"Housed in the century-old Savona Mill, this brewery is easy to access via the Stewart Creek Greenway and has a modest selection of beers with names inspired by Appalachian Trail markers. Expect a taste of locally sourced ingredients in the brews, which range from the malty Blue Blaze Altbier to the sweeter Yellow Blazer Kölsch." - Remy Thurston

Google
We’re so excited to try Blue Blaze Brewing in Charlotte, North Carolina. Loved their space. There was a nice outdoor space with shade and they also had a very nice indoor space and a loft. The bathrooms were super clean also. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Loved their selection of beers. I also love you could get a 16 or 20 ounce pour. They had a food truck as well but we didn’t get to enjoy that. Definitely next time. Super dog friendly as well. Will definitely go back!

Google
Excellent little beer joint. Good atmosphere and a large selection of beer to choose from. They also had a VERY good food truck in the parking lot the night we came here called a "Taste of Hawaii".

Google
Cute small brewery with great beer choices. We got a Groupon deal for this brewery that was too good to pass on and we are glad we went. S’mores pit was going outside and the Charlotte Brewery Bus tour was bustling in. It was fabulous ❤️

Google
Great environment, friendly staff and the brew was spot on! It has a diverse setting with multiple seating options both in and outside. Relax down by the fire pits, let your dogs play in the partially fenced area or bring them inside. The natural wood bar is beautiful and rustic mixed with good tunes playing overhead. Cornhole is available too! This is going to become a staple in the future.

Google
Another great Queen City craft brewery to add the ever-growing list! Fantastic taproom (luv the rocking chairs!) and they have fire-pits outside (perfect for fall nights like tonight) and they even have “unlimited s’mores” supplies inside for $2 per person. They offer pints and generous pour flights, so you get your money’s worth. Their “trail-themed” names are cool for the simple fact they educate on trail terminology if u want to explore the Carolina Thread Trail. Their doppelbock is a must-try!

Came in right on open with my wife/toddler. Enjoyed the beer and it was a pleasant experience. A lot of space to bring friends and enjoy the atmosphere.

Google
Knowledgeable and warm bartenders. Abundant outdoor space to sit at along with a two story indoor option. Nice merchandise. Wish there were food options available for purchase. Great area at the end of a walking path. I'll be back to visit again soon.

Google
Great environment. Not great parking. I was here for free tacos !! Love the beers and the large selection which you don't find often at a brewery of this size. Would definitely come back. They also have a wall of musical instruments that you can plan. I love when a business promotes creativity and artists.

Yelp
Dang, it sucks when good places are closing. I caught the news that Blue Blaze is allegedly facing a massive rent hike* and even though West End isn't my usual stomping ground, I headed over for a beer. On a drizzly and overcast Sunday afternoon, there's a super comfy vibe here. Inside and outside seating including a neat upstairs section. Small tables, a bar and some bigger community tables set up with table games. Outside, picnic tables with umbrellas. The four-top tables are next to power outlets so I was able to charge my electronics while enjoying this tasty Kölsch. Because they don't have a kitchen, they allow dogs. Blue Blaze is on the Stewart Creek Greenway so if you're out for a walk, stop by while you can. [Review 260 of 2024 - 3521 in North Carolina - 21295 overall.] * I don't have a personal consumer relationship with Portman Holdings so I can't review them. But the owners of Blue Blaze sure can. https://www.yelp.com/biz/portman-holdings-atlanta

Yelp
Cannot believe this was my first time ever coming to Blue Blaze! I met a friend for a quick drink before her yoga class so we could catch up and I was pleasantly surprised by this brewery. I came on a weekday around 5:30pm so it was empty, which I didn't mind. The ladies serving beer behind the counter were lots of fun and really personable! I ordered the sobo orangerine hazy IPA and enjoyed it a lot. It was lowkey pretty strong lol. I was a little buzzy after just the one beer. Absolutely no complaints there lol. This brewery seems pretty chill and it's a lot smaller than most breweries in the city so it's really intimate. It gave me the vibes of a cool/chil neighborhood bar. I'd definitely come back to this spot for a cold brew!

Yelp
So Pros- The beer was good They had gluten free options Games on tables for something to do Cute outside area Dogs allowed Only con They did not have food onsite..... The beer tenders were so nice and when in town we will be back. Would have given it 5 stars if they had food. Even a food truck would have been nice...

Yelp
Good beer, friendly service, and they love dogs. Normal offerings from a microbrewery...nothing from my visit jumps out. Tried 4 different beers from different styles and I would order all of them again. They do seasonal short batches too, so that's always cool if you want something more special. Cool space inside, but not a ton of seating. Same outside really. It's just not a massive place and that's okay. This is kinda like the Cheers of microbreweries. Since it's sorta out on its own, off the beaten path, so to speak, it feels like a ton of people that live nearby just hangout there. Dog park on the side of the building, yep, bring your dogs! Parking is free in a gravel lot across the street. We found the music outside to be pretty loud, especially if you were close to the entrance. Firepits outside are a nice treat. They do full 64 oz. pitchers of beer and growler fills!!!! YES!!!! And most are only 12 to 14 dollars each. Yeah man, that's it!!!! So killer. Wish I lived in the neighborhood, though my belly is glad I don't. Why don't more breweries do the same? No wifi. This always bums me out. This place is way relaxed, so maybe, go check it out.

Angela V.

Yelp
It's located a short walk from the city yet feels like you're in a cabin in the mountains. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. The beer is underrated in Charlotte and the staff is so friendly! Plus, all the weekly events are great! I started coming to Blue Blaze when I heard about their Wind Down Wednesday Yoga and while I was pregnant I attended their Prenatal Yoga with Abby! I've attended one of their First Fursdays and brought my dog to the taproom, which was enjoyable for both me and her. This is one of my favorite spots in Charlotte to bring friends and there's no question I'll be back.

Yelp
Roaming through the city and happened upon this gem. I am always down to checkout a new brewery and this one didn't disappoint. It's a little tucked away, but has a beautiful taproom with loft and ample outside seating. The person behind the bar was very warm and friendly and suggested some of their brews for a flight. All of the brews were tasty. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Jordan B.

Yelp
Really good brewery. They have a good amount of beers to choose from and various types to accommodate all beer drinkers. The bar is slightly on the smaller side, but the line moves fairly quickly. Located in a cool place with railroad tracks next to it. It has a good space with bench tables in the open area out front and seating along the side patio. Inside, there are a good amount of long bench tables you'd find in a beer garden and there is also seating upstairs. In the brewery area, the garage doors open when it's nice out and there are rocking chairs and seating available. It's pretty cool! Would recommend trying it out!

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
I don't drink beer, but this is definitely my favorite brewery in Charlotte. To start with, they offer some good non-beer options. They have both cider and kombucha which is nice. People I go with seem to enjoy the beer as well. The atmosphere is very laid back. They have games on the tables. The even provide complimentary snores materials for customers to use with the fire pits they have outside. The real reason why I love this brewery is their focus on outdoor activities. I recently went to a backpacking workshop series that they're hosting which was awesome. They have a hiking club. They're sponsoring a trail angel camping event in the spring. All of their events are awesome and something you won't find around town. You'll see the hiking and outdoors theme carry over to the decor as well. There's no food, but they frequently have a food truck on site. If you haven't been, I would recommend checking it out. It's one of Charlotte's more unique breweries.

Julie P.

Yelp
Solid rotation of beers. Great outdoor space (read: rustic, campfire like). Lots of instruments on the wall to play as you drink. Snack options - both free and for purchase. Their s'mores beer - a seasonal - is a definite favorite and I'm not even a fan of the real deal. It's flavorful, bodied but light and has a solid ABV. All their staple beers are named after trail markers and they really embrace the hiking/camping/outdoor life. They also have multiple fire pits and you can purchase kits to make s'mores. The whole theme comes full circle. It's a good spot to start or end an adventure, as it's right on the walking trail towards Wesley heights and the stadium/uptown.

Tommy S.

Yelp
Great beer and great service. It's a quieter brewery than you normally find in Charlotte, but that's one of the biggest draws.

Lauren S.

Yelp
One of my favorite breweries in Charlotte and I now live in walking distance to it. The atmosphere inside and outside is not the same as every other brewery. The inside is like a beautiful terrarium and outside has stumps to sit on and fire pits as well as rocking chairs on the porch. It's just such a cozy place. They do some cool events throughout the year too. Not only is it an awesome place to hang out but the beer is some of my favorite! Never had a bad beer here actually. I love their black ipa, milk stout (black blaze) and the SOBO, which is an orange hazy ipa. During covid-19 they have a tent outside where you can order Togo items. You can even order online and pick up or they are doing deliveries a couple of days a week! $12 for growler refills right now.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
I love this brewery! Blue Blaze has been a favorite ever since I moved to Charlotte a few years back. The facility is awesome and atmosphere is amazing! I love the cozy feeling and how it's tucked off of the greenway. They are extremely dog friendly and used to have an area on the side that would close off so your dog could run around (closed now due to construction, hopefully it'll come back). The staff and the owner are also top notch. I remember visiting during Covid and it was just myself and two friends there. It was close to closing time so we were getting ready to leave but then the owner asked if we wanted another round for free, and he just stayed and played guitar while we enjoyed the round. I can't think of another place that would do this! The service is really unmatched and they've got a loyal customer in me! I would suggest trying out their S'mores Nitro beer on draft if they have it available- that's my favorite!

Yelp
Went to Blue Blaze on Easter Sunday. Great time with great people. Not a traditional Easter celebration but times have changed; family going in every direction. Nice brewery with good beer. We played Chucko and enjoyed the beautiful day outside. They provide popcorn which is by the bar for anyone to grab. They also provided all the fixins' for smores. They had a firepit going for you to make your own Smore. They were great...but what Smore isn't? Later in the day, they had someone set up to sell food. It seemed to be a hit for those who ate. They had an Easter Egg Hunt with a few other breweries. 50 eggs per brewery; many with a sticker, or a coupon for a map. We were probably the 20th customer there and we found it difficult to find the eggs. Within 20 minutes new customers could not find any eggs so it was unlikely there were 50 eggs. Apparently, the other breweries had no issues as people that came a few hours later left with several bags where they won a prize at Blue Blaze from eggs at another brewery. A great idea to get people to visit other breweries for sure.

Yelp
This is a really great place to visit in Charlotte. The brewery is rather small inside, but there is regular seating, bar seating, and even some seating upstairs on the second floor. Outside is another story. There is plenty of room for a lot of people to fit. There are rocking chairs and other outdoor seating around fire pits. Unfortunately, I went when it was raining, so I couldn't enjoy the outside. The service is good. The beers are pretty impressive as well. They have FREE snacks as well as plenty of ingredients for s'mores when the fires are going!!! OMG-yes you read that right-FREE S'MORES!! Yes! What a unique idea! I can not wait to get back and try them, also sit and enjoy a nice fire!

Maria P.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite breweries in Charlotte. The staff is friendly and always willing to strike up a conversation. If you play guitar, they have several different ones you can play as you sit around one of their various fire pits. Speaking of fire pits, for $2 you can purchase stuff to make s'mores. They provide that plus the skewers. While they don't have full meals available, there are plenty of snack options. You can also order food with my personal favorite being Bisonte. Occasionally they also have food trucks. Make sure to check out their FB Page. They constantly are posting different events from yoga to speaking engagements from outdoor lovers. This is a dog friendly brewery. Oh yeah- they also make great beer! My favorite is their seasonal s'mores blonde ale.

Anthony T.

Yelp
I really like the Blue Blaze Brewery atmosphere. If Blue Blaze Brewery were a person, he or she would probably live on the Catawba River in a custom-built camper van. Blue Blaze Brewery is your place if you're a vagabond, vagrant, hippie, hiker or yogi that also enjoys socializing with friends over a pint. Every customer is welcome to enjoy free popcorn and smores. And-if you're like me-you'll enjoy the lack of loud music. Blue Blaze Brewery is one of the few breweries that is quiet enough that I don't have to shout to have a conversation but loud enough that I eavesdrop on the table next to me. If you're not a fan of beer-do not fear-they feature at least one kombucha and one cider option.

Stephanie J.

Yelp
New brewery stop in Charlotte! It is located in an odd part of the city but keep on driving until you see it. Boyfriend and I were able to try all of the Blue Blaze beers in two flights the flight price was competitive): Blue Blaze, Amber Blaze, Double Blaze, Black Blaze, Yellow Blaze, PCT 'Murica Style IPA and Radlinger Shandy Favorites: Black and Double Blaze (if I had to recommend one beer it would be the Black Blaze) Such a beautiful brewery. Plus, the guys working were super chill.

Dionah T.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem and I'm so glad a friend and I found it. From the time I walked in, the bartender was friendly and greeted us. It was a nice day so we bought our beers then headed outside to make s'mores (all the ingredients are near the bar and free to customers). Who knew that it was SO HARD to start a fire (lol)... the bartender came outside to bring us our water pitchers to put the flames out after we were done (fire safety first) and saw that we were struggling. It took her all of 5 seconds to get a nice flame going and she was so happy to help! If you're just wanting a place to get away (without getting away) and a cold brew, check this place out. To all my lovely introverts... the reading nook upstairs is perfect for an afternoon read; small talk is optional. I'll definitely be back!

Kristin S.

Yelp
Blue Blaze has a great space, and I enjoyed the beer. I'm not big into IPAs (but they are apparently good). I had a seasonal fruit beer that rotates, and it was really good! They have a lot of games outside and picnic tables, so it's a good environment to hang out with a group of friends. Overtime, the location will get better but it is definitely a destination. You won't go there and hop from place to place, but they have a nice setup that will make you want to stay. Definitely worth a visit!

Jenn H.

Yelp
This is a great hidden gem. Located just off the Stewert Creek Greenway trail in Charlotte's West End. This brewery's tap room is gorgeous, you feel like your in a ski lodge. They even have free snacks, including stuff to make smores on the fire pits located outside! Inside has picnic tables for gathering with friends as well as a loft area with chairs and couches. They have thought of everything here, from a selection of books in the loft, to games and guitars downstairs for playing. They have a great selection of beers available on tap at the brewery, I highly recommend getting a flight and trying some out.

Erik C.

Yelp
What a cool place!! We were in from Michigan and will be back every time we are in Charlotte. Very smooth and tasty beer. The S'more and SoBo are top notch. Great outdoorsy vibe with games to play with friends and family and s'mores kits to enjoy around the campfires outside.

Allison F.

Yelp
We went pretty early on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. The space was great very large with two layers of outside space. We loved the rocking chairs! We got a flight and the beers were good there's also a little self serve table Of snack which we loved. We'd like to try it again maybe with more friends or at a busier time just to see how it is.

Melissa B.

Yelp
Visiting friends in Charlotte and had my two younger girls with me. We walked here from her house (stopping at a playground along the way) and arrived to a great open space with communal seating, great beers, and coloring books, popcorn, and jenga for my kiddos. Service is friendly and place is easy to walk to. Will definitely go back when we are back in town.

Michael B.

Yelp
We sampled their beers at 201 Central and decided to make a trip to visit the brewery one weekend. My first impression after asking Waze to drive there was that the location is HORRIBLE, it's in the middle of the dumps, away from anywhere you want to be at night, and while I drove there avoiding potholes with my wife and kid, I had very, VERY low expectations of the place... After I walked in though, I was blown away! The tap room is GORGEOUS! A loft area with some couches, nice seats, and a row of books to sit down and read provides a classy touch to the warm open area lined with a few long benches and smaller tables. The bar is modestly sized, with a window open to the brewing area. Multiple Acoustic guitars hang on the wall with a large note challenging you to pick on up and play. Checkers line the edge of the benches, and a shelf provides you with options to pick up a game, grab a beer, sit down and relax for a while. More keeps coming though - a cart offering graham crackers and marshmallows tell you to grab a lighter, a stick and go outside to make smores in the multiple hobo fire pits lining the grass. During the summer, I can imagine how nice it would be to sit in the hammocks with a pint and enjoy the sun. The important part - the beer! The bartenders were friendly, knowledgeable about their selection, and fast! They gave us some recommendations for our flights, and we took them to the table. The beers are solid - with the Amber being my favorite. Nothing I tried was mind blowing, but everything was very easy to drink. I want to sample more, without my wife and kid, and just sit back and relax in the taproom for a day. There is not food for sale, but they have delivery available with some pre-packaged snacks in a fridge. The tap room is by far the nicest in Charlotte, and easily the most warm and welcoming! We will return!

Victoria S.

Yelp
We went in at 7:30 on a Friday evening and there were a few tables filled but plenty of open seats. The bartender was nice and helpful and there were s'mores fixings and popcorn for patron enjoyment. The pink blazer (Hefeweizen) is my favorite. We will definitely be back! I just wish there was food onsite daily.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Came for a bike event. Great selection of beers. They have a cute cart inside that has snacks for patrons to enjoy Wish they had a daily food truck or food onsite.

John H.

Yelp
Ever since this place opened up, I had been curious to check it out... only I never really get "out" to this side of town especially since everything I do is within stumbling distance of my house. I do really like their space, modern yet warm with all the wood and cool decor. The very first thing I noticed walking up were the rocking chairs outside and folks were actually firing up the fire pits for some outdoor hangouts. Plenty of parking up in front of the building as well as a dedicated gravel lot across the street. I'm pretty sure you can probably find some side-street parking if the situation is dire, but despite the parking lot having plenty of spaces, the tap room was pretty busy. Lots of tables and a "2nd" floor loft. I don't remember seeing any TV's, which is great cause I think it's great to enjoy the company of those you are drinking with. Blue Blaze Beer is pretty solid. I'm glad they were available at the new Christmas Village this past year and I've been seeing them in more and more local events. They even have other local beers on tap so you can't go wrong just supporting local creativity, business, and good times. Beside the bar there was a snack station with peanuts that I thoroughly enjoyed (I tried to keep it neat, but the shells just go everywhere - sorry staff!). The staff and bar tenders make for a fun atmosphere and really relaxed outing.

Jordan L.

Yelp
A nice brewery with good outdoor space. I think it's great that Blue Blaze is dog friendly so that if you're trying to get out and enjoy the day with your furry friend you can stop by here for a couple of drinks still. I'll have to come back and try a few of their other beers but I definitely enjoyed the Pink Blazer. If you enjoy pineapple it's got a nice hint of that flavor. The free popcorn, marshmallows, graham crackers for customers is a plus too.

Katie E.

Yelp
Loved this brewery! I went here with sorority sisters for trivia night. Only downside is that trivia was cancelled and they didn't update the website. Love the beer through - my favorite was the pink beer. They have games and allow dogs which is a plus. There was also a food truck!

Michael N.

Yelp
Blue Blaze can be a little tough to spot, as you need to be standing directly in front to see the signage. There is a separate, decent sized gravel lot across the street for parking. My first impressions walking across the street to the brewery were not the best. First there was a guy selling popsicles/ice cream out of the back of a minivan that was blaring music. Next, and you can't make this stuff up folks, there was a high speed car chase about fifteen seconds later. A black car with heavy tint was being chased by the cops. The taproom itself is tastefully done - heavy on the woods seems to be the norm nowadays -and the AC felt great on an almost 100 degree day. The beer itself was unimpressive - two stars for me - the Kolsch was just okay. Probably enjoyed the black IPA most - it's pretty intense, so it took my palate a few sips to get adjusted. The Altbier and Amber were just not good. Even though I had been forewarned about the beer by some other Yelpers and fellow beer lovers, I went in with an open mind. A flight of 4 for $5 was very reasonable. There are also guest taps in case you don't care for their beer but like the environment. The female bartender looked surprised that I came back with two almost full sampler glasses and didn't ask if I wanted to try anything else instead/additionally. There's so much good beer in Charlotte now that I'm afraid this place (unless it's just your personal cup of tea, or in your neighborhood) will get lost in the mix. For example, Wooden Robots's Overachiever Pale alone blows away everything on the beer list here. Rounding up to 3 stars for the tap room and the super nice people selling hotdogs who were so kind to my children. Both dog and kid friendly here.

Rhea K.

Yelp
I attended a sneak peek grand opening party with about 100 other people. It felt crowded and busy, but not overwhelmingly so -- a good number of people in the space. It was about 95 degrees outside, so everyone was inside avoiding the heat - there is certainly more capacity when you can comfortably take advantage of the outdoor spaces too. The venue is tucked into a neighborhood in the West End, it's a little off the beaten path ...for now. There's a main parking lot in the front of the building and 2 side lots (that are not that well-lit, I would likely avoid parking there at night until they get some brighter lights out there). Oddly, there are a couple old train cars in the side lot that look like they've been burned a few times - weird, but cool. The brewery and taproom are gorgeous. There's lots of beautiful, exposed wood throughout the tasting room. The front porch has rocking chairs and picnic tables. The interior has several large communal tables downstairs - or, you can head upstairs to a loft area for a more intimate setting. The beers - we were able to try several during this event. We had a kolsch, IPA, black IPA, shandy (made with the kolsch and a grapefruit/citrus soda), amber, and a stout. The beers were all very tasty and worth trying. I'm not a fan of IPAs, so those were a bit lost on me, but overall nice selection. The amber really stood out with a rich flavor. They were also serving a number of guest taps from other local breweries - I don't know if this will remain long-term, but it's a nice option as they are building up their offerings. Behind the bar, you'll see a number of guitars and banjos hanging on the wall. For a refundable deposit on your bar tab, you can check out an instrument for your visit. I LOVE this - drink beer and enjoy some impromptu music on the porch - very, very cool! Overall, another great addition to Charlotte's beer scene.

Yelp
Super excited to check out Blue Blaze on Saturday after running errands! First off, major props to Blue Blaze for putting a brewery in West Charlotte. Breaking boundaries! The space was absolutely amazing! I loved the outdoor theme. The rocking chairs over looking greenery and the nice lofted space. Lots of tables, benches, chairs, etc to just chill. I also noticed that had instruments hanging on the wall inviting anyone to play for an impromptu jam sesh! For beer, they have 5 regulars and had 3 more that were new (additionally they had a few other local breweries on tap). We decided to get 2 flights so we could just try all 8 of their beers! I particularly liked the Black IPA and the October/Fall beer. They sell sandwiches from Rhino Market and also have a bunch of free snacks. Super kid and dog friendly. Nice job guys. Can't wait to return.

Sarah M.

Yelp
This was an awesome brewery! It stands out not only with its seasonal choices and the variety of beers it has but for customers there's a little wagon with popcorn and a make your own s'mores station-fire pits and all! They know how to win my heart over lol! The staff was very friendly and if you're reading this for the month of January 2019, every Saturday they are hiking (and anyone else is welcome) at the White Water Center at 10am! I suggest going- it was an awesome day starting at the center for the hike and ending it at the brewery leaving us wanting "s'more"! Hope to see you next Saturday!

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
Their is some much to like about this place! They have great beer, a cool atmosphere, friendly staff and a s'mores station. They even have guitars on the fall for people to play if they so desire which I have never seen before. They have a few of the typical board/ card games for people to play and enjoy while sipping on their beer. The place wasn't crowded for a Friday night like I think most of the breweries are and it is probably because of their location. It is not the most inviting neighborhood at night. Which is good for me because I didn't have to wait for the bartender to take my order. I would love to come back and enjoy more of their beer.

Kim L.

Yelp
Last night I attended Blue Blaze's soft opening for residents of neighboring communities. This was their "test" run, but overall they seem to be up and running! The event started at 7 and I got there around 7:45 to find that it was already packed! Many people had ridden their bikes there (so did I) and it seemed like people came and stayed for a beer or two. The name Blue Blaze comes from trail blazes in hiking, so the space has a slightly rustic, yet modern feel. Lots of wood, climbing ropes, and carabiners. The walls are outfitted with gorgeous photos of waterfalls and mountains printed on metal that give them almost a glowing look. The bar itself is reclaimed wood and they have many many taps behind it. The inside space has large picnic tables for bigger groups or meeting new friends as well as some smaller tables, bar seating, and bar window seating. There is also a small upstairs area with additional seating. Outside, the patio is reasonably sized with a variety of seating as well, including a long row of rocking chairs. Now what you've all been waiting for: the beer! The beer was very tasty. When I arrived to the event less than an hour after the start, I was disappointed to find out that they were already tapped out of their amber beer. However, that also speaks volumes to how good it must be (many people were talking about how good it was and that they wanted more), so I'm definitely excited to come back and try it. Since the amber wasn't an option, I started out with their black IPA, the Double Blaze. I found it complex and flavorful, but also light and easy drinking on a warmer evening. I followed that up with their flagship beer, the Blue Blaze, which was an alt-bier which was also very nice. The flights are also reasonably priced at $5 and include good-sized pours. The only real reason this review isn't 5 stars is because bar service was pretty slow because of the huge crowds. I do think this will improve once they are open for real. From what I could tell, they weren't fully set up in their cashier system yet. To make things easier on the bartenders (it was so busy!) I chose to pay in cash thinking this would be faster and simpler. However, with tax, my change came out with lots of coins which I'm sure wound up being a pain for the bartender anyway. One recommendation I would have for the management is to change the pricing to include tax (I believe other breweries in the area do this) so that the final price comes out even. Overall though, will DEFINITELY be going back! :)

Yelp
I've been here many times because this place is just that great, I first went there when I purchased a groupon and was able to try some great beer. Staff is super friendly and plenty of great beers to chose from, while you enjoy your beers you have a big selection of games to Play with friends and relax. Snacks are an option which is always my go to, one of the gems in Charlotte.

Yelp
FANTASTIC! They have a nice upstairs seating. The beer was good and lots of seasonals to chose from. We went on a Saturday when they had live music. There's a cute outdoor area and a variety of games to play. This is an underrated place in the Charlotte area. Highly suggest! Our bartender (Jennifer I believe) was just as great! She saw we were struggling with what to get and offered us samples. They also have a beer map of NC with all the breweries in the state. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
This place is easy to forget about as it is a little out of the way. But if you have never been or have forgotten about it like I had you should definitely give them a try. They have easy and plentiful parking which is getting harder and harder to find in Charlotte. They sometimes have food trucks but a few places also deliver to them including one of my new favorite places Toucan Louie's! I really love the the look and feel of the place. Maybe it is the stringed instruments that are there for you to play or the rocking chairs, but it has a very laid back mountain feel to it. So at this point you probably are wondering about the beer!!!! I think they have a solid line up of beers I really enjoyed my scotch ale and the bartenders actually know and love beer which you don't find everywhere! This is a great place to go to if you have out of town guests and you are looking for a place to hang out and talk in a relaxing environment.

Yelp
Awesome place! Easy to find parking. The whole inside is very pretty! We got a table by the window. My husband was happy with his beer and so was everyone else. They had popcorn to snack on as well as items to make smores. You can sit indoors and out. They have games for you to play as well. The staff was also very friendly!

Yelp
Been so fortunate as to know these guys and watch all their planning finally turn into a reality- congrats guys! Pretty sweet set up here. I will admit from the outside, and the general location of it, it really isn't much. When you come here, you are already making it a point to roll out. There really isn't much around other than a small neighborhood here in the outskirts of West Charlotte. This is literally the first time I've ever been on this side of town. But anyway, the building- ok, it's a warehouse- but has some absolutely fantastic décor and a cool lounge area. Much like a Sycamore. Add a sweet outdoor section and you got yourself a winner. Beer is absolutely fresh. The 5 Pillars are their beers on tap. I've tried the Amber and Black IPA. Both were very well balanced and impressive. Need to get back to try the other 3 out. So they also have a few other local brews on tap if you are too damn picky and don't want to go outside your comfort zone. You don't usually see breweries selling other local brew at their place. But let me tell you something, these guys are that legit. Supporting even their competitors! You won't be disappointed coming out here to the Blaze. You WILL find something you like and you WILL have a good time. Do yourself a favor and track down these guys Craig and Sven. Get a conversation in. They are AWESOME DUDES. Looking forward to this place becoming a bigger hotspot!

Yelp
I am lovin' this new brewery in Charlotte! I attended a soft opening today and I was extremely impressed with the friendly staff, the tasty brews, and the hiker community feel that it had. All the beers on tap are named after AT blazes and the pictures on the walls are all taken of spots off of the AT. You can actually check out the instruments from the bar wall to play, too - apparently jam bands are encouraged! :) If you're in the Charlotte, NC area - I highly suggest that you check it out!

Yelp
Such a cool place. I used to live in the neighborhood and could taken a 15 minute walk on the greenway to Blue Blaze once they opened. One of the few places where I genuinely enjoy every beer they offer! Definitely smaller than a lot of the breweries around, but what they lack in size, they make up for in character. The owner is usually milling around introducing himself and talking to customers, the bartenders will certainly stop off and have a conversation with you if they're not too busy, and they also have a few guitars and banjos for public use in case you want to incite a hoe-down! Since they are located on the greenway, they modified a bicycle so that they could make their kegs deliveries about town without pollution! Such a cool idea. Love this place. Still a hidden gem in the Charlotte beer scene, but they are beginning to can beers as well, so I think they will soon become a powerhouse!

Yelp
This might be one of my new favorite breweries. It's relatively small, but has a great vibe. They've managed to make you feel like you're in the mountains while you're sitting in Westside Charlotte. They made all the right choices from the rocking chairs in the patio to the bluegrass/folk music on the stereo. I had the Amber Blaze and the Double Blaze. Both very good, and very different. I don't typically like dark beers, but it was just the right amount of IPA to balance it out. My brother had the 'Merica IPA, it was closer to the IPA's I generally drink, and oh so good. Definitely stop by this new find!

Yelp
I first and foremost love the theme of this brewery. I love that they have a theme and don't just call themselves *insert neighborhood name here* brewery. Their outdoor, trailblazing theme is fitting for their location - almost every time I've been here it has been during/post bike ride. But they also host some cool events I've been to as well! Lists of great beers to choose from including both their year rounds and the seasonal. They also offer popcorn and s'mores for guests, and I love their outdoor rocking chairs and fire pit surround by tree stumps. Great atmosphere for friends to enjoy a brew.

Yelp
Doesn't it frustrate you when you frequent a place so much just to find out that you haven't said a gosh darn thing about it, not even once? Blue Blaze is my neighborhood spot. Some have Common Market, some have Laurel, and true, I have Rhino as well. But Blue Blaze is my haven. It is one mile away from my house down the greenway path; my reward for running one mile, and my punishment for running the second. It's a place I take all of my out of town friends to hang out on a sunny day and pick up an instrument and sing random Creed songs (yes, if you've heard two guys singing Arms Wide Open in here one day, it was me). It's a place I go to get food from their events with Fresh Med, or some snacks from their well stocked caddy. But above all, because it's a brewery, I go for their beer. I adore their Double Blaze, the black IPA that's taken 2nd place in my heart (if you must know, first place goes to Deep River Backcountry). Their flagship Blue Blaze is an excellent Alt as well, and they continue to come out with small batches that I love! Craig and his team continue to host more creative events and small festivals, and churn out more impressive brews. With the addition of trivia and yoga, and accessibility to the Greenway right there, I have high hopes for the future of Blue Blaze. Once Savona Mill gets around to being developed, it's going to explode - in the best way possible.

Yelp
Loved this place. Great beer and I really enjoyed feeling like I was on the trail again. The art in this place was breathtaking with local scenic photos of nature around NC. They have a decent sized patio which I believe is pet friendly. The drinks were affordable for any brewery in Charlotte. There was plenty of parking nearby or you can bike!

Yelp
Great new spot off the greenway! My fiance and I came in here the night before the grand opening to check it out before all the action hit the next day. There was a decent crowd already gathered. I love that they are open late!!! This will serve them well. I love the taproom space! It is well decorated with wood and outdoor pictures. I like the open layout and the upstairs extra seating. I also like the rocking chairs outside, but I wish they overlooked something a bit better than just a square of grass, but ya know. Staff was very friendly and welcoming! The beers were decent, but not my favorite in town. I liked the variety of styles and the fact they are trying out styles different than some of the other breweries around. I think the beers will get better with time. We will be back, but it is a bit out of town, so we may try to ride bikes and make a day of it. I wish I could get a flight of all the beers!

Yelp
Amazing brewery! We've been to a lot of breweries in CLT but this one by far is my fav now! The owner has amazing hospitality, they have checkers for games, outside benches for seating, and guitars on the wall that you can play! You should come here!
