We enjoyed this establishment! The atmosphere, vibe and music was great. Every team member we encountered was polite and smiling. Jackie our waitress was wonderful. She gives very good customer service. My husband and I really enjoyed talking to Mr Randy. To top it off the owner came by and visited with us. Very laid back and made us feel even more welcome and relaxed. I had boiled shrimp. It wasn’t Louisiana spicy so ask for extra spicy but it was still good and flavorful. My husband had the fried catfish seasoned perfectly. My drink was delicious 😋 I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a casual outing with good food good prices and kickback. We’ll be back ⚜️

Google
We decided to try out this restaurant, I typically don’t leave reviews but this was an amazing experience. The seafood was immaculate! Nice and spicy. Our server Eduardo was a delight, providing excellent customer service, going the extra mile. He even offered to take a group Photo. I’m very impressed and I think my husband and I will become regulars here!!

Google
This cafe-bar has a great atmosphere and a good selection of music, ice-cold beers, and delicious cocktails. The food is top-notch, and the service is first-class.

Google
I've tried this place more a few times. The food is mediocre, prices reasonable, but HOW can a restaurant with a name like Bayou Blue be THIS empty at lunchtime? This is the Blackened Catfish. NOT very good.

Google
Our waitress Jackie was awesome. Very active and considerate. The food was great as well. I will be back

Google
Everything was great!!! A group of us drove in from Porter to catch some live entertainment and good food and we had the best time! They have an area with full tables, a nice size stage, and room for dancing plus a live DJ who really caters to his crowd. The food was great and we had a variety of drinks (beer, cocktails, and wine...there was something for everyone). The dirty rice was FLAVOURFUL!! Guillermo was a great host as he took a late call from me the night before to make a table reservation and our server, Jackie was just amazing!! She made sure the night was perfect for us! They have live entertainment all the time so we will return!

Yelp
Food was great and drinks were super strong on point. Been here before a few times and got the boiled platters. Get the G sauce
google avatar

Krystella Z.

Yelp
Not my favorite. The food is never that great. I wouldn't recommend if you want real Cajun seafood. Their service was okay, but a place I wouldn't return too.
google avatar

Yelp
Super good! Fresh food super nice waiter. we came for lunch how delicious! music wasn't too loud.

Yelp
Came in here craving crawfish. The 3lb combo (crawfish, sausage, corn, potato, covered in G-sauce) was about $40+tax. It was disappointing bc it was bland as heck. It was proportionate to everything offered, but the G-sauce was this awful corn starch thickened mess that was just straight bland. Some of the crawfish were bad, but it happens so I didn't account for it. The bartender didn't know what a cider, Paloma, or Ranch water was, so she winged it and also didn't do a great job at the drink I got (Paloma). Turned out to be about $100 after tip, which was disappointing bc I left hungry and not satisfied in the slightest. Go elsewhere tbh

Yelp
So good!!! We typically get the boiled seafood feast which is around $100 but we'll worth it for 2-3 people. This time around our lobster was half undercooked but everything else was good. The stuffed pork chop was enjoyed by numerous family members and the premium sampler appetizer is hands down a must order because is has a little bit of everything. We had a very large party for a graduation and there was only one waitress tending to half of the restaurant so wait time was a bit slow but overall not too bad.

Yelp
Started when I walked in the door to sit in the bar area. The bartender ask could she help me with something. I asked for a menu she was slow giving it to me. I ask about Happy Hour she rolled her eyes turn and handed me a happy hour menu and walked away. After about 20+ minutes later, she returned I told her what I wanted to drink and an appetizer. Which I sent back because it was cold. I was there for over hour and still the bartender didn't come over to take my food order. As people from her culture came in she spoke in Spanish and took their order. I spoke with the manager about the issue, she blow it off and walk away. After receiving my food the sauce was vinegar mixed with tomato paste and black pepper it was horrible. I told the manager about the issue and she just looked at me and walked away saying something in Spanish. Another guy at the bar witnessed the treatment and said that's not right. After all of the bad treatment I tipped and walked out. I see this is not a place for "Dark Skinned" people.

Sonia C.

Yelp
I went on Friday 4/5/2024 for dinner and to hear a out of town band and was charged a gratuity on 5 shots at the bar that mind you I went to order, pick up and delivered myself and I wasn't the only one this happened to, if I could give no stars I would beware always check your receipt.

Gail D.

Yelp
Food is horrible. I ordered Cajun wings & they were sitting in a sauce. 0/10 do not recommend We ordered Hennessy Lemon Drops & they charged for 2 separate drinks without telling us. GUACAMOLE IS A NOOOOOOO!! Service was horrible..
google avatar

Nate D.

Yelp
I'm from out of town and my co workers told me to try different restaurants jn the area. I was craving gumbo so I ordered from here. The process for getting my food that was ordered online was weird.....I've never ever had to show an email at any restaurant to verify food I bought. I thought my name would've suffice. That experience alone from an out of towner is the reason for the 1 star.

Dayani S.

Yelp
People here, don't know how to take orders. Waited my time, to pick up. Just to get there and my food wasn't put it, because the person on the phone, didn't ask me anything about how i wanted it.
google avatar

Billy V.

Yelp
The good at this place sucks big time. This was the worst meal I've had on this side of town. Don't waste your money and don't bother stopping here. People must come here for the drink because you have to be drunk to eat this food. Good lord it is the worst.

Glynesia S.

Yelp
I ordered through red truck outside. The young man that checked me out was nice. However as I was eating the crawfish I started feeling sick. I literally had Food poisoning. Will never eat from here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Let's start off with the good. The sweet tea was banging! My brothers fried shrimp were very tasty! My sister and I ordered the 8oz usda choice steak and it comes with a baked potato, veggies and a side salad. My son had the cheeseburger and fries. The baked potato was sooooo good! Light fluffy just enough butter, sour cream and toppings. The steak . I asked for mine medium with was well done and dry. Even with the sauce they had on top of it. We asked for A1 but they were out of it. This restaurant was a mixture of things... they had a Hispanic band playing, they had a trailer in the parking lot selling crawfish and they also sold seafood boils. Maybe we just picked the wrong thing.

Camila G.

Yelp
Food was nasty Service was 4/10 they just sit around you have to be looking for them to ask for something Ambience was good
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome restaurant. We arrived after the kitchen closed due to a cancelled flight. The manager opened the kitchen for us, the bar staff was incredible, went above and beyond. No request was denied, the staff made it work. Spicy Seafood boil was tasty, spicy with a Cajun/Spanish flare. DJ was singing live music. Highly recommend if you are looking for something different and want to enjoy a good time.

Daisy A.

Yelp
Their crawfish is delicious! This is the place we come to during crawfish season.Seafood Feast

Yelp
Absolutely disgusting! When this place first opened it must have been under different management. The service and the food was much better then. I gave this place two chances. The first was for lunch on a week day. Walked in and could barely tell the place was open. It was dank, dark and looked like the place was being used for storage. It smelled sour and unappetizing so that should have been my first clue. We ordered the Trio Pot and what we thought was Ponchartrain Oysters. The oysters came out in a stew of shredded cheese unseasoned shrimp and its own liquid. They were not char grilled as they should have been served. It was unbelievably nasty in presentation and taste. The Trio Pot was bland, swimming in butter with seasoning sprinkled everywhere and not at all prepared correctly. The second visit was for a birthday party and the food was so awful and unflavorful that out of 12 -15 people only 3 even ate their food. Others sent their food back requesting other items in hopes that anything would taste better than what they received. Don't go here! The only benefit is the convenience if you live on this side of town. And if that is the case, Mambos is a better option.

Yelp
The family was craving seafood on our way to Port Arthur so we decided to check out this spot and I'm glad we did. The gumbo was delicious and exactly what I grew up expecting. The pistoletts were equally great. My wife ordered the smoked oysters for the first time and was very impressed. The star of the show was our waitress Sanjuanita. The was very accommodating and attentive. We would definitely go back on our next trip.

Yelp
Went to Blue Bayou Cafe, 12008 East Fwy, Houston, TX. Ordered & paid for 7lbs of crawfish...got all the way home, weighed it & it was 5lbs. Tried calling the foodtruck back (# disconnected) called the restaurant several times (no answer). I drove all the way back & the manager, Ingrid, wouldn't remake my food, which was cold by then, not compensate me for the inconvenience. I asked the girl at the foodtruck why & she informed me "he said he didn't want to"

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! I have been here like atleast 10 times in the past 5 years and have never had a bad experience. The wait staff have always been friendly and helpful and knowledgeable on what specials are happening!! The G sauce is our family's favorite. We usually come here for the crawfish and shrimp pots! If you leave here hungry it's your fault!

Minerva M.

Yelp
The crawfish in Gstyle sauce are super spicy but delicious flavor. Oysters are good too! Service is awesome!

Beyonce B.

Yelp
I don't know if this place is racist or what cuz I feel like other people wouldn't have got served what I got.i ordered boiled shrimp and ate it cuz I didn't have gas to burn to go back.the potato was hard the shrimp had no flavor and the juice taste like threw up and it looked like mop water like wtf.serve people what you would want to be served
google avatar

MariaElena Z.

Yelp
First time at the restaurant and the food was pretty good and filling. The customer service was on par with the exception of me asking our server to wear a mask. He obliged and was well compensated with his tip. I've since ordered a delivered meal which was just as delicious as the meal at the restaurant. I'll be back. Give them a try if you're in the area.

Yelp
OMG!!! I am pescatarian and It was such a good variety I didn't know where to begin. I got the Crabvocado and the Shrimp stuffed jalapeños. The food was cooked to perfection, was well seasoned and great flavors.

Yelp
Can I rate this place 0 stars? I came in today with my family and were told we would have to pay for water!!! A water! Also wanted to get the Bayou Pot#2 (which is 6lbs of crawfish and other stuff) - So we requested the 6lbs be brought up 3 at a time so the bottom ones would t be cold when we got to them and they said no. I would have been fine with the no but my server Mayquel said he would ask the manager and the manager said no. When the manager came by he was rude- cut me off and said the general manger "Won't come by and was here". I will NEVER come to this restaurant again. This has been PISS POOR Customer Service and I would NEVER Recommend this place to ANYONE! For a first time visit- I would say I wasted a trip! P.S. the small crawfish were not worth it

Alfonso M.

Yelp
Stars are only for the cold beer and the awesome bartenders Giselle and Deziray. My ears are bleeding, there's some girl singing and she is horrible! Please take the mic away from her!
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
I'll admit that my review is solely on the crawfish and service. Their fried pickles are too oily. Their gumbo is not bad. Their desserts are okay at best. Now, they do offer live crawfish and have bundles (rather than selling by the pound) which are worth it! If you haven't tried it yet, GET THE G-STYLE SAUCE! I've been coming here since this place was called the Swamp Shack and it has not lost it's quality food with the change of ownership. The G-style is a bit of a tomato-y flavored sauce. It's thick and well seasoned. Tastes amazing! I love the prices and flavors. One small thing is that I don't like their corn and potatoes.. sadly. I came for Valentine's Day and they had a special that included 2 alcoholic drinks, your choice of salad or gumbo, 2lbs or crawfish, 1lb of shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes, and dessert! All for real cheap!! So look out for specials like that too. I consistently drive here from the Katy area because I love this place that much!
google avatar

Annette L.

Yelp
Spectacular loved it. Food is authentic and Cajun with rich avocado and seafood . Loved to board specials.

Ardara H.

Yelp
Very good customer service. Highly attentive. Nice friendly smiles. Food wasn't too hot but it was good. Seasoning went through the food instead of just on top. Music is at a nice decibels fairly clean. Nice functional televisions all about. Sweet tea was actually sweet. I will recommend stopping by and eating here, you will surely come back. Thank you Ariana Gracie G, you did an awesome job.

Jerred D.

Yelp
This way my first visit to Blue Bayou Cafe. And we got the blackened catfish and étouffée as well as the crawfish platter. The fish itself was okay, but the étouffée was very odd. And to be honest, it smelled, looked, and tasted like what I imagine cat vomit would taste like. This was our experience on both of the platters we ordered. The fried crawfish looked like it came from the frozen on Food Town. Looking for positives? the boudin ball was not terrible. The waitress was trying her best to be accommodating but there was no masking this disaster of a dinner. I think the chefs should be force fed their own concoctions so they understand just how bad it is. Considering that Pappadeaux is just next door, spend a little more for real food.
google avatar

Christina C.

Yelp
Definitely would recommend, I eat crawfish from here all the time and it's the only place I know that you can get crawfish all year long! Definitely ask for G, he's super helpful and makes the most amazing sauce! I like spicy a lot and the crawfish in the "G" sauce is by far the best seasoning/sauce I've ever had with crawfish, it's definitely like a creamy sauce rather than an oily soup that some places use. For me, the sauce is spicy with just enough kick to get you to enjoy rather than just eating! Like having a top shelf liquor vs a well. On top of this, the crawfish is cooked perfectly!! It's not rubbery and comes with a variety of sizes but some of these look more like tiny lobsters! I feel guilty not eating the claws. .
google avatar

Zach P.

Yelp
Well let's do some math: 1.5 for the food and 2.5 for the entertainment. Good group of regulars that a traveler like me observe from the other side of the fish tank. The locals here beat what I've seen in PDX- downtown... Hard to beat the TX hospitality and the big TX smiles. Watched this little kid F around with a gum ball machine till the point it toppled off the pedestal and dropped gum balls all over the dining room. Now the cops are here. Yes, I'm not in Cali anymore! Lucky to get cops to show up if your house was robber let alone gum ball vandalism by a 5 year old! Don't mess with Texas's !
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
Looks are deceiving!! Unfortunately, the boiled platter did not have fresh crawfish at all. You can taste it was previously frozen and too chewy. The shrimp in the bacon wrapped shrimp was undercooked. The crawfish cheese burger was a good idea if the crawfish wasn't chewy. The manager said they have had plenty of complaints but can't do anything about the crawfish because it's not in season. First and last time here.

Jorge C.

Yelp
If I could, I would give this place half a star. The food was TRASH! I ordered boiled seafood and asked for the spicy option. The food was completely tasteless; even the OG sauce that they drowned the food in had no flavor. My server was great, but her coworker was extremely rude. I asked for an extra side of seasoning when I could not find my server and she was beyond rude about it. She said she would get some and never did. Don't waste you're money at this place. If you want good seafood, unfortunately this isn't the place. I paid nearly $80 with tip, and I didn't eat most of my food because it was so bland. They claim to have been voted the best seafood in Houston, which is clearly a lie.
google avatar

Nicole A.

Yelp
It was so good....the food was fresh and full of taste. The waiter "Eddy" was very attentive and had great service. I would highly recommend this place to all my family and friends
google avatar

Victoria V.

Yelp
Seafood was good nice and hot with spice. There was a small wait about 10 mins when we went we had a large group. There was a gentlemen playing music which made the night fun. It is kind of pricey but hey it's seafood expect it .
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
The first time I came here it was amazing. I got the crab mix combo and it came with plenty for me and my girlfriend and tasted really good. The second time we came back we forgot to ask for spicy so it wasn't as good plus the amount of crab and sides we got was a little different (not as much). They had two dollar margaritas though that were really good. The third time we went the crab pot was again different than last time but we remember to get spicy. It was okay but not as good as the first time. If this restaurant could be consistent I would give 5 stars. The photo below is from the first visit.

Yelp
Uggh. We wanted Crazy Allen's Swamp Shack. Their location is closed, and Blue Bayou is now a Roadhouse-chic version of a seafood restaurant. They are very confused. Never have I been served chips & salsa at a joint serving boiled crawfish. I ordered the boiled mud bugs and smoked oysters-something. I will give the oysters 5 stars. Unique, tasty, and smoky, even it was Liquid Smoke, they came with a shrimp on top of each oyster, then smothered in a melty cheese. It's a funky flavor combination in and of itself, but why add cocktail sauce. I tried it, and it did not work. They crawfish get two stars. I had to toss a third of them away because they were cooked frozen. This is clearly their plan to stretch their inventory. The frozen ones were black, rather than red, and the meat had withered inside. (The only other possibility is that they reheated 1/3 of my bugs) Anyway, I ordered the crawfish spicy, and it came with a thick, almost stew-like sauce filling the bottom of my bowl. I had to ask for a bucket for my shells. My co-worker ordered the fried shrimp platter & reported the shrimp tasted like the fryer oil was old. Next time, I think we will continue all the way out to Kemah and go to the remaining Swamp Shack.

Robert L.

Yelp
Over the past several weeks my wife and I have gone to the restaurant and each time the service has declined. Last week when we went we were seated in the bar area and we were almost completely ignored as the bartender was also a waitress so to give her a fair chance so we decided to come back again one week later. We were seated in the regular dining area and our waitress only had two other tables but yet she was completely disorganized. Our order was not taken correctly and it was just general disorganization. So my wife and I will be skipping this restaurant for the time being. PS we did ask for the manager but it was told they were unavailable.
google avatar

Chris Z.

Yelp
Save your money and don't go to the trash can of an establishment! Service sucked, management did not care and sucked , food sucked as well. Food took over an hour to come out and 5 out of 7 order were wrong ! Took 30 minutes for a manager to come talk to us and they still tried to charge us for food we did not eat! If I could give no stars, I would !
google avatar

Theresa M.

Yelp
I throughly enjoyed my large portion of red beans and rice, and my sweet tea. Service was fast and friendly. Large seafood menu.
google avatar

Nicole V.

Yelp
It's where Alan's swamp shack was at, honestly it was okay only because the manager did help and came around more then our waiter. She forgot to ask what my daughters wanted to order. It wasn't the best with the service nor the food. I order the feast boil only thing I liked was the shrimp, it was lacking flavor. It looks yummy but the lobster wasn't even cooked all the way at first I had to let them know they re did it but still wasn't my favorite overall.
google avatar

Terry S.

Yelp
Had to send back appetizers and food because when food came the pasta was wrong then when they brought out the right one there was literally a fry in my food I had really high hopes for the quality of the food and staff but I should have known when the last time I came it was swamp shack and this is a whole differed place won't be back buuuuuuutttttttt if you want to pick up some cheap crawfish this is the spot cash price though to go
google avatar

Danica J.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst, no flavor or spice & the cooking of everything was horridly inconsistent. Don't waste your time, gas, money or sanity. So disappointed.
google avatar

Roshida D.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to have lunch and drinks. Worse mistake ever! While the drinks were strong, there was no distinct taste. My husband ordered the onion rings, awful! The flouting was gross! The onion rings were gritty and tasteless. We told the waitress and returned them. I had scallops wrapped in bacon. No taste at all except for the over cooked bacon. My husband ordered 6 jumbo shrimp to go. Again, no taste. Extremely disappointing and we will never visit there again. They took $3.00 of the bill. What a waste!

Michael D.

Yelp
I should have never entered the restaurant when I pulled into the parking lot. What is this place, a club playing loud Tejano music or a restaurant that serves Cajun food? Well it is neither. We tried to sit outside, but the restaurant is located right next to I-10 and the road noise was unacceptable. The drinks. The Bloody Mary was OK, the Long Island was weak, the premium Boudreaux Margarita was too sweet and very foamy. The food. The Gator Bites were OK. The Chicken and Sausage Gumbo was horrible. It had the taste of overcooked burnt chicken. The side of Dirty Rice was not Cajun dirty rice, it had some strange mix of spices, like Mexican spices that did not add to the taste. I ordered Blackened Grilled Shrimp and just got Grilled Shrimp. Won't be going back.
google avatar

Brad C.

Yelp
Best seafood and service I've had in forever! The owner, Mr. G, was super friendly and nice, and you can tell he cares about his restaurant. The fried shrimp and catfish platter was excellent, loved the batter and cooked to perfection. The gumbo was delicious with a homemade roux. I will definitely be back! Here's a pic of some more of the awesome food. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Erica V.

Yelp
First time here and it didn't disappoint! Waiter John Michael so attentive and friendly! Cold mug with each beer . We had fried calamari as an appetizer and three of us ate the crawfish and crab with potatoes, sausage and corn. Chicken Cajun pasta was also really good! Highly recommend!
google avatar

chrissy m.

Yelp
I was on my way to Pappadeaux's but so happy I stopped here. Much better prices and great food. Their hurricanes are strong and their grilled oysters even better. They have a great bar area which is a make or break for me. I like to sit at a bar and relax maybe watch TV and this place is that. I'll be back often now.
google avatar

Misty A.

Yelp
We had a large party for a bday and the staff was amazing! There were 25 people all food came out right. My Cajun pasta was yummy. No one complained about the food and everyone left happy *side note would love to see a lunch menu on Saturday!!!
