my food to my table which I don’t expect when I order at a counter. The young man that makes the burgers is also very attentive and timely while preparing food. Highly recommend.

Google
Hannah was so friendly when I walked in! Loved bringing my kids here! Had plenty of games and fun space outside to play 😁😁 I even got complimented by the baristas on my outfit!!!!! 10/10 experience everyone should visit Hannah and Peyton when they’re working

Yelp
Okay- I'm back from 2 years ago. I dropped in recently and this might be my new favorite coffee shop!! I don't know what changed- the employees or coffee recipes- but the change was good. The honey lavender latte is IMMACULATE. I don't recall them having that before when I went, but this one is so dang good, I would go just for that drink. The donuts. Another. Freaking. Level. And I don't even like donuts. It's chewy, and fresh! I believe they make it on the spot? Or they have some magic spell back there to keep it delish. I also stopped by looking for more of a small meal, rather than a donut since I know they sell burgers. I ordered a kids meal and let me tell you- the quality is like none other. You can't beat the price either! Love it! 12/10.

Yelp
So this is a quaint little eatery in the middle of nowhere on the side of a roundabout. There is more than ample parking around the entire lot although possibly not enough if you're planning an event. Family friendly and although I didn't see signs possibly pet friendly as there was a dog bowl on the porch rail. Outside there's a picnic area with sail covering for heat coverage although there aren't fans outside a nice breeze flows through. If you are wanting their breakfast menu come before it ends at 11am. (Sad I missed that...). I opted on the burger which does not come with a side (just fyi). The donut selection looked amazing and smelled divine and their drink menu ranged from coffee/tea to milkshakes. I had a coffee with creamer which came out after five minutes to me on the porch black (probably my fault for missing the creamer location ‍). My burger arrived about ten minutes later to me on the porch beautifully presented. All in all the coffee and burger were decent, but nothing truly special to write home about. Seems like a great family venue and given the area great for little league seasonal events. I would say expect with the pricing for the drink/food flow to be faster and more organized, but that is a minute detail considering the peaceful atmosphere. Try it if you haven't. Note it is a cashless facility.

Yelp
I took my two daughters for doughnuts one morning. They make the doughnuts fresh when you order and the icing is what's special. We had 3 different ones - chocolate, raspberry, and peach. The chocolate was the best chocolate I've ever had. You could tell it was made fresh. The raspberry tasted just like a raspberry. I thought the peach could have been peachier, but it was good nonetheless. I did also order an iced chia latte. I didn't finish it and wouldn't order it again. They have board games and books so you can sit back and enjoy your drinks and food while reading or playing with those who came with you.

Yelp
I really love this place. Everything was yummy. Staff is super nice and got great service. I would have gave 5 stars but they need to keep the place tidy. The bathroom stunk of pee and did not look clean. I've been there a few times and each time that was the problem. Sorry

Yelp
Such a cute little restaurant with delicious burgers. I have only had the coffee here once and it is pretty nice. Definitely try a burger from here if you have not already. Sometimes I come here just for that.

Yelp
Sweet gem of a place. Been back a 2nd time already in the same week to try other flavs including a burger w a glazed donut bun. While the donuts are def worth writing home about...it was the fried pickles that tickled my fancy. Best ones I've had. The dipping sauce had a layer of honey on top and I was like whaaaaat is this new flavor explosion on the tastebuds. All the donut flavs I tried were delish. They are baked daily, warmed up and freshly glazed w each order. Coffee menu a lil diff a lil special along w just good ol plain brew. Employees sweet and great at suggesting their faves. The space has tables inside and outdoor. Even a lil get the ring on hook game out on porch. Bloom Roadside is def a stop worth making.

Yelp
There aren't words for how good this place is. The best donut I've ever had and only for $2.75? I got the strawberry glazed donut and it tasted just like sweet fresh strawberries.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by and had a cheese burger and daughter had the donut burger. Both burgers were phenomenal. Was actually the best smash burger I've had in GA and will be back.

Yelp
My kids give Bloom 5 stars. Awesome little place to get great, fresh donuts!!!!! And the lattes are great, too.

Yelp
Fantastic roadside spot. Fresh doughnuts. Wonderful service. Lots of seating inside and out make for a great gathering spot with friends. Bloom honey latte was delicious

Yelp
Besides their delicious donuts, Bloom has the best burgers in Atlanta. The fries are very good as well. Friendly service great spot. We love it!

Yelp
What a delicious, delightful place ! I have been wanting to stop by this little roadside place for a while now and now I'm sad I have not been here before!!! Delicious donuts - made to order and a friendly wait staff. We sat at the bar and watched them dip our donuts with care. I also watched the staff carefully prepping for lunch- now I want a burger!!! We will be back later to enjoy this spot again!!
google avatar

Yelp
Fun place to grab a donut and coffee! They do service burger and fries and it's right across from a park! There were a lot of kids when we went and it was loud inside but they offer a lovely porch. There are picnic tables and corn hole to chill. We enjoyed the stop and even purchased some coffee beans to go. Just ground. The decor is cute and the atmosphere seems "hopping" the honey lavender latte was delish!

Yelp
This spot is so freakn adorable! Love the seating outside and inside, you feel like you're walking into someone's home. The employees are super friendly and patient, I can definitely see why there was an afternoon crowd on a Tuesday. You can also pick up local products, including Artifex coffee which is roasted in Alpharetta and used in the shop. I heard amazing things about the donuts so made the trip from Atlanta; I love the fact that it's a standard donut and you choose your toppings/glaze, however I thought they were so-so, not something I have to have. Now, the coffee was fantastic! I really wanted a fall seasonal flavor and they were still fine tuning the recipes but went ahead and allowed me to order their apple pie latte (my name for it )and it was so yummy. Loved the spices and coffee mix! I thought it was super sweet! Thank you for the awesome service!

Yelp
When I heard Bloom was serving up burgers, I had to try it. I've had a lot of good burgers and some great burgers. Bloom's burger was one of the best ever and is the best in this area. I think what sets their burger apart is the meticulous attention to detail. The buns are toasted, inside only, just enough to carmelize it and give it a crust -- a soft chew with a slight crust. It's akin to having perfect noodles for ramen that has just enough firmness and give. The burger is Angus beef, packed loose, and seasoned well. It has great flavor in every bite. It doesn't come fancy, just cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles on a sesame seed bun, wrapped in paper. Incredibly delicious. I wanted a second one when I was finished.

Liam W.

Yelp
I DoorDashed this. It was 30 bucks for 3 doughnuts, 2 medium drinks, and a doughnut bacon egg and cheese. All of that for 30 bucks, that's a good price. The glazed doughnut was good and big. The looks of it look gooey and shiney. The Bacon Egg and Cheese looks questionable. It tastes like a regular bacon egg and cheese. The fritter looks really good, the inside looks fluffy and the outside is good. It tastes like a doughnut, not glazed, nothing, with sugar, cinnamon, and a drizzle of glaze. The driver was pretty fast, I can not tell the service because I got it doordashed the food.
google avatar

Leslie H.

Yelp
The farm sauce has not been available for months now which totally made the trip worth it. It's literally a ranch sriracha sauce with honey on top.... What's the deal? I'm f I'm going to pay $15 for a burger and fries, I want the sauce that put the place on the map. Let's not start slipping, this is high dollar realty and I've told so many people about it. Such an easy way to keep customers happy.

Yelp
Recently moved to the area and Bloom Roadside has become one of our go-to regular favorites. Excellent burgers and fries, and the cinnamon sugar donuts melt in your mouth. Cool atmosphere in an old building with outdoor space for the kids to play at the roundabout across from Bell Memorial Park.
google avatar

Yelp
I did it! I finally managed to take a photo before eating any of my food! Meat and bun are phenomenal!
google avatar

ande P.

Yelp
I went there today with my mom. The donuts are very good and the staff are friendly. Our recent experience is different than the last time we were there. The donuts took a very long time to be made compared to last time.

Sean T.

Yelp
Doordashed them (Burger and Donuts) today and I must say I was very pleased. I was apprehensive about a three dollar donut but had to try it. Its actually a nice sized donut; larger than KK or Dunkin. But was it worth it, ABSOLUTLY!!!. I will get them again. I had the vanilla glazed. The burger was very good as well. Fries were cold (Common Doordash problem). But, I will definitely add them to my burger/donut list. Great job!!
google avatar

Kurtis D.

Yelp
I went here in the morning to try their donuts in hopes to find something comparable to Sublime Donuts and Revolution Donuts. Bloom has Great and friendly service but the donuts are leave a bit to be desired...flavor. Seemed like actual donuts were premade and toppings added to provide the type donuts ordered. The burgers look good from others photos so I may have to try them if I'm ever in the area for lunch or dinner.

Liam M.

Yelp
Expensive, but to be expected in the area. Donuts are made fresh (literally dip them as you order) and are excellent.
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic burgers, fries and shakes. Great coffee and donuts. Wish there were more places like this that just did a few things but did them exceptionally well.
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
Highly recommend! The burger was absolutely DELICIOUS! Fresh ground and very flavorful! Donuts are unique and made fresh! And the coffee was amazing as welll! Staff is super friendly!

Michael H.

Yelp
The food was good, but I would think for a place that charges $10 per hamburger would have more than the Kroger's cheap brand creamer for your coffee
google avatar

Brendan S.

Yelp
Their hamburger is hands down the absolute best in ATL! The flavor tastes like a high end steak and it's meaty and juicy!
google avatar

Nicole Y.

Yelp
Donuts and coffee were so good! Staff is also very friendly. Love this place, so quaint.

Yelp
I like bloom doughnuts a hole lot! Bloom is the newest doughnut shop in Milton. They just celebrated their grand opening on March 2nd. Made my way over there this past Sunday and arrived around 1pm. Ample parking available. They occupy a historic building and the name "bloom" is an homage to the general store it once was. They also sell fresh flowers and locally made gifts in addition to the made-from-scratch donuts. The menu is simple, which I like. They serve coffee and donuts. I'm not sure if these are the signature flavors, but they only had four flavors on the menu: citrus thyme, ginger snap, coffee pancetta and honey blossom. All ranging from $3 to $4. However, they had two additional flavors at the register: cinnamon sugar and apple fritter. I ordered one of each donut on the menu as well as an iced oat milk latte. Bloom calls them farm doughnuts, I call them delicious! Yes, $3 per donut is a pricey, but they are outstanding! They are big, soft and messy. I found myself licking the glaze off of the paper liner they came with. LOL. Be sure to grab lots of napkins. The coffee pancetta (sans pancetta) and ginger snap are tied for first place in my heart. The staff was just as sweet as their donuts! Masks are required. Social distancing is highly encouraged, with social distancing markers. Hand sanitizer is provided. I'm sure I'll find my way back here very soon!

Yelp
Oh bloom, I doughnut know what I would do without you! Bloom is the cutest little doughnut shop right here in Milton. There are always the best items for sale inside that would make amazing gifts. Seating both inside and outside, and a small private lot right next to the building makes visiting both easy and enjoyable. Bloom is cooking up some really amazing doughnuts, too! At this point I have had my share of both the "dry" flavors and the ones with the "wet" glazes. Personally, I prefer the glazed ones (wet ones as opposed to powders) as they eat more moist, but you really cannot go wrong with any flavor. Not to mention, these treats are dipped and coated to order! I was determined today to only order two and leave without taking any home. Somehow we left with a box of six, and bloom was kind enough to throw in an extra on the house. P.S. the doughnut boxes are the most adorable little pizza boxes ever printed with a graphic just for bloom! We ordered a half dozen doughnuts ($16.00) of the following flavors: Cinnamon Sugar Strawberry Powder Coffee Pancetta Strawberry Glaze White Chocolate Boston Cream To say I inhaled the strawberry glaze doughnut would be an understatement. I love fruity-flavored things, and doughnuts are no exception. I love how fresh these babies taste. They don't feel as heavy as other doughnuts (although still fried) and there is nothing artificial about them. The only thing I hate is how far bloom is from my house. The coffee pancetta is one of my absolute faves. This one is mandatory for us each visit. The salty and sweet is absolute perfection. The white chocolate strawberry was really good, too. The cinnamon sugar is a nice option if you want something a little more straight forward. It reminded us both of a churro and would go great with a cup of coffee. The strawberry powder one was good, but not my fave. I probably won't get it next time as there are much more exciting and satisfying options to choose from. I don't much care for boston cream doughnuts so I did not even try it, but Hubs loved it! We crave bloom often, and only occasionally make the trek over from Woodstock. And boy, I am so glad we did today. If you want some delicious dipped to order delights, do yourself a favor and head on over to bloom! Maybe I'll catch you there next time!

Yelp
This is a great local place to eat. Their menu is simple they are open till 7 on most days and have best donuts , burgers and donuts. Their coffee is great and just a great place for the morning, lunch or dinner. Go! You can see how fresh everything is! Nice job. Had picked up donuts before but their is more ! Nice!

Yelp
This place is such a hidden gem. One of the best matcha oat milk lattes I've had in this part of town. The doughnuts and burgers are a home run. This place is cashless!

Yelp
"I just need like a 4-hour nap, a coffee, and 3 donuts. Also, can we scratch the whole adult thing today?" -- Arty Fischel That sounds like a great plan! Let's start with a trip to Bloom. Bloom Doughnuts has a neat concept. You pick your doughnut from the counter and they dip and decorate it fresh behind the counter. The Boston Creme was delicious and smothered in chocolate. Served up warm with a cup of coffee and life is good! The doughnuts themselves are big, and are more dense then fluffy. While my tastes run more to a lighter doughnut, if you appreciate a bready, cake doughnut, you will love them. The service is great, and it's fun to watch the donuts get created. Now for that nap...
google avatar

Leigh W.

Yelp
First! They *are* open on Monday despite what Yelps say so drop by when it's a bit quieter. Great roadside donut shop on the heart of Milton.
google avatar

Cassandra G.

Yelp
Yum yum yum!!!!! Bloom doughnuts is like waking up to the good life! Scenic beauty and historical richness make up the bloom experience! The farm fabulous and country roads make the trek a worthwhile endeavor, the doughnuts and coffee are what keep you coming back for more! Had the delectable pumpkin chai donut and loved it! The chocolate was equally enticing! Bloom has creative menu options for any palate and did I mention that the donuts are huge! You won't feel weighted down though because only the best farm-fresh ingredients make up these sweeties!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute place and the donuts were delicious! I brought my kids to storytime on Wednesday and they had such a great time and especially loved getting a special treat afterwards!

Yelp
Outstanding customer service, delicious coffee and scrumptious donuts. I had a perfect coffee date!

Yelp
the workers are usually super nice and friendly. the food is sooo good, pretty expensive though. love the burgers and their matcha lattes. the ambiance is cute, not a ton of indoor seating though.

Yelp
Simply some of the best donuts that I have ever tried. Also, with the road work recently completed it makes it difficult now to drive by without stopping in.
google avatar

Yelp
Curb appeal- super cute place!! Inside the store- great decor Customer service- greeted with smiles and recommendations Doughnut- blueberry, still warm and made (dipped) to order. Coffee- vanilla iced latte and it's really good coffee! Dogs on patio- plus!! Defin

Yelp
Bloom is a funky roadside bakery with house made sweets and the best strawberry donut I have EVER had! I'm so thankful I stumbled upon this little treasure on our recent trip to Milton. Highly highly recommend the brown sugar shaken oat milk espresso!

Maddi W.

Yelp
Drove past this place a couple of times and was excited about trying. Very charming on the outside with nice outdoor seating and cute curb appeal. Upon entering the cashier was very friendly and answered my questions with ease. They do not have vegan food options. The floors were dirty, tables were sticky and hadn't been wiped down. The bathroom didn't have hand soap and the trash can was overflowing with paper towels. Coffee is good but the ambiance I was hoping to walk into was just not there. Instead it was dark and dirty which was disappointing.
google avatar

Rana S.

Yelp
Such a great experience at bloom donuts today! It's a a house that is perfectly decorated for the season, outdoor and indoor seatings available, the place is clean and well maintained, they had a good selection of different donuts for the season and a breakfast sandwich. The people are very friendly!! We got the vanilla glaze donuts and strawberry donuts both were pretty good and fresh. The vanilla glaze were a little bit sweet tho. The hot coffee was decent. The hot chocolate were just okay, nothing special. Overall, it was a good experience and will be back to try different stuff.
google avatar

Earl S.

Yelp
I was driving up for an Elite event looking for the typical shopping center doughnut shop, and then I saw Bloom. It's the quaint, classy, and Southern rural little white house just at the roundabout. The ladies inside were accommodating and kind. Parking was ample and easy. They have tons of delicious flavors you'd never find anywhere else. I had to sample the White Chocolate Blueberry doughnut which spoke to my spirit. They warmed it for me without me having to ask and addressed me by name. They opened in March this year. Do support their locally grown business serving some deliciously tasty doughnuts, coffee, and hot chocolate. You will not be disappointed.
google avatar

BM T.

Yelp
This place looks very charming and their menu seems nice. We came here for the donuts and enjoyed the various glazed ones, but they were some what dry. I was especially disappointed that the apple fritter was dry with just a slight drizzle of glaze. I'm used to them being fully glazed at other places. Also, the donuts are warmed and glazed to order which I thought was neat. However, the worker who glazed our donuts was multitasking and did it bare handed. The place looked clean so I would hope that she washed her hands before she did... I like to support local businesses so I will give this place another chance. The food that others were having looked good.
google avatar

Steve V.

Yelp
This place is new and a welcomed addition to the Milton scene. We came on a Sunday morning and the parking lot was pretty full. That said, we were able to find a spot easily and once inside, there was only one party ahead of us in line to order. They had donuts on display to see what they looked like, but each donut us made to order. The exterior has a front porch with some rockers and the interior is quaint and bigger than expected looking from the outside. We found a table easily and waited for our donuts and coffee to arrive. The flavors of donuts were unique for sure and the kids wanted more "plain" and "regular" flavors. My favorite was the coffee pancetta, which is really all the best breakfast items on a donut. What's not to like??
google avatar

Mercedes P.

Yelp
Great little location! The macchiato is really good - great beans! Love when a place goes out of there way to get local beans. The donuts are fairly decent - I think they need to fry them a little less (a tad too oily/dark) and add a little more flavor to their Citrus Yuzu donut and Honey Blossom donut. Loved the apple fritter and the coffee pancetta donut. Overall great little business! Excited to see them get into the swing of things.

Pallavi K.

Yelp
A great place to hangout with your friends or walk around the adjoining trail. The donuts are served warm almost always and they are not overpoweringly sweet which is great! They have a small but a good range of good quality coffee. The refreshers were a miss for me though. All in all a great find!

Yelp
First time going today. Wow the doughnuts are crazy good. My son Alison did the doughnut breakfast sandwich. He killed it Anyway great spot for a treat anytime of day!!

Yelp
Great little coffee/donut shop/ restaurant. I have been here a few times for coffee- always delicious and I am a coffee snob. Plan to go back for lunch soon. Donuts look delicious too!
