Cuban Cafe Colada Shop Will Open Inside the First Bloomie’s Department Store, in Virginia | Eater DC

"Set to open in the Mosaic District in Fairfax later this year, the first-ever Bloomie’s is a scaled-down offshoot of Bloomingdale’s that aims to move away from indoor malls and cater to a younger shopper by stocking emerging brands and following online-sales patterns. The store will offer shoppers food and drink options — including Cuban coffee drinks, rum cocktails, croquetas, and pressed sandwiches — and will house a 900-square-foot Colada Shop with its own separate entrance and patio so customers can carry tropical drinks while they shop; bringing in Colada Shop lets Bloomie’s highlight a local brand rather than build its own restaurant." - Gabe Hiatt

Everyone, beware! This store sells fake perfume! I bought perfume there yesterday, and when I got home and opened the box, it was fake. The information on the bottle and the box were different, and the scent wasn't right. The next day, I went to the store to ask for an exchange, but the clerk refused and was extremely rude! They firmly stated that they don't sell fake perfume! They spoke to me as if I had swapped the perfume! Excuse you ?!I will never buy anything from this store again! It's really disappointing!

I picked up an order recently, and my experience was outstanding. The service I received was excellent, and the staff went above and beyond by wrapping the gift for me—such a thoughtful touch! This was the best experience I've had with online shopping pickups.

This review would have sounded like the others if it weren’t for Zena. When I walked in, no one greeted me and I was contemplating staying considering I was there for 10 minutes roughly without anyone acknowledging me. Then Zena started her shift and that is why I am able to leave 5 stars comfortably. She immediately approached me and I thanked her for saying anything because no one had thus far and she mentioned she just got on shift and was willing to help! I tried on several pieces and left with a few, to include perfume and a few travel size goodies given for my sister and I. I even reached out to her that same evening for a pair of jeans and if the store carried them, and she was quick to reply with complete kindness and willing to answer any and all questions I had. I’d return here if Zena were working, she was so great and I look forward to shopping here again in the future! Thanks Zena.

I went into Bloomingdale’s with my friend about a week or so ago to buy some new denim. I ended up not finding anything. I worked with a female sales associate, I cannot remember my name to save my life. She was a short blonde lady with an accent. She was decent enough, but very pushy which didn’t bother me. I understand that you know, she’s trying to make commission I get it, that being said when another sales associate saw me smelling some perfume. She stepped up and asked if I needed any help and I ended up buying perfume which then enraged the other sales associate whom ended up not making a sale because I couldn’t find any denim I liked and this woman proceeded to act incredibly aggressive towards me and threw a sweatshirt at the other sales associate who was ringing me up and said “ It doesn’t matter about my paycheck just ring her up for this. It’s only $60 more”. She then stormed off and started to gossip with one of the other sales associates whom seemed incredibly uncomfortable, listening to this woman complain about a customer. Overall, this encounter was incredibly uncomfortable, especially considering I’ve worked in retail before so I’m usually pretty understanding, but this woman was just so out of line like I felt borderline assaulted. She was so aggressive.

You would expect more professional staff from a Bloomie’s. I placed a large order and did pick up. The woman who I talked to on the phone and brought my order out just seemed to be really condescending and giggly about my order. Not only that, she brought out a duplicate of one of the items I ordered. I had told her over the phone that I have only ordered a singular of that item, they still brought two out, and she’s really lucky I noticed the double before I left. When I called back for them to retrieve the duplicate, she giggled and said she’d send someone to retrieve it. (Without offering any gratitude.) I guess these are just subtleties of customer service, but typically, you’d expect better service the more you spend.

This spot is compact verse the original Bloomingdales. It’s cute and this visit gets 4 stars for the fact that (Black)security guards was s trying to be inconspicuous (I know he wasn’t checking me out)and moving throughout the store in unison with me. I sat to get a shoe check and realized he was looking directly in my vicinity. His behaviors as unnecessary for the fact that there were other patrons in the store. The two young black gentlemen customer service people were polite and attentive to me as well as the wonderful young lady who greeted me at the door as soon as I walked in.

As others have mentioned, there is a big intimidating security guy that follows you around. Being a female, trying shoes he stood there and watched me, which made me very uncomfortable, then he asked if the shoes are good, like since when do security weirdos interact with customers? I ended up buying shoes and getting out of there but will never come back or buy anything here.

I love this curated version of Bloomingdale’s! Such a chic and beautiful space. Staff was so attentive. I also thought the Cuban coffee spot that’s attached was a great addition! Enjoyed shopping with my girls here.
