Reliable quality of coffee drinks and friendly baristas, despite a seemingly high turnover. I find myself wandering over here when I'm too lazy or busy with work to do my home grinds and pour overs (okay, and for their famous Liege Waffles and occasionally for their rich, creamy Avo Toast).
I love this location in particular, as it is literally one block from my doorstep, and my dog appreciates the attention and pets she gets from consistently high volumes of customers here and treats from a large glass cookie jar by the front door. Not to mention, the store is kept very clean and great for some admin work (less ideal for taking meetings or work calls, even with the outdoor seating area by the sidewalk as there is a Muni bus stop right there and it is LOUD).
I recommend trying any Blue Bottle seasonal specials, my new jam is the HOT Nola with Oat Milk and the Spiced Nola (both Iced and Hot are fantastic, depending what you fancy and the weather). I love that Blue Bottles across the board don't charge extra for dairy alternatives, though the pricier coffee perhaps covers it (about $6-8 a cup, depending on the drink and if there is a size variation).
If you're not into lattes and specialty drinks, the pour overs are always a solid choice too (I just order what blend is there default or a Burundi, if available). If coffee isn't your thing, there are milks and drinks sold in bottles and cartons at the counter along with some cold brekkie foods like chia seed pudding and overnight oats. I highly recommend their Hojicha Latte (with Oat Milk), which is very mild (I low-key wish the tea were stronger than the milk).
