Crescent Hill’s artisan bakery turns out exquisite breads and a tight, bread-forward brunch—think poached eggs on levain and a cult-favorite egg-and-bacon pizza. Louisville’s artisan-bread landmark doubles as a daytime cafe for elegant sandwiches, soups, and tartines. Lauded by Food & Wine and praised by local critics, it’s a Crescent Hill staple where lunch leans seasonal and European-accented without pretension.

The service and food were both outstanding. They have a large bakery selection, and my sister and I found ourselves impressed with the lunch menu as well. We couldn’t decide on which sandwich we wanted, so we each got one and split. My favorite was the Turkey & Swiss, but the Jambon was very good, too ! I had to get a pain au chocolat because they just looked so good! Spoiler alert: it was. I will definitely be back to try out the coffee and more bakery options!! I highly recommend ❤️

Google
Loved the food and location. They have a pretty extensive menu so theres something for everyone no matter when you go, breakfast, lunch, or... Well, idk if they're open for dinner but if they are, I'd go. We ordered coffee and a few different pastries and everything we had was delicious. We'll definitely visit again next time we're down that way. 2 thumbs up, highly recommend, would go again, etc etc.

The place is located on a well-known avenue in Louisville, making it easy to find. Despite the busy area, there is plenty of street parking available along the avenue, which is very convenient. The atmosphere is beautiful and well-decorated, with seating both outside on the sidewalk and indoors. The outdoor tables have heaters nearby, making it cozy even on colder days. Although the interior space isn’t very large, it’s perfect for a good breakfast. The breakfast I had was simply fantastic! The flavor combinations and product quality are amazing. The price is a bit high but reasonable, considering the experience and taste. They also have an in-house bakery with a wide variety of breads and flavors that look delicious!

Google
This place is AMAZING! A must try if you’re in or around the Louisville area! They freshly bake their bread and pastries every single day. This also isn’t your typical commercial baking, everything is made from scratch. Every item that I’ve gotten has been phenomenal. Service was fast and the staff were exceptional.

Edit: We have been coming here regularly for over a year and while the pastries are still really good, the service has consistently gone down. Our last visit was awful. The lady at the counter did not smile or say hello throughout the whole transaction, and when my husband took an extra 10 seconds to look at what pastries were available, she was impatient, visibly annoyed and made us feel like we just made her wait 10 minutes. With the service getting worse, the amazing pastries are no longer worth it for us. The service was bad enough to spoil my morning. Bread and pastries here are divine. You can pick blindfolded and it will still be guaranteed amazing. Kouign amann is the best we’ve ever had - they are available only on Fridays and Saturdays and usually sell out before the afternoon. But, there are plenty of other pasties and they are all fresh, flaky perfection. Hands down the best bakery in Louisville!

One of my favorite cafes in town. Surprisingly every single item on menu is delicious.I’ve tried poached egg and bacon flatbread, spicy mushroom and spinach flatbread, mushroom tartine and smoked salmon tartine. Blueberry cheesecake just tastes like heaven.

Updated 5/24/25: Blue Dog continues to be one of my favorite spots for a Saturday morning bite to start a leisurely day of hob-nobbing! The Reuben sandwich, wheatberry salad, flatbread pizza, and lavender & honey latte were amazing! ~~~~~ If you haven’t already heard, Blue Dog Bakery & Cafe is a great place to check out for super-fresh artisanal breads, desserts, and sandwiches! I am particularly fond of their sourdough bread, especially when it's toasted and piled high with corn beef, sauerkraut, gruyere, and a nice swath of thousand island salad dressing. The Bourbon pecan tarte's are perfect with a cup of coffee on these amazing Fall days we're enjoying right now! If you plan to check them out on Saturday, they're open until 2:00 p.m., but you should either plan to get their a lot earlier before they run out of bread, or call ahead and they'll have it set aside for you.

Google
The coffee (i got the pistachio mocha) and pastries (pistachio and orange kouign aman) are delicious and so is their Fred Bread which is essentially a square loaf of croissant. Solid crust on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. There's about 6 window bench seats where you can pretend you're in a coffee shop but as it says in their name, it's a cafe. There are some cafes that are designed as a coffee shop but function as a restaurant, this is designed as a restaurant that sells really good coffee and pastries. It can also get quite loud since it's a smaller space that seats a lot of people. The left side of the place is to-go / a proper bakery and they can slice your bread for you, just ask.

Yelp
Lives up to the hype!! I went in very skeptical cause everyone recommends this place but wow it was great. It's pretty loud inside cause it's backed, think of an elevated diner/farm-to-table energy. The ourdoor seating is covered and looks fantastic. Service is great. Salad Nicoise - great, and good portion Jambon sandwich - delicious, the meat quality was f static and the strawberry rhubarb they added was just delicious Artichoke sandwich - OK, but I am very picky about artichokes ALSO! The sandwiches come with a wheat barley salad that's so good.

Yelp
Blue dog has a great ambiance and style, the pastry counter is stunning, there's no way you can see it and not get anything. The brunch menu is limited and nothing really grabbed my attention. This cafe has a great reputation so I expected a little more. The strawberry crème latte was the best thing I had there. The kouign frites were not great. They tasted just stale and off the mark for a kouign aman. It's a great concept but just didn't taste well. The bacon and eggs were amazing! Took a while to get our check, even with empty plates on the table. Cute cafe overall!
google avatar

Allen B.

Yelp
Presentation of their pastries is excellent. Haven't tried many but what I tried was very good. Coffee was great but I'd like to know what is in the cream carafe. Is it half & half, whole milk or some other kind of creamer. The staff was helpful & accommodating. Charming place, I'll be back! Looking forward to trying the breads.

Yelp
Blue Dog Bakery is located in Crescent Hill off Frankfort Avenue. I've been frequenting this cafe for years and still return to my old neighborhood just to eat here. If you dine at a lot local restaurants in Louisville, it's likely that you've tried their bread without knowing it. Many of the best establishments in the city serve Blue Dog Bakery bread. The indoor dining space is small but quaint, but there is a takeout area that makes picking up your breakfast or lunch super convenient. They also have a few tables on the sidewalk that are perfect for a beautiful day. They largely rely on off-street parking, but Blue Dog does have a small parking lot in the back. I really don't know where to start with what's good. It's all good. I often crave their sandwiches. The Rueben and the turkey and Swiss are my top two favorites. I always opt for the wheatberry salad over chips or fruit. Their breakfast flatbread is also one of my go-to orders and Blue Dog is one of the best spots to grab a salad. The desserts at Blue Dog are bound to leave you jonesing for more. The chocolate mousse cake is light, airy, smooth, velvety, and downright irresistible. Whether you're on the hunt for somewhere to meet up for a lunch with a coworker, the ladies after yoga, breakfast with mom, or a small dessert for your littlest love, Blue Dog Bakery is one of the most consistently delicious bakeries around.

Yelp
This place is so busy that we showed up at 1pm and there was really nothing left!!! BUT we were lucky to get a buochon and a chocolate chip pecan cookie and those were incredible!!! So we can only imagine how great the rest would've been! Definitely sad we didn't get to try but only because it was so good!!

Yelp
This spot is legendary for a reason. On one side, you have an amazing selection of breads and pastries, and on the other, a cozy café perfect for brunch or lunch, complete with a small but thoughtfully curated alcohol selection featuring cocktails, wine, and beer. Heads-up: the café closes two hours earlier than the bakery, so plan your visit accordingly! Chocolate lovers, don't miss the pain au chocolat. It's buttery, rich, and pairs perfectly with a cappuccino. (I asked for a sprinkle of edible gold sugar glitter on my foam, because I am in the know--and now you are too!) If savory is more your style, go for the Jambon. Available first come, first serve with the other counter items, it's a quick fix. Featuring Broadbent ham on a mini baguette with farm-fresh butter, it's simple and decadent. For a seasonal treat, I tried the orange snowflake cookie. It was nice, but honestly, I'd recommend sticking with the gingerbread tiles. Sweet, spicy, and addictive. If you're in the mood for table service, check in with the host to sit inside or outside. On sunny days, the patio has a relaxed, European cafe vibe. On rainy days, grab a spot at the window counter for a moody cup of joe. The vibe is relaxed, yet buzzing. The staff is cool. The bread? Main character energy. It gets super busy on Fridays and Saturdays, so swing by when you have the leisure of time. You'll leave full, happy, and feeling a little dreamy.

Yelp
After driving by this place countless times in the last few years, we finally found time to give it a try. They have counter service as well as indoor/outdoor seating with a full brunch and lunch menu. We got there around 11 on a Saturday and had a 10-15 minute wait for a table. The space is small so it's loud, and the noise from the kitchen isn't super well concealed. It also took well over 10 minutes for our server to come by our table and get our drink orders. Despite the slow service, the food was fantastic. I opted for the breakfast sandwich and my boyfriend got the poached egg and bacon flatbread. The sandwich had great flavor and came with watermelon, grapes, and blueberries. The flatbread was fabulous with the perfect amount of toppings to bread ratio. We also tried the mocha and drip coffee and both were good. On the way out we stopped by the counter to get some to go baked goods. We should've done this before we sat down to eat because most of what we wanted was sold out, so go early! We snagged the peanut butter cookie and the nut free chocolate chip cookie. I really liked both and they were big and worth the price.

Emina S.

Yelp
Stopped in a few weeks ago on my sister's graduation day and the place was, as expected, packed! We only waited 5-10 minutes in line, though. They're always busy and sell out of things early, so come as early as possible for best selection (keep in mind that certain items aren't available in the morning; their website has a list!) Ordered 2 egg sandwiches on brioche w/ sides of fruit. + a blueberry muffin to go. Took a bit to get our food but that sandwich brought me back to that sunny Summer day 7-8 years ago when I first had one. My terrible photo does NOT do this sandwich justice! Most great bakeries and restaurants in town that don't make their own bread use BBD. Their bread is like the Louisville equivalent of how ubiquitous Pat LaFrieda Meats is in NYC

Yelp
I love this bakery! It's so cute and a welcoming environment. I love their pastries along with their hot breakfast food. I definitely recommend it if you're in the area. There is street parking in front of the restaurant, but I've never had an issue finding parking in the area.
google avatar

Elle B.

Yelp
I noticed the bakery while picking out my Airbnb for this trip and immediately added it to my itinerary. It was just a few minutes up the road from where I was staying and street parking wasn't hard to come by, but there's a small parking lot around back as well. Despite being relatively prime time on a Friday morning, the cafe wasn't too busy and I was able to spend ample time gawking at all the beautiful pastries before I was helped. I picked up a half dozen goodies to share with my tattoo artist and their colleagues, so the gentleman behind the counter helped me get a good mix of flavors. Personally, I inhaled the chocolate croissant as soon as I got back to my kitchen but that pistachio orange puff looked divine and will be the first thing I try on my next visit.

Yelp
Delicious bakery side and cafe section! We went for breakfast and had delicious coffee! The white bean pesto tartine was okay but friend enjoyed breakfast bun! I also tried the gooseberry pastry, which was delicious! Quick and efficient service! Ambiance was perfect, cute and quaint!
google avatar

Macauley N.

Yelp
A fav brunch spot. There is usually a short wait on the weekends so grab a coffee while you wait. The food is all deliciosos. Indoor and outdoor seating. They have heat lamps on the patio when it's chilly. Fresh baked pastries and bread. Takeaway sides and accoutrements. Dine in or carry out, blue dog is the best!
google avatar

Renae D.

Yelp
This place was pretty packed but that's to be expected in a small space on a Saturday. They seemed to be thriving & enjoying helping everyone. We ordered in the bakery part & took ours to go. My pistachio rose latte was light & refreshing. We shared a lavender macaroon & enjoyed it. I will definitely go back to try out more of their bakery options.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
I have always wanted to try this place. I always drive by and it looks so cute! The service was lovely. Our waitress was very attentive, food came out quick and so did our specialty coffees! Did I mention they have outdoor seating? What more could you ask for?! The chicken salad sandwich was yummy and my friend liked her fried egg sandwich. We both tried the lavender vanilla lattes. They also have milk alternatives.

Yelp
i've never been to Italy or Paris, but this is what I would expect an artisan bakery to be like there. There's no place in Louisville like it in my opinion! Definitely expect wait times whether you're getting a pastry and coffee to go or dining in. I don't think you can make reservations online. If you buy things to take away from there, order the cereal bread loaf (definitely recommend ordering ahead) and highly recommend the bread croutons, which are a lovely addition to any dish. Everything just tastes so fresh and a farm to table experience.

Yelp
We have the good fortune of traveling to Louisville a few times a year. Blue Dog is a must-visit during our travels. This place is simply top-notch. Their koughin aman is the best I've ever had in the US. Their Sourdough is legitimately outstanding, and we always indulge in their almond croissants and pain au chocolat. Although we do our best to limit our sugar consumption, when you are presented with high-quality creations, there is no choice but to give in to temptation. Typically, I rise early on Friday morning and make the trip down to BDG&C. It is best to pick up their stuff freshly baked, and there is always the risk that they will run out. As I write this review and think about Blue Dog, I am already planning my next visit. Can't wait to go back and enjoy it.

Amanda S.

Yelp
We stopped by for lunch, a bit early (11ish) to beat the crowd and it worked! We got a lovely spot outside under the awning which is perfect for outside dining and people watching. To drink, we ordered sparking water and a raspberry iced tea. Would definitely recommend the iced tea! For lunch, we both ate jambon buerre sandwiches with a mixed green salad. It was perfect and took me back to Paris for about an hour.

Yelp
Blue Dog Bakery & Cafe was one of the local spots we discovered through Yelp when visiting Louisville. A highly rated bakery that did not disappoint. We purchased several of their baked goods to snack on our roadtrip. Too bad that they did not have any Kouign Amann left that morning because I would have loved to try their version of my favorite European pastry. Here is a list of what my wife and I shared: Pistachio Orange Schnecken. Never heard of a schnecken before, but it tasted great!! Blueberry Ginger Scone. I'm not a fan of scones, but wifey wanted to try it. She liked it, and I thought it tasted okay. Chocolate Croissant. This was one of the best Chocolate Croissants I've ever tasted anywhere in the world! 5 stars!!! Peanut Butter Cookie. Had this the next day. It was still DELICIOUS!! 5 stars! Chocolate Pecan cookie. We also ate this the following day. It was very yummy as well. 5 stars!!! Pecan Maple Morning Bun. Another 5 star winner in my book!! With the exception of the scone, I thought everything we ate was awesome! Did not try any of their sandwiches or other cafe food. If we ever return to Louisville, then we will have to return to Blue Dog. Charming place.

Rena K.

Yelp
Top tier pastries, friendly staff, and such a cute and aesthetic bakery! One of my favorite bakeries to this day!

Joe T.

Yelp
What a great place for coffee and pastries the ambience is perfect and the service is always outstanding!
google avatar

Lindsey R.

Yelp
Awesome local cafe. Nice selection of cookies, pastries, muffins and breakfast items. Lots of fresh made bread too. We just stopped in to grab coffees and treats but you can sit down and order from the cafe too. They are closed on Sundays.
google avatar

Amy H.

Yelp
It's hard to say anything that hasn't already been said about Blue Dog. However, I recently discovered their Pistachio Orange Schneken. It is heaven rolled with sugared pistachios. It looks almost like a cinnamon roll mixed with a muffin. Literally the best pastry I've had in decades. The service is always cheery and efficient, the interior is clean and welcoming. Living so close to them is a problem because I want to come in every day, and am always disappointed when I remember they are closed on Sundays.

Yelp
My oh my, what a wonderful bakery with delicious sweets and coffee. I got this flatbread that I was able to eat the next day. And this pretty rose lavender latte was so good. 10/10 would recommend!

Katheryne B.

Yelp
Did not get to try food, lady with red hair at register gave me attitude and was not welcoming, and didn't give same treatment to other customers. The place was cute and i do not think i will come back.

Yelp
Had a better experience recently and enjoyed my lunch there. Taking off one star because they took away my favorite thing: chicken fingerling potato pizza. Hopefully they will bring it back!

Yelp
I haven't written an update to my Blue Dog review until the before times?!? Well it's high time for a bit of an update then. And here's the deal: Blue Dog is still as delicious and awesome as ever! I ordered breakfast via their website last week. The site was easy to use and appeared to be up to date with all the drool worthy pastries that greet you by the register. I got the fried egg sandwich, and as you can imagine, the bun in this sandwich was as good as the fillings. I also got a pistachio orange schnecken -- "When the schnecken beckons" ... obscure quote from "The Birdcage" ... anyone? -- that was the sweet note I wanted with my breakfast. And for my drink: a chai latte. All of Blue Dog's bread, pastries and entrees are as beautiful as they are delicious. I also appreciate how Blue Dog now has a grab-and-go case of soup, chicken salad, desserts and more. Blue Dog is a Louisville treasure, and I love that it's so close to my house. What is your favorite pastry or bread from Blue Dog? I'd love to try more of their goodness!
google avatar

Bailey M.

Yelp
Stopped in for some pastries to go. We got the kouign amann, a chocolate croissant and an apricot scone. The kouign amann was to die for, and the chocolate croissant was one of the best I've ever had. The apricot scone left something to be desired. But the atmosphere in here was super cute. One worker was a little annoyed when I asked for time to look at the case before ordering but the next worker who came up and took our order was very nice. Definitely would visit again next time we're in town!

Yelp
Great pastries and fresh made bread. Cute cozy spot to meet up with friends and family. Located in St Mathew's area so nice to walk around the neighborhoods after. I had a cappuccino and the flavor of the coffee was ok. Not that strong considering they made it with Espresso. They didn't offer to heat up the pastries either and their drip coffee pot was broke. Good place, but if they cleaned up a couple of area of the business it could be much better. The staff was very nice and friendly.
google avatar

Sandi A.

Yelp
Super cute, quaint little place with amazing food. I sat at a community table and it was nice to share some chit chat with others at the table.

Yelp
On this hot Saturday, it was a pleasure for my sister to recommend we go to the blue dog for lunch. It's been long time since I had eaten at the blue dog and remembered it quite well. We were able to get a seat inside since it was so warm outside and the service was amazing. The food was fantastic. The only downside to being inside when the restaurant is full is there no soft surfaces so sounds bounced around so a little bit loud. but all in all, it was a wonderful experience, thank you
google avatar

Liz J.

Yelp
This place is great! We went over the summer and were able to snag a table outside. They were very busy, but the service was great. The food was excellent. I can't say enough nice things about it. I love that the bakery and cafe, although at the same location, are different entities, so if you wanted to just run in for a coffee or sweet treat, you can go right into the bakery. Will definitely be going back
google avatar

Sal R.

Yelp
Absolutely the best bread in Louisville! Great breakfast and delicious sandwiches as well.
google avatar

Bryan H.

Yelp
Yummy yummy yummy. I had the Smoked Salmon Tartine, my wife had the vegetable tartine, and my daughter had the poached egg and bacon flatbread. All were delicious. The bakery bread items and raspberry tart that we took home was also delicious. I would have give 5 stars if our service was better. They changed 2 people waiting on us and in the mean time didn't get our initial coffee drinks until 10-12 minutes after we ordered it. The main staff waiting on us kept saying she was going to get it and then forgot us. She finally said she was going to check on it and finally brought it to us. The whole ordeal took way too long...I was wondering if she even put our order in when she took it. She was also "fake" courteous at times seems like and even took awhile to get the check at the end. Just not a fan of the service but big fan of the food.

Sharon M.

Yelp
What went well??? EVERYTHING!!!!!! (My only "issue" is the crowded and dark interior eating area). Otherwise...PERFECT!!!

Yelp
We finally went to Blue Dog! After seeing their name on the menus of so many of our favorite restaurants as a bread supplier, we were happy to officially visit the source. We stopped by to grab a quick bite before a day of activities. They do not start serving full menu brealfast until 9:00 AM (which seems a bit late) but we were looking for more of a pastry and coffee fill to start our day, so it was perfect. Out of their exquistiely lined case up front, we were able to decide with our eyes which is always fun. The decision was challenging as everything looked so fresh and scrumptious. I had the fresh berries and pastry cream filled that had a captivating passionfruit glaze and my partner had the ham and gruyere (a savory yummmm!). We were both suprised that such delicately flaky pastries packed such hefty portions of filling and left us feeling satisfied. Specifically, way more delicious ham in every bite than we anticipated. We also grabbed a coffee to share. We ate on the patio which gives a very European flair to the experience. My only flaw in our visit really had nothing to do with the space itself nor the delightful food, instead I do want to share a note on what I imagine to be regular patrons and the staff- to an "outsider", the atmosphere can feel a bit pretentious at times. But over all, we'll be back for quick bites.

Yelp
If you long for a European style café for a breakfast spot, blue dog doesn't disappoint. It's quaint and efficient and oh so very yummy, with its fresh pastry and breads and great breakfast items. Not too little not too much. Today and most other days I had the quiche which is buttery cheesy goodness with a flat white coffee and of course a chocolate croissant. The coffee I assume is the Illy brand and it's wonderful I can't explain to you what a wonderfully complete feeling one has after a nice morning here to start the day. Thank you Blue dog cafe! atmosphere: small clean European pastry shop feel with a great southern charm, very clean and organized Staff: kind, polite, efficient and helpful Price $$ great value

Christine L.

Yelp
Disappointed that I drove there this Sunday morning and they were closed. For a local shop you need to update your google hours. I was there yesterday and they were packed and didnt have anything left from their pastries.
google avatar

EllenMarie S.

Yelp
Nice and quaint place on the corner, with parking behind the store. It gets quite busy as there was a fair line. There is outdoor seating and even a musician playing music outside that it reminded me of a New Orlean's vibe. The raspberry almond croissant was DELICIOUS! Flaky, buttery, plenty of almond toppings oozing with raspberry! Figs and goat cheese scone was ok, I was hunting more for the figs to offset the goat cheese flavor so kind of nice to try, but not something I would order again. I had been craving oatmeal raisin cookies ( can you believe it is so hard to find- only place was Costco and not ordering like 24 just to get one cookie!). Here after months of searching, I found my one oatmeal cookie ( ok with raisins, but what I really wanted was a toffee or chocolate chip in it- does anyone ever make this combo?!). I guess I will just have to make that myself( or one with butterscotch chips or caramel drizzle). Indulge my fantasies, lol, I am giving Blue Dog some ideas they can experiment and offer - fantasy wise...( dreaming...Tatum Channing holding the cookie beckoning me with his hair blowing in the wind...). Wake up... so cookie was scrumptious! Tasted like a molasses cookie( another idea to offer!?), I love molasses flavored cookies and breads( another idea!). So that was just breakfast treats/snacks/desserts- we were actually getting Thank You boxes made up so we only had a taste for us bc we didn't want to overindulge! I would like to try out their lunches sometime- cool place to just hang out. I do want to try out their Bourbon orange glazed French toast weekend brunch next time ( reminder to myself!)- looks delicious in other Yelp reviews!

Yelp
Tried the Kouign Amann for the first time ever. And I loved the fact that I could taste sugar and butter in every layer. It was crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. Service was great. It was crowded but customer service seemed fast and efficient.

Alysaa V.

Yelp
The food is excellent! That being said it is slightly pricier than what you might expect for a sandwich. For two drinks and two smaller sandwiches it was $40 dollars. It was delicious though and the food was very high quality, so I think that as long as you are willing to pay it is worth it, especially since it isn't often you get French inspired food. You are also paying for the ambiance which was immaculate. The place is darling in a really sweet area of town. The workers are friendly and helpful and sitting and eating inside, outside, or in the area makes for a nice little excursion.
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
I expected good things from this establishment as the reviews are generally favorable. I tried (3) bakery items. One was very good, one was merely average, and the last was not good at all...the first one being a flaky, semi-sweet type croissant-thing (can't remember name) and the last being a very dry lemon loaf with not much flavor. In my book, that places the overall average at just so so. Staff member that checked me out was nice and overall atmosphere was generally nice. I'll give them another shot at some point.
google avatar

Anne M.

Yelp
I do love, blue dog bakery! I don't get here often enough, but love to come to Frankford Avenue and have lunch here. The pastries are amazing but I come for the bread. I also appreciate other restaurants in town serving the bread as well. I can even pick it up at some. Select grocery stores such as Paul's fruit market! I'm not really reviewing a certain visit, just in general, blue dog, bakery is D'lish!

Ricky M.

Yelp
Great service as always especially for consistently having a line from register to door. Very clean, quaint, atmosphere as usual. This was my 4th visit (with more to come God willing!) - Pecan, Maple morning bun was light, crispy on outside and fluffy inside. 5/5 - Almond, lemon, blueberry croissant was the same as above ^ 5/5 - Raspberry, cream cheese filled danish was also a 5/5

Dani D.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best croissant I've ever had. I went while there was a big event going on next-door. They were still pretty fast with the service and have really creative specialty drinks as well.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by on a weekend morning around 11. While busy, you can tell it's a well oiled machine because the staff were amazing, helpful, and enthusiastic about our experience and what the bakery had to offer. We sat inside at the window since it was chilly out. Can't wait to go back. The egg in a baskets were delicious and our iced coffees were fresh and delicious. Very well brewed.

Yelp
Honestly the worst muffin I've ever had. Tasteless, super dry and the bottom has a weird texture due to being over baked in a Bundt cake pan.....couldn't even taste the blueberries which there are plenty of.

Yelp
Stopped in here for a post breakfast snack for my wife's birthday. They had private parking available in the back. Due to covid they had no indoor dining so it was takeout only. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time so it was nice to finally knock this off the wishlist. Upon entering they have a counter with all the baked good options spread out in front of you. As a first timer we had a lot of questions. Unfortunately the guy behind the counter spoke so low that we couldn't hear him at all and it got to the point where we felt rude to ask him to keep repeating himself. So we kinda flew blind on selections. I got a brownie looking thingy (couldn't here him describing it). We also got a pain au chocolate and a Coconut almond croissant. All three came to just over $13. So a bit pricey. But it was expected given the rep and location. My brownie thingy was just ok. I think it had maybe espresso in it. I tasted a hint of coffee which I'm not a fan of. So probably would of been good To hear the desk worker. The pain au chocolate was solid as well. It was like 90 percent bread with very little chocolate. So that was disappointing. My wife said the coconut croissant was real good and flaky. Plenty of almonds. She warmed it up when she got home to eat the second half and she said that improved it immensely. Overall to me this place was just average. I was pretty excited for it. But if I'm being honest from my experience and what I sampled off the baked goods there is nothing that has me clamoring to come back. Too Little substance for the pricing for me personally.

Yelp
Blue Dog pastries live up to the hype. I got the spinach and feta croissant ($6), the ham and cheese croissant ($6) - which was truly the star - , and the date and roasted pecan scone ($4). I wanted one of their more robust breakfast options but the line was moving slowly and I was on a time crunch. If you're not going to eat at Blue Dog I'd recommend ordering ahead as the line gets long. The online menu has far fewer options than the actual bakery when you go in person for breakfast / lunch. There's both outdoor and indoor seating options.

Yelp
One of my Lousiville favorites! Step in line for a pastry and coffee or see the host file a seat. The French toast is one of my favorites but only available on Saturdays!
