Google
One of the best coffee places. They have excellent coffee with different kinds of milk and they are also open to mix your own combination of coffee and milk. There is not that much seating space inside, but you will find some place outside to sit. This place is best if you just like a coffee to go on the way to work or from the way back home.

Google
The coffee store I visited recently left a lasting impression on me with its exceptional cappuccinos. The quality of their cappuccinos stood out, making it a delightful experience for any coffee lover. The smooth and velvety texture of the steamed milk combined with the perfectly balanced espresso resulted in a heavenly cup of cappuccino. Apart from the exceptional cappuccinos, the ambiance of the store was inviting and cozy, creating a pleasant atmosphere for enjoying a cup of coffee. The staff was knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, adding to the overall positive experience. In addition to the outstanding cappuccinos, the store offered a diverse range of coffee options to cater to different tastes. The menu featured a variety of flavors and brew methods, ensuring there was something for everyone. Overall, this coffee store's dedication to crafting remarkable cappuccinos, combined with its cozy ambiance and knowledgeable staff, sets it apart from the rest. If you're a cappuccino enthusiast, this place is a must-visit.

My friend told me about Blue Bottle Coffee. We went to the one I believe at Berkeley, but decided not to get one since I’m not in a mood of coffee. Today, I decided to get one at Stanford Mall. The place is small, but looks nice inside. I heard that this place serves overpriced items and they quite do. I tried their foods, but the food items were quite smaller and lower qualities and seemingly costs higher than bigger ones I see in typical cafes. Cappuccino is alright, but found no reason to be more expensive. I guess that this place is a good if you want to simply stop by and get coffee, but I think there are other options around the mall where you can get the same qualities of the foods with cheaper prices.

Google
Had cafe latte cos I needed coffee and a seat. Sad that blue bottle is no longer good. Used to be my fav. Definitely don’t get the hand pour. The lady was sloshing the coffee grinds while she was pouring the water. Coffee was churning. At times the water sloshed onto the paper instead of the coffee. The other barista had difficulty pouring the milk into the cup. What’s going on here??

Google
My matcha latte was so delicious, and really strong. They also gave me a free sample of instant coffee! Lots of seating, and really friendly baristas.

Yummy 🤤 a bit dir but I think that's what they are going for. Coffee is super good and strong

Google
Smaller version of the Blue Bottle on University, but equally great coffee and liege waffles (yum!). The ambiance is clean and sleek, and the service is fast and nice. The avocado toast was also super fresh, a little more on the citric side, but the seeded toast itself was delicious. They also offer alternative milks like Oat (Oatly), almond and soy milks.

Google
As expected great coffee experience. Not a big place to chill out but it's reasonable place to sit, sip and enjoy a shot of espresso or cappuccino! Conveniently located right in front of the parking lot. Blue bottle never disappoints when it comes to the flavor and aroma of coffee.

Yelp
Solid espresso drinks served by skilled baristas in a small, clean, hip environment. It's the Stanford mall, so prices are higher than similar quality spots in the area. However, if you're at the mall and need a pick-me-up or a cafe workspace, it readily fills that need.

Yelp
This was my first visit to any Blue Bottle Coffee. Their location at Stanford Shopping Center is a bit "out of sight, out of mind" for my shopping habits. But I had slept terrible the night before a recent visit and made special consideration to visit a new place to fix me up for the rest of the afternoon. They are certainly not hurt by their location. It was 3 pm on a Saturday and the place was packed. I've never been quoted a 15 minute wait time for a coffee before. As others have pointed out, it was hard to figure out where to form the line or even stand so I wouldn't be in anyone's way while I took a gander at the drink menu. The long and narrow space is challenging for customer flow and looked just as challenging for the baristas. Not all the drinks had a description for a newbie like me. I asked a question about one of the drinks and the help was not quite enthusiastic, giving me the feeling that I just had to spit out something as my order. I went with the Winter Latte. This one did have a description of what made it "winter"-- juniper and pink peppercorn. The first sips, though, only tasted of oat milk. Eventually the peppercorns came through but I'm sorry to say the espresso and juniper didn't pack as much punch as I hoped. Return visits will hinge on if I can find a drink that's flavor and enjoyment factor match the price point and potential wait time.

Yelp
Stopped here after lunch for a quick coffee before shopping. The store is conveniently located on the perimeter of the Stanford Shopping Center. This was my first flawed Blue Bottle experience - the cashier could hardly be bothered to answer any of our questions and sighed at my friend who was confirming what was in the drink she ordered. They seemed to be out of cup sleeves and our drinks were piping hot, as well as most of their pastries by 3pm. The barista kindly offered us an extra cup for another layer. We both loved our drinks!

Yelp
Very slow wifi, slow to connect (during initial hotspot login) as well no charger in this shop, nice restroom though SSID: Blue Bottle Guest Wifi

Yelp
Went to Blue Bottle to do some work and unfortunately they did not have any outlets :( I feel like it should be a standard for cafes to have outlets available but that's just my opinion. I'm not a big coffee drinker but my friend wanted to go so I got a Matcha Latte but was a lil disappointed on how little they give you. They put so much ice in the drink that I feel like I got ripped off lol. However, they are known for their coffee so might have to get that next time around

Yelp
I like coffee shops that offer pour-overs. Unlike others, this place displayed the professional setting: a scale that measures the amount of coffee produced and the amount of time for each "pour". Since they did it behind a glass partition, I could see how the pour-over was done -- they did it with "high turbulent" flow. But they followed a methodology: soak, first pour, time it, second pour, etc. Of course, the coffee must match my preference. The "bella donovan" was just perfect. I was happy.

Yelp
Needed a little pick me up before I made my way to work that morning. I ordered a cappuccino and a blondie bar. The barista at the register was welcoming and promptly prepped my drink and handed me my pastry. It seems like the staff likes working here from what I saw. Both items really hit the spot and I did not have to wait long for my coffee. Great customer service. I will definitely return here. Thank you :)

Yelp
I've been to this particular coffee shop a number of times and I love their different pour over options as well as their Nola iced coffee with milk. I got a 16 ounce iced coffee Nola with oat milk and it was delicious as always!! I also appreciate the fact that they have a number of vegan and gluten-free pastries in their pastry case!! My service was really fast and barista that was helping me was very patient while I decided what I wanted to get. Everything was very clean and organized within the coffee shop itself! I will definitely be back!!

Yelp
A hidden in the corner of the standford plaza.it was a little tricky to find. The place was packed when I went on a weekend. The seating were filled outside and inside. The line system was confusing. There was no one direction where the line should be. Basically I went in and ordered my drink and just left and walked around having my drink. . The inside wasn't too much space for lining up. As well limited seating. It felt crowded in the corner shop. I think it would be nice for a slow day experience. . I ordered the spiced new Orleans small one and I wish I got the large one instead. It was so good it was finished in 10 mins. I ordered it with oatmilk and it was perfect. I love blue bottle anytime I am in the bay area. I can't wait for them to open one in Sacramento. . Overall I had a in and out experience. My drink was made fast. The line was quick. Just a little hard to find. The place was crowded. But with the nice shopping mall it made up for a good spot to sit and enjoy the coffee on the go. Thanks for reading. Hope this helps and follow me for more. .

Yelp
This coffee shop is located pretty far out from the rest of the stores. I had to walk in circles trying to find the place. It was almost closing time when I arrived, but there was still a lot of people inside and outside. The inside is cute and clean. I wasn't sure what to get, so I got an iced caffe latte with regular milk. The taste isn't bad, but there's nothing really special about it. It's also pretty expensive for what you get compare to other coffee shops. I do really like how simple the cup design is with the blue bottle logo.

Yelp
Came to this blue bottle for the first time and it was hidden in the corner of the mall right next to the construction. The inside was fairly big and looks like a good place to study! It was very clean and loved the architecture + layout inside. I asked the worker what drink to order and she recommended the seasonal fall Nola. It was quite good but since it was pretty hot it didn't feel right to drink in the summer lol.
google avatar

Yelp
I've come to this Blue Bottle location a couple of times to sit and work. It is super, super small and located at the Stanford Shopping Center, so it is always very busy. I don't come unless I happen to be in the area. The inside has just a few small tables. There are no outlets either. Blue Bottle overall has really great, unique drinks. It's on the pricey side, but I have always been satisfied with the drinks l've gotten. If you're looking for a Blue Bottle to sit and work, I would consider going to another location. However, to takeout a drink, it's perfectly fine.

Yelp
When you need a refreshing cup of coffee in the middle of a long shopping haul @ Stanford Shopping Center, Blue Bottle is the place to go! It's located on the perimeter and could be missed, so walk all the way down to the end. Their NOLA (New Orleans style coffee) is a must try....love, love, love it.
google avatar

Yelp
Fresh made fresh grind and dripped right in front of you coffee. Delicious, almost Ghirardelli taste. Not too sweet. Not too, tart. Fresh broth and not too hot. I asked for among milk and mocha latte. Made perfect. The espresso is not tart and very tasty. No sugar or sweeteners needed says a lot of how perfect this cup was. 1 size fits all. It's a small cup. But it does the job.

Yelp
My first time ever having Blue Bottle Coffee. Ordered an iced latte and a chocolate croissant. It is a little pricey but it is well known for their great coffee. Excellent service and very friendly staff. There's only two negatives. It's tough to find it as they are located near Fleming's. The other is that they have lack of seating. Would not recommend if you want to work on your computer. Still please with the coffee. Now I know where it is.

liz c.

Yelp
First off the gentleman at the register was sweet, but the baristas are super slow and i understand it's busy, but I waited 15 minutes for two coffees that had no flavor. They also seemed annoyed when I asked how long it will take and they took their time and didn't care at all! Please remind them to mindful To those that are on time limits. My latte has no flavor and Starbucks and Pete's are way better with service. I'm beyond frustrated and will never come here again
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
This Blue Bottle Coffee is my go-to location after my morning workout classes at Barry's and while they do get pretty busy, the staff are pretty good about keeping the line moving. One day I will try a different drink but my usual here is the NOLA and they do a great job. I love the spices they used and it just hits the spot. Seating is pretty limited here so it's hard to find a spot to do work but they do have some seating outside as well. Try the NOLA for your first time here!

Yelp
Blue Bottle Coffee never disappoints, and my experience with their mocha was no exception. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the warm aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans and a friendly atmosphere. The mocha was a delightful balance of rich, velvety chocolate and their signature, perfectly brewed espresso. It was clear that they use high-quality ingredients, and the attention to detail in the preparation was evident in every sip. The drink was not overly sweet, allowing the robust coffee flavor to shine through, while still providing a satisfying hint of chocolate. The service was friendly and efficient, and I appreciated the barista's expertise in crafting my mocha. The cozy ambiance and minimalist decor provided a peaceful setting to enjoy my coffee. Blue Bottle Coffee consistently delivers a premium coffee experience, and the mocha I had was a testament to their commitment to quality. If you're a coffee enthusiast, I highly recommend giving their mocha a try. It's a delicious treat that combines the best of both worlds - rich coffee and indulgent chocolate, all in one cup.

Yelp
UPDATED REVIEW: So after reading my review, the manager of Blue Bottle Coffee immediately reached out to me. They obviously care about customer satisfaction & so we would give this cafe another try when we are in Palo Alto. -------------------------------------------- We wanted to try something other than our usual coffee shops today, so we thought we'd give Blue Bottle Coffee a shot. I was a little apprehensive when I saw the low ratings, but I figured we'd judge for ourselves. It's a cute coffee shop but that's where the positive things ended for us. We were so disappointed with our iced cafe mochas. Nothing they served us justified the $7.25 price per cup. We couldn't taste the "ganache" in the coffee - it was all pretty flat - just a small iced coffee really with a very steep price tag. In fact I think with almond milk in one order & tip 2 small iced mochas came to a total of almost $17. It's simple economics - If customers feel they are being ripped off & are not getting good value for $, ratings will not be positive. We sadly will not be repeat customers.

Yelp
Super long line and slow service due to only 2 people working. Supplies like lids not replenished. Not enough tables to sit at. Limited menu and drinks are just okay at best.

Bo N.

Yelp
I liked the Iced Nola, it's neither too sweet nor too bitter. It was refreshing to drink while walking around the mall.
google avatar

Jerry X.

Yelp
Classic Blue Bottle experience situated in the Stanford Shopping Center. This store is definitely better situated for to go orders, given the limited indoor space but ample outdoor space. The baristas are all very knowledgeable and more than happy to help explain the differences in the various brews and beans, which is great for someone who is definitely not a coffee connoisseur. Worth a visit and a nice stop to help rejuvenate you to keep shopping!
google avatar

Tanya L.

Yelp
The service is really bad. The staff seemed bothered by customers. We paid for our coffee, but the barista disappeared without a word. He returned briefly to deliver part of our order and then vanished again. After a 15-minute wait, we asked about the rest of our order, only to be told that our transaction hadn't been completed, which they failed to mention initially. Despite this, we paid again and even left a tip, only to receive a poorly made cappuccino. Blue Bottle, you can do better.

Yelp
I've been to the Blue Bottle in Palo Alto on University Ave and loved the ambiance and the coffee so I was excited to check out the location at Stanford Shopping Center. Sadly, I was disappointed. I ordered the Sweet Latte with oat milk and could not taste the coffee at all! It just tasted like oat milk which was a bit disappointing with the $7.25 price tag. Also, if you are expecting lots of space like the University Ave location be warned that it's much smaller - there are maybe 3 tables inside and 2 small tables outside.

Nghi t.

Yelp
Great coffee and great location. I recommend for any coffee lovers. The line moved fast also.
google avatar

Judy P.

Yelp
Go first thing in the morning once they open. No line, and you don't have to wait long! I always order an iced hojicha latte with oatmilk. The baristas are friendly and they also have little treats for your furry children. Love going here when I can before work. A bonus is that there is plenty of parking at 7am
google avatar

Deysy L.

Yelp
They closed our Starbucks at Stanford Shopping Center. I was happy to stumble into Blue Bottle Coffee. The space is very clean and cold. Not a hello not a friendly smile not a welcome. The baristas complained that "you all want syrups and things we don't have" I always order a latte no sweetener. I was hesitant to even drink my coffee because the person making it seemed so bothered to be making it. Call me crazy but I like my coffee with at least a lil smile Or a thank you. I had the nerve to ask for a napkin and a lid and was pointed to the front of the store. I don't get it? I've been to other blue bottle locations and people are friendly and overall seem to enjoy making exquisite coffee but this place is not it. What a bummer cause it's the only coffee shop at our mall.
google avatar

Zamirbek M.

Yelp
Blue Bottle Coffee is a coffee lover's haven. The sleek, minimalist design and efficient service create a modern yet inviting atmosphere. The coffee, true to Blue Bottle's reputation, is exceptional--bold and flavorful. I appreciate the focus on quality and the use of freshly roasted beans. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. the only problem they have is that the seating area is modest, usually you don't find available seats. I came could of times to do some homework, but had to leave because there was not available seats.
google avatar

Vivian C.

Yelp
Get coffee here, don't get anything else. Nice tables here, but there are NO OUTLETS if you want to study here...well... you can't lol. This is why I am giving it 3 stars. It is pretty and crisp and modern with clean lines. But outlets are an absolute must this day and eage. Service is great. I got my iced drink in a paper cup even though I was drinking it here. I asked if they had any regular coffee mugs and they said yes and offered to make my drink in a regular cup. I should have taken him up on it but I didn't. Nice to offer me a regular cup. I guess they are trying to reduce their plastic usage. I gave them 5 stars for this barista but 3 stars for no outlets. Also their internet sucks. It took forever for yelp and other websites to load when I was on the Blue Bottle Guest Wifi. Single stall restroom. Its nice. I would come back but only for coffee and not for studying.
google avatar

Jasmyn F.

Yelp
The avocado toast is amazing, definitely the best avocado toast I've ever had. Literally *chef's kiss*. The cayenne pepper and lemon juice is wonderful. They use high quality bread as well. I forgot to take a picture before I ate the first half - lol it's that good and a MUST HAVE!
google avatar

Evelyn k.

Yelp
Great coffee , diff taste than Starbucks . A bit further to the back of the mall . Would try again
google avatar

Yelp
Convenient cafe for specialty coffee if you're shopping at Stanford. Most espresso drinks had some latte art which was a bonus and they offer full baguette sandwiches. Bathroom was very convenient but was also poorly maintained. Couple of the baristas were fairly young and seemed inexperienced. Prices are fairly high. In total honesty, in terms of the coffee itself and unrelated to the actual employees, you'll get much better quality for the same price range at other specialty shops in the area.
google avatar

Hien P.

Yelp
At Blue Bottle Coffee, nestled at 660 Stanford Shopping Center #650B, Palo Alto, CA 94304, ample parking sets the stage for your coffee journey. While the brew didn't transcend expectations on the first visit, the experience was marked by a satisfying cup, even if it didn't break new grounds. The pricing, albeit slightly higher than competitors, is justified by a welcoming ambiance and exceptionally friendly customer service. In the midst of ongoing construction in the area, this becomes the go-to spot, promising a reliable coffee haven until new options emerge.
google avatar

Alyssa N.

Yelp
No matter what time of the day you get coffee there's always a long line and about a 20 minute wait to get your drink. I feel like everyone who goes to this location knows this already. Solid coffee and good service.
google avatar

Alex F.

Yelp
Waited 10 minutes for a drip coffee when business was slow.. the lady didn't even fill up my coffee all the way up after not only paying a premium for the coffee but waited longer than needed too. Coffee tasted good at least lol
google avatar

Sherry F.

Yelp
Overall liked my drink - sweet latte with almond milk. I appreciate that I could enjoy the taste of the espresso without the sweetness overpowering it. This place could work on the name calling system or distinguishing drinks because during busy times, people could mistakenly take a drink since there are no labels (witnessed it happen).

B C.

Yelp
I got a drip coffee today, it does not taste the same as before. Recently the quality seems to have dipped big time. When it just opened , everything was great. It is not the same anymore. The roast is off. I suppose the Nestle takeover has had its inevitable impact on quality. Too bad.

Nicole K.

Yelp
This update is long overdue but management sent us a gift card to make it up to us and it was

Yelp
The Stanford Blue Bottle consistently provides exceptional coffee & lattes. I remember when this place newly opened and I had only heard of the name. I went in and mentioned I didn't know what I wanted and the gal at the register gave me the spiel of their coffee. She recommended the New Orleans Iced Coffee once I had asked about wanting a normal iced coffee with almond milk. She even provided me with a "your next drink is on us" card which definitely brought me back. I now always order a Matcha or Hojicha Iced Latte with Oat Milk with 1-2 pumps of sweetener and it always hits the spot. The service is always friendly; early morning and even late afternoons when they're swamped. I'm quite curious to know why the Santana Row location can't be at this level.
google avatar

Heying D.

Yelp
This cafe is located at the very end of the Stanford shopping mall. I had a latte which was pretty overpriced for what it was, but it tasted good. Even though I was sitting down, I got served in a paper cup. I think I prefer to be asked whether I want it to go to be more environmental friendly. The seating area is small and very narrow, so you're basically sitting back to back with other people. Not very inviting. When I left and wanted to throw my cup in the trash, I was yelled at to dispose of the cup outside in the public trash... Interesting. Won't come back here I guess.
google avatar

Raynard L.

Yelp
Love the ambiance of the place high ceiling. Nice service, I got the seasonal matcha which I think was watered down. I know I like thier coffee but my seasonal matcha drink didn't turn out the way I hoped it would be.
google avatar

Timothy I.

Yelp
Not the cafe experience you're used to Quality: 4 Value: 3 Service: 2 Ambience: 1 This place is severely understaffed. They had three people working - that meant one person trying desperately to handle the huge crowd of customers, and only two baristas to pull the shots, mix the drinks, and manage the pourovers. It took 15 minutes to get one espresso shot. Additionally, the inside is in serious need of a deep clean. The coffee quality was still good, but it was not as good as other BB locations. For some reason, the espresso shot they pulled was short, and then they added a tablespoon of boiling water - very weird and not what I asked for.
google avatar

Celine L.

Yelp
Coffee here is 3 stars but the service was what made me bump it. It's a clean minimalist designed cafe. I tried the famous New Orleans Chicory Iced Coffee. It's a pretty strong dark roast and they are careful to not over sweeten it but I still added more simple syrup. I like the options for alternative milk and the barista was very friendly and super knowledgeable. Not the best coffee in the world as it was a bit too bitter for my taste and wasn't all too creamy. My boyfriend ordered the hot chocolate which was an incredible rich dark cocoa. Omg this is worth it. Perfect for a cold day in Palo Alto! The ham and cheese sandwich we got in the evening was hard and cold. We were warned though it's meant to be warmed for breakfast and they don't warm it after a certain time. I say stick to the drinks here.
google avatar

Giselle M.

Yelp
Always a fan of Blue Bottle, I've gone to all the SF locations, Oakland, Palo Alto and even a couple in NYC over the years. Sad to say this one was disappointing. We ordered the Avocado Toast, one of their little vegan cakes and an oat latte to go. Got the latte within 5 min, but food items ended up taking over 20-25 min because they were so unorganized. I asked about our Avo Toast and cake twice. The 3 people working kept switching who was making coffee, who was prepping food and who was at the register, so all of a sudden the girl that said she was making my Avo Toast never finished and moved to the register. I noticed that several customers that ordered after me got their food before me, so I had to ask them again. At that point, they said they ran out of the avocado topping so one of the employees grabbed a few whole avocados from a cabinet and began slicing them. They pretty much just threw some bruised slices of avocado (seriously some parts were straight up gray!) on top of semi-burnt toast, added a quick sprinkle of their seasoning and handed it to me. It looked nothing like the nice Avo Toasts I saw them serve to the people before me. If you're going to charge $9, maybe try and make it look better than what my 4-yr-old niece could do! Also, no apology for them forgetting about my food or thanking me for the extra long wait... On the positive side, the cafe is gorgeous with clean, modern lines and lots of natural light shining in from the skylights at the top of these sculpted/vaulted walls and ceilings. Hopefully the service will improve to match the flawless aesthetics and architecture.

Yelp
3 stars with reservations for this location only In general, Blue Bottle is one of my favorite coffee places. The attention to each cup and having the organic milk or cream is great. My favorite location is the one in Hayes Valley SF. Haus Haus who serves Blue Bottle in Palo Alto is also quite good for customer service and the coffee quality. I was excited to see a location closer to my home open but alas the service was barely friendly - our cashier had almost no eye contact, no smile. The energy among the staff seems muted on a lower traffic Saturday afternoon. That said - the wait for our order - a decaf mocha took a while which surprised me as there didn't appear to be many people waiting before us. Our drink was barely warm but the flavor was good - not too sweet. Side note - Bathroom is sorta of dark and during our visit -not well maintained. I won't disclose more but almost walked out without using it. There is limited seating inside and a bit outside in front. In general, the Stanford Center has lots of public seating so you could easily take your drink and sit nearby in sun or shade. I do wish they would add some gluten free options for bakery items.

Yelp
Over priced coffee but it is tasty. They have a lot of milk options. The NOLA is tasty! The chocolate one is good but too much for me. The brown butter cookie seems to be popular. Definitely worth a try.
google avatar

Katherine S.

Yelp
Expensive? Yes. Worth it? 100%. I'm gonna say it outright: I'm a Blue Bottle fangirl. I love their coffees, their branding, and their food. This location, while not the trendiest or coolest, is way better than any other coffee shop you see in a shopping mall. Recommended drinks: New Orleans Iced Coffee Sweet Latte Recommended Food: Blondie Overnight Oats

Yelp
Get the tea latte (matcha latte/hojicha latte) only if you like tea! They are not sweet (not a bad thing! if you like tea, you will enjoy them). A little pricy but that's what you get living in the bay area; not many indoor seatings so would not recommend aiming to do work here
