If you want a place to sit and work and prep for that VC pitch, this is a nice spot with the vibes of all that have previously treaded the path you want to be on. Tech hustlers routinely hangout at this spot in a beautiful Spanish-style old school build with low ceilings and cavernous interiors. This used to be a Borders bookstore with plenty of nooks and a nice veranda with places to sit and work and have a leisurely conversation. The coffee is fresh brewed every cup and it is super rich in flavor, served by pleasant staff clearly sourced from the nearby Stanford.

Google
Standard Blue Bottle menu. It can get busy even during the week. I waited 20 minutes for a simple cappuccino. The tables had not been cleaned in a while thus the 3 star rating on atmosphere. Seating available inside and outside.

Sarah Touchstone

Google
Inside the old Varsity Theatre (which I loved going to back in the 1980’s). Comfortable seating and it’s a very minimal space. Service is knowledgeable and friendly. I ordered the specialty hot coffee, Yuzu Lavender Cappuccino. I adore Yuzu and love it in Japanese dishes… and some fancy pastry. While the presentation was lovely, I prefer traditional hazelnut or almond for flavored cappuccino.

Google
The place looks really chic. It has such a nice patio with a number of tables, and the interior is just super posh. The queue was long and the service was okay. The iced matcha latte was not as good as- pretty watery and they just poured it from a pre-mixed bottle. I wouldn’t recommend ordering matcha there

Google
This Blue Bottle location is by far the prettiest one I’ve visited, with plenty of outdoor seating that makes it perfect for enjoying a coffee on a sunny day. I always go for their delicious iced mocha as it’s smooth, rich, and just the right amount of sweet. I also really appreciate their great alternative milk options, especially that oat milk is the default, which makes ordering super easy for non-dairy drinkers. Between the beautiful setting, consistently great coffee, exceptionally friendly staff, and thoughtful menu, this spot is always worth a visit.

Google
solid three star establishment during my visit. the outdoor seating area is great. the service was mid. the natural Brazilian pour over was mid. the atmosphere was mid. the building is cool, but the seating arrangements and furniture feel like an afterthought. most of the indoor space isn't even being used for whatever reason. looks like it's been that way for at least the past 5 months according to other Google Maps pictures. the wifi was so slow that I couldn't work remote efficiently (0.2 down / 3.4 up).

Google
Blue Bottle serves really good coffee smooth, fresh, and a great spot to grab a quality cup!

Google
Had an avocado toast and Nola cold coffee. The service was ok. They didn't bother calling my name once my order was ready. Nola cold coffee was just ok.

Yelp
I usually have my regular Blue Bottle spots I go to, so I'm pretty used to their vibe. But the other day I happened to be near Palo Alto and just popped into this location--and wow, the place totally shocked me with how beautiful and chill it was! It's tucked away in a quiet courtyard, with sunlight streaming in and comfy wooden tables. The whole vibe was super relaxing. Compared to the spots I normally go to, this one felt quieter and more special--like discovering a little hidden gem in the city. I ordered their New Orleans iced coffee, and I seriously recommend it. It looks simple and straightforward, nothing flashy, but it's surprisingly deep in flavor. The cold brew has that unique hint of chicory, combined with smooth milk and just the right amount of sweetness. It's rich, balanced, and leaves you feeling really satisfied. The barista also suggested trying it with oat milk, which made it even smoother and added some nice layers to the flavor. It really feels like a carefully crafted drink--simple but really interesting. Even though this isn't my usual Blue Bottle, this visit totally opened my eyes. With such a beautiful environment and comfy atmosphere, I'll definitely stop by here anytime I'm nearby to relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee. For me, Blue Bottle isn't just about coffee--it's a little ritual in life. This place gave me a special feeling of comfort and quality. If you haven't tried the New Orleans yet, I highly recommend it--it's simple but full of flavor!

Yelp
LOVE the decor and structure of this location! Lots of seating and doesn't feel tight or cramped Staff was super nice and gave good recommendations Outdoor seating area is so cute Iced NOLA was strong and creamy Didn't love the lavender Yuzu latte Everything seasoning pull apart croissant was incredible highly recommend

Yelp
I was in Santana Row in really craving a Affogato, thankfully blue bottle in Santana row serves them. The ice cream is super rich and creamy and with the expresso on Top it becomes an amazing dessert. Line was long when ordering but the drink came out super quick. Staff was also very friendly and chatty! The vibe was great because I was able to walk over the the wine bar and have it there.

Yelp
I was with my brother and his family shopping around the area and he was craving for some coffee. I have been to blue bottle before in both The Ferry Building and in Santana Row. This time, I decided to try their Iced Cherry Blossom Latte. Iced Cherry Blossom Latte: This was a rather delicious drink. Besides being a typical latte, the berry notes were refreshing and gave it that flavor profile of sweetness. The "pink petals" reminded me a bit of the Japanese cherry blossom petals falling from the sky. Overall, I enjoyed the drink and look forward to trying more stuff from them

Yelp
I've gone here a couple times as it was right next to work when my coworkers wanted to go. This location is in such a nice space with seating to work or hang out. I've always gone in the morning when it's been pretty busy, but the workers are always working hard and are very nice. Sometimes drinks can take a bit of time if you don't order ahead, but that's to be expected at a busy coffee shop! I've gotten the matcha each time I've gone, and it is always enjoyable.
google avatar

Lillian V.

Yelp
Great location for a solid coffee and great vibes! Food: solid sweet baked goods, but I'd recommend you go elsewhere for baked items. Drinks are always solid and the coffee is good quality Service: average wait time, but typically runs a bit slower since it gets busy Ambiance: spacious and super cute! A little noisy bc it gets busy but overall really great! Grab a seat asap bc the place gets filled in minutes. Right now there's some remodeling inside so there's less seating, and limited outlets :( Parking: lots of available street parking or nearby free parking lots
google avatar

Yelp
Best location beautiful place great coffee but seriously when are they expanding the bar it takes like 20 minutes to get your drink sometimes
google avatar

Yelp
I had the Winter Espresso. Well dialed in and pulled espresso with clear layers. The top crema was bitter followed by sweeter notes of chocolate/toffee as described. First time at blue bottle and I'll definitely come back to try other seasonal espressos.

Yelp
This place is legit, b-legit would find this place to be of quality.i would personally put them above the Starbucks. They were surprisingly faster than expected too. I'd return in the future!
google avatar

Angel L.

Yelp
It's so gorgeous in there! The yuzu lemon fizz was so refreshing and tangy. Lots of seating.

Yelp
I came with a few coworkers for an afternoon pick me up. I ordered a 12 oz Iced Nola ($5.75) and really enjoyed it. It's kinda pricey for what you get, but is expected for Palo Alto. For the same price I can get a Venti (20 oz) at Starbucks. I won't be coming here daily, but will go every now and then to switch up my coffee rotation. I ordered my drink to-go so I can't speak to the ambiance. There is a workspace room inside and every table was occupied by folks with laptops. I walked here, but there is plenty of street parking and a lot behind the building.
google avatar

Jean T.

Yelp
Came here for a morning pick me up on Thursday around 9AM. I love the Blue Bottle Iced Nola. It is pricey though at $6.75 for a 16oz. This location is beautiful and has plenty of work areas. They have plenty of pastries behind the counter. ~~Parking: It's conveniently located on University Ave which is walking distance from many offices. There is plenty of street parking and free parking lots. ~~Service: Slow as there is only 2 people working and one is responsible for mobile orders. ~~Return: Yes

Yelp
This Blue Bottle location is tucked into a beautiful courtyard off the main street of downtown Palo Alto near Stanford University. The baristas were super friendly and patient with explaining the drink options, and the place was very clean and nicely decorated. I ordered the Sweet Latte with oak milk and was very happy with my choice. Would definitely come here again!
google avatar

Caroline L.

Yelp
Good quality coffee. This location also is also not too loud and the music isn't blasting so it's the perfect place to study or get some work done. The windows make the lighting perfect for getting work done too. The workers are also super nice and give great recommendations to what you may prefer.
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
This is always a great spot to grab a drink and hang out. They have great outdoor and indoor seating, good quality coffee and matcha.

Yelp
I enjoyed the seasonal cherry blossom latte. Sad to see the open space lays empty. I see it's you're popular in the area.

Yelp
Another day, another Blue Bottle treat...or a few! We recently stayed around the corner in Palo Alto. I loved Blue Bottle before it was purchased, and they've maintained the quality and flavor, so a Blue Bottle latte to start the morning?! Yes please! They were busy (and I think they often are being in the heart of downtown Palo Alto), so be prepared to wait a minute, or order ahead on mobile. For me, it was worth the wait. Smooth, easy to drink latte. I got whole milk but they offer dairy and non-dairy options. We proceeded to run around Stanford's campus and up/around The Dish (IYKYK), and then stopped at Blue Bottle again for a recovery snack: overnight oats and chia pudding, both tasty and satisfying. They also offer a variety of bakery items that looked delicious. Since we don't have a Blue Bottle near us, I had to buy a bag of espresso beans to take home too. I love the architecture of this historic building. There's plenty of seating inside and outside if you want to enjoy your treats there. Also attached is Hana Haus, a coworking space that can be booked by the hour.
google avatar

Austin Z.

Yelp
A few blocks down University lies Blue Bottle... where they share a space with the Hanahaus. I've been to this location a couple of times and it feels quite homey as I love their architecture. I usually go for their pastries and cold brew but this time around, i wanted to try something a little different when it came to drinks. I had the 16oz iced Nola and the butter croissant... needless to say I was quite impressed with the fact that their butter croissant was buttery and fluffy (not too hard even after it started getting a little bit cold). The iced Nola was not watery at all, and I was able to feel the espresso even after the ice melted and all that. The only thing I have in terms of service and atmosphere was the fact that they kinda rushed the process of my order, which I didn't really appreciate. It's often full in the afternoon, and there's not really a lot of places to charge your laptop if you need to work on stuff at the coffee shop, hence the reason why the minus one star. But I would come again.

Yelp
Beautiful coffee shop located in an adorable plaza of its own. I feel like the interior gives me Mediterranean / Moroccan vibes. Ordered a plain latte with the help of the friendly barista and it came out within 10minutes. I really enjoyed it! Coffee beans from Blue Bottle are generally are not as strong as I'd like but they still give me the caffeine I need for the day. Highly recommend!
google avatar

rowena n.

Yelp
Fast service, clean and smooth good tasting coffee. Barista knew their drinks and offered some suggestions since this was our first time e there. They also offered an assortment of baked goods and drinks. Should be noted that Apple Maps does not show location properly - we walked around aimlessly trying to find the place using maps.
google avatar

Yagmur A.

Yelp
This is a perfect coffee spot to get your order and enjoy the ambiance while you're waiting for your coffee. I especially love their ice latte it tastes so good delicious. Also you should try everything pull apart croissant it's so good
google avatar

Iryna N.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite coffee place. I love to order cappuccino with oat milk and avocado Toast
google avatar

Thuy N.

Yelp
Very nice location in the middle of Downtown Palo Alto. Upon entry you walk through a patio where there's plenty of seating to enjoy your drink outdoors. NOLA was my choice of drink when I visited this location. There is a bit of a wait for ordering but drinks come out quick. I would definitely pay another visit to enjoy the outdoor patio with a book.
google avatar

Ash R.

Yelp
The ambiance is super nice at this coffee shop. It's like a Spanish Pueblo setting with a workspace inside. The matcha latte is generally refreshing, but also nothing super memorable. It is a reliable drink that you can easily grab and go. Would return for a quick coffee drink.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
I ordered the hot mocha cafe, they have a good menu of coffee choices, roughly 10-20 different kinds. It was busy for a Wednesday afternoon, there were a ton of people grabbing and going. It's currently next to construction so it's pretty loud and felt small. The service was fairly average since it was so busy. I got the mocha cafe with almond milk, it wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be but they have sugar on the side for adjustments. I kept it as is. They have a design on the top of the drinks but I had a Togo cup covering it. Overall, pretty solid coffee spot.
google avatar

Kate A.

Yelp
I've heard so much about Blue bottle Coffee chain, but managed to try only today. The staff is super friendly, they helped to make my choice and explained a few options in the menu. I ordered the cold brew with milk. The prices are a bit higher than the same drinks at Starbucks or Peet's. The location is beautiful: it's spacious, there are tables and chairs inside and outside. There is even the fountain within this space. Love it! You can come with friends or for a date, or even for work if you need. The only downside for me is that I came 15 minutes before the closing and couldn't get espresso. But at the same time I didn't have to wait in the line:) So I will definitely come back to try espresso to get the full experience with the coffee.

Yelp
This is the fanciest Blue Bottle I've ever seen! Located in downtown Palo Alto, Blue Bottle Coffee occupies part of the main floor of the Varsity Theater. I tried their iced hojicha latte and it was deliciously refreshing and low in caffeine. It's slightly sweetened and something I would order again for a mid day pick me up. They also carry pastries from a nearby bakery, The Midwife and the Baker! I tried the walnut sticky bun and it was super indulgent and worth the cavity it probably gave me. The layers are dense yet flakey. Items from TMATB are labeled in the display case. This location is a pretty busy one with a constant line, but it moves at a fair pace. It did take quite awhile for my drink to be ready. There were about three baristas making drinks and pushing out orders behind the bar. The non-operative theater has been reimagined as a workspace with Blue Bottle and HanaHaus, both sharing the property. The vintage marquee board on University Ave is hard to miss, and once you enter the area, you walk through a beautiful outdoor venue with a water fountain, old movie posters, and string lights above. There are plenty of seats and tables both indoors and outdoors.
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
Gorgeous venue connected to a shared working space. A renovated theater, this is such a groovy spot to hang out in. Coffee is expensive but very high quality.
google avatar

Megan Y.

Yelp
Solid coffee, solid ambience, Palo Alto prices. Blue bottle has always been a staple for getting our coffee beans and you can usually find fresher packs here than in local groceries. Lots of families coming and going, and there's a workspace next door.
google avatar

Ana M.

Yelp
Such a beautiful coffee spot! The vintage atmosphere is just delightful. The service was amazing, the cashier that took my order was so nice and friendly. The sandwich I got was so delicious! Definitely recommend this place !
google avatar

John V.

Yelp
Went here to grab a morning coffee and bring back a bag of beans. Ended up getting the iced "Nola" coffee at the employees recommendation for an iced drink. Liked the flavor of it, probably could've done 1-2 more espresso shots for myself personally. Can't go wrong with blue bottle.
google avatar

Cindy Q.

Yelp
Cute place, mid coffee/tea. Lots of seating, but also usually pretty packed. The fizz was basically sparkling water and lemonade (not worth). And the matcha was just matcha. Honestly, too expensive for what it was. They did have simple syrup on the side which was nice. Felt more like a brand than a coffee place.
google avatar

Chris J.

Yelp
I decided to give Blue Bottle another shot, despite my previous experience of finding the staff to be quite snooty. The employees seem to know very little about coffee, yet they act like they're working at some sort of "Apple Store" for coffee. When I walked in, I was unsure where to place my order because there was a group of people just waiting around. I politely asked the girl behind the counter, who was busy with something, "Excuse me, is this where we order?" She immediately snapped at me, saying, "Give me a minute!" I quickly apologized, explaining that I didn't mean to cause any trouble and was simply unsure where to order. She repeated, "Well, give me a minute." I mentioned this experience to another staff member, expressing that I felt I was treated rudely. He responded, "Well, I was right there, and she was very nice," which made it clear that the staff seem to stick together. I left immediately, and I'm sure they were happy about that. No thanks. Avoid this place. There are much better coffee options elsewhere.
google avatar

Thrisha S.

Yelp
I would say it is just ok. For paying around $7-8 for a coffee, I would definitely expect more because the sizes are so small too. The work space is always full so getting a spot to work is always a hit or miss . There are very little outlets. I tried both their matcha and coffee and I wasn't the biggest fan. But the Palo Alto blue bottle location is very pretty so , it's def a good place to come and have a coffee chat!
google avatar

Alicia E.

Yelp
Cons: I order through the app frequently and, unfortunately, now feel the need to write this review since it seems the quality has declined recently. The drinks are usually watery in flavor and the milk is burnt. Often the cup is not filled all the way (the top two inches of my chai latte were burnt oat milk foam). I've ordered some food items but sometimes they are not presented the same way as advertised (eg, the PBJ toast used some kind of apple butter instead of strawberry jelly, but I was not informed of this after ordering). Pros: They are very speedy in their service and the pickup time (estimated on the app) is usually correct. The staff are friendly. Some of their baked goods are tasty. The university location has a beautiful exterior that is good for chatting and relaxing. Overall, I would expect mediocre drinks, decent food, and good ambience from this location.
google avatar

Neets W.

Yelp
This Blue Bottle Coffee location is the most beautiful coffee shop I've ever visited. It has a classy, elegant, vintage vibe. The coffee is great, and the service was excellent!
google avatar

Carlson T.

Yelp
This was OK coffee at most. Coffee at the most convenient place on the small strip. Great place to study and work because it's in the center of everything.
google avatar

jas k.

Yelp
We stopped her me to grab a coffee and tried the Sweet Latte and requested for it to be made extra hot. The staff is friendly and we liked the ambiance of the coffee shop as it's located inside the building that used to be a book store. Anyhow, Sweet Latte was fantastic, really hot and frothy. Would definitely recommend to get your cup of java here!
google avatar

Karen C.

Yelp
Just glad they're back. Beautiful space, sunny seating area, and love their New Orleans iced coffee.
google avatar

Serena T.

Yelp
Soooooooo cool here this is literally one of the best coffee shop location. I really wish they were open later! The best part about this location is the shared workspace next door.
google avatar

Tim K.

Yelp
Overpriced Desperately understaffed And therefore incredibly SLOW Oh whoops they lost my order. It took 30 minutes for a freaking coffee order! Oh and now their Wi-Fi doesn't work. I'm not coming back

Andrew B.

Yelp
Line is way too long. There is 30 people in line and one person taking orders. Does anyone here care about service? Seems like no?
google avatar

A.M. C.

Yelp
Great location, ok coffee, fluctuating hours. This location is connected to HanaHaus. After a certain hour, you can't order via the mobile app and must order in person - which is a bit annoying if you're in a meeting in HanaHaus or working. The pick-up for HanaHaus customers is no longer on the coworking side so you have to go to the front counter. High turnover of staff. And not the best customer service, unfortunately. And sometimes this location closes early, which is announced via signage on the back door. As a note, there's a Joe & the Juice across the street and a Starbucks & Verve a few blocks down University. It just depends on how much time you have.
google avatar

Stella L.

Yelp
Love this shared place. Architecture is amazing vibes like in LA different from other blue bottle locations. It is little crowded since it's a shared work space, hard to find a sit other then that it's great. Located right next to sishiritto.
google avatar

Ria C.

Yelp
Cool place for coffee and snacks. Plenty of tables and workspace you can rent. Dogs welcome on the patio
google avatar

Nina V.

Yelp
Some construction going on, so not much place to sit. But a good grab and go; coffee is delicious. Staff r also very fast in their service.
google avatar

Karishma K.

Yelp
Blue bottle has always been a staple in the Bay Area but I only tried it a couple months ago. I had some wifi issues and I knew they had good seating so I drove on over here. It was cold so we opted to sit inside. They have pretty good wifi and also the option to work at HanaHaus. I ordered a mocha and it actually changed my life. It was smooth, delicious, and tasted like melted dark chocolate in a cup. I haven't tried the other drinks but have heard people rave about the New Orleans! You can't go wrong at Blue Bottle. Come for the drinks, stay for the work atmosphere :)
google avatar

Amica J.

Yelp
Came here on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Quaint place (indoor & outdoor seating with fountain available!) to get some mild work done. It's located in an old theatre, unlike the modern buildings of other blue bottles I've been too. Wi-Fi speed is quick, there is a co-working space inside the shop. Didn't see any outlets outside but there might be indoors. Ambiance is really nice and relaxing. Families, students working, coffee meetups. Parking downtown Palo Alto can get tricky, but on a Sunday there were plenty of options. We didn't have a hard time finding one with good walking distance. Service is slow (sorry!) line was out but they forgot one of our orders. The kitchen was closed so sandwiches weren't available. Lines can also creep out depending on time of day. Despite this, I would return. Love the area and over vibe of the cafe.

Yelp
It goes to show location only goes so far. 5 years ago, I used to tell everybody to meet me at Blue Bottle coffee. Not anymore.. The last few times I've been here, it has been a disappointment to say the least. Namely, very poorly, executed drinks and baristas who just don't care. Let's be honest, it is great place to hang out and look at all the fun people. The pastries, particularly croissants, are like chewing on dried leaves, rolled in butter. Yummy! You'd be advised to bring your own coffee for a meeting here, or order a prepared coffee drink, ones in the milk carton. Final thoughts: over priced, bad service, terrible baristas.. please go out of business. Because you have in so many ways.
