I love everything about Blu Karma in Danvers Mass. This place is a gem for Asian food lovers with a large selection of Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Good size portions priced right and cooked to perfection. Everything you expect in a restaurant and more with plenty of comfortable booth seating, sushi bar area and also outdoor seating area with umbrellas. Food was amazing and I can’t wait to visit again and try more menu selections. A Big Thank you to The Owner Yanna Chen and the Manager Katy Kwong for making our visit a memorable experience! I Highly Recommend!

Google
Food lacked flavor and is a bit overpriced for what you get. Looks better than it taste. The lo mein lact a lot of flavor I also got dumplings that were pretty mid with a strange aftertaste and spring rolls were mid and the taste wasn't so flavorful. Sushi was pretty average also.

Google
The food is excellent! Definitely going back for another sampling. The orange beef was really good. If you’re a sushi fan then you can’t go wrong, the unagi was the best I ever had. Small quaint environment, had a pleasant experience. Highly recommended for a date night out.

My favorite sushi around Tina's the best.. great drinks and food .. always consistently good Pictured : white mai tai, spicy edamame, mongolion beef with pork fried rice , and the black and white maki ( my favorite)

Google
OMG. So good. Extensive menu. We keep trying new items each visit & continue to order our favorites. Katie is an excellent host & always makes us feel like family. Highly recommend. Drinks are really good. Don’t miss. Love that it’s in the old KFC building.

Yelp
Just moved to the Boston area about a year ago, and after searching for a good Chinese/asian restaurant, Blu Karma is hands down the best. The menu selections are the best of the best of what I always order in Honolulu, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, with great Chinese and pan asian dishes like pineapple fried rice and sushi. Parking is limited in their small lot, and if you're picking up on holidays or busy game day weekends, it's tough to turn in only to have to reverse out onto the busy street. Simply the best of the place, imho.

Yelp
Food is so good and consistent, quite possibly best on the Northshore. The sushi is the best on the Northshore. Tried nearly everything. Service is wonderful, I'm always greeted by name. The restaurant is intimate, clean, and the lighting is perfect for a wonderful date night. Prices are a little high, but you don't leave feeling like you wasted your money, the food is good!

Yelp
Start off by saying this fish is FRESH! We loved all the rolls we had, but we are always blown away by the flavorings. The scallop lobster roll was great, but we will definitely not get it again. We realized this when we had the spicy edamame and the blu karma roll are incredible! This is a cute spot, definitely small so be aware at busy times. But even though we went on a busy time in a Friday, our waitress was amazing and the sushi chefs were quick and constantly on the go!

Yelp
Lively spot for a Wednesday night, but got in quickly. Food came out in less than 5 minutes and was great. Staff was attentive, and will look forward to exploring the menu more in the future.

Yelp
So ordered the salmon teriyaki bento for $18.50 which is a fair price. It was $2 to change from white to brown rice... ok. It was listed on the menu and I knew when I ordered it I would be paying that. The salad in the bento box was some old lettuce with 2 pieces of thin wilted cucumber. The teriyaki sauce was so watered down from the steamed veggies that I asked for some more teriyaki sauce. They charged me $3 for that sauce. Would have been nice for them to tell me there would be a charge. It's like asking for more ketchup and being charge a ridiculous amount for it without being told. Based on this alone I won't be coming back here.

Yelp
Very tasty food. I didn't find the prices too bad at all. Service was good. Enjoyed everything we had especially the dumplings.

Yelp
My mother came into town and immediately have a craving for peking duck. Came across this place and oh my god what a find! A small dining area with great, attentive service; bringing fast but hot food. Sushi was great, house fried rice made EXCELLENT day two leftovers, and the peking duck was exactly what we were looking forward. Absolutely will dine again.

Yelp
Food is superb, would order from them more if the pricing was more reasonable, Su Changes has been our go to which is better priced. Blu Karma is a treat every now and then
google avatar

Todd T.

Yelp
Food is ok, and portions are adequate. However, be warned that blu karma charges two undisclosed separate fees for ordering food online: a $2 "online fee" and $3.26 "platform fee." Also, they are still not serving fortune cookies "due to Covid-19" on the eve of 2025. Junk fees + no fortune cookies = Do Not Recommend!

Yelp
Great food, great service, and a relaxed atmosphere. The menu had a lot of options, and everything we tried was fantastic. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive, making sure we were well taken care of. Highly recommend this place for a laid back meal. The variety and consistency of the food are a big plus

Yelp
Wow! Such fresh food and beautiful setting! I would definitely recommend this place!!

Yelp
We came on a Thursday afternoon and it was surprisingly busy. The restaurant is small and they offer some outdoor seating. We ordered the Thin-Crusted Sushi Pizza, Chili Wontons, Crispy Calamari, California roll and a nigiri set (from the specials menu). All the food was good, with my favorites being the calamari, and nigiri set. The calamari was huge, lightly crispy and a bit spicy which I enjoyed. The fish quality is also good. It is a little pricey, as I expect these prices more in Boston. They offer lunch specials on weekdays. They have a small parking lot and there is a plaza across the street. Service was good and friendly, however the staff watched all the tables very intensely which was a bit uncomfortable sometimes. It seems that they recognize regulars which is a nice feeling.

Yelp
So delicious! Very good sushi option on the north shore. The sushi sandwich is so good.
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, nice service but they need a little more tables as their is usually a wait, but guess that is a good thing.

Yelp
Sushi has fallen way off post-Covid. Sushi was fishy tonight and did not taste fresh. This used to be one of our go-to spots for takeout but now the only thing my husband and I can order from here is hot food. And even then $18 for 6 wings?! ... the sushi does not taste anywhere near as good as it used to which is so unfortunate! Also for ~ $25 a roll I expect better.

Yelp
Never have I gotten bad food! Service is wonderful! I order online at least once a week and they have NEVER screwed my order! Everything is always there!! Food is delish!!

Yelp
Love this place and it's a part of our weekly routine. The owners are amazing and kind and always take care of us. Some of our favorite food in the entire area and the vibe/music is always on point. Life long fans :)

Yelp
Their food is amazingly fresh. They greet you at the door and are very interactive. Love this place and eat there whenever I'm near Danvers.

Yelp
North of Boston, there is no other place that competes with Blu Karma! Their Sushi and Asian menu are bar none...the BEST! This restaurant is always busy, their service is amazing (love the people here, always accommodating) and the food is incredible whether dining in, take out and delivery for small or larger crowds! We host a New Year's Day party for family and friends and EVERYONE looks forward to coming to enjoy the delicious Sushi and Asian food. Their Sushi (especially the Special Maki) is the BEST and their Sushi Boats are a work of art! Everyone LOVES the food, it arrives fresh, on time and sets a positive tone for a fun afternoon of friends, family, card games and lots of laughs...truly a special memory! I met Tina (owner), many years ago and she has been gracious and always willing to suggest ideas and to deliver to Gloucester...we have enjoyed Blu Karma for 7+ years on New Year's Day, several family/friend summer parties and even work events. The service they provide and their food is top notch! I stopped by a couple days ago, Tina was out and Katy took over! Such a seamless transition...Katy has been so helpful in planning and suggesting some new dishes to try...and of course a Sushi Boat with popular choices. Katy has worked there for many years as well...this tells you a LOT about what a wonderful business and place to dine this is! I also want to thank the Chef and the Kitchen team for the care you provide to our order to ensure everyone enjoys (and appreciate your special accommodations for GF and other requests)...and they do! I also want to thank our delivery driver who has been there every year on New Year's - Happy New Year and THANK YOU ALL!

Yelp
More of a 2.5 from me, but I'll round up if only to discontinue my recent 2-star review streak. I came here once pre-pandemic and thought it was pretty good, but I guess not good enough to return or write a review. I've been wanting to come back so I did tonight. Not as good this time as I remember my first experience being. Sushi bar is closed for seating which is understandable with COVID. The interior is small so I sat outside and thankfully they had heating lamps since it's October. I ordered the Blu Karma maki ($21), rainbow maki ($17), ikura nigiri ($8), and lychee martini ($13.50). In general, the ingredients were fresh, but it wasn't the best sushi I've ever had. The portion sizes did not justify the high prices. Blu Karma maki was the best food item I ordered. Fresh and flavorful, although I wish the price was lower or the roll was bigger because while I liked it, I don't think it was worth the price. Something about the ikura tasted off that I can't quite describe but I still ate it. Rainbow maki was kind of weird. Every other sushi place I've visited has crab(stick), cucumber, avocado, and/or shrimp tempura instead, but this one just had crabstick and tobiko mixed with spicy mayo. I wasn't really a fan of that combination. It was okay otherwise. Lychee martini was good. Not too sweet or too strong with noticeable lychee flavor and came with a lychee fruit. Still, I've had better elsewhere. Service was decent enough. Hostess was very friendly. Waiter not so much, but he wasn't rude. Just came to take my order and give me my food, drink, and check. I probably won't be back any time soon for the same reason I didn't come back until recently. There's other sushi restaurants that comparable quality with better prices and portion sizes closer to me.

Yelp
The calamari is amazing. The ambience is so nice. The service was also very good. Must say I found this place on Google and I'm very pleasant with all the experience I had I will definitely go back.

Yelp
Our favorite weekly date spot! The owners are fantastic and so if the staff. We love the place, the vibe (music), drinks and the food. Awesome to have a spot like this in the north shore.

Yelp
Meh. Unpopular opinion of the bunch but we really didn't care for this place at all. After reading the amazing yelp reviews from all you fellow yelpers, we decided to dine in for lunch. The place is TINY. We weren't welcomed by the most friendly lady, but it is what it is. The room also looked like it needed a deep cleaning - which is never a good sign. The food was just OKAY, nothing out of this world good very bland. Lunch specials are a nice touch for value, however the flavor on both dishes we ordered was seriously lacking. Service was horrible, never asked how anything was, dropped the food and had a stink eye the entire time. Maybe they were having an off day but it just left a bad taste in our mouths - both the experience and food. Blah. Thank you, next.

Yelp
We showed up late, around 10pm, right after a comedy show at Off Cabot. Food was delicious. We ordered many dishes, Dan Dan noodle, tuna tataki, fried rice, chow fun, mango duck, chicken wings. Can't believe I haven't been here before until this evening. Staff was excellent, great service. It's a small cozy place too. Nice ambience. Coming back to try the sushi and Uni!

Ben R.

Yelp
Always consistent quality food and service. Sushi is outstanding as our their cooked dishes.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in north shore Must try the ribs, beef noodle, mango chicken Sushi is great

Yelp
Only had takeout was mediocre No meat in hot&sour soup Artificial crab legs gel apart in Tom yum soup Chicken fried rice was ok Chicken fingers also ok Mops tofu was good.

Yelp
Pretty solid place. Good atmosphere and good food. Owner is friendly too. Would go again.

Yelp
Always excellent food wether dine-in or takeout. Service when dining in is always very pleasant too. I'm kind of picky on where I get my Chinese Food fix, and these guys and gals do a superb job! - I just ordered takeout and now my mouth is watering!!!

Yelp
I've gone here now about 6x. With each time getting progressively worse. I'm not sure if they have the same routine cooks, but every time we try a new dish we instantly cross it off the list. While I can't speak to the sushi--their veggie rice has some of the oddest flavor, with a horrible lingering aftertaste--something does not taste right and leaves me feeling queasy. The veggie pad Thai--if cooked right and hot (it wasn't a couple times) is phenomenal. The crab Rangoons are good and their scallion pancakes are some of the worst I've ever had. 1 bite and I was spitting it in the trash. As you bite down your mouth fills with cold fry oil. It was the thickest, saltiest & greasiest pancake I've ever experienced no joke. At $35.00+ my money Could've been best spent elsewhere. Really disappointed in their food quality and consistency as I have many family and friends in the area that love it here. Out visits will only be for crab Rangoons moving forward

Yelp
Wow first time trying Blu Karma and it was outstanding. We started off with edamame and spicy tuna crispy rice. The edamame was perfectly season and it was a good amount for a starter. The crispy rice had lots of tuna which surprised me and it came with three large pieces of fried sushi rice. I enjoyed the mix of the crunch and the soft tuna, but I think next time i would try something else. Now for the main event... the sushi!!! I am queen of ordering a million different things and I prefer to do a mix of ala cart and maki as opposed to one of the sets. And pro tip when you order enough you will probably still get a boat (: For rolls, we ordered a boston maki (salmon avocado), a california roll, torched salmon roll, spider roll (soft shell crab) , idaho roll (sweet potato), and a lady in red (spicy tuna topped with tuna sashimi). I went with someone who isn't a huge raw fish fan, so it was important that we did a mix of cooked and raw. We both loved the torched salmon and the lady in red. They had such complex flavor profiles and were delicious. I also love sweet potato rolls and this one had the perfect balance of rice to sweet potato. I think next time we would get another special roll opposed to a California roll... it was fine but definitely not a favorite. I am ashamed to admit that I ordered the nigiri and sashimi just for my self and still managed to eat it all. I ordered Uni Nigiri, Ikura Nigiri, hamachi sashimi, and blue fin toro. The uni was fresh, delicious, and creamy though I will mention that the price on the menu did not match what I was charged but definitely worth it. The ikura was so perfect. You can really judge a sushi chef by their uni and ikura. I think next time I would do hamachi nigiri as opposed to sashimi. Its one of my favorites but I thought the pieces here were much more mild than I am used to. And can I just say wow about the toro. It was sooooo good. At $20 for an order of sashimi it was pricey but I honestly contemplated adding a second order of it ... it was that good. I'm glad I didn't have to share that because I think I would have cried if I had to give away that much perfection. And finally the cocktails. I love a lychee martini and the one here was perfect. Not too sweet but can taste the softness of the lychee. It is a stronger drink so if you like a sweeter cocktail this is not the one for you. My friend had a mango mai tai. She loved it and unlike the lychee martini this drink is on the sweeter side. All in all we had a delicious dinner and will definitely be returning.

Yelp
We have been meaning to try Blu Karma for awhile and it looks like we picked a busy night to do so! The parking lot was packed so we had to park across the street. The inside was even busier- the wait was estimated at about 20 or so minutes, but we ended up getting seated sooner. Something to note that the waiting area is fairly small so be conscious of that in bad weather. Overall, the experience was fantastic. Many folks in there were personally greeted by the employees, which meant I assume they're regulars. Our server was kind and efficient - made sure to check in but also left us alone to enjoy our drinks/food. We ordered the sampler to start and they allowed us to sub out the spring rolls and shrimp, which was great. For meals, we ordered chicken + veggie fried rice, Hunan chicken and chicken lo mein. Everything was so good! The portions are also quite large. The only disappointing part was the chicken/beef teriyaki on the sampler. In my opinion, the texture was a bit off and it lacked flavor for both. We didn't end up really eating them. However, everything else was fantastic. There's a reason this place is so busy! The vibes were really great and everyone seemed like they had a great time. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Bob L.

Yelp
This place has a small parking lot so get here early or at an off peak hour for the convenience! We went for the sushi boat for 2 and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sushi. I'm not normally a sashimi person (due to my experience with mediocre sashimi) but the taste here was quite fresh and delicious! Also another highlight is the $1 oysters on Sunday only which were absolutely delicious with the sauces they provide. Only 12 per person which seems like a lot but if you like oysters it's better to bring someone who isn't a huge fan to get more! We also got some pad Thai which was a bit different (lettuce and no bean sprouts). It wasn't bad and the chicken was very tender but it wasn't anything super special. I will definitely be back in the future (especially Sunday!).

Pascal S.

Yelp
I go to Blu Karma and get take once or twice a month! The food here is really a step above most other Asian restaurants in the area ! It is a little pricey but it is worth it! Last time I got the house Lo Mein Pork Belly Buns and the Bang Bang wings ! Everything was fresh and delicious! The wings were so good ! This place is great !
google avatar

Bobby E.

Yelp
Freaking incredible Sushi! Everything else was great as well. So nice to go to dinner and have a wait staff that checks in on you several times during dinner, but in a non intrusive way. And when the check comes to have somebody not standing over your shoulder, trying to see what kind of tip you're leaving is a pleasure.

Steve M.

Yelp
A tiny little gem in Danvers for anyone interested in high quality Asian food. From sushi to spring rolls you'll be surprised at how fresh and great their food is. Gets crowded so be prepared to wait.

Yelp
We stopped by for dinner last week, and fell in love with Blu Karma. They have an extensive menu featuring plenty of options for sushi lovers (and sushi not-so-much-lovers, too). We were pretty excited about the Yelp offer for a free appetizer, so make sure to use that if you go! The ambiance is great, service was very good, and they play fun music so it's definitely a good time. Plenty of veggie-friendly sushi rolls, and many unique ones for those who like fish. We are looking forward to coming back again soon!

Yelp
Love the quality and consistency. Great for takeout or dine in. The mango avocado dish is amazing. Excellent sushi.

Yelp
Everything from the staff to the food was excellent. I had chili wontons in peanut sauce to die for! A hit if spice but not too spicy. My husband had the wagu spice bowl and ate every bite moaning in between. We also had oysters that were small but very sweet. The drinks were a little pricey but loved our experience

Yelp
After hearing numerous people rave about Blu Karma, we decided to give it ago. I'll start by saying every single person in my family was disappointed by the food. I didn't have one happy camper out of the 6 of us The food is incredibly expensive for the portion size you receive. My kids literally spit out the beef teriyaki and said it tasted sour. The garlic green beans were ridiculously salty. I'm accustomed to salty Chinese food. This was on a whole other level. The scallion pancakes were greasy and gross. It's sad when Trader Joe's frozen ones are tastier. The shrimp lettuce wraps were underwhelming. The larb spring rolls were also hated by my spring roll loving kids. The only thing everyone liked was the Katsu. I 100% will not give Blu Karma another chance. First impressions were not pleasant.
google avatar

Ana L.

Yelp
Danvers is filled with mainly pizza shops and not-so-great Asian food. The fast food Chinese food here is good compared to other places in the area. Good servers and a great place to catch up with friends.
google avatar

Mariah O.

Yelp
The food was DELICIOUS! But the prices were insane. Yummy, but I would go here very rarely to eat. You can find cheaper places with the same quality food easily, especially in the New England area.
google avatar

Andrea W.

Yelp
Always a wonderful experience! The owners make it a point to connect with the customers. I love it when the owners are active because the restaurant are always managed well. Food, service and value I give this restaurant a top rating. Also they seem to always pay attention to the little things; napkins, clean plates, straws, check in with customers and you always receive what you asked for. A definite must try. Not open on Monday's.

N E.

Yelp
Gone downhill! Spent almost 70 all the food was REHEATED and gross and we're black in spots . The lomein wa soggy and gross! Barely ate any of it. This place used to be good but honestly to reheat and regrease food is dishonest business and shows me you don't care about your customers. I'll go to Jades in Peabody next time. Their food is at least not reheated. I feel ripped off.

Sandy H.

Yelp
Love blue, whether it's delivered or in the house dining. It's always great so flavorful so fresh, and is always a treat to have. We love the owners and the small town vibe that it provides us all here in Danvers!

Yelp
Blu karma was one of our family favorites. Spending time with the owner during dinner and catching up we were in very frequently. Since Covid, many changes have happened. Unfortunately, the taste HAS changed... I didn't want to write this for the last 4-6 months. In that period, I have decided that I would order more food and give them a chance to redeem what has gone wrong. But, it will never be the same. Blue Karma had the freshesf pork fried rice and the freshest everything when the doors opened and the next few years after..... we ordered beef teriyaki, which is like a staple for this restaurant.. and it tastes simply like chemicals and old meats. No nice way to say it. DO NOT EAT THE BEEF Teryaki!!!!!!! I've been charged for my take-out and got home realizing that I was missing some items, I called and said something about it and they told me I would be credited the next time I ordered. I've ordered many times since this has happened and I never noticed a credit. I'm not one to call somebody out on these things... but overall I am super saddened that Blu Karma is not fresh and delicious like it used to be the first few years of being open. I won't order her again. We on average spend 120$ and visit 3 times a month at least... Many others in our circle agree and word has spread. Maybe they will shut down and clean.... And are- set the business... It is clearly in need.of a.new.plan. Sorry not sorry. You're business is not good anymore.

Frouck T.

Yelp
Love this place! Worth every penny! Freshest and best sushi around! I've tried other places, and this one is tops!
