Blossom Adds Intimate Raw Bar to East Bay - Eater Carolinas

"Long-standing, wood-fired restaurant Blossom received an update at the beginning of the year, with new interior designs and a 10-seat raw bar up front. In what was once a private dining space now sits a sunny, Spanish-influenced bar with space to sup on fresh oysters, whole lobster, and Lowcountry boil. Chef Adam Close says that Blossom wanted to offer an affordable, beautiful spot with fresh seafood. The position of the bar, with a large window facing the East Bay Street sidewalk, immediately welcomes patrons into the space." - Erin Perkins

Solid restaurant. The service was great and our waitress was quite nice. The restaurant is very nice, and we liked the atmosphere there. We had the pimento cheese fritters app to start. I was disappointed there were so few of them (5 or 6 about the size of a grape) and while the fritters were good they were not good enough to keep me from regretting spending the money on them. For entree’s we got the fried seafood platter and the shrimp and grits. The fried seafood platter was okay. It was a generic fried fish platter with french fries, hushpuppies, fried shrimp, fried scallops, and fried fish. The fish is the only part of the meal that I would criticize, it was really sub-par, very oily, and it reminded me of the low quality Cod fish that you get at the Long John Silvers fast food chain. The Shrimp and grits were really very good, and while I wished there was a little more On the plate the food itself was a treat.

Very nice place. Ceviche was quite citrus forward, but truly wonderfully full flavored. Good selection of tasty oysters. Peel and eat shrimp was very delicious with their house seasonings and really quality cocktail sauce. Wish I could have consumed more of their menu.

Oysters were great. Nice outdoor patio. Entrees were good but not amazing. Maybe we went on a bad night because we waited 30 minutes from being seated before we received anything but water. It was a Thursday in October so maybe they were having staffing issues but the service was incredibly slow. I'd consider going back to give them another shot.

When I got a rain at waterfront park, I decided to enter this restaurant because it was the closest restaurant. From outside, it looked a small restaurant, but they have plenty of seats inside. I enjoyed She Crab soup and Shrimp & Grits. Soup was thick and the bread was also tasty for having with soup. Grits was also good too. It was a coincidence to find this restaurant but food was delicious and servers were nice. Recommendable place.

Much bigger inside and more well appointed than the impression from the outside. The waiter was enthusiastic and the place was busy so the service wasn’t too fast. But still enjoyed each plate. The flavors melded nicely. And Everything was delicious. Portions were a good size and will play did. Everyone left full and happy. Would definitely go back

We absolutely loved our dining experience at Blossom!! We started with dozen oysters - fabulous!! My husband got the sea scalloped meal and was convinced his was the best. I got grilled swordfish with asparagus and grits and my mouth melted. My son got tuna with gnocchi and corn with beans, he would have preferred a bit more rare, but still very happy, and our friend had Mahi grilled with potatoes and asparagus. We were stuffed by the time we left. And our server was just as sweet as can be. Definitely will be returning.

Had a delicious meal here last night. My grouper was done perfectly and the gnocchi were the beat I have ever had. My wife’s shrimp and grits was also delicious. Not super fancy, but very comfortable. Service was good. Would certainly go again.

Amazing Oyster Raw Bar and Seafood Resturant. Staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. She Crab Soup is amazing. This is a sister resturant to Magnolia that is right down the street. There is plenty of seating options inside as well as outdoor seating if it's a nice night.
