I dropped in on this place while visiting Vintage Martini next door, because I was happy to be able to drink a cold, fun soda on a hot day (something I had not done since the Soda Gallery in Bishop Arts closed down). When I walked in, I was overwhelmed with the sounds and sights of this small but awesome shop.
I made my way to the back, ooh-ing and ahh-ing at the selection of goodies they boast. One section is dedicated entirely to vintage candy, and I scooped up a Zagnut, as well as some peanut clusters. There are sections for bulk candy, imported candy, and "themed sections" featuring, for example, zombie-themed candy and novelties, and bacon-themed candy and novelties. Among some of the fun non-edibles I found were some great vintage lunchboxes, funky band-aids (Spam band-aids, anyone?), cool rubber key covers, fake moustaches...the list is endless!
I absolutely LOVE the soda selection here...these guys are ALL about the weird sodas, as well as both vintage and contemporary ones. I was ecstatic to see that they carry Leninade. It is simply my favorite soda, hands down. I got to taste their "Sweet Corn Soda", and while it wasn't my bag, it certainly tasted like sweet corn!
This is a must-visit place here in DFW - highly recommend it for all of you fun-loving candy and soda enthusiasts out there!
