"For at least a few days after Christmas, nothing seemed out of the ordinary at Blue C Sushi, the popular conveyor-belt sushi chain in Seattle and Southern California..." - Zachary Kamel

Inside the Closure of Blue C Sushi: Huge Debts and Mismanagement - Eater Seattle

"Seattle-based sushi chain Blue C Sushi looks to be out of business today, with all staff receiving an email over the weekend announcing the closure of all locations. The announcement of the closure — and by extension, that all employees would be terminated — was sent out by email to every Blue C Sushi employee Sunday evening by a representative of Madison Holdings, Inc., the company that owns Blue C. In a copy of the email sent to Eater, “unexpected financial and other circumstances” were cited as the reason. Almost all employees were terminated effective Sunday (January 6), with a caveat that some might be called in this week to help with final clean-ups. Over 15 years in business, Blue C Sushi and its conveyor belt-driven operation grew to seven locations — five in Seattle and suburbs, and two in the Los Angeles area." - Tim Forster

Good place for kids. If you order anything other than what is on the conveyor belt expect to wait a long time. If you are a regular ask for a loyalty stamp card and you can save 10%.

It's conveyor belt sushi... you don't go for Michelin star quality or you're an idiot. That said, I was impressed... rice was fresh and not gummy, fish was very good quality and everything we are tasted excellent. I would definitely go back with friends as it's a fun experience and moderately priced

Went for dinner from BC Canada last week, shock by its quality of the food and price. $3 for 2 pieces cookies on a conveyor belt? Why cookies? I don't expect teriyaki chicken don would be a cold dish; not sure if that is fusion but it was not my liking. Sushi are not fresh and very limited amount of sushi varieties; ridiculously great selection of cookies though. Tempura udon with only 1 shrimp? I will never go to this place again. Not to mention their sticky floor and table. I am not sure if any other sushi / Japanese place nearby but Clue C is definitely a no go. I would rate less than 1 star if possible.

I've been here a few times and during different parts of the evening. The one server, blonde with glasses, has never been friendly. The atmosphere is very dull and depressing. This place should be popular for its location, but it's dead. The servers should be a bit more up beat. I understand customer service can be tough, but you shouldn't take it out on your customers. Smile. Be friendly. Not downright ignore people.

It's actually pretty good. Very fresh. Great service. Pricey is a little high for conveyor belt sushi, but I think the overall quality of the food makes up for the price.

EDIT: They've recently changed their menu to be more expensive and less focused on the conveyer belt. It's slow and not worth it at all anymore. If you're looking for legitimate, non-americanized sushi, this is not the restaurant for you. But if you're a fan of california rolls, a good selection of vegetarian rolls, and a fun atmosphere, this restaurant is great! Everything is well labeled (I could take my boyfriend with a shellfish allergy here without worry) and it's great to be able to sit down and eat immediately on those hungry days. The price range is incredibly large depending on what you like - vegetarians will find this place a great value, if you're looking for shrimp not so much.

4 stars for happy hour prices. If I ever went after it would be 3 stars but $3 for anything from 4-6 means I can eat snow crab and eel to my heart's content. They have some amusingly goofball rolls, like the one with a jalapeño popper inside. We had a favorite server but he moved to the Bellevue location so now we pretty much sit at the bar.

Came in for lunch last week, it was us and one other couple in the joint with 3 waitress gossiping and drinking Starbucks up front. They forgot to place two of our orders, and when asked multiple times were the food was they said they were waiting on the chefs... who were literally right in front of us doing nothing. I will never go to the establishment again. Don't waste you're time, the sushi is Safeway quality while at $$$$$. What a joke.
