4 Restaurants to Try This Weekend in Los Angeles: September 26 | Eater LA

"The vibey, sun-lit cafe from the same owners of next-door Vietnamese restaurant Blossom, Blossom and Friends, offers the perfect cafe-with-free-Wi-Fi situation on a quiet stretch of Ocean Park Boulevard. This feels like a true neighborhood spot: Get in too late and you might miss all the delights of the once-full pastry case (locals will have cleared it out earlier in the morning). That’s not a terrible thing, however, considering Blossom also has a kitchen from which it slings stellar bánh mì (including a breakfast riff with fried egg, pickled daikon and carrots, cilantro, jalapeño, vegan mayo, and side of chicken broth), toasts, and accoutrement to go with the shop’s respectable tinned fish display. Grab a coffee, freshly squeezed juice, and the classic bánh mì with ham, headcheese, meatloaf, duck paté, and garlic butter before you settle in for a while. You won’t even notice the hours pass you by." - Eater Staff

Great coffee to start the morning. A super-delicious sandwich. The service was super fast, but we were served by a guy who, in my opinion, should have smiled a little more. 😊We'll be back!!!

Coffee is amazing, specifically the hojicha and the lattees. Pastries are delicious as well. Some are vegan and ask for some butter with your order. The staff is super awesome, they remember your name and are super friendly. For lunch the steak bah mi is my go to and it doesn't disappoint. It comes with a small broth to dip in and its delicious. Highly recommend this spot. Special shout out to Eli, dulce, Arlan!!

Excellent Banh Mi sandwiches served from mid/late morning thanks to the super kitchen of the restaurant next door. The staff is friendly and relaxed. It was our first time there and we were made comfortable as if we were regulars. The main indoor room has a record player and some records but you can bring your own and also donate if you are so inclined. This is a brilliant jem in a quiet part of Santa Monica.

Stopped by this café in Santa Monica today while hanging out in the area. It was a little busy around 9, but the baristas were super friendly and made good conversation. Very rare these days to receive a warm welcome. Coffee was good, one of the better cappuccinos I've had in a while.

Super cute location with amazing art and some really good records. I had a great time looking at some art books and drinking a Matcha.

My favorite coffee shop here in LA! The staff is incredibly kind and they have such a peaceful space to work from. Thank you to Dulce for the hospitality as well, check them out!

I really like the design and the atmosphere at this place. Vinyl music is great. The staff was polite and cheerful. However, when it comes to food and drinks... The salmon toast was VERY spicy. I didn't expect that 😅 Plus, if you want to add 1 slice of avocado to your meal, it'll cost you $2.5. Coffee was a little bitter.

I’m disappointed that the vibe of this place has taken a hit. This was my local coffee shop that I would frequent almost daily. I moved to mid Wilshire area and now I always plan to stop by when visiting Clover park with my pup. At some point the store closed temporarily and once it reopened the vibe was not the same at all. Now it feels much more pretentious and inauthentic. The music made the atmosphere and now often there is nothing. The staff is unfriendly and feels unwelcoming. It gives that stuffy elitism that is so common in West LA. Today was my third time feeling this experience and I said it was my last. I was disappointed that I went outside and was waiting on the bench with my dog. The barista made my drink and with two baristas behind the counter and no active orders they didn’t bring my drink outside. I could completely understand if they were busy, but they were not. I actually assumed the drink was for someone else. When I went inside to ask if it was my drink the barista just nodded towards the drink and said yeah. The vibe was just unfriendly and lacked any sort of customer facing mood. This is not an entitled cater to me post. I do not always wait outside for drinks I’ve done both many times. Today I just happened to have my dog, a puppy, who was a little rambunctious. So I waited outside in an effort to get him settled because there was another dog inside. There have been countless times that the prior baristas and staff have brought out drinks because they just had a calm, laidback and welcoming demeanor. I just think things have changed at this place and it’s really disappointing because it used to be such an authentic vibe. I’ve recommended this cafe countless times and now I just can’t. Still giving 3 stars because the food and drinks are phenomenal! Just the service and atmosphere have taken a hit.
