"We like restaurants that feel like bars, and with a small space in Fort Point, lots of high-top tables, and tiki drinks, Blue Dragon does. What’s even more impressive is that it pulls this off while simultaneously being one of the more kid-friendly restaurants in the neighborhood - you’ll see a lot of families if you’re here before 8. But regardless of whether one comes here to drink a hurricane or a Hi-C, they’ll get a really good menu of sharable Asian dishes (mostly, but not exclusively, Chinese). If you don’t know where to start, the harissa lamb potstickers are excellent, and the dan dan noodles have a great ma la kick, but you’ll be pretty good with just about anything on the menu." - Dan Secatore

Ordered UberEats for lunch. I always look at the UE rating (4.7) vs the Google review rating (4.1). Ok 🤷🏽‍♀️ but still tried since the recent reviews were decent. Smh 🤦🏽‍♀️ the rice was tangy and very hard. The meat had no flavor almost like it was boiled or steamed with the rice all no real taste. My daughter had combo fried and I had chicken fried rice. Both were not good. I tried a piece of her steak and immediately spit it out. A waste of money. Now we’re still looking for food 🙄.

Google
Had the Blue dragon with fried rice and was extremely disappointed. The meat had no flavor and the vegetables were a weird texture and tasted off. The fried rice was mediocre and the sauce was the only good part of the meal. Portion was large but it was not worth $17 (also got a can of coke).

Google
The food was very good and reasonably priced. The facility is somewhat run down, however it is a fairly new family run business and they are trying to make it work. The food is excellent. If possible call and order ahead as they make everything fresh and a dinner takes 10 or 15 minutes to cook. I will definitely go again. Also, The young lady that takes your order is super sweet.

Google
Bring cash! An old Taco Bell has been transformed into a simple Chinese food restaurant, with decent quality food at mostly reasonable prices. They do give a cash discount, so stick it to Visa and bring enough cash for your meals, $12-14 each. Mine came to exactly $14 after tax which was nice.

Google
Last minute Saturday night dinner take out overall give it a 7/10

Google
Absolutely without doubt THE best General Tso's Chicken I have had in Dallas...honestly. And I lived in NYC for 23 years with the best Chinese takeout on the planet and Blue Dragon is 100% in that league. It looks EXACTLY like their pic. It should always be dark and crisp and look like the sauce is shellacked on it like gloss. It is AMAZING !! I will not ever order Chinese food from any other Chinese restaurant in Dallas again. Blue dragon is my new go to absolute 100% favorite Chinese restaurant in the Big D. Here is a hint: if you order general towels, chicken from another restaurant, look at their pic if it is not dark and glossy, do not order it. It should always look like it does at the Blue Dragon. Amazing!!

Google
I discovered this restaurant fewer than 2 weeks ago and have visited it 4 times! The cashier is exceptionally friendly, and the restaurant is clean. The menu selection is large and affordable. The low prices, food quality, and portion sizes are balanced in favor of customers. The fried rice is good. I have enjoyed the honey and orange chicken dinners without spiciness. I also have ordered the sesame and sweet and sour chicken dinners. What's pictured are dinner sized portions of the chicken entrees. This is the only Chinese, Japanese, or Vietnamese restaurant that I have loved in DFW so far.

Rebecca Jimenez

Google
The food is flavorful but I recommend you order ahead. The drive through takes forever but at least it is fresh. I recommend the sesame chicken with fried rice but not the hot and sour soup (too watery). I never see anyone sitting in the lounge but it's clean.

Yelp
My experience was mixed, i wish there was a 3.5 star option. To start, the prices all rang up higher than posted in the wall or online. Next, we ordered large size 'family style' portions of everything, the only one that actually seemed large was fried rice. Hot and sour soup was disappointing. It had a weird, overly sweet and too spicy taste but really no depth of flavor and almost none of the usual tofu, mushrooms, veggies etc. Fried rice was pretty basic. Light on meat and veggies the flavor was fine, neither offensive nor craveable. The other dishes although smaller than expected were very good and would be worthy of another visit. Those were moo goo gai pan with chicken and moo shi pork. Both tasted fresh, the veggies were cooked well and flavors as expected.

Yelp
My roommate and I ordered delivery from this place which is through Zing. To start we got their Dumplings $7.23 for 8 (deep fried), Crab Rangoon $6.19 for 4, Egg Drop Soup $2.86 (Small) and Hot & Sour Soup $2.86 (Small). The dumplings were okay, nothing special. The Crab Rangoon actually had other stuff in the filling besides just cream cheese like most places. I thought these were good except a little cold from the delivery and lacking a bit on the filling but tasted good. The soups were just okay but the Hot & Sour was weird, the overly sweet taste is off-putting. For my entrée I got the Sesame Chicken $13.44 (Large) with white rice, the sauce tasted good and the chicken did maintain its crispness but some of the pieces were chewy and some tough. It is a ton of food though. The rice was fine, I mixed it in the sauce and with the chicken to liven it up. Overall it is not bad but not great either. I will have to try some other things to see if it is worthy of getting into my Chinese rotation.

Yelp
I pickup food from here almost every week. Can't beat the food for the price. Always cooked fresh. Egg drop soup is as close to NY Chinatown that you'll find. Really nice family business!

Yelp
Anyone giving this place more that one star it a relative or works there. I spent nearly a year in China on business. I have always said the worst Chinese and the Best Chinese food I have ever had was in China... Until now. I started to walk out of the old Taco Bell when I realized the entire staff of the restaurant was Hispanic not Asian but I figured what the heck maybe they know what they are doing. Well... giving it a try I ordered Unsweet Tea, A meal called Blue Dragon and Hot and Sour soup. Soup came out within 10 minutes but no drink. Guy from behind the counter yelled Sweet Tea Right... no Unsweet!. I ended up finishing the "Hot and Sour" soup that was neither spicy or sour but more sweet than anything. After about 15 more minutes the Blue Dragon finally came out and my drink seriously lacking ice. The meal was Veggies with Chicken, Beef, Pork and Shrimp, I had ask for spicy and did not get it .. it was very bland and very lacking on the meat. I asked for splenda or sweet and low for the tea..no luck.. no soy sauce on the tables..no salt and pepper.. I could really get a feel for how clean or dirty the pack was until I saw a swinging

Elizabeth V.

Yelp
Will definitely be back. Orange chicken is so good. Egg drop soup 10/10. Freshly made!

Amber C.

Yelp
The lemon chicken looks good, but it didn't come with any lemon sauce..the good thing is the food arrived hot. I will likely give it another shot, but I was really looking forward to the lemon sauce.

Britt P.

Yelp
Unfortunately I have to agree with most of the reviews. I ordered from Foodsby through my company before reading the reviews but they were spot on. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken and I barely received any chicken.. lots and lots of veggies but barely any bits of chicken. The flavor wasn't bad, lacking a little but not bad. Disappointing that there was more water chestnuts (which have no flavor) than chicken.

Christy D.

Yelp
I really really wanted to like this place. Just soup and appetizers. The Hot and Sour soup is sweet! Really sweet. I don't get it. No sour. Sweet instead. The Egg Drop was ok. The appetizers seem to be something you can get from a warehouse store. Sorry Blue Dragon.

J M.

Yelp
Ordered the wonton soup and a couple of entrees. It was cheap but terrible. The wontons were falling apart and had no filling.

Stacy T.

Yelp
I order shrimp fried and out this entire pile of unflavored rice was 5 micro baby shrimp. I will not ever return.

Andria M.

Yelp
This is by far one of the better places in the area. It is always good and they will let you ad or make changes to your order.

Food R.

Yelp
2 star only because my food was hot! Other than that I didn't like the food at all! I got combo fried rice with fried shrimp. For $20 definitely wasn't worth it. I didn't even finish my food. NOT authentic chinese

Tracy N.

Yelp
This is one of the best Chinese takeout in the area. Food is tasty & the portion is plenty for 2 of us to eat!

Susan F.

Yelp
Tried this place for my first time today. We have Foodsby in our building. I had crispy Szechuan beef. The rice was good and the egg drop soup was good. The eggroll was terrible. The Szechuan beef was not very good either. All of the beef is very dry and it had a very funny flavor like the oil it was cooked and was old. I don't think I will order from this place again.

Temecia C.

Yelp
The food was fresh, hot when delivered, and good! I will try again and maybe something different!!

Denver L.

Yelp
On the way home I decided to pick up Chinese food. I typically hit up Panda Express but wanted to support local business, so I stopped at Blue Dragon. There were zero cars in front of me, so I felt like I would be on my way rather quickly. I order, pull up to pay, and waited for my order to be prepared. After 5 minutes, I look into the window and can see the cashier playing around on her iPad. No big deal. I make a phone call and realize that now over 10 minutes had passed. At 15 min, I decided to call and let them know that I am in the car at the window and asked what is taking so long. I got the order home and was sure that it would be piping hot seeing that I sat and waited almost 20 minutes. Sadly, my food was warm AT BEST and the rice was terrible. NEVER will I go back. Panda Express is better than Blue Dragon even on their very worst day.

M. L.

Yelp
Ordered two simple items, online, 45 minutes ago. When I arrived 35 minutes ago, they said they were "working on them." I'm still sitting in the lobby. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting....

Anthony O.

Yelp
Just stopped in to grab lunch for the work crew. Ordering went well we got everything we asked for. The guy even asked if I needed help carrying the food out to my car. Did expect that kind of service it was nice . The hot and sour soup is amazing. I ordered crispy Szechuan beef and it looks nothing like it ... way to many onions and carrots. Nothing was crispy .... definitely won't order it again but I'll try something else. I expected the crispy beef to look like the orange chicken... chucks of meat crisped up Over it was a good experience and good food. The rice is amazing.

Ray S.

Yelp
Absolutely no flavor ... In any dish that we ordered. Crab rangoon FLAVORLESS, Orange chicken, FLAVORLESS and CHEWY, Combination fried rice ( while plentiful ) FLAVORLESS. I wasn't expecting a lot from this place, but it fell beneath a low standard. This place could be great with a lot of work.

Abel B.

Yelp
good is great and great deals for their lunch specials! tons of options.

Alfonso M.

Yelp
Tried blue Dragon today, ordered a pot sticker as appetizer, tasted so good. For My entree, I had a mu shi pork with pancakes . They cook your food pretty quick. Food tasted good with the right seasoning. They will bring your order to your table with your food utensil. The serving is pretty big. If you order a dinner portion. You also request a lunch. Overall great food and service. Well be back very soon!

Mario C.

Yelp
Today I was the first customer there. Ordered some combo fried rice, chicken lo mein, steamed rice and pot stickers to go. The atmosphere was really nice. The service was great. The food was made fresh. My wife & I are happy that we chose this place for Chinese Food. We are satisfied and would definitely come back.

Butt S.

Yelp
I would've gave it a 5 star rating but the wait for the food was more than I expected although the wait was long,It was so worth it,this food was bussin Panda Express ain't got shit on this place, the chow mein was excellent and sweet and sour sauce was an explosion of taste, this is my new favorite Chinese place

Cal C.

Yelp
Okay...I been trying to eat here so I had some time today at noon. I was gonna go light so I ordered 2...TWO egg rolls and a small...small! Egg drop soup. Fast, huh...? Only 1 car in front of me...but they musta ordered one of EVERYTHING on the menu! So guess what I did? Nope...didn't honk or get out the car...just drove off...yep. That was me.... I'll try again later but for now I'm very disappointed.

Yelp
The first time we ordered from The Blue Dragon in February 2021, they failed to send our delivery order for Sweet & Sour pork with a single drop of Sweet & Sour sauce, nor was there any pineapple with the meat & few veggies. I didn't want to be unkind or Karen-like, so I didn't complain. After all, they were just simple mistakes. When we ordered from the Blue Dragon a second time, contrary to our selections using their online ordering system, our food was prepared with hot spices, which we can't eat due to health issues. (As I type this, my esophagus is burning miserably.) The lo mein dishes have 3 options on the website: mild, spicy, or extra spicy. We chose mild. The cashew chicken had no such option, so I noted our request for "mild" in the order's comment section. The meals arrived as spicy. When I called the next morning, the manager, Luis, informed me that saying, "mild" means the kitchen staff ADD SPICINESS. That's utterly illogical. So, let me repeat that: The Blue Dragon's manager's & kitchen manager's inexplicable assumption is that if a customer says "mild," then they want spices ADDED to otherwise bland dishes. It boggles the mind. I paid a lot for meals which they didn't make according to specifications on their own website, we can't eat, and the restaurant refused to make it right. I guess we're taking our business back to the Royal Wok. We had tried the Blue Dragon because of its proximity. However, the Royal Wok's food is outstanding, they understand the definition of the word "mild," and although I've never had cause for concern with the Royal Wok's meals, I know for a fact that they actually care about their customers' health and satisfaction.

Deshon B.

Yelp
Good, was with old and sitting around or they overcooked it. I ordered the General Tso's chicken, something most American Chinese food places do. This one came the chicken pieces are hard. Like the breading is either stale or overcooked. Didn't finish it.... Felt like a waste.

Dick L.

Yelp
First time visit; there will be more. Very good food with the option of requesting special twists. Exceptional interest in making the customer happy. Sensible pricing for ample serving sizes. Enjoyed it.

Rudy J.

Yelp
Order to go large chicken lo mien very little chicken in my order and human chicken the same hardly any chicken. They change food containers from black w clear lid to smaller containers. They also increased their prices. I felt I got an veg plates!!!

Nason F.

Yelp
If you're expecting nyc style Chinese, this is not your spot. Decent taste, just not what we were expecting.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Service was great, girl who took my order over the phone was so nice.. Wish I could say the same about food. Was hoping this place was a decent Chinese takeout, what a fail. Food was flavorless, shrimp in the shrimp fried rice were playing a game of hide and seek and kept waiting for the slightest bit of a nose run from the Kung Pao and what's the deal on the Chow Mein?? Kids said a certain "Bear" restaurant was better than this place... Gosh here I thought we finally lucked out on a close Chinese takeout in FB.

Jimmy B.

Yelp
This was a whim choice and pulling in my expectations were not high. This was a nice surprise. The guy running the counter was great. He made suggestions and was quick to bring out the food. Food was great. I loves they allow you to get the lunch or dinner portions. Definitely be back.

Rox G.

Yelp
Called in a dinner order, lady who answered was polite, already a bonus point in my book. Ordered orange chicken with fried rice, picked it up in 10 mins as promised. Food was hot, fresh and yummy. I had ordered delivery from here before and it was also good. Nice local Chinese spot close to home. Haven't even inside the restaurant, but will definitely call in orders or delivery again.

Tyler G.

Yelp
I have tried over 20+ Chinese places in the Carrollton/Irving/Plano/Addison/Farmers branch area. Each one has been one disappointment after another. I saw the reviews for this one so I decided to give it a shot. Biting into their food was like finding a long lost friend, I was almost crying in the restaurant because of how wonderful it tasted. If you grew up in the Northeast and you're looking for what the Chinese food of your childhood tasted like, this is the place for you. I cannot wait to eat there again. They're also very well priced, I spent 20 bucks and ate Chinese food for 4 days.

Kara O.

Yelp
Delicious take out Chinese. The egg rolls are nicely flavored and lightly crispy. We also had Kung pao pork, pork and shrimp lo mein, and orange chicken. We requested one dish with no to mild spice and it was perfect. The other dishes were menu spicy. The orange chicken was remarkably fragrant with delectable orange flavor. The telephone conversation and pick up experience were both pleasant and informative. We'll be back.

G M.

Yelp
I love this place. Eaten here multiple times. It's a friendly environment if you want to eat there or also great for takeout. Don't expect a fancy restaurant bc it's located in an old fast food place. The food and pricing are pretty darn good. I'm really happy I found this place.

Chris B.

Yelp
I ordered General Tso's chicken. The chicken was so hard and old. I wasted $13. The chicken looked so bad I didn't even want to try anything else.

Jimmy R.

Yelp
Food is good. Fast delivery. I ordered the Mongolian pork and it was more a onion salad and had very little pork in it. :( I will order from there again however I will ask they make sure there's actually enough meat in the dish I order. Their egg rolls and dumplings are excellent!! The price is reasonable with averaging around $11/12.00 a person with egg rolls and a dumpling order

Donna L Binion L.

Yelp
Straight up best service and amazing food! Why haven't I been here before!!! We will be back!!!

Megan S.

Yelp
Called in an order to pick up through their drive thru. Customer service was great and very friendly. The food was ready fast and was really hot and fresh. I had the lunch portion green pepper beef with noodles instead of rice. Next time I may order something else, but I think I have found my new go-to place when I want cheap, hot and fresh Chinese food. You get a lotof food for a very reasonable price. And I love the option to get a lunch portion even at dinner.

Jeanette S.

Yelp
Was in Dallas to visit a friend (I use to live here) and came across this place. IT WAS DELICIOUS & A LOT OF FOOD! Everything is FRESH & cooked just for you, prices very reasonable! So do in if you get a chance!

K U.

Yelp
The food was pretty good. I'm not a huge Chinese food eater, but enjoyed it. The Wontons, pan fried dumplings and egg rolls were cooked perfectly. The spicy egg foo young as different. Not a huge fan of the egg,but everything else was delish.

A J.

Yelp
Sweet and sour chicken tasted 3 days old so dry/ overcooked. It was like it had been reheated multiple times. Hope I don't get food poisoning. One star because the rice was good.

Leigh F.

Yelp
Pretty darn good. My son wanted to meet me for dinner and randomly picked this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and friendliness of the gentleman who took our order. Not a fancy place place and it seemed most all orders are take out. Really good spicy chicken wings- really crispy and huge dinner portions. I had chicken fried rice. I font recall what my son ordered. I'm never in this area so chances of returning are slim to none. But if you live around here give them a try. From the other reviews you won't likely be disappointed.

Jade K.

Yelp
terrible customer service!! and waited forever & a day.. and didn't even give us the right order

Pablo G.

Yelp
This restaurant opened after a series of failed restaurants in the building. Blue Dragon is EXCELLENT! The food is cheap but high quality. My favorite dish is the General Tso Chicken. 12/10 would recommend. Clean, impeccable service, excellent food. Blue Dragon is my go-to for Chinese in Northwest Dallas/Farmers Branch.

Lane M.

Yelp
I have been here a few time and the people have always be nice . I have had there pot stick crab Rangoon and chicken on the stick . Potstickers where great and the teriyaki chicken on the stick is great too but the crab Rangoon are something to be desired needs some work

Maureen I.

Yelp
We ordered delivery for four last night. The woman on the phone was very friendly and accommodating regarding our special requests. The food arrived promptly and hot. You get a lot of food for the price. Problem is the flavor is lacking. The Moo Shu pork was bland as was the twice cooked pork. The Kung Pao chicken was totally off with a sweet clear sauce instead of a brown sauce. The orange chicken was ok. I really had high hopes for this place after reading the reviews so it was very disappointing.

B R.

Yelp
I read the reviews on google, and decided to try it. Had the orange chicken. I could taste the fact that the chicken was from frozen cuts more than I could the actual orange glaze. There was also more breading than chicken meat. Not to mention I have never had orange chicken with actual fried pieces of orange in it. Seriously, the rice was bland at best. If you're looking for something cheap and you're hungry, then this is the place. If you're looking for good food, go down further for either Panda Express or railroad China.

Sofia G.

Yelp
I ordered the Happy Family, Schezuan Beef, Chicken Lo Mein, and Egg Rolls. It was really good, the place is neat and clean. The sauce was not too heavy, it was light. The food at other places is too salty, Blue Dragon was just right and leftovers taste even better. This will be my go to Chinese place, we needed a restaurant that was close to my neighborhood. The price is reasonable, when I ordered the same entrees at other restaurants it was $37, I only paid $24 for all this food and portions are big. Thank you Blue Dragon!
