Blu Zen Caye Caulker

Blu Zen in Belize offers an exceptional island retreat! With three pristine pools and an on-site fitness center overlooking the Caribbean Sea, relaxation and wellness are at your fingertips. The resort provides complimentary bicycles, which I used to explore the island’s north and south end. Conveniently, free boat shuttles are available for easy island hopping, and you can even take your bike on the paid South Island ferry or enjoy a scenic walk to nearby islands. The two on-site restaurant serve delicious food with great service. I took advantage of the complimentary kayaks to paddle through the crystal-clear waters north through the trees. The accommodations are spacious and modern, featuring full kitchens and private terraces with stunning sea views. Blu Zen truly combines luxury with the natural beauty of Caye Caulker. Our friends brought us here. It was their 4th time. I want to come back with my whole family!

We loved our stay! Rooms are modern and clean. The staff greets you off the dock with drinks, they are super helpful with everything, and will help you book various trips. The massage studio and coffee shop are right there and great service. Both restaurants and others on the island were fabulous.

We rented a 2/2 condo which ended up being in a great location right next to the pool and restaurants. Just a 1 min walk to the ferry. I communicated via email with the staff and everyone was always so polite, prompt and professional. We were greeted at the pier when we arrived, given a welcome drink and then shown to our room. The unit was clean and very nicely maintained.||We took the ferry daily to the other side and it was always easy and prompt. One day we wanted to go leave but the BZ ferry was scheduled for a while so they called us a private Split to Split ferry who picked us up at the pier.||We did a fishing excursion and caught a lot of fish and they prepared it and cooked it all for us along with sides for less than $20/pp. and it was DELICIOUS!!||The only negative was each day the ladies would leave our sliding door unlocked after they cleaned it and left. We would have it locked when we left and always came back to it unlocked. I also think there should be a stick in the door for at night as an added level of security since many people are traveling with money and passports. Just can’t be safe enough! We never felt unsafe while there but it’s always best to be cautious.||We would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again.||Bring bug spray and spray often!! We got eaten alive at the bar and pool. We were in Belize for 11 days and by far the worst bug bite day were at Blue Zen. They were just terrible there and it would probably be best if they sprayed area or did it more often. We were there the last week of November and weren’t expecting to get chewed on but we were prepared with spray just were hoping we wouldn’t need it.

Hotel is pretty and secluded. We have stayed at many beautiful resorts and this is an honest comparison to those at same price points. The rooms are spacious. Staff is very accommodating and will arrange transportation and services. The pool temp is on the colder side. It would be perfect if they added a hot tub. Hotel shuttle schedule allows for easy access to the southern side. |Couple of notes:|Big warning is the bugs are very intense if you are prone to bites. I had a mosquito lotion, spray, and insect oils and nothing stopped the bugs biting all night. My body was on fire. This was not the case at another resort on the Caye. Also the toilets clogged many times. |For food - We recommend the Happy Lobster or pizza restaurant for dinner. Breakfast choices were not great - food and service was bad. And skip the Lotus. |Overall stay was good but average compared to others we have frequented.

We had a fantastic time at Blu Zen! We were very impressed with the attentive staff and attention to details. The welcome drink was delicious and the gym views were outstanding! Our rooms were very nice, with comfortable beds and a full kitchenette. Everything was clean and well kept. There were 3 pools and the food was good. There’s complimentary transportation to El Ben cabanas, where we had a really nice dinner. We took a snorkeling tour from the resort that was great. There’s not much to do so our short stay was the perfect amount of time to relax and unwind, and we’d definitely recommend Blu Zen.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. I first came here as a part of a group. The arrival was seamless - the staff is waiting for you at the dock and after a customized check in - you get your room and your bags are already delivered. The apartments are well appointed, the grounds are super nice and the ferry to go back and forth to the village is free and runs on a consistent schedule. The staff are AMAZING, truly dedicated to customer service. They remember you and are super friendly. When our group checked out, I had extended my stay at a different hotel which turned out to be awful. I quickly called Blue Zen back - they remembered me, got me a room and stayed late to make sure I could come back and check in. I will say it again - they mastered customer service. A big shout out to Jose and Erika who were always visible and made this happen. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Took their free boat shuttle from main Caye Caulker. Spent lovely afternoon: swam at beach, they allow visitors to louge at pool but not use as it's for guests which is very aok. Note have outdoor rinse showers and toilets. Had a drnk at outdoor bar, late yummy lunch in Cafe and got a few gifts at the nice market. If have a long stay, week or more worth a trip. Also riding bikes and hitting Bliss beach.

Beautiful resort, and just a step from your room to the beach and the amazing blue waters. Staff is super accommodating and on a first name basis. The excursions are great. I recommend fishing (locals style with and hand real), and snorkeling at Shark Ray Alley (bucket list). Also, if your there for a week or more, rent a golf cart to get around and see all of Caye Caulker. So far, one of my favorite places on earth. We will definitely go back to Blu Zen. 👍👍
